I bought some DeWalt 18v tools about a dozen years ago... I'm not a pro carpenter, so for my lite duty house projects the tools have lasted and still work well.Not so the batteries... they won't hold a charge for very long so I've been looking at replacements.I also have some newer DeWalt 20v tools (different tools).While looking on Amazon (hardware store I go to doesn't stock the 18v batteries since the tools are old) I discovered an adapter that plugs into the old style tool and accepts a new style battery.So now I only have to keep up with charging one style of battery for old and new tools.https://www.amazon.com/Biswaye-Battery-Adapter-DCA1820-Convert/dp/B074V7QPTJ

Apparently for the first time, Adobe will host its Max conference outside California this year. In Florida. (This according to Business Insider.) Some 500 Adobe employees signed a petition pleading with the company not to gift such a financially significant piece of business to a state where the government is running roughshod over the values Adobe claims to uphold. An Adobe exec named Amy White is quoted as acknowledging that Florida is "complicated".  No. It's not "complicated". You either stand with bigotry or you stand with your stated values. I used to admire Adobe and its products. Over the last few years, Adobe has disappointed me with sloppy product development, disappointing customer service, and a - disappointing - slide into the amoral behavior we all associate with big corporations with effective monopolies. Yes, Adobe does some good things. But the disappointments add up. Why am I posting this here? I invested over an hour without success

Suddenly...my Default PDF Viewer is Adobe....I did not select that.  I wish to delete this and return to Chrome or Word.  I can choose to use a different place to open, of course, but I see no options to make that choice Default.  Thanks.  Mini Mac.   Windows for Mac

There were some complex legal arguments brought before the Supreme Court today that could have lasting impact on our use of social media.    

I never used an actual timer but 'about' every 3-4 hours the water would run to refill the toilet tank... I took the top off the tank and the water was going down about an inch and the automatic valve would then let water in to refill the tank.I did the first, obvious thing and bought a new flapper valve... did not fix the problem.So I did the next thing and removed the flapper valve assembly (see picture 1).The outside of a toilet tank is shiny/smooth due to being dipped in a 'slurry' before going into a kiln, but the inside of the tank is NOT smooth, so the rubber gasket at the base of the assembly was clearly not making a good seal (note ridges in the rubber gasket).My solution (see picture 2) was to use shop towels to get everything completely dry and put a thick bead of silicone caulk on the rubber gasket... reinstall and let 'cure' for 24 hours before opening the water valve to let the tank fill.So far (2 days) the tank is staying full... leak is fixed !!!

I bought an Apple DVD drive in 2012 to play movies on my 2012 iMac which had no internal drive. I used it a lot until I bought a new iMac in 2021, then not at all until today. The old DVD app didn't work on Sonoma, and the iDVD app doesn't seem to work with the old drive. The drive gets power from the USB cable but will not accept a disc. Is that a hardware problem or a software problem? If software, is there a way to get the new DVD app to work with the old drive?Thanks

So is anyone here into 3D printing?  If so, what software do you use to make the models?  Which printer is the one to go with?  Any other pointers?   I'm looking at the Original Prusa i3 MK3 which several sites seem to be raving over, and I use SketchUp, which I believe can drive 3D printers. Can any Adobe apps drive a 3D printer?  What sort of things do you make with your printer?

MY QUESTION:   How would you feel  if I just took images from a facebook group page, images that you posted, and used them to make content for my own youtube channel?Recently in a facebook group which is about photoshop elements I noticed some activity from one user I found a bit odd.Typically, within 4 days of a user posting an image and asking "I need help with this shadow" or "How do I match the colors in these photos?"  The same exact image appears as a "tutorial" on his Youtube channel.Many of the images used are of children:  football team picture, cheerleader picture, kid in a family picture type stuff.I checked with 5 users: Only one had given permission.   One user contacted him and had the video removed.All the videos on his youtube channel have commenting disabled, which leaves a sour taste in my mouth.It all seems to be just a bad way of doing business to me.
