Using TCS 5, RH11, FM12, all patched up, if I set a marker, such as "Filename" in FrameMaker, can RoboHelp use the contents of that marker to set the file name of the HTML file it creates? How? Thoughts?Cheers,Sean

How do I set a single CSS for a project?Currently, I have linked (I checked, they are actually linked) FM files. The project is Responsive HTML 5 Single Source Layout. It is set up this way:Project FilesEach FM file has a folder that contains a CSS, an FPJ, any baggage (PNG, for example) and an HTM.So, for my project, I have 31 such folders.Above them is RHStyleMapping.css.That's itTo map my project to a custom CSS, I did this:1) Created the custom CSS (let's call it TheSingleCSS-sb01.css) and put it in the same location as RHStyleMapping.css.2) Right-clicked Responsive HTML5 (Primary Layout) in the Single Source Layouts pane.3) Selected Properties. Hi,I am using TCS 5, RH 11, FM 12, all patched up. I want HTML files, baggage (PNG, etc.), and a single CSS packaged so I can deploy it (on CD or online) in a useable way. Am currently using a Blank project with HTML 5 output. However, currently, each of my 31 or so FM chapters gets a folder that contains an HTM, CSS, baggage, and a TXT file.I have 31 such folders. this is unhelpful. Can I get all my HTML in one place, with a SINGLE subfolder for all baggage, and ONE CSS?I tried Saving and Generating, but that didn't work.I set a publish location as a folder on my hard drive, called Output, and that didn't work.The structure I want is:All the HTML files in one folder (with the CSS)A sub folder for the CSS (optional if not in the same folder as the HTML)A sub folder with all the graphicsHow do I achieve this?Thanks,Sean

Hi,I am doing some work in my projects consisting of moving pictures and reassigning them in the projects, and RoboHelp is crashing very often. I have to save my work very often too in order that I do not loose too much of the changes.I am running RoboHelp on a Windows 7 Professional virtual machine with 8GB of RAM and 2 processors, each with 2 cores. RoboHelp is at its latest update.Do I have to do any particular tweaking on this machine in order to not have this happen so often?Thank you.

Hi everybody,I deleted a folder in one of my projects, as it was not necessary anymore and was not containing anything useful, and when I open the project it keeps recreating it, and it tells me that I should delete it properly from the Project Manger.I tried to do that, however there is no possibility to delete that folder from the Project Manger as the Delete option is not active as I make a right-click on it.Any ideas?Thank you very much.

I am using RH10 and webhelp generated outputs work correctly locally and when on servers. I am trying to add webhelp to SharePoint and there appears to be an issue.The SP developer says its this part of the code that may be causing problems. If I remove the code the page opens but without any images, style sheet applied etc.Any ideas?

Has anyone come up with a way to modify a Webhelp SSL that lets you output into what is sometimes called "frameless," "top navigation" or "knowledge-based" Help? I'm looking at what they're doing over at MadCap Flare (see the two images below), with their "Knowledge Base" project template. Can that be replicated in RoboHelp, and if so, how?

Is it possible to keep the highlight feature in the search (RH 7) enabled, but change the default for the Highlight search results box to be unchecked?

I've googled this question and found some input from 2012, but it doesn't resolve my problem.I'm trying to import some ditamaps into RoboHelp 11 from FrameMaker 12,  but if I choose the plain ditamap (as opposed to the FrameMaker ditamap) format, I get an error:Processing with DITA Open Toolkit failed. No Logs found.Check DITA Open Toolkit is installed and working.The DITA OT is installed and working because I can use it to generate output from Frame and on its own. Also, I changed the path in the processing options from the Frame DITA-OT path to the plain path (c:\ditaot on my computer). But neither path works.The old query on this subject (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4921792) suggests back-grading the DITA-OT to a seriously obsolete version or reinstalling the entire Technical Communications Suite. The first solution does not much appeal and I rather hope there has been a resolution since!As for the second, I have just taken out a monthly subscription to the TechComm Suite 5

I need to convert (or import?) a help project that was created in Flare. I'm currently using Flare 10 and I would like to switch back to Robohelp. I downloaded the trial version of Robohelp 11, but don't have a clue how to import my files. Thank you!

I am doing accessibility testing, and am using RH10 with RS9. How do I get the path to my published files from my local machine, when the location on the server is ? I am  having trouble finding a path from my local machine because the published files are buried within the C:\Program files in the server. Do I have to move those files, or is there a way to connect to those files at their current location?

I have a problem with the visualization on the help files, that does not allow me to properly display the html file created.When I launch the HTML file generated with RH11, A message box appears, which indicates an error in the script WHUTILS.JS (the automation server can't create object ) for the instruction  xmlDoc = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLDOM");I'm using a component of Visual Studio 2013 (based on Internet Explorer) to display the help in my program.If i log-in in Windows with another user account (both users are administrators ) this issue doesn't occur.I have already checked the most common cause of this error in to the security option of IE11:the settings are correctly configured and they are the same for both users, so how i can do to make it works correctly? Do you have any suggestion for me?

I am using RoboHelp 10 and having an issue with image files relocating themselves. Basically, every time I close the project and then reopen it, a good percentage of the image files have replicated in the main project folder. The change in file path causes the images to disappear from the topics, even though the same image files still exist in the Images folder. This does not make sense to me.  I created a test project and deleted all of duplicate image files from the main folder. Most of the images remained intact within the project, but not all of them. Can anyone tell me what is causing this or more importantly how to solve the problem?Thanks!

  I think I have found the cause of my RH10 crashes, but I am looking for confirmation before launching a 6 month development project. I am embedding CP7 SWFs in RH10 topics.  ENVIRONMENT  Win 7 64 bit  Dell 2 core, 4GB RAM  RH 10.0.1.292   CP 7.0.1.237  If I embed a CP7 demo as in CASE ONE below, RH crashes while I am working on the project. If I generate, the executable runs flawlessly. The crash is always during development. The exact action leading to the crash appears to be random. The crash occurs unpredictably after working on the project for 5-15 minutes.    If I embed a CP7 demo as in CASE TWO below I have been able to write in RH all day w/o a crash.    What is so evil about the first case?  I suspect an issue with the baggage files, but can’t imagine what.    CASE ONE  The files needed to play the SWF (.swf, .htm, .css and .js) are added as baggage files like this:    The link to launch the

When I run the script Output Generator with Glossary Restyling on my RH11 project (on Windows7) with Tooltip selected, some of the glossary items in one topic have tooltips associated with them, but others just have the inline glossary displays. The glossary wizard seems to work correctly on the topic, and I've tried things like re-entering the glossary items in the topic and in the glossary, but no luck.

Is there a video that will help with this, particularly creating and customizing a single CSS for use with my work? Hi,Am looking for an elegant way to deal with run-in heading and the following text.Currently, RH 11 matches the style of the run-in heading and then puts the text on the next line. Because, in FM, run-in heads with the following style create a two-column look, this doesn't quite work.Thoughts I had include how to take the content of the run-in head and prepend it to the following paragraph? Alternatively, how to do something as simple as change (in RH) the indent for the paragraph that follows the run-in-head ... how is that done?Thanks,Sean

I am using RH10 with Roboserver. Is there a way to create content that can be viewed by one audience, and hidden from another?   Will that require two separate projects to be created for each audience?

I have FrameMaker documents with a lot of reference material (like option name/description pairs) that I want to use as snippets in my RoboHelp project. Can I configure the import to create this material as individual snippets (new topic breaks based on heading style) instead of as "topics"? If not, is there a way to convert "topics" to "snippets" as a batch?

Hello.I know that the Next and Prev button arrows in the navigation pane take the user to the next or previous topic specified in the browser sequence. This means that the Help author has to design one or more browse sequences, which can be time-consuming and hard to maintain.Has anyone created a script, or know if one exists, that can turn the Next and Prev buttons into buttons that perform standard browser actions. I may need to produce a help system (web-based) for a product whose users have multiple roles. Product management would like the help filtered by role so that the user sees on the content appropriate to his or her role. They do not want a menu for the user to select the role as one of the security requirements is that certain roles be completely hidden from end users, so the help system would have to get the user's role on log in and filter the content from that.I know I can produce multiple separate help systems using conditional text but this gets complex when there are more than two or three roles and development would prefer to deploy only one help system. Can this be done in RoboHelp? FWIW, I'm currently using Frame 10 and Word 2010 with WebWorks ePublisher, but could probably get the latest TC Suite if necessary.RegardsKeith

We have a large project that we've been working on moving to a new RoboHelp site with a different configuration; one of the big challenges we're having is updating all of the links to reference the new site. We'd like to update them in RoboHelp so that we can select the remote URL in the Hyperlink Properties. The problem is that we can either preserve the topic, and prevent it from being updated in the future, or we can go through every Word doc and update the links that way. Is there a way to update the links in RoboHelp and preserve only those changes?

Hello, am looking for help with a recent conversion of a project that has been upgraded from RH8-9-10 and now trying to go into 11. Apparently when going from 10 to 11, the author had similar issues to what I am having now and had to rebuild the entire project using existing files off the published version. Issues are: cpd error message; project won't Close Project, Close, or Exit (requires Task Manager); and it will not Import Comments from PDF. On our first attempt to upgrade, we experienced more and more lost topics (had an X on them in the TOC) and finally all files were like that. Reverted to 10 at that point. Have tried removing cpd / xpj / double-clicking the hhp (?) and a few other things. Any help appreciated! Thank you.
