Have adobe flash 11.9.900 but can't watch online movies.

Since a windows update a couple of days ago I can't watch online movies.  I have 64 bit windows 8 and adobe flash 11.9.900.  The screen says I have to install adobe flash 10.0 or higher in order to stream a film.  I have checked and I have the most recent player.

I have also done every step on the adobe flash troubleshooting page including managing add-ons, disabling active-x, removing cache etc...no change.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, fed up with windows 8 problems.

What URL are you having problems with?  Does this happen with all videos?  Are you able to see the animation and Flash Player version on this page:  Flash Player Version

Finally, what browser are you using?

    Chris,

Just followed the link and I have been on that page before and have seen the animation but this time I couldn't see it.  Went to check if activex filtering was on and it was, even though I'd set it as off.  It's like the computer keeps changing what's on and off at will.

On youtube, the message install adobe flash 10.0 etc comes up.  On any flash games (just clicked on random site to see if it would work) it says I need to install flash.  On project free tv again says install flash.

    Using ie10.

Thanks for getting back to me.

So, with ActiveX filtering disabled you can see the Flash Player Version page's animation but are still unable to see sites like YouTube?
