Trying to recover an Illustrator file after my computer died

I was working on my illustrator file when my computer died and I was unable to save my last changes. On my Illustrator, in the preferences, I have the autosave option on but because the file is saved to my computer it did not appear to save properly. I went to check under the Adobes data recovery file but there was only a .log file that documented the crash recovery. Is it possible for me to still retrieve the changes that I made before my computer died?

Hello @Rania27215906jgh5,

We recognize the frustration that accompanies data loss, especially when it stems from technical issues. Typically, upon restarting Illustrator, the app triggers an auto-recovery process, opening any unsaved files with a "Recovered" suffix. Even if you unintentionally close the file with this suffix or Illustrator itself, recovery is usually possible from the Illustrator autosave (data recovery) folder.

In your situation, it appears this recovery process did not take place, making it challenging to retrieve your work. We understand the inconvenience this poses. To prevent such occurrences in the future, we recommend saving multiple copies of your active work locally or using the cloud document feature (https://adobe.ly/49CkvKS).

If you require further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help.

Thanks,
