Anyone else experiencing very very slow times to save PNG with the latest Photoshop version?I can save PNG using Apple Mac with the simple Preview app in a fraction of the time Adobe Lightroom takes. Is it just a bug in my version, or does everyone else experience this as well?

Hi there! I am a concept artist and game texture painter, and both me and my employer studio choose Photoshop for our content creation and have done so for years. Photoshop Filters are powerful and useful for many Photoshop users, but many of them are now looking dated, lacking in relevance and in flexibility. Substance Designer is showing Adobe users just how flexible and powerful procedural filters can be. Substance Designer can replicate the Filters that Photoshop offers, and go beyond that with a wide array of more sophisticated nodes and graphs. So I propose an overhaul of the existing Photoshop Filters, taking learnings from Substance Designer, hopefully integrating Substance technology and user interface to increase user cross-compatibility. Proposal below (Apologies for all the details):1. Use Designer's nodes to re-build the legacy set of Photoshop Filters, and provide them within Photoshop's UI. But expose more user control.2. Add some new, refreshing, use

I've had Adobe CC for years, and now I can't use it anymore. I'm asked: start the free trial or buy this product. What should I do?

When I convert a Raw image file to JPEG, PS 2025  is showing it as 16 bit. After converting using an Action or manually, when I open the image later in PS, the tab shows 16 bit, the Mode shows 16 bit even though a JPEG. In addition, when I did the conversion, I changed the image size settings to 1000 px longest side and 72 ppi resolution. Besides the 16 bit indication, when I open Image Size to check the settings, the resolution is 300 instead of 72 (however the longest side is 1000 px). I'm certain PS recognizes it as JPEG, but displays 16 bit. Also why did the resolution  not change? When I check Info on the file it shows the correct settings and the correct file size. Anyone else stumble onto this? It's a weird bug. Thanks

My internet connected computer won't run file sending programs like wetransfer and applications like productive expand or productive fill in adobe photoshop program. There was no such problem before. In my research I saw that it might be caused by the firewall, but whatever I did I could not solve the problem. I am connected to the internet via cable, I also tried using my phone's internet and I had the same problem. how can I fix this problem?

UPDATESo I spoke with Adobe support and after wasting a couple hours of my time after which it became clear the person I spoke to had completely misunderstood the issue and was therefore no help in fixing it. He said he would "speak to his manager" and get back to me which, predictably, never happened.Eventually, I spoke to someone else when nobody got back in touch. They said this is a well known problem with Photoshop and the only two things that MIGHT help would be to package the files via Bridge - an option which does not appear to exist as far as I could find. OR Move the files off the cloud to package them - which means I would be basically manually packaging them anyway.  Complete crock of sh*t.  Oh, and, if you do manage to get rid of the missing objects, wherever the hell they are (which took over 4 hours of opening and checking every single linked or smart object in the file - a single file which was 1 of about 50 files I needed to package), the pain doesn

Hello,I'm experiencing an issue with the gradient tool in Adobe Photoshop (beta), Photoshop 26.8.1.After opening a file and applying adjustments (levels, layers, etc.), when I assign a mask and try to use the gradient tool — nothing happens. It simply doesn’t respond or display. The only workaround is to close and reopen the file, after which the gradient works normally again.This bug interrupts my workflow significantly, and I would appreciate your assistance in resolving it.

Happens on my 4090 RTX, with 300 GB free in my Local Disk C / Scratch disks.It also occurs on the 2024 version of Photoshop.The image I'm working on is just HD 1920x1080, and the smart object I'm perspective warping is only 2000x2000 pixels.

I'm very interested as well as intrigued, why is this happening.  I'm also having problems with photoshop and pictures that are in JPEG.  I get things popping up stating ( Photoshop doesn't support jpeg files.  So here I sit with a brand new camera and the newest Mac Pro

This should be the most simple thing ever but I cannot figure it out in PS. ID has a straight-forward selection tool. Apparently PS does not. I am trying to make a very simple graphic to place in an InDesign file. It is just a colored square with text over it. I made the mistake of making the text box first then the square. I cannot select either the box or the textbox to move the text on top. Why can't Adobe make a selection tool that are consistent from one tool (PS) to another (ID) or vice versa. I can't find any useful "Help" to make such a simple edit.I really want to understand PS but it is so not intuitive compared to anything else out there.

Just about everytime I go to edit photo in Photoshop from Lightroom, Photoshop locks up while the progress bar is on sceen and I end up having to force quit. I've upgraded to the latest version of Photoshop but this problem started with the previous version. Anyone else having this problem?

Subject: How do I assign keyboard shortcuts to my new Tool Presets in Photoshop 2025?Hi everyone,I’m on Photoshop 25.5.1 (latest) on macOS Sonoma. I just created two custom Move-tool presets—one set to Auto-Select > Layer, the other to Auto-Select > Group. They show up fine in the Tool Presets panel and work when I click them manually. Problem: I can’t figure out how to give each preset its own keyboard shortcut.In Edit ▸ Keyboard Shortcuts I’ve checked all the usual categories (Tools, Application Menus, Panel Menus, etc.), but I don’t see my new presets listed anywhere.I’ve already confirmed Include Tool Settings was turned on when I saved the presets.Restarting Photoshop and resetting prefs didn’t help. What am I missing? Is there a hidden section for Tool Preset shortcuts, or has Adobe removed that option in recent versions? Any work-arounds (scripting, UXP, third-party utilities) are welcome if the native route is gone. Thanks in advance!Also here my photoshop

When I select part of a photograph in Photoshop using, say a oblong selection tool, I get the marching ants. Is there a way that I can get the marching ants but also black out the area not selected. I find it difficult to visualise the finished object until I crop, then often need to go back and reposition the selection box. I would like to be able to move the selected area around, with the background blacked out to get my composition correct, then crop the part I want. I've used ~ to toggle the brush to clear mode for as long as I can remember, but it has recently stopped working. I checked my keyboard shortcuts and the setting still appears to be correct, but it doesn't actually toggle back and forth between normal and clear modes for the brush any longer.  I've checked several forums and found no solutions that work for me.

Hi Adobe team, I’d love to suggest a small but very useful feature for Photoshop: a “Recent Colors” panel – similar to how we have recent fonts. The idea is to automatically display the last 5–10 colors used in the project (both fill and stroke), so users can easily reselect them without manually saving to swatches. This would significantly speed up the workflow, especially for designers and illustrators who reuse specific tones throughout a composition. Bonus: if the recent colors could sync per document, or even across projects via Creative Cloud, it would make color consistency much easier. Would love to hear what others think. Hey Everyone. I got stuck in this particular question where I want to save a custom pallate but I'm not able to do that because of some glitch Ig. So could you please guide me step by step on how do I do that I have successfully created a folder and after adding the single color, rest of the colors i am unable to add it. So could u plz guide me step by step how do I do that. I have only this particular pallate in swatches. So I want to add the custom Colors in the swatches in a specific group. So how do I do that? I'm a complete beginner and can't upgrade my software to the latest 1s. So could u plz guide me step by step on how do I do that in photoshop 2021 version in wacom one tab in windows 11 laptop. I'm unable to share the pic so basically I have only swatches tab at the moment in my software. So please guide me accordingly n also u can share the pics/ screenshots accordingly 

I shoot in raw + jpeg on my sony a7iv, and normally when i put a raw file into photoshop it opens in camera raw as the actual arw file. but some reason now whenever i open it, it opens in camera raw as a the jpg file. when i open it on my computer it normally shows the jpg preview but then renders the actual raw image but in photoshop its only showing the jpg. my raw files are all .arw and stay in arw when opened. ive attatched screenshots of all my camera raw settings and what opens compared to the jpg and arw.

There are several problems1. When all images have been denoised, apply the denoising settings again in batches. Even if the parameters are the same as before, denoise again.2. You know, noise reduction itself is very time-consuming. It may take an hour to denoise 300 photos at a time. If Photoshop crashes during the process or I quit it without clicking Finish, all the previous work will be wasted.3. In previous versions, denoising by generating DNG did not have the above problems.

I'm having an issue where I've created a layered photoshop document and saved it as a .psd. I open illustrator and select to Place the photoshop file into the document. As I place the .psd art, only one layer from the photoshop file is showing up versus the full piece of art.The first image shows my photoshop file with layers, the second photo shows me trying to place it into illustrator. I'm using '20. 

My Photoshop CC does not have Appearance panel. Window menu also does not have Appearance menu item to open it. Shift + F6 also doesn't work. Is it broken? or the feature totally removed from Photoshop?     [ "2018" added to subject line by moderator, as this post from May 2018 is now drawing replies four years later ]  

I was editing a picture in Photoshop, and it was going completely normally. Then I went to Quick Export as PNG, and when I pressed it, it said, "Can no longer use GPU, so will use CPU to export. You can re-enable GPU acceleration in Preferences." So i pressed ok then, I went to Preferences, and Use GPU is still checked, so I unchecked it and re-checked it, and then I pressed OK. And then Photoshop gave me an error saying, We're unable to complete this action due to an error, and it didn't say what the error was or anything. And then I checked my desktop where I was exporting it to, and it just exported the base image, like, the background image that I started with, with none of the edits to it or anything. And it didn't even have the name I gave it when I pressed Export, it just had the normal name it started with. And the preview in Photoshop just randomly went black after closing preferences, and then I tried to save the project so I don't lose it and when I pressed Save, it says, We

I'm having this irritating problem where everytime I select a different layer or group, the Quick Mask channel is automatically selected. This forces me to switch to the Channels tab and select the RGB channel before I can perform work on a layer. Why is Photoshop automatically selecting the Quick Mask layer when switching between layers? I can't seem to find a setting for this and I'm not sure why, all of the sudden, it started doing this. Does anyone know how to stop this madness?Thanks!
