I cant open cr2 files from Canon Eos rebel T6

I did a photoshoot yesterday. During the photoshoot, I would be able to see the photos for a brief second but then the camera would stop showing them.  I copied them to a disk drive and plugged it into my computer. I have Windows 11, with Photoshop 2020. I've tried to open the photos with different programs and nothing will work. It just says that my photo is not the right kind of document. I can't even see a preview which makes me believe it's too late. I installed recent Raw filter plug-ins but still no luck. Is there still a chance to regain these photos or is it too late and I need to do a reshoot 😕😕

I've taken photos in cr2 with no problem before, so this is very upsetting.
