Hi Everyone:If I am on the 'discussions page' but I have not chosen a specific discussion and I click 'Receive email notifications,' will I receive emails for 'all' of the topics under that discussion group? If I only want emails from a specific topic, should I click on the dicussion topic and then click 'Receive email notificatins?'Secomd, under 'Your stuff, Preferences, Email notification preferences,' it gives an option to 'always subscribe via email to threads I create' and always subscribe to threads that I reply to.' If both options are checked 'Yes' then why do I still have to check 'Start email notifications' under each topic? What is the difference between 'always subscribe to emails I create' and 'start email notifications?'I appreciate the assistance.
Try sending a PM to this guy and see what you get in the "To:" field...http://forums.adobe.com/people/-%3DStefan%3D-The reason is that the "=" character is not properly escaped in the link.
OK, here goes. For a long time there has been little or no evidence of any hosts, moderators or Adobe employees in here. John C and kanguyen make very welcome appearances from time to time, and both show an immaculate attitude, but little happens to improve things - although thanks to those who made a proper sticky about the use of this forum. We have been relieved of a host who was allegedly a Community Expert in 'Creative Suite', but had apparently fulfilled none of the criteria for a Community Expert - such as being an expert in something. Nor did this person have more than a very wobbly grasp of how the forums actually work. With zero credibility, said person annoyed people by moralising and lecturing at them.So now we have a pretty bolshy group of people who are sitting about, kicking their heels, hoping against hope that someone will sort out this buggy, defective software. Many have made very detailed, constructive suggestions and requests, others have gone to the trouble of makin
Why do I receive posts for the discussion topic ’Shockwave for Windows 7’ to my email address when I did not even create it or reply to it?I went into the discussion and clicked 'Stop email notifications to my email' but why did I receive messages about this discussion in the first place?Shouldn't all 'discussion groups' have the default 'Start email notifications' as the link? I created a 'related 'Shockwave' discussion group but I solved my inquiry and clicked 'Stop email notifications' and I stopped receiving emails about it.
I am new to making video projects using Final Cut Pro. I was unable to import my project (which is HD1080i format) to Final Cut so Iimported it to iMovie but now I need to move it into FCP. When I go to export the file (as a .mov), I have the option to deinterlace the original file.I am not sure if I should do this or if it is something I should only do in FCP. Also, I am wondering how long it should take to export from iMovie to FCP.
Okay this notification at this particular point is a duplicate to the one I read last evening.http://forums.adobe.com/message/2164560#2164560I will edit and add other duplicates as I run across them.what seems to be happening is the last post read in a thread from a previous day is used as first post in a new batch of notifications the next day sometimes it further up and maybe the last to or three threads are actually new.
Occasionally a thread from some time ago jumps up the chronological list. I think I know why. It's just happened to a post I had not started, but had contributed to. Although the last reply was a few days ago and not by me, the thread was shown ahead of many more recent posts, and I was allegedly the most recent contributor - not so.I had just received an email about a rejected claim of abuse against me in that thread. So, some action by a moderator pushed it out of position and messed up the 'last contributor' indication.Probably something similar explains why a 3-month-old post is currently showing at the top of the Testing sub-forum. Another jolly little quirk
The Forum etiquette and best practices page contains something I had not noticed before. It may have been added recently.Don't:……Personally attack people, their edits (including spelling or grammar)…Their "spelling"?How are you going to be helpful to people by neglecting to point out to posters that there are no are such words in the English language as "convertor", "seperate" or "seperations" and that's why they don't find the information they need on the Adobe DNG Converter or separations in the Help files or Google?
John,This is a personal private message, everyone else please ignore.Dave Milbut has worked tirelessly trying to see if he could help me restore my user name as Ken Nielsen along with my little 5-letter password. I've only been able to log on here by making up a new moniker and password which was fortunate as most forums will not allow you to enter as a new user when you still have your old standard e-mail address. The process has been like swiss cheese: some things work, some have holes in them and are not really there (no cheese.)Whatever you can do, even to the point of advising me to leave everything as it is, would be appreciated. It would be nice to have my old name back. I think others here have had to change their names also but one thing at a time. You can contact Dave if you need the background history of his work on this over the past few weeks. Other than that, I'm out of ideas and need help. Thanks,Ken
Hi...I could have sworn that there was a post from Kath in Moderation in this forum aimed at me (replying to me). In this she said something to the tune of me owing Dave an apology for something or the other...To which i clearly remember replying with a:What??? When??? Where??? (can't remember the exact sequence ). I could have sworn it was in the forum above... can't find the posts now... Anyone remember seeing them or which forum they're in?BTW... tried a search... in the forum drop down box, this forum doesn't seem to be there. I'm probably missing something... can anyone illuminate?Thanks...Cheers!
Hi,I am still recieving email notifications from Adobe Forums (Premiere Elements and others) I never asked to be threaded from these forums and when I open them it shows that to get action I need to active by "click to recieve". I also have turned this off in my profile and I am still get them. Why?
Some posts on the forum have text or code included in small windows with sliders at the side and bottom. See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/471158?tstart=0 for instance. On my screen the window is not large enough to view the code, and there seems to be no method of expanding it. Is this a bug or a problem that only I have?I'm using IE8 on a very large monitor in full screen mode at around 1600 x 1024 pixels.
n older versions of CS, I've installed it on a desktop and a notebook so that I can use it when and where i need to. Is that possible with this version. Taking a computer class that allows me to get the discounted version. Exactly what is the difference? Thanks in advance, Mr BK
There's a new kid on the block... quick on the draw... quicker still to shoot...Apart from arbitrarily locking threads, s/he's now taken to deleting them.Beware folks! The thought police are here!! (Or should it be speech police?)
If I already have a website can I just change the layout ?
...but the store pages are really really really slow.
Little help keeping this up since there are no stickies in these lovely new forums?
... whoever it was
Hi gangI see that I may have stirred the pot a bit by temporarily parking a post in this forum until I heard back from the OP which product was being used.I would like to extend my sincere apologies to anyone that may have affected. It seemed to be the "most intelligent" choice I could make at the time and I suppose it wasn't received very well. This does beg a question, however. If we do see a post that absolutely doesn't fit in the forums we monitor, is there a suggested "parking spot" to move it to as a temporary measure? My intent was only to remove it from view of the forum I knew it did not belong in. Had I been given any form of a remote clue as to what forum it *DID* belong in, I'd have moved it there and been done with it.advTHANKSance... Rick
I would like to get Adobe ACE certified and am doing some trial classes on Lynda.com which I think are very good. However,do they go far enough and cover enough for someone to then get ACE certification? Any comments or suggestions are muchappreciated!
i'm no longer me. can anyone help?
Who says Adobe customer support is all bad? Here's a happy camper:http://forums.adobe.com/message/2152196#2152196
This thread is duplicating here from the DW forum. Can we have it removed now? Thanks.Oops! Here's the link: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/471891?tstart=0
Forums Discussion is exclusively for the discussion of Forums operation. Items such as Forum Bugs, Speed Problems and other topics about appearance and performance of the Forums. It's not meant as a Discussion area for product sales, support or Operation. If you got here by accident we may suggest the area to go to. And we may ask how you got here by accident so we can suggest fixes for the problem to appropriate parties.
Hi again folks.I can't help but to notice that when someone mistakenly posts in this forum, the post isn't simply moved to the proper venue. Instead, there seems to be a general reply that this isn't the place and sometimes a link to the correct venue is offered. I'm curious to know why you don't simply move the post to the correct venue and be done with it?Cheers... Rick
