I recently updated to Illustrator 26.1 on an Intel iMac running OS 10.15.7, and this new problem cropped up. Frequently, when I am attempting to drag copy an object (mouse select + option key), a strange symbol consisting of a bright green circle containing a white "+" (plus sign) appears on the cursor. When this symbol is present, on releasing the mouse button at a new position, the object snaps back to its original postion — it is neither copied nor moved. This occurs frequently, but not always. It makes it extremely frustrating to work when one has to repeat the same operation 6 or 8 times to get it to stick. BTW I have been using Illustrator regularly since version 3.0, so my muscle memory is pretty deeply entrenched.

Bonjour à tous, j'ai un problème avec illustrator, je n'arrive pas à retrouver mon panneau calque. Meme en faisant Fenêtre > Calque ou F7 il ne s'affiche pas.

SInce the latest Illustrator 29.3.1 update, the Workspace has completely broke.  I can't get previously save Workspaces to appear, and when I attempt to re-setup a New Workspace, I'm not able to save it or even Manage existing Workspaces, as the Menu/Windows/Workspace options are deactivated (never seen this).  See attached screenshot. Please help me. Why, when selecting previously saved Workspace it won't appear? Why am I not able to Manage existing Workspaces?Why can't I create a New Workspace? Apple iMac 2020, 3.8 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i7, AMD Radeon Pro 5500 XT 8 GB, 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 RAM, Ventura 13.6.7 macOS

Buenas a todos y todas,He creado una caja de texto, y como normalmente hago, he querido crear contorno pero esta vez me aparece en gris (no me deja seleccionarlo).He probado a cambiar de carácter, he utilizado algunos de los que anteriormente había creado contornos, he abierto un nuevo archivo y probado ahí con caracteres diferentes, he cerrado del todo Illustrator y lo he vuelto a abrir... nada ha funcionado.Hasta el día de hoy nunca había tenido problemas, nunca me había sucedido que no me dejase crear contorno.Estoy creando un logo y necesito hacer la parte de texto contorno lo antes posible, así que os agradecería vuestra ayuda. Adjunto una captura de imagen como ejemplo. Un saludo y muchas gracias, Lucía.

I'm using Illustrator 29.1 on a Mac running OS 14.5. Trying to do a simple numbered list has turned into a huge frustration. I have two issues: 1. It looks okay as long as the numbers are in single digits, but as soon as we get into double digits, there's not enough space between the bullet and the text. 2. When I try to adjust the indents to add more space between the numbers and the text, the numbers simply disappear. They only come back if I reset the panel. I've restarted Illustrator, and the bug persists.

How can use the lasso tool by point-clicking out a selection, rather than just freehanding drawing? For example, I'm trying to make a irregular shape with straight edges as my selection, but the lasso only allows me to "draw" out a shape. The rectangular or ellipse marquee tool isn't what I need either, because those are just simple rectangle or circle selections. This is simply an option-click with lasso tool in Photoshop, why not in Illustrator?

De temps en temps, mes typographies se désactivent, et je dois retourner sur Creative Cloud pour les réactiver. Depuis peu, le problème est devenu quotidien : dès que j'ouvre un document sur lequel j'ai travaillé, toutes mes typographies ne sont plus détectées.Même lorsque je les réactive, si je veux compléter un mot (par exemple, rajouter un "s" quelque part ou simplement changer un terme), le texte ne se détecte toujours pas. Je suis alors obligé de sélectionner la lettre ou le mot que je viens de taper pour appliquer la typographie manuellement.Je précise que toutes mes typographies sont installées sur mon ordinateur et activées dans le cloud. Hello, Given that the Adobe Creative Cloud is used heavily by the print community/graphic designers, I am struggling with output sizes on my canvas'. As expected we utilize bleed to facility full color prints. In doing so, we set our canvas' up either at the bleed size (photoshop) or with bleed (illustrator/indesign) to be exported with. For example, a flyer with bleed is 8.625"x11.125" for a final product at 8.5"x11". However, when we input that size, while it is capable of inputing to the thousandth, it save at the hundredth affect our bleed/trim lines. Is there a way I can setup the canvas output to save to the thousandths?

Hi all,Just a question that has thrown me into a quick panic.When using the RGB values for a Pantone color listed on the website, why is the color so vastly different than when using the RGB values?  When prepping something for print and sending to client for final check, the difference is actually quite noticeable, and for somebody not familiar with the process, they might be asking why the color now looks so different.I'm attaching an example of what I'm talking about.  The "Web Color" is the swatch directly from the Pantone website.  The "RGB Pantone" is the color when using the RGB values from the Pantone website (identical to the Pantone swatch).  The "208 C Color Book" color is what Illustrator shows the color to be when selecting the 208C color swatch in Illustrator.Is this something that has some specific purpose, or is it just the way Pantones are represented in digital space?  Thanks.

Why does this come in black? I tried with rebooting the system but the result is same.

Hi, I’m facing a really strange issue with Adobe Illustrator. The shadow option is missing from the lighting section under the 3D and Materials effect. It was working fine one day, but it suddenly disappeared and hasn’t shown up since.I’ve tried several solutions, but nothing seems to work. Previously, I was at least able to copy the same 3D appearance from the Appearance panel in Illustrator, but now even that isn’t working.Can someone help me out? Thanks!

Hello everyone,I have a font problem between several computers. When I use the font sent by the client on my computer with Illustrator up to date, I get the same layout as the client.However, on several other computers, still with Illustrator up to date, and with the same font file installed: the approach is different and the body seems to be lighter.I end up with paragraphs where the hyphenation is no longer in the right place...Do you have any idea why?The only difference between the machines is the operating system, Windows 10 (for the OK) and Windows 11 (for the light).Many thanks in advance

The design file has thin gray lines that show as squares. When I export they are on all file types. How can I disable this? They are on the artboards. 

Bought a Roland BN-20.  Using Illustrator for my graphics.  I have downloaded and installed the Roland VersaWorks Swatch from their website.  When I save as either a PDF OR EPS, the file will not load into the queue and says the file is corrupt.  When I load a JPEG file that has ZERO cut/contour lines, the image loads perfectly fine and will print.  This tells me there is an illustrator issue, NOT a printer cutter issue.  Seems like this is the spot to ask for help.  I've had a number of "experts" help with this and nobody seems to have a solution.  All help is welcomed.  I am using Illustrator 2021 from our Creative Cloud Desktop.

Got my mac for 1 day and i have and issue with Illustrator running on M1     I dont know whats wrong, they can be fix just by restarting the mac. can someone help me? using 25.41 before, and when i got this problem, i start downgrading to 25.31. Hi,I need to export the selection as an SVG using ExtendScript, just like the manual 'Export Selection' functionality. var svgexportOptions = new ExportOptionsSVG();svgexportOptions.embedRasterImages = true;svgexportOptions.coordinatePrecision = 3; It is working fine, but there is some empty space at the top compared to the manual 'Export Selection'.  

I am trying to automatically fill corners, how us this possible?  I saw an artist named Martin Sati do this with his artwork, but am unable to figure out how to fill corners in my illustration.

I would like to Reset the recent items in the "new document window". I have tried resetting my preferences, but that does not work. I am using the 2025 version. Thanks!

I can open the PDF in Acrobat. I get a preview in my explorer window.But when I try to open in Illustrator, the Open PDF dialog shows blank thumbnails and the file is blank.Using Windows 10 and Illustrator 2017

I have a very basic jsx script for illustrator that shows a window. It has two buttons, when you press one of them the window closes. But for some reason it runs the script again that creates the window, if I run the same script from within the Extended Script editor toolkit linked to illustrator it runs the same script to build the UI once.I have tried running the jsx script from the main menu and also as an action and both ways will appear ti run the script again once the UI is closed.

Hola, tengo problemas con la nueva actualización, cuando abro el plugin Silhouette Connect el illustrator se friza, tengo actualmente el softfware macOS Sequoia, Illustrator 2025 y el plugin V2.0.058 que es compatible con las versiones mencionadas anteriormente. Si alguien sabe solucionar el problema se lo agradecere!
