Robohelp 10 project generated primary webhelp unable to open TOC in google chrome? Is there any solution to this problem.

When I attempt to import a screen layout in RH10, RoboHelp hangs and I have to close the application using Task Manager.When I restart RH, the screen layout I imported is in the list of layouts, however it includes only two files and judging from the icons of those files, they are the Search Results Page and the Topic Page.When I right-click the layout and choose Explore, I see that the folder for the screen layout includes many files (approximately 70). I can generate the help using the imported screen layout but it doesn't appear as it should. This seems like a bug but I can't find any info on it anywhere. Any help is appreciated.

I have upgraded to RH 10 and applied the patch for IE 10 compatibility. When I use the index in compiled webhelp, the index's pop-up menu that displays the names of topics associated with a keyword does not display all the topics associated with some keywords. The menu uses a serif font that is larger than shown in the same index when viewed in IE 9, and i believe that if I could make that font smaller, it would display all the topic names correctly.This issue was described in the discussion "RH 10 issue with IE 10". However that discussion was garbled by users asking other questions & there was no clear response.Does anyone actually know how I can change the font used in the pop-up menu? There was a suggestion in the other discussion that the font size is controlled by IE, not by RoboHelp. In IE, the instructions say that the selectable font is used when a web page doesn't specify a font. If that is the case, then I need instructions on what to change to specify the font.The answe

I have a Parent project with mulitple child projects. Everything worked fine in RH9 with file mapping and CSH.  I converted my RH9 projects individually by opening them in RH10. For each project, I saw the following message and chose to upgrade:I then just let RH10 'do it's thing' and got a message that the project was successfully upgraded:For each project, I noticed that when I went to check my Map File, some Map ID's had topics assigned, while others seemed to have lost their assignment during the conversion (example below):I noticed that if I exited RH10, then went back in, they system found all the 'lost' Topic assignments automatically:I figured everything was fine with the Map ID's and assignments and then just generated every child project (and the parent project) in RH10.  Now I'm spot testing some of the help topics in our program and am finding that pressing <F1> to access CSH pages is hit and miss. I am hoping someone can help me here.I'm using Robohelp 6.0 and outputting to a CHM file (Robohtml). I have a separate .htm file with 3 associated files (.flv (flash video), .js, .swf (controller), and .xml (settings) file). This is our training library in video format which is embedded in the .htm file. It was made using Camtasia. What I would like to do is either one of the following:1. Create a relative link from the .chm file to the .htm file which is outside the project.2. Include everything in the baggage files and run it from inside the .chm file.My results were as follows:1. No matter what I try, I cannot seem to access the .htm file from the Robohelp output using a relative link. I ensured that all the files were in a single directory where the chm file is located, so I know the paths are correct. It's as if Robohelp can only create links for absolute paths? Is this really the case? Also, I don't need the files to be included in the project. I just need to access that .htm fil

I've found some really strange issues converting RH9 projects to RH10. One of the things I noticed is the Text fomatting issue. In RH9, every page I created would have it's own .css page, which are listed in the Project Master -> Project Files folder. RH9 would apply every .css to the individual pages I had automatically.  Now in RH10, I found that none of the .css pages were being applied, and I have to pick one in the WebHelp settings and select "Apply to All".  Not sure why this has changed but it was the only thing that would make all pages of my project have the same Styles and Formatting:

I have used this exact setup to import other, longer, more complicated books without issue. I have even imported earlier versions of this book numerous time without problem. A few months ago I needed a new version and it started this crash routine. On a different chapter each time. Sometimes it would crash right away, other times it would nearly complete the book before going down. I was finally able to import the book and have been making updates in parallel with both programs rather than going through this import crash issue again.It is at the point that the new changes make this workflow untenable. Why? Because I want to add custom meta tags to that source file so that when a new topic is created or republished, the custom meta tags are included, thus authors will not have to manually add them to topics, either new or old. Is it possible to have the navigation links Contents, Index, Search and Glossary appear in a vertical row below the topic list instead of horizontally across the top?  I am generating into WebHelp and I need to change the location to be at the bottom of the left side window.

What do I have to do to get WebHelp browser styles to match RH's style sheet? In the PDF rendering, the styles conform to the .css styles, but the generated WebHelp in the browsers (Firefox and IE) does not. I've check all the generated project's topic folders for the correct .css, and they're there. I also put a copy of the .css in the project's root folder as someone suggested, but that doesn't work.I'm using RH 10, and I'm certainly no expert at it or HTML. Forgive me if I've done something stupid or not done something I should have.Thanks.B.

I have a style called Bullet in Robohelp, which is defined as a bulleted list style, and looks like thisin robohelp.I have a style called Bullet in the Word template I want to use to generate output, which is also defined as a bulleted list style.When I get to the Print Document Appearance screen adn select the Word template, I see 'Unassigned - use style in project' against the Robohelp Bullet style entry. When I open up the list of styles available in the Word template the Bullet style is not included in the list.This is costing me much time - every time I generate a document that uses the Bullet style I have to go into the Word document and apply the Bullet style to each relevant paragraph (and remove the spaces between the bullet and the text, but that's a problem for a different day).What do I need to do to get the mapping working properly?Thanks in advance!

I recently got a windows 7 machine and moved robohelp 8 to it. at first it didnt work but the a couple of patches were applied and now i can at least open my projects. problem is the TOC pod does not display at all. It does not show up in the pod list so I cant select it (obviously) any help greatly appreciated.my version is 8.0.2.208thanks

I am new to RoboHelp and I am trying to write some more text in an existing project in design view. I use Track Changes and have set the text to be Times New Roman 12pt. When I made a line italic it turned into Arial. I tried to change it to Times once again by selecting the text to format and then choose Format/ Font/ Times New Roman but it won´t change, it is still Arial. Earlier in the text I managed to make a line italic and Times New Roman. Anyone who knows what to do?(I use RoboHelp 10 with Windows 7 Professional.)

1st, as new here, hope this is posted in the right place.Starting a month or so ago, I noticed a new behavior with Flash.  Whenever I would switch to another window, the flash web application I was running (game, advertisement, whatever) would stop, leaving me with a grey window and an 'f' in the middle. Lol, so appropriate. What's the deal? What's the fix? I should be able to tab to another window, minimize, or bring some other window in front of that browser page and still let the thing run "off screen" or hidden.  Why does it stop? Typically I have to login again to the application or restart the demo or application that was running flash.  Very annoying.

I have admin privileges on the file. It's checked out of TFS. I am trying to add a conditional build expression and define it. I can add it but can't define it. The option to define any conditional build expression is grayed out.

I would like to have my Navigation pan to be 200 pixels and my content pane to be 800 pixels..I do not want the text to flow on either side of the panes.Is that possible?I might have use a table for the content in the past to limit the flow. But I am looking for a more elegant way to set a project's dimension.

My company uses RoboHelp HTML version 9. We are going through a rebranding effort and are now trying to change our Help system to match the company's new fonts and colors. I created a new CSS to match the company's style, but fonts that I selected when setting up the CSS do not appear in the font drop-down menu in the Design view. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this would occur and what I could do about it?Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Hello, I have RoboHelp 10 and  I'm running Windows 7. I have administrator priveleges on my machine. We use IE 9. I am publishing webhelp directly to our webserver (i have write access to our output folder on the webserver). We have a merged project environment. Once we re-view the site after i have made a change to the content, we are not seeing the change unless we reset IE's settings to factory default settings. I understand this more and likely is not a RoboHelp issue but any information regarding this fix would be much appreciated. I also want to mention some of the child projects have the thumbs.db file auto created in them; not sure it matters but want to mention. I read that the web server may be caching the content which means refreshing and hard-refreshing IE will not help show the updated, published content but i find it weird that if I reset IE's settings to factory, then everything displays as it should. Hello,Is there a reason that a popup that worked in RoboHelp HTML 9 would generate an ehlpdhtm.js error after the project was converted to version 10? Whether there's a reason or not, how can I get it working again? The only difference between this particular popup and other similar ones on the page is that it was added to the project later and resides in the project root folder, while the others are in subfolders. This is the same organization that existed when the project was in RH9, and no changes have been made to the topic or the popup itself. OS is Win 7, output is chm.Thanks!Beth

Hi, A UI designer at my company is using Bootstrap 3 to create the look and feel (CSS and skin) to be used by new SW products. Does RoboHelp 10 allow me to import or link to a CSS created with Bootstrap 3? Or can I copy and paste portions of the Bootstrap CSS into the RoboHelp project CSS?Thanks!Gabe

So just about 30 minutes ago, I downloaded the newest version of adobe flash player. I went to youtube and clicked a video. It said "blocked plug-in" so i clicked that and it said "The version of 'Adobe Flash Player' on your system does the include the latest security updates and has been blocked. To continue using  'Adobe Flash Player', download an updated version from adobe's website". I've downloaded the newest already. What is the problem? I have a macbook air btw. What should I do to be able to watch videos again?

I am using TCS4 (FM11, RH10).In FM, I add images (import by reference), set the anchored frame to "Run into paragraph" and have it right-justified.  Looks good, and publishes to PDF fine.RH imports it and ignores the anchored frame spacing.  If the text is not deep enough to span the depth of the image, RH overlaps the image, preferring to manage spacing through the text.  Pictures on top of pictures.How can I tell RH to honor the anchors put into FM? Hopefully its a setting in RH, since there are a lot of pics and it would be a pain to have to modify all of them individually.Help.      

I have a client experiencing 3 distinct problems with their Chinese-localized Fm files:The SimSun TTF font used in the source Fm files is "uninstalling" itself. This requires reinstallation of the font on a regular basis (every few days).The colons used in index markers in the Fm source files are not being parsed as Level1IX, Level2IX, etc. in the RoboHelp project. Instead, they are recognized as colons. In other words, the first level marker in Rh is XXXXXXXX:XXXXXXX:XXXXXXX. The same is true for the semicolons.The conversion settings for the Chinese project do not allow for mapping to individual CSS elements and classes. This means that all of the formatting is controlled via the supplemental CSS generated from the FrameMaker formatting. IOW, the formatting all uses the class="FM_ definitions.Has anyone had success working with Chinese characters in a FrameMaker to RoboHelp workflow (either linking or importing)?Anyone else seen any of these issues in Chinese or any other fonts?I'm t

Hi Everyone,Question: does anyone know if it is possible to have an image repository that sits outside of the help SSL such that multiple Webhelp systems can reference a common image repository?I'm using Rh10 to write help in English which then gets translated into many languages.The problem we face is that our installation DVD is now huge thanks to all these different help langauge resources.The images are repeated within each different language output. Thus I was asked recently if there are any efficiencies possible here - for example by sharing images (that are common to each language output) in one central folder.It makes a lot of sense, but as far as I can see it's not possible in Rh10.Can anyone confirm or deny?Many thanks in advance.Cheers,Andy
