Gifs- Import images from Illustrator to Photoshop

I am following an online Illustrator course on Udemy. One of our class projects is to creat images in Illustrator and export to Photoshop to make a GIF. I have followed all the instrctions, but after importing my files to Photoshop, the Timeline bottons are not working, instead, there is a question mark on the layer icon. Could someone help me? Thank you.

Your timeline should be Frame Animation, not video. Here's a link to the helpx info about Frame Animation.

Hello,

Thank you for the reply, I just imported the png files from Illustrator, and it's set automatically to Viedo. After I have converted to Frame Animation mode, the problem still remains. What have I done wrong. 😞

Please provide a meaningful explanation of what you are doing exactly (with screenshots including the pertinent Panels). 

How exactly did you import the pngs, how many pngs, how do they differ, …?
