No logro colocar "place" archivos png o jpg en ilustrador

Al intentar insertar fotos ya sea en formato jpg o png el programa simplemente no lo hace, no da señales de error. 

He tenido que convertir las imágenes como archivos PSD para poder incrustarlas en ilustrator, lo cual me está dando muchísimo problema. 

 

Cómo se puede resolver este inconveniente?

Sorry for the trouble. I assume you are using Illustrator v25.4.8. If yes, please update the app to a newer version to resolve the issue. If that is not the case, would you mind sharing a few details along with the one asked by Carlos:

- The exact version of OS & Illustrator

- Share a sample JPG & PNG file here with us.
