Hi! I used the pen tool and pathfinder to cut shapes when I was creating my project in illustrator. But when I finished my project and saved it on my computer, I discovered the problem. Every line created with the pen tool and pathfinder is now visible. I tried to change the export settings, but nothing happened. This project looks fine in illustrator. What's wrong and what should I do? It's my first time in illustrator     

HiI'm new to illustrator and have noticed that the blue outlines / bounding boxes around objects are not shown until I hover over the object and press to select.Is this how the bounding boxes are meant to behave or should they be visible at all times?I have checked the View > Show Bounding Box in View and it is selected.Or do I need to create a stroke/fill for the object in order to see it?

Having reent trouple with illustrator. When I lock some layers and ettempt to select a layer on the art board either i can't select the object or i select the clipping mask and other objects. I am using on Windows,  wacom tablet and all updates have been run. as you can see i was able to select all the layers (even the locked ones) and distort.you can see select an unlock is off  (altough it does the same thing with it on)and if i select in the layer palette it works as expected this is a sample file...in a file with huindreds of layers this is making it impossible to work. Please help.

its set to 350 X 100 but it exsports at 145x 417

Is there a way to eliminate the bounding boxes around objects? They appear to be interfering when cutting files on an Epilog laser cutter. I've tried flattening and grouping, but no luck. What am I missing? For some reason I was not able to attach the .ai file, but was able to attach the .pdf, but the results are the same either way. Thank you for your time. 

View > Preview on GPU or in Preferences > Performance is Availble😢😢 What should i do?? 

I'm not able to see files on adobe illustrator when I connect remotely using google chrome. When I load exciting ai files or create a new file, the window opens (tools are visible and name of file is listed as a tab on the top) but the window is black. I recently updated the remote computer's operating system to windows 11, and had no problems before that, so I suspect it has something to do with the system settings. Anyone know a fix? Thanks in advance! 

hello every one i have been trying to make a module pattern based on this video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JZARIfHg2I, but when i want to use pathfinder intersect option it says "The filter produced no results. Please select two overlapping paths"i also tried the solution people gave to the same problem to others, which was using expand or expand appearance, but my expand appearance is not avaible ( its gray) and when i press expand option, it just doesn't do anything, no window opens.so i am in atrap -_-my illustrator version is : Adobe Illustrator 2020

I have tried everything I can think of. It's only happening in the stroke behind the top text. I have made sure fill and outline colors are set to C 0%, M 0%, Y 0%, K 100%. I have expanded, released compound path... nothing is working. All black separates out as 100%K except the top. Can anyone tell me what's going on?(Tried to upload the ai file, but it keeps getting rejected... file doesn't match it's extension type???? So I'm uploading the PDF)

Has this happened to anyone else?When you're selecting between different groups, sometimes it seems like another element remains "selected" even after choosing a new one, which affects the transformation box.In the example I'm sharing, I selected only the image on the right, but the transformation box stretches toward an element that isn't even part of the group I'm currently in.

I have an eight page document in Illustrator and I have shared the link with my client. After making a few type edits and ctrl-s saving the document, I went to update the shared link, but it's gone and my only option is to Create Link. I can see the old links on adobe.com/files/links, but they are useless because they can't be updated with the changes. I am on the latest version of Ai as I updated yesterday. Restarting Ai didn't help. I re-published a link and the issue persists anytime I save the document.I guess this is a bug? Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hi everyone!I'm trying to recreate the look of this design (see image attached) in Adobe Illustrator and I'm a bit stuck. The artwork features:White text warped around concentric circles (almost like a vinyl or sonar pattern),A distorted/glitchy horizontal disintegration of the text,The letters appear to be cut or displaced by the lines, as if scanned or rasterized radially.I’m wondering if anyone can help me with advice or steps on how to achieve this? 

Hi all! I am attempting to use variables in AI for a data merge, but would like all the exports to be a single PDF with multiple pages. Obviously I can combine the individual PDFs afterward, but curious if there's a way to export them as one instead of x number of individual files? Thanks

Ever since the Illustrator 29.4 update, my documents are taking way too long to save. It doesn't seem to matter whether the docment being saved is complex or comically simple. The pattern of behavior is consistent:I save the document (command - s).The system waiting icon (beachball) shows for 20 to 30 seconds.The tab text for the document being saved finally changes to "Document Title @ 100% (CYMK/Preview) Saving..." for a brief moment, and...The document is saved. The delay in step 2 is the new wrinkle. I'm running Illustrator 29.4 on an Intel iMac 2020 with MacOS Sequoia 15.3.2. The Activity Monitor shows that there is plenty of memory available. During the save delay, the Activity Monitor briefly shows Adobe Illustrator in a "not responding" state. All the documents that I'm working with are all being saved in Illustrator 2020 format (.ai) without PDF compatibility checked, and they all exhibit the delay at save time. I tried to install Adobe Illustrator but it won't let me because it says I don't have a compatible pc. I read through the requirment specifications on the software. I checked and updated all things needed but it still says I don't have a compatible device. Upgraded from windows 10 to windows 11... blaa blaa blaa check that update that but it still doesn't work. With the printers now looking for AI or EPS files, I have run into this problem a lot.Is there a way to find and replace text across multiple Illustrator files like you can do in Indesign & Dreamweaver? It would save me days of double-clicking and pasting.Please help.Wayne

I am using Illustrator 24.1.1 64-bit (Windows) and a new Wacom Cintiq 16 tablet. I like it a lot except one thing: When I try to select an object by tapping with pen, 90% of the time the object gets dragged a miniscule distance. I can cntr-z and move it back, but this is a real pain and slows my workflow. I can selet with mouse and when I click it doesn't drag. However with the pen, the instant that you tap something it is ready to move. I don't have the steadiness of a neurosurgeon. Any help?   {Renamed by MOD}

Trying to re-install plugin, but uninstalled version is still showing in Window/Extensions menu. Mac OS. I have deleted everything that I found in Library/Preferences and Application Support... Any ideas? Thanks!

Not sure if this is happening to anyone else out there. This happened to me several years ago in Illustrator.I have an image that is 6 1/4" x 11 1/4", but prints out at 6 1/16" x 11". There was no scaling or "fit to page" turned on. The print window was 100%, just like I always use. I printed the same image at the same 6 1/4" x 11 1/4" in both Illustrator and Photoshop and got the same result-smaller. Not sure if it's these programs, or the new Epson XP 15000 printer I bought recently. I am at a complete loss as to what to do, other than oversize the images digitally so that they print out physically print out to the right size. Is there anyone who can suggest what I can do? Can someone confirm what is the usage or purpose of these add-on in Illustrator 29.4. I found these in my Creative Cloud Desktop App under Illustrator drop down menu.

Hi, Im trying to find a way to add the illustrator file name to a text field within a table in the same illustrator file. When the file name gets updated, the text field also automatically gets updated. Similar to how it works in Indesign Text Variables > Insert Variable > File Name. Unfortuantely illustrator does not work in the same way. I found a script to add the file name, but it doesnt update. If anyone has any scripts that would work, I would appreciate your feedback. Thanks!
