Questions

I've been working on a fairly complicated scene and Dimension takes an extremely long time to load, eventually reaches 100% and then promptly crashes with a message saying "Application needs to be restarted" or something along those lines and mentions to reference the log file. I can't quite see anything obvious in the log file? I'm not quite sure what's happening because I was opening the file just fine, closed it and now it's happening every time I try to open it. I wish I could revert back to a previous version or something if it's something wrong in the file, but I don't think that's possible!

Hello, I have some experience in 3D modelling with Rhinoceros anche Vray, but not with Dimension, I was wondering if is possibile to create a 3d environment, such a complete office, and make it interactive as the user can walk inside and explore it. I'm pretty sure that AD is not the proper software, I found suggestions about Unity and Blender, just looking for confirmation 🙂If it is possibile, otherwise, I'd like to understand what are system requirements needed, and how difficult can be, depending from importing assets or designing them. Thanks!

Hi, I wanted to know if theres a way i can save and create a 3D video scene of my 3D model concept; i want to know as it would look good for my portfolio and for my business related customers. If Dimension cant do it, are there any other Adobe related softwares that i can imported my Dimension files and save as a 3D video scene. Thank you

In my 25 years creating with ADOBE , I do not expect in 2021 for software to continuously fail at its most essential core for the important task of outputting and saving work. I will not entertain thoughts for improvement or troubleshooting on this particular application. Adobe Dimension is a monumental failure in every shape and form. It is attempting to do too much and yet it does nothing at all.

Hi. I see that adobe dimension has got something similar to layers in illustrator or photoshop. Every component can be in its own 3D layer inside the "SCENE" window. By any chance, can I export the render in the same layer format in photoshop or illustrator? The idea is to take a render, from a certain angle, generate the PSD not as all merged into one layer, but as separate layers, just as I created it in Dimension. This can save me hours of work, if possible. 

First time using Adobe Dimension — really wanting this to be a reliable tool for creating custom mockups, but pretty disappointed so far. I'll assume that the fault is on my end since I'm a beginner. In the attached images, you can see that my PNG image is immediately corrupted during the place function, and then remains corrupted after I've committed the place. Weirdly, the image on the main panel did not corrupt, even though they were both PNGs that were exported from the same Ai file at the same relative scale.Could it have anything to do with how I built the file? I created the front panel by extruding a line in the shape of the bag contour, but created the side gusset by extruding a solid shape by just .5mm (watched many tutorials, but didn't find the "correct" way to do this if different). 

Hey there! Longtime PS, Lightroom, Premiere and Dreamweaver user, but now I am being tasked with a new challenge. We have two options for creating a tutorial - 3D modeling, or video. The video I can do, but it involves a crew, a space, tools, editing after, etc. So the challenge here is:Build the objects in 3D (ie, pieces of a desk)Put the 3D objects into some kind of timeline animation (Animate?)Move the 3D objects through perceived screen space to demonstrate how to "build" the deskPut mouseover or click triggers to pop up notes of importance (ie, "make sure the parts are square!)Export into an animated format to use in a learning management system. Bonus - Create a second version that requires the user to click and drag the 3D elements into place to "Build" the desk themselves, as a test. Is this possible with Dimension + Animate, assuming functional knowledge of both tools? Will I need a 3rd tool for the interactivity portion?  Thank you in advance for any tips,

Anyone do this? How do you insure the applied materials are high enough resolution for let's say 300ppi/dpi printing?I can select various resolutions for Substance material but what is a 4096px resolution mean? at what dimensions?I know I can set the scene/canvas size, but what about the materials? Isn't like a photo scanned at specific size @a fixed dimension? and if you resize the photo the res changes? the material has to be a fixed size at a set ppi...so if it is applied to 12" sphere isnt the res different if applied to 2inch sphere?

Hi, I designed the bottle in Shapr3d on the ipad. Exporting as STL and importing in Adobe Dimension works perfectly.But I am not really satisfied with the rendering.First question: What is best practice for objects like a smoothie bottle (this fruit veggie juice), do I need to design two bodies, one for the bottle, one for the liquid. I tried that but it does not really work. Second question: What is the best material for a smoothie liquid, I tried glass that looks OK, also water but all not really. Any tips?ThanksTristan

I bought Dimension recently and I installed it. But the Axes cannot exist with my program. How can I solve this problem? I reinstalled it twice already, but it doesn't work.... please help me.

Hi there,I wanted to get a look at Adobe Dimension, but the program don't start correct.I get the welcome screen and afterwards the window is empty. Sometimes part of text and buttons appear.I tried every version, and they're all with the same problem.2.3.1 doesn't go further then the welcome screen.Does anyone know what this could be and how to solve it.Thanks, Michael

I've never used Dimension beyond a quick look, and I thought I would give it a try for a simple Book mockup. I have the cover in both Illustrator and Photoshop formats, but no matter what size I make the cover artwork it will not match the proportions of the 3D model. If I scale the artwork once placed on the model I either lose part of the title or image or I have blank spots that don't fill. If I try to scale the object after I place the art, it skews the artwork. I'm baffled. I saw one post with a video about UV mapping and I tried that, but it really just made things worse. This seems like the simple thing this program was meant for so I'm sure I'm missing something basic. Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi there, im trying to use adobe dimension and it keeps coming up with sign into creative cloud, ive uninstalled creative cloud and dimensions 3x now. Any ideas? im a uni student and have to use this often.appreatite any help, thanks

Is there any way to render just shadows? not objects, not backgrounds, just the shadows underneath the objects?

I've made the bottle object using the glass material and then made the contents slightly smaller with a graphic placed with the fill option on repeat. It looks about how I'd like it to in the design view, but when I render it, I don't know if the glass outer bottle object is reflecting the inner contents objects placed graphic or what. It appears as though the graphic of the inner/smaller content onject is on the outer/larger bottle object in the render. Attached is a gif of a screenshot of the design view, the render with the content object turned off, and then with it turned on. I'd like it to look more similar to the desiign view how you can see the thickness of the glass bottle and then the content within, but I'm not sure how to make that happen in the render.

Hi there, Just starting out and I'm just trying to get the artwork to fit a simple box in Dimension.• I've sized the box in Dimension to the exact size of the artwork.• Exported UV of Box from Dimension where I get weird export with lots of sides• Opened in Photoshop• Because I have no idea which side goes where from the exported UV, I put numbers to see where sides are going• Import UV back into Dimension and Fill box and numbers are everywhere and makes no sense. See Pics I must be doing something wrong? Please help

Is there a way to render a shadow without the surface the shadow falls onto? The result I want is a transparent PNG of a rendered object with a shadow cast onto an invisible plane so that I can place it, in Photoshop, over any color and it looks great.If I turn the ground plane off, no shadow gets rendered.Thanks!

Hi all, I am trying to place a decal on this bottle, overlapping the gold ribbon. For some reason it seems to "slip" into the ribbon, rather than overlapping it. The outlines of the ribbon seem to crop the decal whenever I drag it over:1.2. Does anyone know how to get around this? I have attached the file for reference

I have a Indesign File and a high quality PDF,PNG,JPG, etc. But always when i place it on my model it has a bad resolution. I exported so many files edited it with illustrator, Photoshop, etc. but nothing works.
