Recently, I've been trying to render a couple of adobe dimension files - I started making them and rendering on the low setting on my surface book 2 - it could just about handle rendering in the low setting mode. So I decided to copy the same files onto a USB and stick and render them on my brother's gaming PC, as this should be able to render quicker and at a higher resolution. This in fact was the case, in low setting, the PC renders quicker than my surface book, however, once it reaches 100%, the render cancels. If I try to save the render, it appears to save, however, when I open the render file it says it has been moved or deleted To ensure the USB stick wasn't the issue, I rendered one from the USB stick on my surface book (which we know works) and indeed, it worked without cancel. I can't figure out why dimensions is not rendering my files as it can render a simple file I tested - which was just a can, light source and shadow. Can anyon
In dimension, I created my scene and everything perfectly. I want to take it to KeyShot as it is. I chose the option to export as a 3D object, but my scene saves without my environment light which looks completely different. How do I fix this?
I am having to create and animated, 3d model of the larynx for one of my classes. I have used Dimension to take apart the pieces, so that I could rebuild it in Aero and then animate it, but because Aero is a beta (I'm guessing this is the problem) our files never save correctly or the parts disappear. Then I tried just using Dimension and then I was going to try to use After Effects to animate it and I can't download the correct format of file from Dimension in order for it to be used in After Effect. Honestly, any help or advice or pointers; anything would be greatly appreciated!
I really like some of the grain you can see in the render preview when rendering out an image... it is specific to the forms of your image in a way that normal grain is not. Currently I take a screen shot of the grain and composte it in photoshop to the high deff image the render eventually spits out. However, with this technique I can not render out images bigger than my screen viewer size and still composte the grain in naturally and efficiently. Is there any way you can render out low quality 'checkpoints' on the way to the finished render ? and when will dimension support video function.... it'd be the greatest creative tool ever if it did and it would force me to buy into the Adobe 3D asset library in a serious way that I'm currently avoiding cause it's so pricey. Video would trump costs for me and I'd buy in
Hi there - as the title suggests, I'm trying to import an already created vector logo (in illustrator) and import it into Dimension so that I can then build it up (extrude), apply materials to the face of it and then put it on a wallEssentially, I'm trying to create a mock up of a metallic sign on the wall using the logo I have createdI've tried importing and simply pasting but nothing?
Looking for some help! I have a piece of artwork that is a TIFF at 21.39cm x 21.38cm at a resolution of 300. I have a Dimension document created that has a work space with the same resolution. I created a plane that matches the dimensions of the graphic. I placed the graphic on the face of the plane and I would have expected it to perfectly fill the space. However, there is a margin of space around the graphic and in the graphic properties it looks like the scale is about 14%. Does Dimension not honor the true scale of imported artwork? This is quite confusing! Thanks for your time,Rich
Does anyone know of a third party clound rendering service that supports Adobe Dimension... wasting way too much time on rendering and Adobe donlt seem to be bringing cloud rendering back? Thanks. Iain.
As far as I know I have the full Creative Cloud suite, however after installing CC on my new Mac Mini M1 the Dimensions a desktop app doesn't seem to be available to download, is there a reason for this, any help with this matter would be much appreciated as I have some work to complete.
I'm trying to render a low-poly model in Dimension that has multiple UDIMs. I can't figure out how to add the 8 normal maps that are baked for it in ZBrush. How do I tell the material in Dimension that it should use a sequence of images when it comes to normal maps?
Help, please! Adobe Dimension 3.4.1, 3.4, 3.3, 3.2.1, no version open, will not start on my Mac. I get as far as the Welcome to Dimension screen and then I can't do anything. Nothing I click on works. I use the program daily and it is the first time that it stops working like this
Im trying to put texture on box with a hole, that i have made and import from 3ds max. There is no problem to put image on (1) or (2) side, but when i'm trying to put on (3) image slide on (4). I cant scale properly, and move IT to (3) side. Any help or clues?
Currently new to the program and i've just completed my first project but I can't get it to render without it being awful quality. I've rendered it on 'high quality (slow)' and I've changed the focus point so it isn't blurred. I think it might be something to do with canvas size? But i'm not sure what's a good starting size/resolution for a clear detailed render, i've played with both and nothing seems to be working. Not really sure, can you suggest anything?
Hi there, I've searched around without succes... So here I am. My goal is to visualize packaging design including UV spot and embossing.UV spot worked fine, but I'm having a hard time to match the emboss effect to the design. I'm showing a simplified test scene as an example, and the workflow is as follows:Design in Illustrator (plain colour, on artboard 1) / UV Spot in Illustrator (swirl in same plain color, on artboard 2 / Normal map in Photoshop and exported as PNG (because I don't think Illustrator can). The Illustrator file is loaded as a material into Dimension, where Artboard 1 and artboard 2 use seperate materials and line up perfectly, as expected. The normal map is loaded in the "bag material" and ends up too large on a random position, and I can't figure out a way to scale it down (and manually position it in place). Any pointers on how to get this to work?Ideally the normal map would also be another Illustrator artboard and not inside the "bag
This video is for 3d artist who would like to learn how to render their products really fast and efficient using Adobe Dimension and Photoshop. I have been using Adobe Dimension for the last 4-5 years now and It's my go-to tool for rendering all my designer toy sculpts, I love the fact that Adobe Dimension is super easy to set up, the render times are really low and for the quality that you are receiving it's just the perfect took for all product designers that want to do quick 3d render test, for all their concepts and products before starting to 3d print and produce. Getting a 3d model ready for the prototype stage, and especially testing out multiple colourways and different accessories it's very time consuming, this is were Adobe Dimension works just perfect cause you can render 3d decimated STL and Obj files you don't need to worry about clean topology or UV. Dimensions won't close and won't allow my computer to restart. I was using dimensions like normal, went to go close the program and it won't close. Not only that, but I cannot turn off my computer or restart it because it says I have to close Dimensions first... which I obviously can't do. I have the latest mac book and cannot do a hard restart. CC cloud will also not allow me to do a dimensions update because guess what... you have to close Dimensions first! Help what do I do?
I extruded an image in Photoshop that I've brought into Dimension as a 3D file. I'd like to 'reapply' that same orginal image to the 3D model (in properties, base colour, image), however when I select the original psd or tiff I first extruded the image from, it doesn't line up. Can you please assist? I'm sure there's an easy way to do this 🙂 Navigating my way through Dimension. Thanks!

I dowloaded a 3d file from turbo squid that comes in a variety of formats - FBX.rar and OBJ.rar and some others but I can't import it into Dimension (or even Blender for that matter). Do I need to unpack it somehow? I'm new to 3d.
Is there a way to „snap“ the camera to certain positions? (besides the camera bookmarks) Like a shortcut that positions the camera full frontal, full vertical or at exact 90° angle? Im having trouble adjusting the camera at exact even horizontal level or for example spot on from above. Couldn’t find anything on how to do this. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!
I recently upgraded my video card to a PNY Quadro M6000, and quickly realized it doesn't work when attempting to 'render via GPU'. Adobe support went through hours of attempts to understand the issue (including trying to tell me it isn't powerful enough hah) before telling me that my video card isn't supported because it was released a year before Dimension was released. I've never heard of such a thing, that a piece of hardware must be newer than the software, seems weird, right?Anyway, I'm wondering if there is any possible workaround in order to use an unsupported video card? Also wondering if Adobe has any plans to support a wider array of cards in the future?
Hello!I am very new to Adobe Dimension and have not been able to understand why a decal that I am placing around Model (Tall closed soda can) which was downloaded from Adobe Stock, is not able to be wrapped completely around the object. Whenever the decal is about to wrap completely around the object, it gets cropped... or, rather, is not able to be completely wrapped without being cut off. I've read some posts and saw some videos about this, and most suggested to try to "Generate UVs"... but, that has not worked. What am I doing incorrectly? I cannot imagine that I would not be able to wrap a decal completely around a licensed Adobe Stock object. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Thank you in advance!
Hello, im quite new to 3D so please excuse my question. I am trying to render a multi-part assembly which overall is working well. However one of the parts is a curvered glass lens. I see artifacts when the light hits the lens at an angle, lots of triangles making up the curved lens. I have tried other materials but nothing seems to make a different. I imported it in to Dimention as an .obj assembly as it seems to be the only option for importing multi-part assemblies. I have also tried importing the isolated part as an STL but that shows the same issue.. I have attached an image showing the problem. Any ideas?
Hi,I am trying to work on a 3d trading card project, I can't seem to figure out why when i place a graphic on one side it flips and mirrors it on another. I want one graphic on one side and one graphic on the other as if it is a solid object with two distinct sides.
Hello, I´ve been trying to do my own materials, however, every time that I try to use them I do not have the option as I see in lots of tutorials of people who do their own materials. If I go Import - and "apply the material to selected object" it is in grey, as not an option. Please, anyone, know can I import my materials?
