Hey Guys, I have terrible performance with Illustrator, it keeps freezing, crashing and just being slow.When I try on desktop which is 8 years old it runs smoothly, what could be wrong?

Why am I losing it after moving it once??

I'm trying to get high-quality exports of some illustrations I'm working on, but when I export it messes all the colors up. I've attached both a screenshot (shows accurate colors) and an exported jpg (absolutely wrong) for two separate files. Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong? I didn't change any color settings or mess with any export stuff, and it's just WRONG. It's driving me nuts and no one else seems to be having this problem.    

Hi everyone,I'm currently utilizing this script (https://github.com/tualo/tualo-datamatrix/blob/master/lib/datamatrix.js) in Illustrator.  I've however been tasked with transforming the output which is currently 0s and 1s into a scannable data matrix.  I'm able to take the output of datamatrix.js and format using excel to create a working barcode but can't come close to replicating this in Adobe Illustrator.I'd be fine if I could find a way to do an "if" this equals 0 then do white square else do black square.  Even doing a format to change font formatting for 0 to be white font, white background and 1 is black font, black background.  I've been trying to slice and dice this script and I'm definitely no expert when it comes to creating scripts in Adobe Illustrator.Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thx 😊

I want illustrator and photoshop to give me the option to choose my file dpi NOT ppi, how can i do that?

When creating a 3D object in Adobe Illustrator, the software closes when the 3D and Material panel is open.

I can't seem to see the option to enable the Welcome Screen for Illustrator 28.0 I need to be able to see the preset and the recent files but what I get is this screen 

I create in AI, then save.  Next, I save in pdf for use when I send to my printer.  However, recently, the pdf save comes back with a blank page.  My AI is cloud based 2024 version.  Please, can someone give me assistance?  This glitch just started in last month/

Hi This seems to be a problem I am having with a TAFE assessment at the moment. I have saved my illustrator poster to a pdf file and now I have to colour seperate the artwork. I follow similar steps to this and when I get to output mode compositions and seperations hot based come up but not In rip seperations which is the steps I need. I have not a clue what I am doing  and need help. I have obviously done something wrong or its my computer or software, I have all my programs updated so I am clueless right now. I am on an older computer windows 10, illustrator and adobe are up to date any suggestions would be great, I have even reinstalled my printer software to no avail. I did note when I went to output and put in print preset is custom, printer I selected post script file and where it says ppD my printer doesnt show for some reason just  device independant or other when I click on other it goes to the desktop for some reason.   

I'm trying to set up up an Illustrator file for a packaging artwork. The job is litho CMYK + 2 Pantone spot colours. The Pantones are 419 C and 8641 C (8461 C is metallic). The sequence of printing is (according to the printers repro guide) is K, C, M, Y, Spot, Metallic. My artwork (partial image shown below) is a CMYK image with 419 C as the background colour (basically almost black) with a metallic gold pattern (8641 C). As you can see from the image I've got overprint (0.1mm) set on the 8641 C). My question is what do I do about the shadow from the Karahi dish which is on top of the 419 C and Metallic Gold (8641 C)? I don't think I can use black as that is the first colour printed (So I'd someone have to reverse out). I want to use the 419 C to overprint the Gold, but the gold goes down last. I assume the gold will be quite opaque, so I'm not sure how the shadow (419 C) will come through with the gold on top? I suppose I could leave tiny holes in the gold for the black to come throu

How do I make the white circles transparent. Whenever I change opacity it fills with the black circles that make the flower. Is there anyway to make white circle transparent when it is used to knockout black.

Just ran into this today, usually the image trace and advanced options work just fine but I noticed this issue persisting ever since the options box took on a new look. Whenever I try to select my image, image trace, and then expand the advanced tab the entire window turns blank. I can't open or close the window through the 'windows' tab, and I cant bring back any of the options untill restarting illustrator. The only thing that still persists is the top tab which doesnt include advanced options. I use this pretty regularly for work, so any way I can bring this back would be extremely helpful! 

I am creating a document in inDesign and have run into this problem a few times. I have several text fields threaded together and at a certain point, the text completely dissapears even though I have plenty of room remaining for more text.

The swatch name "White" is not. It seems silly to call this issue out, but I've prepared logo libraries for ten years now, and this has been an ongoing consideration. When I create a global black swatch, there is always an extra step. Sometimes I misspell the name to create the swatch, or I create a non-global swatch with the correct name, but in both scenarios I have to adjust the swatch AFTER it is created to produce a global swatch with the name "Black."  (original)(recreating) Hi, I was trying to recreate the poster for an exercise. I made the flower with a shape tool and applied the gradient but couldn't figure out how to make it like an original piece. Any ideas on how to approach this? Thank you!

I'm creating vector images in Illustrator 28.5 on a Mac mini running 13.4.1 (22F82) printing on an EPSON P700.My images are printing larger than the document image size. 14" prints 14 5/8" 10 " prints 10 3/8" etc. I'm not using borderless printing. Page setup uses a print margin of .21 in. The print dialog box says it's printing at 100% HELP!

I created a bunch color themes using the dropper tool with some PNG files. I exported these color themes into Library. I made the mistake of wanting to use these themes in new/existing .ai files. None of the new themes will import because the dropper tool chose global colors and Illustrator/Library allowed me to export them to Library, even though they are not supported by the CC apps.  Why would Illustrator allow the export of themes using global colors without some kind of a warning as it does with gradients? I just wasted time creating these themes and now have to go back and recreate them ensuring that I uncheck the global color box.  Also, I'd like an actual answer as to why global colors are no longer supported. Not that they aren't supported, but WHY they aren't supported. I suspect it has to do with the whole Pantone debacle, but I'd like confirmation of that.

I regularly save .ai files in a legacy formet (cs/3) because I need to use them on an older machine.After automatically updating two days ago to Illustrator 28.6, cs/3 files all give an error when being opened by the CS/3 system.Specifically, an out of memory error. Reverting to Illustrator 28.5 bypasses the issue as the files open correctly on CS/3, but this is untenable longer term as it would prevent any future updates to my subscription illustrator. Anyone else find this?  What changes occured to 28.6 legacy file saving? Anyone that can help, please advise. Thank you 

Hi! So I'm a scientist and I primarily use illustrator to assemble completed "figures" for papers, which are composed of many different individual "panels" in one artboard. Generally I don't have issues opening PDFs of graphs, etc, in Illustrator, but when I try to copy/paste, open, or place images in Illustrator they are extremely pixelated. It doesn't matter if I try to save them as .jpg .png .tiff or .pdf I always have the same issue. I've also tried opening images in photoshop and have the same issue. I tried changing my settings in photoshop to have 300 pixels/inch and nothing happened, although that very well could have been me just not doing it properly.  I've attached 3 images here. One is the original image, unpixelated, and the other two are what it looks like in Illustrator and photoshop. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I can see online that this is a relatively common issue but the solutions suggested haven't worked for me so far. Thanks!Jason
