Hi. I have RH11 and I'm working with topics that I imported from FM12. I just discovered a lot of phantom classes that start "FM_SC", followed by several numbers, sprinkled throughout the text, as shown just below in the quote. Any idea what these are all about? It seems like they can be safely deleted, but I'm not sure. If safe to delete, are there any tools that can delete them en-mass?The main downside to these classes is that when I click on text that follows one of these items, the highlighted style in the Style tab becomes unselected. Thanks in advance.<p class="FM_Body">The Electronic Program Guide (EPG) provides subscribers with frequently updated scheduling information for each channel the subscriber receives. Hi,My organization is using RH9 for a Webhelp project. My company and our client are restricted to using IE9 for the online help I have created for this project, and our OS environment is Windows 7. When I generate using the Webhelp layout, with the TOC, Index and Search options chosen, my resulting browser window shows two frames. Left for the Contents/Index/Search and right for the content. In the left panel, there are three links at the top for Contents, Index and Search. When I click on the Search link, the only thing I see is the alphabet A-Z (which are links to filter items beginning with these letters (much like the index link) and a list of what I would say is garbage. For example, if I click on H, I see items like "half 1 2 3" or "held" or "honor # 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8", etc. If I run my cursor down this list, I notice that maybe the word honor is a link. If clicked it brings up one of my topic pages. I can also click on the ran
Using:RH Html 11Windows 7I have a 2 part question on the Link Convertor Script:1) I can't get the link converter to run within my project. I can edit/save the script however it won't run. I checked this against a version of RH9 I had installed on the same project and was able to run and replace no problem on RH9, RH11 i'm having issues. Anyone else experience this?2) How do I change the redirect link back to an existing help page within my manual? I have a few thousand links directing to our website that we want to repoint into the imported content page. Can I simply insert the file name in the redirect link? i.e.VAR newlink = 'page.htm'Or do I need to include the path as well? Thank you for the help
I had RoboHelp 10 on my Windows Vista machine, a volume licensed copy that I downloaded and installed locally, and it was running perfectly. Then, per company policy, I had to upgrade to Windows 7. Did my backups, upgraded and now, when I try to install the previous version of RoboHelp 10, it asks me for a license number, which it didn't the last time I installed. So I went back to our repository and downloaded the install of RoboHelp 10 that is there, ran it to install it, it goes all the way through the command window, tells me the install is finished and to press a key to remove the temp files, I press, the window disappears and there is no RoboHelp 10 in the Start menu. I tried rebooting to see if it would appear: it is not there. Ended up trying this twice with the same result.I'm desperate as I have something to turn in shortly so I installed the trial version for 30 days to buy myself some time until I can fix this. Any ideas? Thanks.Helen
Hi all,I need to create an online help system that will run in an old version of Netscape, on an HP-UX machine. I tried generating Webhelp, but it will not load. Is there a Robohelp SSL I can use that is just plain HTML (no Java)? I would prefer to have an online help that has a Contents (navigation) pane on the left and the content in the right, if possible.I can use Technical Communication Suite 3, 4, or 5.Thanks.
We recently installed Robohelp Server and while the admin client recognizes our published project, the searched term reports return 'no data found'. Is there additional configuration that needs to take place? Thanks!
Hello all,Using RH11 to create context sensitive WebHelp for use with apigee-to-go console.Console allows URL calls to launch help in a new browser window (named within the help project). Works fine except that the browser help window does not regain focus when subsequent context calls are made from the application.Steps:With application running in a browser window, I click a help link. New browser window opens with correct help topic displayed.Return to application without closing help window. Application window takes focus; help window moves to back.I click another help link. Help window does not regain focus. However, it DOES move to the correct topic.I've tried lots of things. Nothing seems to fix this. For reference, my context call looks like this:http://<URL>/index.htm#<id=37>>wnd=HelpPopupThanks for any help anyone can provide.Jeff Seltzer
I'm generating my help file using RH 9 Air Help (locally-installed) and trying to wrap my head around the behavior of when there's an updated version of help. When the user initially downloads the help to their desktop and when the help is opened each time thereafter, does RoboHelp point to the server (location of help files) each time the user opens the help from their desktop, or are the help files downloaded to the user's desktop? (The latter doesn't seem right if I can auto-update the help contents for locally-installed help.) And if there's an update to the help file, the user is notified of the update, correct? I've worked with RoboHelp (mainly WebHelp) for several years and love the look/feel of AirHelp and its capabilities. I'm just stumped on this one area--one which I need to be ready to answer when I speak with our developers tomorrow. Please help!
HI everyone. Easter wishes in advance.I have a problem while importing word document to Robohelp.Version - MS Word 2010Robohelp 9While I import word document to Robohelp after mapping styles, my heading styles are getting tagged as bookmarks in RH.I have customized word template along with customized RH css. How can I prevent the headings (all the heading level used in a document) getting tagged as bookmark after I import word docs to RH.If there is no solution is there any solution to remove bookmarks at one go from RH.Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
We are writing documentation in Robohelp. The language we are using is Norwegian. When exporting the help from Robohelp, the exported file structure will contain the name of the folders and topics. Some of our topics has Norwegian characters e.g. "Søk". Since the environment settings differ on the servers (language and character encoding) the name of the files in the file structure will be renamed if it contains any kind of Norwegian characters, e.g. the topic "Søk" will be renamed to "Sok" at the file structure. Are there any kind of solution on this issue?
Can custom fonts be added to Robohelp HTML version 11?
Hi all,I am not sure whether this is a bug or can be fixed. When I import from FM using chapter title paragraph styles for breaking the content into topics, then RH inserts the resulting file names into the topic as <title> elements and not the title names themselves. This is no problem as long as you can use the default naming convention (i.e. heading and filename identical). For some output formats hovever it is necessary to use a different naming convention to avoid non-english characters in file names. In such a case I use <n> as naming, resulting in files that have ascending numbers as file names. Now I receive e.g. a topic with the h1 heading "This is my topic", the filename "123.htm" and the HTML title "123". That is very bad because in the search results e.g. in Javahelp the HTML titles are displayed, resulting in unusable search results.Do you have any suggestions how to avoid this dilemma?Robert
My team is running into a problem with auto generated lists in RH10. When you create a bullet/numbered list in RH or import a document with bullet/numbered lists, the lists show up correctly in design view. However, once you view the topic in a web browser, the bullet points and numbers appear to the far left. Anyone have any ideas on what's going on and how we can fix this? I've included images below.Design view (shows correctly):Web broswer view (issue is appearing in both IE and Chrome):
I have tried to create a silent install for Adobe Roboehelp 11 using AAMEE v. 3.1 but after inserting "product installation folder", "package name" and "save to" and choosing "next" the picture just greys out.If if choose "next" again I get to the options page but it is empty.I tried using an older version of AAMEE and here I can create an unserialized build but it wont accept the my license code (which works fine if I install manually)Does anyone know how to solve this?I am using Windows 7 Enterprise Edition 64 bit.Best Regards,Christian Roejbaek
Please help - this issue is sapping up valuable hours and I can't find a solution. I've created a nice new responsive HTML 5 layout in RoboHelp 11 - however the Title Bar font is not rendering the size as stipulated in the editor. This seems to be project specific as I can use stock and other Screen Layouts with the same result. I exported my custom Responsive Layout into a new project and it behaved as it should. The generated result I get (illustrated above) has an incorrect font size in the Title Bar, the point size of this font should be much larger. I've checked through just about every project setting and I have no idea why it is doing this.Doing the same with the stock Responsive Screen Layout:Is someone able to shed some light on this, your recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Hello - I am trying to migrate an entire help system built in "Doc to Help" over to Adobe Robohelp as seamlessly as possible.Any/all comments or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks everyone - Cheers, Keith (techwriterguy)
I purchased Adobe Technical Suite 2.0 several years ago and it's worked super on my Windows XP PC. I've installed the suite on my new PC with Windows 7, but when I try to open a help project using RoboHelp 8 I get the following error message:"This project is from a vewer version of the program. This project is no longer compatible with this version. Please make sure you have the newest version installed."My department cannot purchase a newer version of Adobe Technical Suite this year, so I have to continue using RoboHelp 8. Please advise as to what I need to do in order to edit my current Help Projects using RoboHelp 8 on my new PC with Windows 7.Thanks!
Hello,I am contemplating creating a new project from scratch from the monster that my current RH9 HTML project has become. I would appreciate advice on whether this is the best approach and if so, how to proceed. Here is background:I have an RH9 HTML project with 3500+ topics. This project was created with the first version of RoboHelp, back in the Blue Sky software days, about 15 years ago. Each time the RH software was sold to a new company, we ran into major issues with conversions and upgrades. The project kept growing and several times we ran into problems that had to be escalated to the top levels of support with the current owner of the software. Many times the best we could do is create workarounds. The number of files created over the years for this project has become enormous and I'm sure there are many which could be safely deleted but I'm not sure how to find out which ones without lots of trial and painful error. The most recent issue that came up was the sudden disappearan
I just upgraded from TCS 3.5 to TCS 5.I use FM as my source and RH WebHelp as my output. My numbered lists all start at 0 now. Before I upgraded, In RH 9 (TCS 3.5), I created RH Styles and used the following numbering format: Format: <x>Numbering: decimal: 123Prefix Style: NoneI mapped my FM style to the RH Style.Numbers worked fine:Now, they are all zeros:When I open a topic and look at the HTML page, it has added this: start="0"If I delete the start="0" text and then click back on the Design Tab, the numbers appear:Where is the 0 coming from? I can't find a setting anywhere.Thanks.

But i am getting an error ActiveX control '8856f961-340a-11d0-a96b-00c04fd705a2' cannot be instantiated because the current thread is not in a single-threaded apartment.WebBrowser m_browser = new WebBrowser();if (m_browser != null){m_browser.Navigate(strURL);m_browser.Visible =true;return true;}return false;is giving issue because mine is webapplication. the solution they say is add STTHREAD section. Can anybody guide me in proper direction in integrating the .Net web application with robohelp.
HiI am using FM11. RH10 as part of TCS4.Last year I had created a master page and settings file (ISF). We are now revising it. Some of our styles have images associated with them (Style name > Format > Borders and Shading > Shading > Pattern). My workflow:1. Open a blank RH project.2. Link FM book. All the FM files are imported. But there are no images in the Project Manager pod > Images folder yet.3. Associate and apply the ISF file. Images show up in the Images folder. But they have this X mark against them. So I assume they are just some sort of placeholders yet. I check the topic where these images are used. They are empty as well.4. Import the master page. I get a message that images are also imported. The X mark against the images are gone and they show up in the topic as well. That is how it worked in the previous version, which was correct. Now, that is not happening. Steps 1 to 3 work fine. But when I import the mast
Hi,I am using RH 10 for the past few months.I had imported few html files (with images) into RH and they seem to appear fine on preview (view selected item)But while publishing into pdf, I find the images are missing the printed output. But the content remains the same. Why is this so?Please help me.regards,Nalini
I have recently been migrated to Windows 7 (from XP) and at the same time needed to upgrade from Robo 8 to version 10. Once I upgraded my child project files and master project (no choice), my child projects simply blink or strobe when I try to view them in the Master. My users prefer to use the consolidated master project view (one access point) as opposed to multiple access points for each of my child projects (I have 14!!). I have read the Merged webhelp guide prepared by Peter Grainge but I am confused about the redirect which is something I've never had to do before. The Robohelp 10 Guide does not mention anything about a redirect. How do I get my Master project back on track? Any suggestions?
On May 17th I purchased three software applications: Adobe RoboHelp 11, Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and Adobe Captivate 7. I’ve spent a few hours on the phone with a technical person. The issues were too complex to be dealt with, and I knew I needed to have my issues escalated. I’ve also printed a wide range of “how to” from your support pages. I finally gave up. I’m beginning to get frustrated to the max. I’ve purchased other software programs and the Adobe products are the only applications I cannot easily install. It is hard for me to spend hours day after day trying to get to the right person. I’m going to give a summary of my problems. Please take this and escalate it. I’ve also purchased a new computer. I scoped out the requirements for these three programs with specifications in mind. This should not be an issue. The best way to reach me is my email vs. phone. When I get instructions for how to proceed, I prefer a one-on-one with the phone. The preferred number is: 561-366-7122.Error M
When I generated WebHelp with an old (~v5) version of RoboHelp I got the TOC in a panel down the left hand side of the screen. I am now using RH v10 and I don't get the panel on the left. The TOC appears at the top of the document (when I look at the html file in IE9) and the links work correctly. Can anyone tell me how get the TOC panel on the left?
