Questions

Using Homesite 5 with Windows 10. No problems until a couple of weeks ago when the Validation Results window was suddenly free-floating instead of inserting itself as a bottom pane (as for example the Extended and Special Characters window does).  I can move the Results window to the bottom of the screeen, but this covers up the file names of my open documents. Suggestions welcome as to how to get back to how it was!

I am looking to find out help or a tutorial that will use the autocomplete function and connect to mysql. The only other post I saw was from 2012.  

HelloI meet an issue while lauching DW on my MacBook Pro (Catalina 10.15.6). Process stops quickly and the following message appearsIt says that some library are missing and in order to fix this I need to re install the app.I do not know what i'm doing wrong, but despite several install & uninstall tries, nothing changes. Same message each time.It works fine on my iMac with exactly the same configuration... 😞 May anyone of you help me on this issue ? I can see within my MacBook's hidden library folder that both of Dreamweaver 2020 and Dreamweaver 2020 backups are empty, but I can't fix that.Many thanks for your help.Rémy

I have created a manual slide show from a template and realised that one of the images is too large for the background. I resize the image in Photoshop and submit that in Dreamweaver using Put. I examine the slideshow template and the image appears to be resized and fit the template. I  submit hat template in Dreamweaver using Put and the open it using . my Microsoft mbrowser but it is still the pre- resize size, although it looks fine in Google. I'd be grateful for Help please. I've tried local searching folders usind Microsoft for dwsynch files but there are none. Here's the Google version  

First, with the monthly fees that we pay, it would be really great if we can send an email to a support with a screen shot so we can get answers. Oh well. 1. I do not know my passwords. I use a password program to get long passwords. It would be nice if Adobe would let me paste the password rather than have to re-type it. 2. I used Dreamweaver a few days ago and it thinks I am on a new machine where nothing that I know of changed. So I have to log out of my Mac Mini (which is this device) so I can continue using Dreamweaver on this device, my mac mini.   

I am a semi-luddite in regard to code, however I have managed to successfully build a site in html (yes, I was told no one does that anymore). I have a contact page that asks for Name, Address, and Comment. I don't know how to get it to send the information to me. I worry that my email will be exposed to spammers and don't know enough about how to prevent that. I have been doing research, but my eyes begin to cross when reading coding instructions on sites, and I just don't understand it. Can someone either point me in the direction of clear instructions for newbies, or actually give me the code that I can put in my document? I used DW's form feature to make the three text boxes. im using dream weaver for the first time. i am using the split screen option, i am able to imput code on the code screen. the live screen barly works, sometimes the code comes up, sometimes it does not, and only if i constantly save and save again, otherwise nothing shows up at all. i am also unable to edit anything from the live screen. Any help would be greatly apreciated. 

Looks like the bug from version 18 is back!! Every time I type a word I have to wait for a couple of seconds to show it. I know alot of people left in 18 and didnt come back. Honestly adobe I have been using this since macromedia and theis bug is ridiculous and just shows how garbage your programming has got!

I am trying to use Jquery to create click function on a menu. using the google cdn library.The jQuery is not working and shows the following errors: firstly here is the source code that shows the google library.This is the error showing in my "scripts.js" file And in the jQuery.min.js file this error is showing

I get the following message. - AN FTP error ocurred - cannot make a connection to host. User limit reached or not authorized to make connection due to local firewall blockign FTP data. This has never happend before and just seems to be happening with the latest version of Dreamweaver Any help to fix this would be great! Dave

I'm working on an imput form.  One text field may have lengthy data.  When the record is displayed, I'd like for it to be shown in several lines as it is on the display records page when I do nothing to format it.  I absolutely cannot get it to show more than will fit in the input field width on one line.  Not very user-friendly!  Any suggestions appreciated. By the way, it seems strange to me that Dreamweaver does not directly support use of databases.  Surely most applications require display from databases, which means the data has to be maintained.  If it's going to be maintained by end users, there needs to be user-friendly means for them to do so.  I'm struggling to provide that.

Cannot edit text in LIVE or SPLIT mode, only in HTML mode. When I try to insert text it just jumps to the bottom of the page????

Okay have been away from things for a while. I want to be able to point to an area on an image that when ia mouse goes over the area a non persistant display is shown of the text on the picture. The main picture is an large timeline that if I do an enlarged image it isn't really best for people to be able to read the text. I know there is a map for image.that can create a popup with a new browser window. Since there are 9 columns I really don't want to go that way, but could. Doing a popup message is again a situation where people have to click to close the popup. Plus people block popups. What I would like is something like the image below. When you roll over the GitHub hyperlink a preview of the page is displayed. That isn't what I want, but it is the look I want. When you move the mouse the display goes away. So again 1 need 1: when mouse over an area of an image want a message either typed material or a small image is displayed. So a onMouseOver event 2. Then on exit the display go

My email account that I had since the 1980s was suddenly cancelled by my ISP wth 48hrs notice. I can't change my password, whch it is now requiring, becasue it sends the code to my old account. How th heck am I suppose to get around that mess!?WOULD LOVE to be able to email or chat with support!

Hi all, I don't know why but I can not download or upload to my server. I get the message message FTP error of password or host, which I have never changed. My server says that my settings at her end are correct. I don't know where to look to even check mine, but I know that I never altered them since I set up the website 8 years ago. In older versions of Dreamweaver, I could select (highlight) text with my mouse and use a menu to change the font of that text (e.g., from the default font to Courier new).  I have a brand new edition of Dreamweaver (Dreamweaver 2020?  The "Help >>AboutDreamweaver" just says 20.2)  and I can't figure out how to change the font of selected text without doing an inline style.  Is there a GUI-way to do what used to be so simple?  

Hello everybody, I seem to have gotten myself into a deep hole that I can't get out of...I have followed a tutorial making a contact form with bootstrap and a recaptcha. I can't get it to work.When I try it out, the form generates the success message from my contact.php file, but no mail arrives in my mailbox. And I never get to fill in any question from the recaptcha. I insert the following image on the page in the <body> section. <img src="images/help/source_images/quotescreentest.jpg" width="670" height="588" alt=""/>If I place my mouse pointer over the image name it displays the image in a pop up.  But on the screen it just display an outline in the size of the image with only a small image icon in upper left corner. Other images on the page are displayed although I used jquery to load them between <div> tags.  I even tried that but same results as just inserting on page.

I can't seem to get the input button on click to work in live view, however when I transfer it to Note++ or open in Chrome it is working.  Is there a setting I am missing? 

Whenever I open a dialog box in Dreamweaver, i.e. Manage Sites, then open another window on my computer, Dreamweaver freezes up and I can't access the dialog box because it's hidden under the main window. The only thing I can do is to go to Task Manager and force DW to close. Then I have to reopen the app. Is there a way to keep DW from doing this?

I use Firefox and its Developer Tools.  I load up a page and by ticking/unticking the property values I can see the effect of any changes I make.  Nothing new here you say, and I have been happily working on my website pages in this way. BUT today I find this page http://v50.ancestry.higgsy.co.uk/contact6.php does not change when I untick any of the property values e.g. untick the background property, nothing happens. Unticking any of the values has no effect.  What is going on? You may notice the page is different from my other pages because it is a .php page.  I think I got some of that code from Mr Osgood but I don’t think he is to blame for this problem!any suggestions would be much appreciated

I use macOS Mojave.The order of files and folders in the system file manager is: folders first, files secondExample/a/ba.htmlb.htmlDW 2019 mix them up./aa.html/bb.htmlIs there any way to change it?Another strange behaviour is the sorting of folder/file names with numbers.The system use the good one:12...1011DW uses the bad sorting:11011...2Is there a way to change it?Thanks

I use Dreamweaver CS4, ASP, an Access database and a web space via Aruba with a purchased domain:Some time ago I had a site of a commercial nature, within which I had also created protected pages using the Dreamweaver tools, complete with connection to the Access database. I used the connection string method to connect to the database where the ID and pass were fetched to access these pages. Everything has always worked properly.Then I closed the site.Now I have bought a new domain with its web space always on Aruba. I have tried to make protected pages with the same method again, but when I try to connect to the database, the connection doesn't work. Tried and tried, but nothing. Using Dreamweaver 20.2 build 15263.With some html files that my web designer is making in her Dreamweaver, I can only view in live mode. I can only see the footer. Thus, I cannot edit them properly. Any ideas? This issue only happens with SOME files, not others. Most files, I can view and edit in view mode. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
