When we go into the software and hit F1, it goes into Chrome.  All you see it a white screen and the web page address.  If you copy the address and put it in Internet Explorer it will open.  We think it has something to do with the latest Chrome update.  We use RoboHelp 10.  Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm using RH 9, and for some reason, in our printed output, the white space between ordered lists and unordered lists doesn't match the equivalent lists in the printed output. Here's what it looks like in the online output. This is the amount of spacing we want between our paragraphs:But here's what the printed output looks like. The list items are too close together. Obviously, I can fix it post processing on the .doc file, but why is this even happening. Shouldn't it look the same if I'm using the project style sheet for both outputs? Am I missing something? I would like to create an image map using certain text that resides in the same topic as the image. I do not want the user to see the text when viewing online; I only want them to see the pop-up when they click on the mapped image. I do, however, want the text to print if the user chooses to do so. I've been playing around with bookmarks and conditional flags but can't seem to get it to function properly. Can what I'm trying to do be done?

Windows 7RoboHelp 9.0.2.271Word 2010I am having an on again/off again problem with RH not publishing all topics.The topics are in the RH TOC and when I double-click them while in RH, they open for editing. However, when I publish these same topics, they are not in the Word document--although they are in the web help.Previous fixes include rebuilding the TOC (groan) or finding that rogue piece of code that causes topics not to print in Word or web help.Question 1:  Does anyone know why this is happening?Question 2:  Short of manually comparing RH TOCs against Word and web help (for 13 books), does anyone have any ideas on how to ensure all topics are included in the output?Thanks in advance for any help.Mary

I am not sure if I am asking this in the the correct place.  We are going to be using Robohelp/WebHelp to build our Help section for an Website Application.  What we are also lookign to do with it is maintain various tooltips etc... that are attached to sections of the actual site.  Does WebHelp or RoboHelp have a function that will allow it to export an XML file with something like a map id and a line of text.  So that we could call the XML and display the text in a tooltipex:In the help section there is a Topic for how to use a search function.We want to pull just the text from that and display it also as a tooltip inside the section of the site that search appears in.

how to create context sensitive help in multiple languages using robohelp html 9, can anyone help?

When we try to publish a single file or layout from RoboHelp 10 we get an "access denied" error.  To mitigate the problem, we have to take the full folder of files and publish the whole project which takes us about 4 to 5 hours to publish one change to a file.  The process updates the entire project instead of recognizing the change that was made to that one file and publishing that one file.

Hello there,I'm getting creazy with that Topic TOC. The show/hide doens't work anymore. If i push the link (show/hide) nothing happens. If I make a new Project it works correctly but if i make a new page in the existsting project the links still dont work. Has anyone a idea what the problem could be?thanks 4 help

Problem Solved: Camtasia default video compression setting must be changed to Windows 1Hi,Have 3 videos, 2 .avi and 1 .wmv. .wmv created as a test, ie. not .avi. All created in Camtasia.Inserted in project using Insert > Multimedia/demo.Videos are in the same folder as topic calling them.Compile .chmAll works on my PC. Also works on another PC, (where RH 10 trial was installed. Trial expired).Videos will NOT play on any other PC. Only unclickable link appears. Does having RH installed or "once upon a time" installed on a PC make a difference?1 workaround seems to be, placing video files in same folder as compiled .chm. However, Dev. wants to avoid shipping vid. files with application.Seems to be a pretty common topic across the internet, but haven't found a complete solution.Any ideas?Message was edited by: david_aker

I get the following message sometimes when I edit a topic but definitely don't get near the header or footer.  Then as soon as I save the topic, I lose my Master Page connection to it.  And I have to go into Properties for that topic and pick the master page again!!  This started one day after using RoboHelp HTML for a month.  Does anyone else have this problem?

Hi,I created a skin for my webhelp project and although the webhelp is generated with that skin, the skin name will not show in the list of skins in the Project Set-Up pod. As I want to edit it, it is rather annoying.I have tried importing the skin again but am getting a message to say the skin is already present in the project.The skin was created in an earlier version of Robohelp, as was the project. Both have now migrated to RoboHelp 10 - I don't know if that is a factor.Appreciate your help.Barbara

Hi, is there a way to show last updated date in the breadcrumb area of webhelp in Robohelp 10?Please see the image below. I tried doing it and I can do it only if I append this date to the logo.. But I don't want the date to be displayed along with the logo. Can the last updated date be shown above the search bar? (as maked in the image below)?

Is it possible to color code changes in RH?After publishing, the content different from previous version should displayed in different color.  This will help the readers to easily identify what has been changed.

What does a Reviewer need to review a topic? As far as I undertand, Reviewer needs to have RoboHelp installed on his PC, or a PDF for Review has to be sent to the reviewer.In terms of the contribution end, AIR content has to be used.Kindly discuss on this.

I'm working in RH HTML 9 and am working on a project where there will be at least 2 versions of help documentation. One version for basic functionality, to be used by a novice user and another for advanced functionality, to be used by a advanced user. The basic functionality needs to viewable by both the novice and the advanced users with the advanced user being able to find help on a few more windows/fields/options. The programmer asked if an existing topic can be imported to another topic. I am already using conditional tags to exclude certain topic from the novice user version. Another way I could do this is to provide a link from the advanced user page to the novice user page.Thank you,dpeterson8022

     I am working with the robohelp_csh.js file from Robohelp 10 and it appears to be very old last copywrite is in 2008 and contains no reference to firefox or IE versions greater then 5.  Is there a newer version of this file or an alternative?

I'm generating a WebHelp files and it's generating and giving me all kinds of funky characters through the Help file -->  example, Elizabeth’. Our standard browser is IE 8 and if I right click in the browser and switch the Encoding to Unicode UTF-8 it translates the word perfectly. Unfortunately, it's always generating as Western which is creating these funky characters.  Is there an option to change so it will generate the Help as Unicode UTF-8? I've read and tried everything. Help please.

I need to install the RH10 demo with captivate on a machine with RH9. Will that create any problems?

I am using RoboHelp 7 and have an existing project created with over 2000 topics.  All these topics get updated regularly.  My question is that if I have to update say 4 or 5 existing topics plus create new topics, in order for this to reflect correctly when our DBA's roll this out to our clients on the online help, they have to copy the entire directory, which is massive.  Isnt there a way of just updating those 4 or 5 topics or any new topics, and only rolling out those topics.  We have clients all over the world and it is so time consuming with line speed etc, especially Africa lines.I have also been told the following (see below) and have tried this, but it doesnt work, i.e. pictures and icons dont appear.  What you need to copy is any new / changed help files, e.g., f301.htm, and the index.hhk and toc.hhc files. These are the index and table of contents files. Those are only really needed if there have been new index or table of contents entries, i.e. for

I'm using RH10 and outputting to WebHelp. My company requires that I archive project source files to our CVS via Eclipse. I am not using RoboSource_Control and must use the company's development resources for archiving. Since archiving the initial project, I have been uploading only source files with modified dates.However, I have discovered that the files I thought were storing user variables and build tags are not the correct files to archive. Since I am uploading all files with a newer date and that's not working, I need to know the user variable source file name and the build tag source file name that stores the currently defined variables and build tags. I have already tried the WebHelp forum and was directed to this forum to pose the question because I'm looking for source file information instead of output file information.Thanks for your help!karen

Robohelp10 is working good with SP2013 so far.  And I am using SP2013 for Version control in RH. If SP is disconnected and if I hit the Generate-->Primary Layout then RH is giving the following error a thousand times, once is enough right?  with so many message boxed and clicking OKs I cannot work or do any thing.The remote name could not be resolved: '<servername>'Is there any solution or workaround for this?

Hi, So I have these hotspots working just fine on the project. The clickable portion has a hover dhtml effect on it. I managed to publish the htm file of the topic onto my website and now the hotspot doesn't work. It just has the expanded contents sitting underneath the hovering title. Any ideas on how to get these hotspots to work on IE?
