There's a blue outline around my Artboard for whichever one I'm using. I'm not in outline mode. Can't figure out where it came from or how to remove it. Have tried viewing in GPU and CPU but its still there. 

Hi all, is there a way for Illustrator to ungroup elements back to their original layers they came from? (like InDesign does). Ticking 'remember layers' doesn't solve it.Currently, say that I haveBox A in layer 1Box B in layer 2Box C in layer 3I group them, the group moves to layer 1. I ungroup, the separate boxes STAY in layer 1 (when they should move back to 1, 2, 3)Is there a script or plug-in that will enable this function? It's very time consuming having to open up Layer 1, and manually drag the objects back to where they came from - not to mention the risk of making mistakes.Please help. Thank you  

I started using Illustrator 2025 (29.6) today after just a few days of time off and suddenly the program is extremely buggy. I've quit and restarted several times but the problems persist. The curvature tool is extremely slow and laggy from the start and it's now impossible to drag shapes (sometimes they don't move, sometimes they simply vanish, and just clicking on them induces a spinning wheel on my Mac). This is on top of the existing issue of ever-increasing ram/overheating as the program stays open, even without activity.

I think this script is amazing (thanks Sergey Osokin), but I'm having a small issue. ExtUngroup.jsxWhen I check "Release Clipping Masks" and "Remove Mask Shapes" without checking "Ungroup All", the script still ungroups everything.I'm not good with code, but I already tried to find a solution using Gemini and ChatGPT — they made over 50 attempts but couldn't fix it.Is it possible for the script to release the clipping masks and remove the mask shapes without affecting the group structure?You can watch the video demonstrating the issue at the following link: https://imgur.com/a/RXUy9JiThanks in advance!

Good day, I'm just starting to work in Adobe Illustrator and I don't know all the subtleties of the program yet. I don't even know how to describe what I faced. I made pictures of these panels but because of the lightning they are all different tones. How could I make them match one another as much as possible? Please step by step explanation or as clear as possible bc I have no idea 😞 photoshop would also be fine if that'd work better? Any help or ideas would be very much appreciated!

I ran into a strange issue recently, that the opacity of different elements in a file change in a seemingly randow order. I have this file with a couple of process illustrations, mainly arrows and boxes with text, and all is working fine and I close the document. The next time I open it things have unexpectedly changed, so that objects that were fully visible suddenly have opcacity 32%. It is aslo haphazardly happening with objects within groups, so some parts of the group can have full opacity and some are 32%.I have gone in and manually adjusted them back to 100% and continued working, but then the same thing happened when I closed and reopened the file again later. One of the first things I tested then was to copy the relevant parts of the illustrations to a new document in case the old was corrupt in any way, but the same problem happened again in the new document. I have never seen this problem before in the 20+ years I have been using Illustrator, so if someone knows wh

this is a simple script choosing and formating text from a nested array containing multiple languages. A dialog box makes the text parts adjustable. Everything works fine expect the little checkbox which should switch to add a simple line break after each language.   I wrapped my head around it for several hours now trying to approach from all sides but it just won't work. As you can see in the image, this particular file I'm working with in illustrator keeps adding these blue dots between words, hashtags at the ends of sentences, and the paragraph symbol at line breaks. They're not actually part of the text though, if I were to print this file, or export to .pdf, the dots, hashtags and paragraph symbol are not there. It's only in this particular file, and I've checked all the type/character/paragraph settings, but I can't figure it out, help please! Thanks!

I purchased an SVG to cut on my Cricut. The artwork is wonderful, but I can't get the hidden lines to disappear. I tried to use Shape Builder, but everytime I do, I lose large portions of the project. I attatched the SVG with this post. I'm very new to Illustrator and I would like to understand what needs to be done to fix this thing. Anyone up for a challenge?  Please, help this noob out!

Hello everyone. For two days now my illustrator has not enlarged objects with the simple command Shift+cursor but forces me to enlarge images only with the function object - transform - resize. How can I go back to the original function of dragging and enlarging with shift? 

 I'm trying to get the same size for both artworks, in order to print a card, but I always fail to get them exactly: ¿how can I achieve it?

Hi, wondering if anyone else has had this issue, but when I right click in Illustrator, the menu will appear off to the left instead of where I clicked. However, if I right click more towards the left of the screen, the menu will appear in the right spot. As I click farther and farther right, the menu will stay on the left side. Clicking on the far right of the window will make the menu appear in the center of the screen and it won't go any farther than that. Adobe support has taken control of my computer for a couple hours trying to fix the issue with no results. They've tried the issue in a new admin account, turning off GPU accelleration, turning it back on and toggling various gpu options, uninstalling avast, reinstalling AI, putting on 2015.3.1 instead, reinstalling 2017, trying the issue in safe mode, updating drivers for Nvidia, and deactivating the driver. Nothing they tried worked. I've had this issue since day one when I bought this computer in september and installed AI.Here

I'm facing an issue in Adobe Illustrator 2025 where the corner widget is always visible by default, and pressing Ctrl hides it—instead of showing it temporarily like in earlier versions. This change in behavior is affecting my workflow. I’d appreciate it if this could be addressed or if an option could be added to toggle the widget visibility manually as before.

Anyone else having issues when scaling text boxes? When I try to reduce or enlarge text, the text goes crazy and keeps spazzing out getting much smaller with just a very small movement of my mouse.

Hi, everybody 🙂I was working on a project and out of nowhere Illustrator started showing very strange behavior while working with texts. When I add a stroke to a word, Illustrator is adding it to the whole line of text after the word. If I make a letter/symbol invisible (no color), Illustrator make the whole line of text disappear, if the word is in the begining of the line, or doesn’t make the letter/symbol invisible at all, if the letter/symbol/word is in the middle of the line of text. This happens in Illustrator 2025, 2024 and 2023. 2022 has no such problem. If I open an old file, from the day before yesterday or create a new one in ver. 2022, in 2025-2023, everything is fine, but if I create a new file in any version after 2022, the problem is there. I’m uploading a short video.It seems the issue presents itself only with 100%K (black). If the color is different - no problem.I’ll appreciate if someone can help with this. It drives me nuts at this point.     <T

This is a center pt of the circle. I wish to use this center pt as center pt of the curved image to rotate it. Therefore I have to fixed this center pt wheh it appears when selecting the circle, then only I can fix to rotate the curved image. Is it possibe to get center pt fixed?   

Have a large dimension Illustrator file, but still within the supposed limits of 227": it is 214.25" tall, 61" wide. When trying to place it in Photoshop to check placement, the top 10-12" or so appear truncated, bounding box show around the truncated/cut off part. Tried to save a PDF & place that instead, but get a "The dimensions of this page are out-of-range" error. Running version 29.1. Just did a similar file that had 221" wide x `115" tall and didn't get the same errors. All the parameters list that up to 227" in both directions should be supported. Artboard shows the right dimension.
