I'm trying to import boards from PS to AI - the artboards in PS contain a mixture of vectors, and vectors from AI embedded as Smart Objects.  I have tried:- Opening the PSD file in AI - error- Selecting paths and selecting Export paths to illustrator - does not work- Saving PSD as PDF and opening in Illustrator - most vectors are raster (probably because they are smart objects)- Dragging and dropping - no luck- Copy and pasting - no luck Is there a solution? If not, is there an equivalent of Overlord plugin (AI to AE) or AEUX plugin (Figma to AE) but for PS to AI?

Short version first.  I need to export my layers into SVG 1.1, which seems to be the only setting not available when I export.  I'm importing these into PE Design 11. If I open each exported SVG individually (There are about 200 of them so far) and save them as SVG 1.1, PE Design recognizes them.  All the same settings on Export (Except version which there is no option to select), and PE Design gives me an unsupported error. My settings (Aside from version) are, Styling: Presentation Attributes, Font: Convert to Outlines (All my fonts are already converted, but just in case), Images: Link, Object ID: Layer Name, Decimals: 4, both Minify and Responsive are disabled.  It works when I save, but not when I export. I'm not opposed to using scripts, or third party plugins if any are available, or if someone can put me in the basic direction of writing my own script (I'm not much of a coder, but I know enough to be dangerous). Thanks for any help you gu

Hallo everybody, does anybody know why Adobe Illustrator is crashing, everytime I am using objects on path? I am working with an iMac, Illustrator version 29.7.1, Mac OS. Ventura 13.7.8.It worked in older Version of Illustrator..Thanks in advance, K.

Hello!I've updated Illustrator to 23.0.6 and discovered that Alt+Scroll Mouse Wheel shortcut to zoom in\out is no longer working. Now it scrolls left\rightAfter few minutes of frustration i've discovered that now i need to press Ctrl+Alt+Scroll for it to zoom.That's kinda not convenient, taking into account that in latest Photoshop Alt+Scroll works fine. Please, Help to fix it!

Hi everyone,I’d like to suggest a small dynamic improvement that could make working with the command panel more intuitive, especially when dealing with object colors.Currently, when I select an object with a fill, the square showing the fill color stays in the foreground. It would be helpful if, when selecting a stroke instead, the stroke color square automatically came to the foreground. This way, switching between fill and stroke editing would be smoother and wouldn’t require manual toggling each time.I believe this change could improve workflow efficiency, especially when working with multiple objects and frequently alternating between fills and strokes.What do you think? Has anyone found a workaround or implemented something similar?

I feel SO stupid that I can't understand this.  (I am an engineer for pete's sake!)  I have a sewing pattern which is drawn to scale where 1/8" = 1".I want to scale it up to print it.  I have tried several things with the % which is available but it just doesn't seem to work!  I have googled and searched this forum, but am not getting enough information to do exactly what I want.https://illustrator.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:US:b1ac3a75-efd4-4db7-a160-d39d4381b84a

Cuando estoy trabajando en Illustrator de repente quiero guardar y me vota la advertencia de que ya esta guardando y que para guardar el archivo debo detener el proceso de guardado previo, pero aun así no deja y me toca desde el administrador de tareas finalizar el programa. ¿Cómo puedo solucionar esto? Porque es muy frecuente y frustra mucho. 

I'm not sure why, but my units in Illustrator keep defaulting to "Points", when I've never once used points for any form of measurement except type size. I've changed the preferences both in document and restarting Illustrator without opening a file but it keeps setting them to Points. I just want my document print sizes to stay in mm.

I have my HP Envy  in   in portrait mode, i also have an alienware display plugged in via Type C HubWhen i open illustrator on my laptop, it flips my screen to landscape, when i click anywhere else on the screen, it rotates back again to portrait, its annoying because when i drag illustrator to my second monitor, my laptop screen rotates to landscape, i click back on the laptop screen and i rotates back to portrait, is there any fix? Auto rotation is already locked, i tried modifying the registry too, i ran scripts that disabled my rotation sensors, nothing seems to work. 

After creating text in AI, I save as .svg. The text is then getting distorted. I need it as an .svg to scale proportionately for other programs. All images below are from AI. The first three photos are as .ai. The last three photos are after being saved as .svg.  Can anyone offer advice. TIA

Hi all, Been trying to convert things with the DM Sans font (both from Adobe fonts and on Google Fonts) and the outlines and stuff seem to corrupt up when exported. Additionally random corners appear in already outlined elements (Regardless of using DM Sans). Using it on a Mac, tried resetting Illustrator and restarting it.  Thanks! 

Back to AI after a long time.  I am saving files both locally and in the cloud.  In an attempt to be able to see a preview of the file locally, googling says check the "Create Pdf Compatible File" box when you save it as a PDF.... I don't see that check box anywhere....ideas? 

Editing legacy artwork and if this gaussian blur is breathed upon, it freaks out and gets this halo around it. I know this has been a problem for... a while. Years. But I expected it to be fixed by now so I'm creating a new topic in hopes that it gets addressed in some future update. Our workaround right now is to try not touch it, but that might not be possible forever. Here's what the legacy art looks like. Opening the Gaussian Blur dialog to take a look at the specs. Blur gets this nice new halo around it. It won't go away... ever. Best bet when this happens is to close the file without saving and reopen. 

I'm trying to use illustrator actions in order to convert a batch of EPS files to PNGMy PNG files needs to be maximum 4000x4000 while keeping aspect ratio but the actions only allow me to set a fixed size for the whole batchAny workaround ?

Every time I create a New Document and start editing Width/Height/Bleed in Illustrator, it resets to previously present number in the field. Example: you start a new document, default values that pop up are 290 x 360 mm, no bleed. You type in new values of 210 x 280 mm + 5mm bleed, and at random point in time it reverts to 290 x 360 + no bleed, you retype 210, 280 ... it reverts again. Happened up to 4 times during one document creation. Sometimes it even created a document with wrong/previous measurements while displaying right numbers in New Document window. (probably reverted a millisecond before Create button pressed). I didn't test other boxes because all my documents use millimeters as units, CMYK Color, 300 dpi and Default preview mode. This issue caused me to do my work over several times as final mesurements of artwork didn't match the required size and I didn't spot the wrong measurements from the start.Photoshop and InDesign New Document creation windows work fine.

I'm working on a Mac with Illustrator version 29.0. Even with a new document, after making changes, when I save I always get this message. I don't understand.

I am trying to convert a CDR (CorelDraw) file to AI (Illustrator) but each time i convert it using CorelDraw it doesn't seem to open in Illustrator. The latest version I can convert it to using Corel is Illustrator CS6 and the file is over 500mb. Could someone please offer any suggestions? 

Adobe has randomly offloaded almost all of my fonts from my Creative Cloud. I've been working on several projects using different font families and, after having to relaunch and update Illustrator today, the fonts have been offloaded and are now being marked as "missing".When I go to my fonts in my Creative Cloud app (see attached screenshot), you can clearly see they have been offloaded. Now I have to go through and re-add a TON of fonts.In this world, time is money. And Adobe, you are costing me money having to re-add fonts I've already been working with. Not cool.If this is a "me" error and I've done something wrong, holla at me.

FYI - It's pretty evident that .png exports/imports are failing in illustrator, however my workaround seems to be working OK. I can import .png files that were created in illustrator into Photoshop, then save as a .PSD then open in illustrator for subsequent use. Hope this gets fixed soon because it's a time waste using this workaround.
