I DO NOT want to convert handwriting to text, but whenever I try to OCR a document that has some handwriting on it, the OCR function ruins the handwriting by converting it into nonsense characters. Is there a way to prevent this and only convert the typewritten text?
Good morning, we are a public organization that offers its users dozens of editable PDF forms online to apply for grants. However, for some time now, these forms built from Acrobat Pro no longer work in the latest version of Acrobat Reader 2023.008.20470. For it to work, the user must deactivate the latest version. This toggle allows our forms to work. We are going to be flooded with calls fro
My Adobe updated early 2023. I preferred it so I did not select to "Disable New Acrobat". This past week, I traded my computer for a laptop and docking station. Among other updates/changes when I amde the switch, my adobe reverted back to the old version. There is no more updates availiable and I have restarted my computer multiple times. Is there a way to have it return to the new, updated version I had months prior.
I have been having problems recently (Since 01 JAN 2025) with Adobe Acrobat DC on Windows 11. Everytime I would try to open up Acrobat, it would freeze up and give me an error message. I combed the support and community forums for answers... none of the solutions propsed by Adobe, or others, worked. But something else did: 1. Uninstall all Adobe software. ALL of it. Especially Creative Cloud. Use the Windows 11 Settings UI for Installed Apps.2. Download the Acrobat DC installer from here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html3. Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT install Adobe Creative Cloud from the web.4. Launch Acrobat and Sign In.5. All should work well. It looks like Creative Crowd is the (dead) elephant in the room and no one is calling Adobe out on it.

I have looked through all the settings and searched here and on Google – maybe I missed it, but I don't see the option ANYWHERE.Acrobat DC refuses to persist my decision to open the thumbnails pane after I have closed the program and opened another file.This is HORRIBLY annoying because I have to delete pages from almost every document I open in Acrobat DC (nature of my job and use case), and since.... "upgrading....." *cough* .... from Acrobat XI, I now have to "unhide" the left sidebar (I didn't ever have to do this in Acrobat XI), AND THEN tell it to show the thumbnails. This is a HUGE waste of time working with multiple files that have to be edited thus.I have the latest version: 2015.010.20056 on Windows 7.
Whilst converting from Excel to PDF, I lose all the decimal points. So, for example, 2.50 looks like 250. It is frustrating as I cannot get any help with Adobe
Hello All,I'm currently running into an issue with Acrobat DC's Fill and Sign feature for signing a document where any time I use fill and sign and type in ACC it crashes the entire program. I've tried running repairs on the program and uninstalling and reinstalling and it continues to do this. I'm trying to type in ACC because it is part of my job title but can't because it crashes after the second c is typed. It does not do this with any other AC combination, only ACC. It also doesn't matter if the letters are uppercase or lower case. It seems the letter combination itself is causing the crash. Has anyone come across an issue like this or know of a solution?
I have a pdf form with many check boxes and I am trying to find a way to auto check a box based on the selection of other boxes. For example, I have a question below and if 2 or more of the red text check boxes are marked (I used bullet points to act as a check box) I want it to check the box stating "Positive for 2 or more". I have tired to find codes that would fill a text box with a color since the text box has the calculation options and I have tried to find a code for the run a javascript when Mouse Up, but I am struggling. I am also a beginner with the javascript/calculation stuff in PDF so please dumb it down. ANY help would be appreciated! I'm building a custom pdf for my organization to use on its documents. I was able to give it fields for things like name, title and date. But they would like me to field to enter a short description or sentence. The issue I'm running into is while users can input long strings it becomes cut off once they reach the end of the text box. I know I need to give it a wrapping function to drop the text down to show the full user input but I have a very rudimentary understanding of JavaScript as I'm learning as I go and could use some help.I applied my current code to show what I'm working with. var cAsk = "Enter Narrative" ;var cTitle = "Narrative";if(stampState == 'applying'){var cMsg = app.response(cAsk, cTitle);event.value = cMsg;}
the fill color box for my text box properties is cut off so i cannot choose all of the colors or custom colors. how do i solve this issue?
Hello, I'm experiencing an issue with Adobe Acrobat to where when I go to rotate pages that aren't oriented correctly I would scroll down to find more of those affected pages and as I continue to scroll down, it would jump back up a few pages and would need to scroll down to find the pages again. The already corrected pages would stay corrected but it is rather inconvenient having to scroll again to look for more pages. The PDF is pretty large as it holds about 1000 + pages. Im currently using a desktop with a Intel Core i7, Intel integrated graphics, 16 GB of RAM, and am currently using Adobe Acrob ver. 24.
Hi everyone-I work within healthcare and have a co-worker who struggles with dyslexia. To help with this, printing documents in purple helps significantly in her ability to read healthcare clinic schedules. However, when saving the schedules, Adobe Acrobat recognizes the text blocks as individual image elements rather than text, making it nearly impossible to change the font to purple. I was wondering if there were any others out there with dyslexia or are color blind who benefit from altering the color of elements on Acrobat and have found an efficient way to do this. I have tried converting the PDF to a Word document and can manage to get some of it to change to purple text, but since it is not being recognized as a font, I essentially have to put a "filter" on all the image elements. Additionally, the image elements are not combined as one single page but are segmented into small sections that make it very difficult to change the color or add a filter to m
I'm about to pull my hair out over this. I'm no script write, but I can usually fumble my way around and up until this point I've had zero issues. I have cells adding, multiplying, and dividing and they all work perfectly on (lets say) Row A .. until you move to the row below, Row B, (which does not pertain to and should not interact with Row A at all) and then instead of calculating like Row A did, it is adding the calculation from Row B to Row A. But then sometimes it autopopulates a cell on Row C but nothing on Row B even though everything should be on Row A. Then after I preview several times, it gets to where some of the fields won't calculate at all. If I delete the cells and readd and set them up it will again work on Row A, but RowB/C are calucalting into Row A until I preview several times then half the fields stop working.It's so crazy.These are not copyed cells, I manually inserted & entered info into each Te
Hello, I have set up the forms to tally correctly, but there seems to be an issue with the first number in particular totaling correctly. As far as I can tell, in the end everything calculates correctly, but while going through the process, it shows inaccurate information; especially if the user makes changes.
I buy digital PDF sewing patterns and they have multiple sizes. The pattern company gives instructions for layers. for example, size 10 is listed when you select layer function. I have Adobe Pro. I select size 10, but when the pattern prints on my printer, I still shows all pattern sizes. There are a lot of complaints lately on various sewing web sites. Originally, the pattern company instructs to use the free Adobe reader only. However, I cannot download this app, as it recognizes that I have Adobe Pro. I am thinking about cancelling adobe pro and then only using adobe reader. Any other who are sewing and having same problem? Other writers think it is recent Adobe app changes that have changed.
I use the javascript below to calculate the differance between 2 values. It works fine unless the value is 0, then it displays nothing. Is it posible to make it display 0 if the 2 values are the same?// Get the values from the textboxes var value1 = parseFloat(this.getField("RealEstate_Loan_1").value) || 0; var value2 = parseFloat(this.getField("RealEstate_MarketValue_1").value) || 0; // Perform the subtraction var result = value2 - value1; // Set the result in another field (e.g., ResultBox) this.getField("RealEstate_NetValue_1").value = result.toFixed(2);
Good Morning,In my office, most of the users are using Reader DC. with the exception of 1 user (so far) when we open a PDF we can resize the text boxes.One user is unable to do this. even with new or existing text boxes they cannot be resized. I can save the document and open it on another PC and can resize the text boxes, but then save it and send it back it still will not resize. I am sure this is as setting issue or possibly registry.I have uninstalled and re-installed it - didn't workI uninstalled, deleted all the associated files and re-installed it - didn't workI uninstalled, deleted the files, deleted everything in the registry related to acrobat reader (thinking that it might be a setting from another previous version of reader) re-started the PC and re-installed - didn't work.Any advice?OH Yeah Win 7 Pro PCThanks in advance
Hi, the other day I discovered that I can no longer open PDF files with Adobe Acrobat (free version) I constantly get this errormessage: "This Adobe-side does not match you geographical location. Based on you geographical location, we believe that you would prefer the homepage Denmark, where you wil find regional content, offers and prices" To solve this, I follow the instructions (ctrl+alt+del) etc. with no succes. I have deleted the app and reinstalled it - no succes. Does anyone out there know about this problem ? best regards Michael
Hi all.For some unknown reason, i've noticed lately that when trying to print a PDF, it prints a 2 page doc on 1 sheet.Via a few headaches of trying to work it out, i discovered that i need to, under "page sizing and handling", change the default from "multiple" to "size".Now the question is, how do i set that "size" option as a default, rather than having to remember to do it for each PDF i want to print ?Any help would be hugeley welcomed.Thank you
I have a paid annual subscription for Adobe and trying to convert/export a PDF to an Excel file. Can figure it out intuitively within Adobe so I seek help externally via ai, youtube, etc. Still, no luck. Working within Microsoft Excel, they have the ability to import a PDF and convert to Excel. It worked! Adobe - terribly challenging while Microsoft is quite easy and intuitive. Why Adobe? Don't you want to keep your base of annual subscribers? I reach out to the 'Contact Us' link and they redirect me to my company administrators (lol). Adobe doesn't want to connect with its customers, and my admin don't know how to use adobe. Thanks for ping ponging me Adobe. Even though my company pays the annual subscription, it is I that authorizes them to do so. Do you think I will be authorizing this in the future given how challenging Adobe is?
Hi guys, We have a small office where one computer has a shared folder and a few other computers access that shared folder. If a pdf file is modified, say a page is removed, from the main user's computer, it will modify the permissions of the file to no longer allow the username we use for sharing to access it unless: - It's manually added back in security tab - Or the file is copied to the desktop and copied back in (it'll fill in the security rights automatically) How can we avoid having to do this? Thanks!
I've use this code bellow: // Initialize attachment number attachment_num = 1; // Initial location of file attachment icon // The x value is incremented below var oFAP = {x_init: -72, x: -72, y: -72}; // Below lower-left corner of the page function import_pre_11() { if (app.viewerType === "Reader") { app.alert({ cMsg: "You must user Reader version 11 or later to attach files to this form.", cTitle: "Attach File Error", nIcon: 3, nType: 0 }); return; } // Prompt user to import a file app.alert({ cMsg: "Click the OK/Open button after selecting the file from your system that you want to attach.", cTitle: "Attach File", nIcon: 3, nType: 0 }); try { var rc = this.importDataObject("Attachment" + attachment_num); if (rc) { attachment_num += 1; app.alert({
Created an Action Wizard macro to convert a folder full of PDFs to TXT so I can run some analysis on them. Simple macro - open folder, delete the cover page, recognize the rest as text, save as TXT. But when I run it, it stops after one file (which it processes fine) every time - ending on a blank page entitled "Untitled 1."Ideas? Is there a log I can review somewhere?
