PSD Thumbnail has an AI icon instead of a PSD icon

When I save a psd file in photoshop 2019 and I go back at a later time to open it the file thumbnail shows the AI (Illustrator) icon but indicates it is a psd.  How can I change it so the thumbnail shows the correct icon(PSD)

    First check your file handling options in Photoshop:

    Then make sure Windows Explorer is set properly to display icons.

     

    And for extra measure:

     

    Try refreshing and rebuilding the icon cache.

    • Make sure that you can see hidden files and folders: Vista; Windows 7.

    • Browse to the C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local folder and delete the IconCache.db file. 

    • Restart the computer.
