When I generate  a word output the font spacing appears a bit out of space. It is readable but looks different in the source and the output (word or pdf) any reason why? I am using Georgia font.

How do I assign a default window for an HTML5 Layout? I'm generating help using the responsive HTML5 layout and want to assign a default window. I can find an option to do this when generating WebHelp Pro. But, I can't find the option to do this in the Responsive HTML5 output options.BTW, I'm using RoboHelp 2017.

I am using RoboHelp 2015 V 12.0.4.460I have created a Master Project and created mergedHelp topics in the TOC. When I create the output, not all the mergedHelp topics are displaying. I've searched and red topics in the Forum but can't find a solution. I'm using an output file that was used before and just added new topics. I was expecting all projects to be generated but they were not. I followed the instructions to generate the new topics.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks,MDawn

I will be upgrading to RoboHelp 2017 from RoboHelp 2015. The promotional videos show Frameless Layouts, which is the direction I want to go. I currently produce the output in a merged help, tri-pane context. 18 merged projects, over 800 topics hooked up to individual programs - press F1 and get the topic for that screen. If (in RH 2017) I produce frameless layouts like this sample:I loose context sensitivity?The merged TOC books are the Icons at the bottom?The Search, Index, etc. are still merged across all projects?Thank you in advance for your kind reply.Mark

I created a new layout and it will not appear in the Manage Layout list or in the Gallery list on the Responsive HTML5 Settings dialog when I look at the properties for Responsive HTML5. A co-worker created the new layout, generated the output and then make sure it is all in on the RH Server. The new screen layout appears in my Output Setup pod under Screen layouts but again it doesn't appear in the dialog drop down or the gallery list. I need to make changes to the layout and don't know of any other way to access it to make the changes to the layout. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The IT dept of a potential client has identified some of the Javascript in my Webhelp output as a potential security threat for cross-site scripting.Could someone please answer the following questions about the following code block?What is its purpose?Can all, or part of it be deleted? Looks like our product branding guidelines will use proxima nova font. This I don't think is available in the system or RH. Is it possible to add a new font to RH?Or does it show up in the list when it is added to Windows fonts?

Hello,I am using RH 2017 for an API reference manual because of its advantage that we can output it as an online help/chm as well as printed documentation from the same source.I have some sections that have wide tables (with 5 to 6 columns). While it looks fine in the CHM or online help, is it possible to adjust the width or orientation of such pages to landscape, in RH?So all other sections can be portrait and only the sections with wide tables can be landscape. Is that doable?If not, any other solution/suggestion?

Hi,We have help content that has many long tables about 50. At the moment we are maintaining the source in RH and generating a printed doc output (word/pdf).However, CHM may also be demanded given that its navigation is better than a PDF, similar to an online help.How do we generate a CHM output? If not CHM is there any other similar output that can serve the purpose? We want a single packaged file.

I have a RoboHelp 2015 project that uses multilevel list styles.  The original project designer named the styles based on the sequence of styles defined for the level (e.g., "NumberBulletAlpha" means the style was defined to apply a number to the first level, a bullet to the second level, and an alpha character to the third level of indent).  Some of the early styles were simply named "FirstLevelBullet", and only the first level was defined for this style.  While most of the topics in the project use no more than three levels, many of the topics in the project use 5 levels and a few use 6.  To minimize the creation of additional styles (the project already has 14), I have been defining additional styles for existing multilevel list styles.I also discovered some time back that you can apply multiple multilevel list styles to the same list in a help topic.  For example, if most of a list requires number, bullet, alpha, circle, but one part of the list requires nu

I am pretty sure I know the answer to my inquiry from some other posts which is this not do-able, but I just want to check to make sure I have not missed something. I want to be able to link directly from one topic to another, but each topic is generated from different HTML5 output settings with different conditional build tags specified. Each output is generated/published to different folders and each one has its own TOC, Glossary and Index.The reason I want to do this is for multiple languages. Users will open the help in the default English version. If they open a specific topic that is translated (in my case to Japanese), there will be a link in the content of English version topic that says “日本語版を見る”. When they click the link, the topic will “switch over” to the Japanese translated version of the topic, including the translated TOC, Glossary, etc.I have been able to mess with the link and it will open the translated topic, but it does not automatically show the TOC, title (frame/l

Using RH 2017 using Printed DocumentationI hope I'm clear on my problem...I seem to get a lot of Section Breaks in my Word (docx) files event though I have selected "Generate a single document" and unchecked "Start each topic on a new page".  This is a problem because i'm attempting to use a Master Page to configure left justify even page numbers and right justify odd page numbers.  Every time, it seems, when Word sees a section break, it assumes that the new page will be an odd page and messes up my page numbers.I've been able to solve this by manually editing the Word document after generating it, but that seems to defeat the purpose of using RoboHelp.Thanks,Rene.

I'm trying to generate Word output for a large help project (over 300 pages in Word format) and a lot of the spacing is messed up -- there are no spaces between paragraphs, or double spaces between list items (e.g. instead of looking likeitemitemitemlists look likeitemitemitem)or sometimes list spacing is inconsistent, so that some entries are double-spaced and some are not.  There also seem to be issues with the CSS not applying consistently to the Word version, as well.  I'm looking at Peter Grainge's thing about mapping Word styles to CSS, but I'm not sure I totally understand it.Has anyone else had this kind of issue?  How do I fix it?  I really need a clean output, because my boss is getting angry about it, and I don't know enough about RH to troubleshoot it myself.Thanks in advance.

We have 2 users that update 2 major projects in Robohelp. They are both using Robohelp 2015 (latest update) and running it through robosource 3.1 on Windows 7 64 bit laptops. The version control server is Windows Server 2012. Up until 3 weeks ago both users were able to update both projects without issue. I'm not sure if one of them did something but now neither can see each other's changes. Also, Robohelp will not check files back in even though it's prompting to do so (have to manually check them in via robosource).I've uninstalled and reinstalled all applications on each machine. I've also recreated both databases and established new connections to them via robosource. The middle tier service is also running the latest version.After recreating connections and databases, I was able to successfully make a change on my laptop and see it on one of the user's machines. I made a change on their machine and was able to see it one mine. Thought we were good until I recreated the connection

In my printed documentation, the page numbers start over after the Table of Contents; is there a way to continue the numbering instead?

Hi,Currently have a process whereby our webhelp authors create content in MS Word 2016. This is then pasted into RoboHelp 2017. This results in formatting problems within RoboHelp which take a lot of time to fix. Is there a simple way to fix this by applying styles from our style sheet including existing 'table styles'.There is a post on Peter Grainge's website in the area of 'Content Creation' which highlights this challenge (HERE). I'd like to understand more on how this can be achieved. Has anyone met similar challenges or aware of a historical post on this?Thanks. 

Switched to the new Indigo layout, works beautifully in my RH-generated output but when we access it from our product the topic area is blank. I made sure I had all the recent RH updates.Any ideas?

I am using RoboHelp 2015 Ver 12.0.4.460Just recently, when I create the Printed Documentation as Word output, the hyperlinks are included as plain text, no links. This has worked before,except for an occasional one or two. Now, 90% are coming across as plain text. It's time consuming to create the hyperlink for each one in Word. Hello,My company recently approved the upgrade to RoboHelp 2017 so we can start using responsive HTML5 help. We very much like the Indigo layout, but have one major obstacle to implementing it.Right now, the Table of Contents sidebar and the content area for the topic/body appear stuck in iframes with interior scroll (see image). We hope to use this layout for API documentation, where the topics can be quite long. Even at a good desktop resolution, users see this interior scroll rather than having the entire layout scroll with the page.Is there a way to make the content, table of contents, and other widget areas scroll with the screen? We'd really like for the browser to control the scroll behavior rather than having multiple scroll bars clutter the screen.Thank you!

I have a RoboHelp v2017 question related to CSS variables.We're trying to implement CSS variables in our style sheet but when I implement it in RoboHelp, the Design view and the Preview Topic view (Ctrl+W) doesn't recognize the style sheet at all. Once I generate or publish it in Responsive HTML5 output it looks great though.Does anyone know if this is a reported bug? If so, is there a targeted version of RoboHelp that fixes this?It's especially annoying for large projects to have to generate the project each time a new variable is introduced to test/review the update when I should be able to just do a preview of a topic from within the RoboHelp application. It also seems odd that Adobe would release an HTML5 output without taking all possible CSS3 enhancements into consideration.Thanks!

I am having some weird "hide navigation component" function suddenly show up in the top-right side of some of the pages I worked on. I did not put it there, and when I looked into the pages that have this, I cannot tell if there's anything different (any extra html tags) from pages that don't have this. Does anyone know how to get rid of this? This is creating problems for 508-compliancy. Thank you.

Hello,I am new to this forum, I hope I selected the right category to post this question.We recently upgraded from RH 11 to RH 2017.Some of our topics contain buttons for which we apply the conditional build tag "NoPrintDoc".Is there any way to have this tag displayed as in RH 11, where the entire row was highlighted hatched in the respective tag color?The new display (overlined content with selected tag colour) is rather difficult to see in case of tagging buttons, as it only appears as a small coloured dot next to the button (compared with the highly visible mark in the entire row in RH11).I would be glad for any advice.

I've inherited a document from a former employee. I need to make some version updates but every time I change the content of a Topic Link, it duplicates into all the Topic Links.I have a graphic which is the source of the link. Once I open the topic link to edit, I can. After saving, and moving on to the next Topic Link, the previous information I changed is in this Topic Link. Please help!

In RoboHelp 2017 the search has always worked in all browsers. Since late last week search no longer works in IE version 11. I guess it's a security issue (I've read much earlier posts), but who knows what to look for? What are the security issues in IE that would stop a RH webhelp search?
