Questions

I have tried to no avail to re-create the text aligning shortcuts that CS6 used to have when in Design view.  Now, in CC, I have to switch between CSS and HTML in design view and click on the text aligning icons.  They don't work most of the time.  So, I have to split the screen and code it in manually.  What's up Adobe?  You deprecate stuff that really works.  You're supposed to make it so that I can work smarter and faster.  So, there must be someone out there who knows how to code that can help me create my shortcuts again.  I've given CC a chance, but to me it's way slower. 

Hello, I am a long time DW user, unfortunately, and in our current setup we have a server with approximately 300 sites hosted on it. I have one login for the whole server, meaning when I connect in DW I get a full list of sites (folders) that I can move around in without havig to connect to each site differently. This is very helpful, but not a common feature that I have been able to find last I checked (a few years ago) on other tools like Sublime. When I did manage to get something working it was very problematic, somtimes opening a folder would take minutes, or it would crash often, etc etc. (any recommendations would be great). But I am writing to see if anyone else has experienced an issue where pushing a file in DW to their server causes the server itself to crash? This has happened more than a handful of times over the years. At first I wasn't sure it was related, but now I am starting to think it may indeed be related. Hello, I could use some help on creating the title page of my portfolio site. DW is fairly new to me. As you can see on my PS draft, I want to have the nav on the left side of the screen, with the an illustration on the right. I assume that I would be using the Inline-block decloration quite a bit. Is that correct? The biggest question I have is how to go about including my arm/hand, since it covers the nav area, as well as the image. I really have no idea on how to go about that. Any advice would be much appreciated. Matthew

When I try to open any html file in dreamweaver CC I get an "Unexpected file format." error.  This has never, ever happened before and this error appeared after CC updated this morning 4/18/2022.  I cannot find documentation in Adobe for this error.  

Hi all.  I am wondering if it's possible to change the code of color or SPECIFIC comments only?  I am aware that I can customize the code theme file to change various tags, etc.  However, I have a file that someone else will be working on to make minor color / link changes and need to make sure they know where to do this.  So I want to change all comments that are <!--CHANGE HERE--> to it's own color.  Is this possible? The following changes ALL comment colors - in this instance to a yellow background highlight. ".cm-comment {background-color: yellow}"   Is there something I can modify on this to reach my goal?Thanks all!!

HiI have Dreamweaver 2020.Is it possible in version 2020 to make an Offline server so I can see my work while I make a new website in PHP?Would like to be able to see the finished work before I upload to the WebServer itself!If "YES" Is there a good guide or video tutorial I can follow?

I have imported my large but unsophisticated website into a new DW2021 and connected it to my host server. All of my files are visible in the local root files panel, including my Template folder of dwt files, also visible under Assets. But I cannot get the Template controls, Insert>Template or Tools>Templates, to be active; they are shaded out and I cannot Apply Template to pages. Is there a solution to that problem?

So i just started seeing this error. Previous posts indicate that the solution is to modify info in the ssh hosts file and give the file path to that file. But all the posts refer to earlier versions of Dreamweaver, and i am unable to locate this file in Dreamweaver 2021. Can anyone help me?

I'm pulling my last gray hairs! Every time there's a CC update there's trouble. I used Dreamweaver CC 2017 just a couple of months ago, made changes and uploaded via FTP no problem! For the last week I've been trying to connect and am at wits end! Was on phone with GoDaddy... could not resolve it. I could not find answers in Adobe forum. Tried to find an Adobe phone contact - no success. I checked host address, added a new user, uploaded and tried FileZilla, Quit and restarted DW and still nothing. Can someone please hold my hand or give me clear direction on how I can connect to GoDaddy host via FTP on Dreamweaver?? I am not a programmer but I can follow step-by-step directions...

I am getting files disappearing, css and other html letters /folders being inserted into my web site folders, after I save all my files and back them up each time I work on them. When I start up next day Mouse on Mac is not responsive for first 5-6 minutes after power up. Printer does not respond. Coruption all over my web pages. Files being deleted. I must get the missing files from my back ups I took the  night before.   Is it me doing something wrong with the new Monterey 12.3.1 upgrade I was told to do by a lady Adobe support team member as I had a strange issue, small issue now, after all the grief I am having with the new OS. I think it's not fit for purpose, Is that too strong an opinion ??  

While working in Dreamweaver my computer crashed. After restarting my computer all of my files had saved exept the the index.html file, it's now blank. Is there a way to recover this file from before the crash or after the last saved version?

The tile is descriptive. Is it possible to do it? does it have some extra steps? If I do it locally, I have to update all the pages based on that template and then upload aaall of them again to the server.I experimented connecting and opening directly the uploaded template, remotely on the (remote) server, will it also make update the uploaded pages atuomatically as if I worked locally, but on the server? As the Subject indicates, when setting three images to fluid within Dreamweaver, they are not responding/reorganizing as intendedn when mov\ing between devices. Realizing this may prove a simple fix that I am missing due to staring at it for perhaps too liong, I thought to post here for solutions. I have a website at http://www.lesserknownmanga.com/ . I added the Google analytics Global site tag to my source code on Dreamweaver and "put" it onto the server, but it's not working. I also made edits to the website's words, but I can't see those changes either. I contacted my hosting server and they said no problems on their end. What should I do now?

Hello AllBelated Happy Easter to all of you.  Can anyone suggest a good text manuplation program that would allow me to feed in a text file and convert the file to a basic CSS file?  I found a web site that lists some basic HTML color pallets, the text name of the color the hex code for the color and the rgb code for the color in a table format.  I copied the values into text files.  I would like to convert them into basic css files without having to do each one by hand as there are several.  I would like to be able to insert "--" in front of the text name and a ":" at the end of the text name at minimum.  I realize that additional steps are needed here but I'm sure you get the idea.  I seem to remember doing something like this before but I can't remember what program I used to do it.  Any suggestions would be helpful.  Here's an example:

Hi Dreamweaver Pros,I would like to know how I can create more of these blue rectangular boxes below the first one, and also connect the additional rectangular boxes with a thin red vertical line.  See below example.  The file is in  html.    

I used to be able to select a piece of code and drag+scroll it further down in the code. Now I just get a globe and a green plus sign and it doesn't let me scroll further down in the code. Any ideas what changed or how to fix it? Thanks

I have developed several websites which depend heavily on the template features in Dreamweaver 5.5. I have been nursing the program along, but now it will not run under my current Mac OS. I am retired, and while I do not wish to develop extensive new skills, I do want to occasionally maintain and update my existing sites. It would be worth my while to "upgrade" to a subscription to Dreamweaver Creative Cloud, but only if the template structure embedded in my current websites is essentially compatible with the Dreamweaver CC. Rebuilding those sites is not a consideration. I would appreciate hearing from someone who has direct experience with this issue/concern.
