I am getting a blank grey box when saving in AI 28.2, and am unable to save.The same happens when I try to link a file. Any work arounds or fixes available? Thanks!

Hi, I'm using cs5 illustrator on windows7.  When I use the rectangle tool  it comes out skewed which is neat...but now I want the normal rectangles to create with. Where is the option to toggle skewing shapes to normal?  Thanks.  I'm still new to cs5.

I attempted to make outlines using the blend tool "Specified Steps" and "Replace Spine" over the Headphones Path. However, the resulting outline is incomplete as shown below. How do I address this?

So I have a picture that I made with AI of a character, and I want to change the position of the character but if I use something else it just changes little things about the picture and not the position he is standing in, is there a way to change how he is standing in illustrator?

The new version has a lag when you changing between windows of two opened files -> it takes few seconds for a layer panel to appear correctly.  Each update is a new dissapointment. Thanks Adobe!

I am running into an unusual problem with my layers. I work for a print production company. We have to make proofs with multiple artboards. To make our print production files, we save out each individual artboard as it's own file (This is a feature that can be checkmarked when you hit "save as"). So, basically I turn the visability off on all the layers with my proof template, and I keep the artwork layer visable. This normally works just fine. I get an indivual file from each artboard and everything looks good. Today, I have been doing that, and noticed that my individual artboard files are changing. When I open one of the indiviual files that saved out from my artboards, my artwork layer's visability is turned off.  That is not how I saved the file. I re-checked this many times to see if I was accidentally turing the visability off on that artwork layer. It is definitely not me. I keep my art layer turn on, I save out the artboards individually, and then the art layer

Hallo zusammen,ich hoffe ich finde hier eine Antwort. Ich bin gerade dabei eine Druckdatei für die Druckerei vorzubereiten. Diese hat allerdings das Problem, dass die Schnittmarke einen weißen Rahmen hinterlässt, wenn diese ausgeblendet wird.Habe nur einen alden Illustrator 10 zur Verfügung und komme nicht weiter. Alles ist in CYMK angelegt, nur die Schnittmarke in Pantone. Die Flächen sind auf Überdrucken eingestellt. Die Kontur bei der Schnittmarke nicht, da mir das System diese nicht anhaken lässt. Bzw, das Häkchen verschwindet, weiß aber nicht einmal, ob mir das weiterhelfen würde.Hat mal jemand einen Rat für mich?Hier Auschnitte von den Bildern, die mit die Druckerein gesendet hat, wo man sieht, dass die Schnittmarke die weiße Linie hinterlässt.Danke schon mal im Vorhinein.

Can any tell me how I can stop Layers constantly opening up actions/sub layers everytime I cut, paste move, add, recolour etc do anything on that layer. Its so annoying as I have to keep closing it every time, and I think its effecting things like "Bring to Front" or "Send to Back" becasue its reading each sublayer as an individual layer. Below (left box) shows my layers closed (right box) shows what appears everysingle time I do anything, even after I close it)

All of a sudden, I cannot drag objects while holding down the shift key. This is a real problem because I am thus unable to ensure that every thing shift exactly where it was on one particular axis! I've struugled with this all day. Please advise. Video attached.

Hello, the company I work for renewed my Adobe license and I cannot access the creative cloude files of my previous account. How can I get my files back?

Hi everyone, I have created a document for some large-ish packaging (735mm x 530mm) in Adobe Illustrator. I have 3 layers: Markup, dieline & artwork. I am ready to save as a PDF for the printer, and so I follow my normal procedure of outlining all text, embedding images and saving as PDF using my custom settings. When I open the PDF in Acrobat the dieline and markup layers are suddenly empty. I have tried a few different exports and can confirm that the issue only presents after I embed the images. If i save the PDF before embedding the images, then it saves thecontent in the dieline and markup layers properly. Outling the text doesnt affect it. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening, or even better how to fix this?cheers,Rachel.

I've traced over some text using the Pen tool but want to make the lines 'scratchy' like the original text, i.e. not uniform. I tried changing the Brush Definition to 'Charcoal Feather' but that dropped a lot of detail.Any ideas? 

I created a PDF in Adobe Illustrator with a ppi of 300. When I submit it to AdShuttle, they reject it because they say the ppi is below 250. I go back to the pdf in Illustrator and it is 300 ppi. Pls help!

When I drop a TIFF file into illustrator and then move it around or zoom out or drag something across the page over it, it will turn into lines making it very difficult to work. Anyone else have this issue? Is there a fix? This seems like a glitch in the program, never had this issue before.

I am running into a bit of frustration with the Repeat > Grid command.I wanted to experiment with rectangle shapes but it seems it's only working with "regular" / 'proportional" kinds of shapes like "Squares" and "Circles"? Here is a screen capture of three kinds of shapes obtained through the Repeat > Grid command. As you can see, the "Squares" and "Circles" behave as expected but the "Oval" at the bottom is not being "honored" by the command? All I get is a kind of "Step and Repeat":Is it possible that it only honors what are considered as "Shapes"?

Folks, Have you figured out a way to prevent properties panel from automatically opening when adding text to a drawing within illustrator for iPad?  I don't believe that panel automatically opens when other tools are used -- you have to click on the properties icon.  When working with text, I find I'm constantly closing the automatically-opened panel so that I can see more of my drawing. Any input would be appreciated. Dave

Update to latest versions Illustrator stops at 88%. I've tried several times but at 88% the update stops and it gives a blue popup with the text "progress is slower than normal. We are working on a solution to this problem"......anyone?

First of all the bullet points in Illustrator are so poorly implemented that they make my eyes itch.But today's problem involves what happened when text boxes that are using bullet points when converted to outlines, they vanish. That's right when converting text that is using bullet points to outlines the bullet points disappear. However, when using "Flatten Transparency" they remain.I hope there is a fix in the works because this is disrupting my workflow. Thanks,
