Hello! We are working on a response to an RFP where the Aptos font is required for submission (you will be disqualified if you do not adhere to the font requirements). We use Windows computers. The issue is some people have Aptos installed on their computers but when they open up graphic files in Illustrator, it does not recognize the Aptos font and defaults to something else (I think Arial). I'm sure it's some setting we are overlooking, but we cannot figure out what it is. Can someone assist?

Why were the "cancel" and "don't save" buttons swapped for Adobe '25 products? Why was this switch made? Makes no sence. I am having to unlearn 25+ years of muscle behavior. Why Why Why!
Here's the situation: My job has me working on several different existing Illustrator documents. In most, there are two layers—call one Symbols and the other Text of the symbol's title (think Google Maps locations like a restaurant icon and the restaurant name). To keep spacing standardized, we would select a pair of Symbol object and Text object, which are on two separate layers, then Option Drag/Alt Drag to make a copy. On typical Illustrator documents, the copied items maintain their respective layers, and that's how I need them to be. But on certain documents I've worked with, the copied items end up on the same layer and I can't figure out why. I already know about Paste Remembers Layers, and that's not the issue, since this is a drag-duplicate, not a paste. Is there a way to revert it so that drag-duplicating items from separate layers to remain in their respective layers?
I’m having trouble opening ai — it keeps displaying an error. Can anyone help me figure out how to fix it?
I am trying to save my artboard as a tiled pdf. In past versions of Illustrator this was pretty straight forward and I was able to edit individual pages after tiling but I am having trouble now that Illustrator can only create a .ps file vs pdf, my searches show something about using adobe distiller but I am still at a loss. I have searched on here and for youtube videos but most of the instructions I have seen are for the Ai CS5 or below. I would appreciate any guidance.
Hello! I'm experiencing issues with opening the Illustrator app on my computer. Every time I try to launch it, the app just stalls and won’t fully load. I have a new MacBook, and this hasn't happened before—other Adobe applications open without any problems. I’ve tried reinstalling Illustrator, updating—basically everything I can think of—but nothing seems to work. What should I do? Please help!
I've recently upgraded to Illustrator 2025 29.01, when I create a new CMYK document the default swatch panel shows RGB colours, not the CMYK swatches like it should do. There is a warning symbol next to 'Colour mode: CMYK' which I've never experienced before. My colour settings are setup with RGB: SRGB IEC61966-2.1 / CMYK: Coated FOGRA39 (ISO 12647-2:2004) so it shouldn't have any issues.

"How to automatically create a cut contour for an image without a background in Adobe Illustrator. This is for a typography printing job, which requires a contour based on the following instructions: On the 'CutContour' layer, create a vector path in Illustrator that corresponds to the cut shape of your form and assign it the stroke color that matches the 'CutContour' swatch you just created."
I hope this is a simple fix and I am missing something very obvious. I would like to see the original colour of the dark green shapes in the images below. When I hide the transparency grid, I see the original colour, which is great. However, when I show the transparency grid, and use a white background, the colour of the shapes disappears - this is obviously the way they show when I export them. Is there any way to retain the original colour when the object is blending with the other shapes (the light green)? I could of course separate the overlap into new shapes, but I like the flexibility of being able to move the entire shape around.Using Adobe Illustrator 2025
on a enterprise account running Mac OS Sonoma 14.7i can not find Illustrator 27.9 in the older version section. We need Illustrator 2023 for a Esko plug-in and need the older version 27.9. How can I find it cause the oldest i see is 28.0
Hello Everyone,I'm currently developing an extension for Adobe Illustrator that requires performing specific actions within the Illustrator environment. I'm trying to retrieve the "Rotate View" angle of the active document programmatically using ExtendScript (I’ve attached a screenshot for reference). However, after considerable searching, I haven’t yet found a property that directly provides the rotation angle of the document view.Could anyone advise if there’s a dedicated property in Illustrator scripting for accessing the "Rotate View" angle? Alternatively, if there’s a workaround or other approach to achieve this, I would greatly appreciate any guidance or suggestions.Thank you very much in advance for your help and insights!
HI guys,Windows 10 desktops using Autocad Map3D 2019Opening .dwg files in illustrator is essential for our work. As per Adobe's instructions, we've been downgrading our files to pre-2007 for compatibility. This worked until a few months ago when Adobe forced everyone to convert to later versions of Illustrator. Opening .dwg no longer works, and the program either instantly crashes (version 28.6) or comes up with unknown file format error (version 28.7.1).We had 1 remaining PC that we had saved 2020 Illustrator from being upgraded, unbenownst to us someone upgraded it and we have now lost our ability to open Autocad .dwg files, (2020 version had zero problems with this). No other changes to the PC, only Illustrator was upgraded. A drawing with a single line in 2004 format is unable to be opened in Illustrator versions post-2020. I've read in another forum it may be a format issue with older Autocad files, and Illustrator has only included the latest Autocad file format recogni

Danke!
In illustrator via the Character Panel, Im choosing "Find More Fonts/ Find More " normally this will provide me with numerous additional font options but now its not showing any fonts, not one (1)

An error occurs when copying and pasting the desired color. What is the solution? Since the desired color is blue, I copy this color value and I pasted the copied color value into the line. The color seemed different, so I increased the thickness of the line and checked, and it turned out to be a different color from the desired blue. I go into the document and change the color setting to CMYK, but it doesn't work. macbook pro (16inch, M2)maxOS : Sequoia 15.1Adobe : v29.0.1
Knowing Illustrator operates at 72ppi, I'm looking for clarification on how the resampling works when exporting higher resolution. If I have a 300ppi image inside a 72ppi document and export at 300dpi, is it resampling the image @ ~416%? Or is it 300dpi at the physical dimension of the artboard in inches?Mainly asking, as the pixel dimensions are 1000 pixels(AI and Bridge) @ 72dpi, vs exporting @ 300dpi it's 4167 pixels. The links panel looks like the dimensions match the 300dpi export, but just curious as the measurements are a bit confusing.Looks to me like the image is 300dpi based on the physical size of the document and not the pixel dimensions.
HiI created a design that involves blending modes, however when i save it as a PDF the blending modes don't show. Can anyone help?
I've seen posts about this before, but haven't found anything that's fixed it for me. I'm runing OSX 10.15.3, trying to paste copied graphs from Excel (version 16.34) into Illustrator 24.0.3. Whatever font I've used to make a graph in Excel, when I paste it into Illustrator, the text changes from letters to symbols (screenshot below). I tried a solution I've seen elsewhere, exporting from Excel to a PDF. When I open the PDF in Acrobat, it looks fine, but when I open it in Illustrator, it looks just like in the screenshot below. If I export from Excel into a postscript file, Illustrator opens it and it looks normal. That isn't a great work-around, however, because the imported text isn't in text boxes, so it doesn't make it any easier to edit than the other way. Any thoughts? Why is Illustrator not reading the font the same way that Acrobat and Excel are? Thanks in advance.
So, the internet says this isn't a thing every time I've looked, but I've discovered recently(ish? last couple months to a year maybe) that if I place an image that has a path in the paths panel in Photoshop, it will display in Illustrator with the path clipping my image. The only way I've been able to fix is to remove the path from the image in photoshop and re-save it.Is there a setting somewhere in Illustrator now that lets you enable or disable the clipping path like InDesign does? Is this a bug now? This never used to be an issue, Illustrator just used to ignore the paths in linked files. I've done a decent amount of searching and haven't seen the answer.
I am using Illustrator version 29.0.1. When I try to create a new file, the centimeters unit doesn't appear among the measurement units in the setup panel. However, once I open the file, centimeters are available in all workspace measurement settings. It’s only missing in the initial setup panel. How can I fix this?
