Hello, I am not a Robohelp expert, but I’m working on 3rd party online help that they created with Robohelp. I’m editing and adding to it using the experience that I have.My question is about single sourcing. I received two help projects from them: One is “global” help, which is one big project that contains all the help files. The user clicks the help icon and gets a TOC and all the help is searchable. The other project is “page level” help, which is context-sensitive help where each topic is directly linked to each application page in the UI. These are entirely separate help systems that contain very similar content, sometimes identical. However, they do not share any files. In fact, the names of files with similar or the same content have different file names. As you might imagine, maintenance is a chore with having to make the same edits to two set of files. I would like to share files between the help systems (with the 3rd party approval). I am trying to keep everything in one proj
How do you open and edit a .slz file?
Hey all,After doing some searching over the past few days incrementally, I'm almost assuming this isn't possible, but I'm praying there may be a way to do it.My company has a specific StyleSheet that we use for almost everything. A few weeks ago I asked (like an idiot) how to make all styles viable in the Styles and Formatting window, and of course it was simply by taking off show preview. I do high volume project maintenance (changing the headers, general formatting, master pages, overall look, ect...) of very large projects daily, all averaging between 600 - 3000 topic pages.I've gotten pretty fast at general changes and style selecting, but no matter WHERE i search, I can't find a way to keyboard macro frequently used styles. Here are my questions / desires for this task.:-Ideally I would want to macro between 7 and 16 styles.-Is there a way to replace current general RH shortcuts with these desired styles? (I use a few default shortcuts, but not many)-If I can replace them, can I ju
Hello!I am using RH11 for the project I am working on and I am publishing to WebHelp Pro. What I have seen is that when I view the project on different screens it doesn't auto size and then I have to scroll to view the content. Is there a possible way with WebHelp Pro where I can have the project auto size so if fits different screens the same? Thanks.

RoboHelp HTML 8.0Standard project but not using Table of Contents, index, etc.Project does use drop-down expanded sections. When I generate the Webhelp (RoboHelp, source and output on my local machine), the files generated contain some standard javascript elements. The files were handed over to the development team, who put the source into their source control system. They have since extracted the source and attempted to generate the help. The process appears to work, but on examination the generated files are identical to the source files - no javascript. They have RoboHelp installed on a remote machine and are running it over the network. Is there something that could have been "switched off" in the project, or are they likely to be missing some component? Thanks in advance,Alison
We have been using Roboserver for a few months now, and analytics are no longer recording in any of the Areas we have established. What should I look for to troubleshoot the issue and resolve? i have little to no documentation for this type of problem, but we do have the resources who may be able to resolve. Still, I need to know where to begin looking to resolve. Can anyone help me here?
Why do I see duplicate pages under a topic? Only 1 opens in RoboHelp. Should I delete the other one?
I have been trying to install the free trial of Adobe RoboHelp 10 on my MacBook Pro, but just a couple seconds after it begins installing, I get the message "Installation failed... Contact your server for more detail." I have viewed numerous solutions for troubleshooting and I still get the "failure" message. Don't know what to do!I own a MacBook Pro 10.10.5. I have the latest version of flash and updated Chrome browser.
Hello all,Where might I find additional skins to select from for a RH 11 webhlep project other than the few in my projects skins gallery? The option to import from the web takes me to https://creative.adobe.com/addons, but I don't see RoboHelp listed in the applications and a search on RoboHelp doesn't return anything.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.Diane
I'm using RoboHelp 2015 for my project with a primary output of Printed Documentation (PDF). I'm also using conditionalized text to single-source the output for users who want three different options in their output:1) Widget A only2) Widget B only3) Both Widget A and Widget BFor review purposes only, I'd like to provide one single PDF that includes the content for both Widget A AND Widget B. Right now, all text is appearing in the default font color (black) so it's not possible for users to differentiate what is Widget A content and what is Widget B content. My question: Is it possible to change the font color properties of conditional text, or even have it appear as shown in RH with the color-coded over-bar? I want users to be able to see the conditions in the output. It's a handy feature in FrameMaker (Show Condition Indicators check box) for reviews, but perhaps not available in RoboHelp? Thanks for any help!
I upgraded to RH 10 from 8. I see a lot of old skins in the gallery. If I try to download new ones from the Web, I am taken to the Adobe Exchange site. Do I also need to upgrade to Creative Cloud or CS6 in order to get fresh skins with RH10?
I save the topic, then go to View > View Item. Popup hyperlinks don't display the images. I click and nothing happens.
HiI have installed Robohelp 9, and is now trying to upgrade a version 6 project to version 9. When I press upgrade in Robohelp, I keep getting the error "Your project file ...cpd is corrupt and cannot be opened". I have tried to delete it and open the xpj-file again, but there is no difference. Then I found something about a file called rhvariable.apj. I copied this file from a project that I already have upgraded and which were fine. But this gave no solution either. I also read something about deleting the cpd-file and the xpj-file and then edit the hhp-file. The problem is that my corrupt projects - I have 3 at this point - have no hhp-file. So there is a difference.Could anyone help me? I have search and search Best regardsElse
How do you "retire" or archive an article from the project in RoboHelp 11?
I embedded a video (.flv) into a webhelp project and while it plays online, the video is not as sharp as the original. It doesn't matter if I play the webhelp online or local. I don't see any controls to set video quality. If I play the video in VLC, I can make it full screen and the video is razor sharp.Ideas?
Can the "Show" (all topics) text be changed? If so, where do I change it?
Hey folks, My team and I are running into a little issue which I assume has something to do with RoboHelp, but it may be our versioning system. We're not sure. Once in a while -- maybe once a week, sometimes more -- RoboHelp insists that we're trying to delete topics, usually when we do a "Get Latest All". It's usually the same topics, but sometimes new topics are added. (The current list runs at about 10.) We cancel this request, then have to go into TFS to roll back any pending changes. Steps: 1) Open a project connected to TFS. 2) Do a "Get Latest All". 3) See a pop-up asking whether we want to check in the changes involving the files being deleted. Click Cancel and continue with the Get process. 4) Close RoboHelp. 5) Open TFS. See that all those files have a pending change of "Delete", and are checked out by the current user. 6) To fix this (until next time), we Undo Pending Changes in TFS. At this point, if it happens to one team member, it'll happen to ALL team members who touch
I'm not an experienced RoboHelp user. I provide general I.T. services to a small company with 5 employees. They exclusively produce documentation using RoboHelp.I say this to explain that I don't have any experience with using RoboHelp or generating documentation. I'm just trying to help my client find a solution. They are currently having an issue where compiled RoboHelp documentation does not displaying properly in Internet Explorer (and gives different results on different workstations).User number 1 & 2 are on RoboHelp 11 and Internet Explorer 9. These two are still on IE9 because they still have some RoboHelp 9 projects they have not converted over yet. User 3 is on RoboHelp 11 and Internet Explorer 11.For Users 1 and 2, one of these two users would compile the project. When viewing in Internet Explorer, the main window would display properly. When they open a hyperlink in the project, the resulting pop-up window would display empty.&nb
Robohelp HTML v11 generated as WebHelpOur help system is context-sensitive Webhelp that resides on proprietary hardware with a modified browser that supports Webhelp. It is a relatively small (300 topic) system, but is translated into 15 languages (by an outside service). This means (of course) that we have 16 separate folders, one for each language as an autonomous help system. The software on this piece of hardware is getting to be too large for the storage and I'm being asked to find ways of consolidating space. I'm removing images, and every word has to justify its existence, but it's not enough. We cannot host the help on a server because the hardware is not always connected to the internet. When it is, it can sometimes be with a dial up connection. Can anyone think of any suggestions for consolidating space? The developers look at a lot of my files that are not content and say, "Can't these be reused between translations?" I've been giving the "Not if you want it to work" answer, b
I am using RH11 and converted projects from RH6.We were previously using RoboHelp Server but decided to host our help documentation on a simple IIS server using Webhelp layout. Here is the issue:One RH projectI have about 30 different layouts: 15 versions of the product each one being available online or on a BluRay diskI have to publish each layout to different locations and our IIS servers are load balanced so for each layout I need to publish to two different locationsResult is I have about 60 different publishing locationsI read in the following post about issue of slowness in RH8 when more than 3 publishing locations are configured in a single project Re: Single Source Layouts Slowing RoboHelpI did not see any resolution to this and now getting very worried as RH takes forever to open and selecting and opening layout takes 3 to 4 minutesI batch generate all my layouts and let it run and publish over the weekend so having all the publishing locations prepopulated is of utmost import
Hi,I output my RoboHelp project to iOS app successfully, but the only problem is how to save changes for html files. For example, if I check on a checkbox when next time I reopen the app it is still checked. Can anyone help me on this?
I started receiving the error "Cannot find Microsoft Word Installed on your system" whenever I tried to generate printed documentation from RoboHelp 10. This occurred after I installed Open Office 3.4.1.Clicking the "Printed Documentation" option in the SSL pod generated the error. However, right-clicking on the "Printed Documentation" option, selecting "Properties", then clicking "Save and Generate" did work. Go figure.I am using Word 2007.All of these suggested solutions to resolve the problem didn't work, unfortunately.Uninstalling and reinstalling Open Office with the correct option selected for file associations as suggested here:http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/printing/print_issues.htm#other_issuesTried reinstalling the MPJ2DOC.DLL as suggested here:http://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/kb/error-cannot-find-microsoft-word.htmlTried all the suggestions here:http://forums.adobe.com/message/4173839Spent 2 hours with Adobe support (they were helpful but could not fix the problem) un
I'm using the Robohelp trial. I've just started tinkering. The Robohelp window is set to always on top. I'd like to change that so that I can flip back and forth between various programs without minimizing Robohelp (tutorials and such). I can't seem to find a setting that will change this behavior. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Using RoboHelp 2015 (12.0.1.338), and seeing this issue in both IE and Chrome. When I generate and view my WebHelp output locally, its Search feature works fine. However, when it's checked into Microsoft Visual Studio (TFS) and then deployed to a website, the Search feature might work once or twice, but on the 2nd or 3rd search, the search progress bar shows 100%, but no results appear and the page crashes.Seems similar to the issue reported for RH9 in the discussion linked below, but I'm using a much later version of RH, and I'm not sure the RH9 fix applies. Anyone know what's going on?Problem with latest Security Update
