The last discussion is now obsolete, as browser support is now very good I am using my iPad which i have updated to iOS 10.3, and now has support for css grids, but i will post a few screen shots once i have also updated my iPhone, and i am back at my computer.What i have to say though, is that css grids is rubbish in practice on the iPad.Why?If you remember me posting this demo -http://www.pziecina.com/Adobe/grids_demo.htmlyou may also remember me saying that it looks good also when viewed on the iPad without css grid support. This was because the layout flowed correctly, and filled the screen, both in portrait and landscape orientation. It no longer does this.What i have now is a very good landscape layout, but the layout only fills the top 50% of the viewport now in portrait. It is obvious to me that whilst css grids may in theory be better than flexbox, it will also require more use of media-queries, and much more use of proportions being used to achive a good layout, than flexbox,

Hi,I read on the web that the images for the web, in the bootstrap carousel (or any slideshow) should be no longer than 960 px width. But that info is from 2014 or before. Before also the standard for images was 100KB-150KB the weight for the photos. Before, also the web sites had to be 800 px width to fit almost all the monitors in the world.But, at this time, April 2017, many things have improved, right? Better bandwidth, mobile devices with high resolution screens, higher resolution monitors, and so on... So, what do you think could be an ideal image size for the photos on a bootstrap carousel or slideshow animation made with Animate CC, considering the improvements of them monitors. I don't have a research study saying: "Only 10% of people with computer has a monitor of 800x600 px..." If I go for a width of 2048px, maybe few people will really appreciate it. You think 1920 x 800 px width is OK? like average in our days? And about the weight of a photo, I think I can risk uploading

I'm experiencing many problems in switching from Design View to Live View. I almost always work in Design View and preview in a browser, because editing content in Live View (except applying classes) is a royal PITA. I'm on Mac OS 10.11.6 El Capitan. Specifically:On a responsive site (NOT built with Bootstrap), I open a page in Design View, as usual. Then after some editing, it may switch to Live View automatically for some mysterious reason. The Live link in top bar (Code Split Live) then does not offer the little pulldown arrow for switching to Design View. If I try the top menu bar (View/View Mode/Design), it will not switch back to Design View. It's stuck in Live.If I close the page, and even quit Dreamweaver, relaunch and open the page -- it's STILL stuck in Live View with no way to switch. Yet I have edited these same pages for over a year previously without this problem. Yes, II'm using the absolute very latest version of Dreamweaver CC 2017. Maybe my page declaration is faulty?

I am using Dreamweaver for my college classes right now. It was working fine then it stopped working all together correctly. I have Dreamweaver 2017, and when you have it in the split screen option, the top portion that supposed to show the design as you change things doesn't show anything except a blank screen that I can type in. It supposed to show the school website project that I am supposed to be building so I can see what it looks like without having to open up the browser all the time and design it blindly. How can I fix it to where it shows everything again? I have uninstalled and reinstalled Dreamweaver, switched to another computer and tried it. And even removed my files and readded them along with the styles sheet and it still does it. I have provided an image below of it.

After sending files to FTP is File activity complete, but on the remote server is not nothing. Can someone help me? Thanks.

Olá pessoal, instalei o Dreamweaver CC 17. Realmente está todo reformulado, bem elegante. Mas tem um recurso que eu não consegui encontrar. Nas versões anteriores, ao soltar um arquivo php dentro do código, o Dreamweaver automaticamente montava o código de include. Outra dificuldade que encontrei foi o fato de não mostrar os métodos de uma classe instanciada. Nas versões anteriores e padrão no netBeans, ao passar o '->' já mostra os métodos da classe. 

I have the latest update to DW 2017 that I updated a day or two ago. Here are my settings. I am getting an error saying that an unknown error in discovering dynamically related files and need help in fixing this. My rollovers are finally working, again, however the pictures are too close together and only the rollover on the right side of the screen works properly. How do I space the pictures so they work? I have 2 pictures per row and one per column. Hello, I use Dreamweaver to upload Webpages created from Microsoft Word (saved as Webpage). Once saved, I upload both the image files and the .htm file to a remote server. This has worked fine before but for some reason isn't working correctly now. The webpage doesn't show images on Google Chrome and it turns the Black Border on my images to a Yellow Border when viewed in I.E.Thoughts?

I wrote a html page, just static web, no dynamic content. In my text, I use some special characters that I use this site to write http://www.emojiselector.comEverything's ok. Just the displayed on browser result is so quite different. For example, on Chrome and Firefox, the emojis are not same, on IE no color. I don't know what is this problem. This is caused by my browser, code editor (dreamweaver) or this online emoji keyboard pro (emojiSelector) that I used? How to fix it?

I need to see tabs and spaces on .yml files. Why did you take this away?  I have it set to show hidden characters.Now I will have to switch to a different application just to edit these files.

WHAT THE H*LL. Yesterday I duplicate a layer, made edits on the new layer, check back on my old layer, made sure everything was just as it was. All okay, so I save, recheck again, everything is fine, so I shut my computer down. Come back today to see EVERYTHING on my old layer completely GONE! WTH man I spent two months on this code and it was NOT easy. This design is impossible to remake again from scratch. I spend over $200 on this Dreamweaver program only to know that it F-CKS everything up, and that is not the last of it. I've been experiencing countless problems with Dreamweaver and you're telling me this program is worth over $200!?? It's nowhere worth that much if it DELETED my entire code! NOW what am I supposed to do!???

So, I've been rocking along, finding ways to work with DW 2017 and up pops the update notification from CC. Because I tend to always install the latest version of my software, I do so. Imagine my surprise when, after launching this newest version, the entire UI is blank. I can see the minimize/maximize/restore/X on the top right and that's it.After playing around a bit, I click on the restore button to take it out of full screen mode and suddenly I have menus. I maximize and the windows stay in place.This should have been my warning.When working on a site I've been editing for a few days, this version doesn't refresh. Sometimes it just hangs and then refreshes. Sometimes it freezes. I'm not an web authoring expert, but the fact is, I use DW so I don't have to be. I seem to recall the "notable" feature in the description of the new release was email creation for campaigns. When I go to turn on live view the editor locks up. I can move the cursor around but when I click to edit it does nothing. I quit the page reopen and then works for a minute then locks down again. Any thoughts? One note, I did reinstall and worked for a half day and now it's back.

So...after downloading CC 2017 ( having to finally ditch an old PowerPC Mac running and equally old copy of Dreamweaver) I find that there seems to be no way to select text attributes - family, color, etc - in the property inspector....no other choice than manually coding in font information, or converting an old page to use style sheets.Am I missing something here? Is this a move to boot HTML to the curb?? I really don't have time to update old pages at the moment to CSS....Dave

How do I reset the template settings in Dreamweaver CC?

Would I be a complete idiot to add "background-origin: border-box" to my body tag; so that I never have to worry about background alignment again? I just learned about the property, and feel like "border-box" should have been the default behavior from the start, not "padding-box" (as is the case now).Am I overlooking potentially nasty side-effects by trying to make "border-box" the default behavior, which is what I'm assuming applying it to the body tag will do?
