Hi, in reference to Security update available for RoboHelp | APSB21-20. I usually use RoboHelp Classic 2019. I installed update RH2020.0.4. Now I have a new Adobe RoboHelp 2020 option on my PC's Start menu. Can I safely still use RoboHelp Classic 2019, or do I have to use the new 2020? Thanks.

I added  Glossary to an existing project.  I changed the glossary option in the screen layout (Azure Blue) to "true" to display the glossary.   In the output/published files the glossary behaves correctly, except the alphabet does not display.   I have a list of words (alphabetized) but no letter separators.    I have customized the colors of the screen layout (backgrounds, link colors, font), but have not changed anything else.  I'm using the default icons and layout.  And, turning "on" the glossary works...it just doesn't display the alphabet separators.  I thought maybe they were "white" but there's not even an empty space 🙂 (yes, I have more than one "letter" of the alphabet used in the glossary...) Any other files I should be looking at to see why they aren't displaying? RH 2017.13.0.0.257Responsive HTMLAzure Layout  

I go to the review tab, create a new review, and pick my topics. When I press the blue "Share" at the top right, I can see the title of my review and a blue button saying "Create link." When I press this button, I get the blue spinning circle that shows the review is loading, but it remains that way for hours and never finishes loading? Has anyone had a similar issue, and how did you resolve it?

Hello,We are currently using RH 11. I am not sure which Robo Srver we are using.I have a silly question. Is it possible to use an alternative server for RH 11? The reason I am asking is because we have upgrade our servers and our current Robo Server is not compatible. So we have been using an old one. IT does not like that and asked us if we can upgade or purchase a different authoring tool. We are on a budget crunch and it looks like we won't be able to upgrade to RH 2019 and RoboServer 10 or 11. That is why i was wondering if there is an alternative server that can work with RH 11. Thaanks,Andre

I am having trouble applying a Div style that I created. I can use the style successfully if I manually enter it in the topic HTML code, but can't figure out how to do the same thing in the UI.Here's what I did when I tried to use the UI: I selected a paragraph in my topic, went to the Styles pod/Div styles, and double-clicked on the new style.Result: nothing changed--no style added, no change to underlying HTML. There must be an easier way than manual entry in the HTML code...could someone shine a light, please?Thanks,G

Hi all,I am currently evaluating help generation products. Overall I like what I see with RoboHelp. However, I find the lack of table options and styles. Table support is very robust in a competing product. Are there any recommendations on how to work around this limitation based on the limited table support in RoboHelp 2020? I have created some table styles (thead, tbody, etc). However, I have to manually edit the HTML to get the table configured correctly to use the styles. For example I have to move the tbody tag down a row and add the thead tags for the first row to get that tag/style to apply properly.  Thanks, 

I have looked online and at the help within RoboHelp. I need specific instructions on how to create an index. I know you can do it manually and use the wizard but neither meet my needs. The wizard puts items in the index that simply make no sense, but doing it manually, I am unable to link to bookmarks, only topics.  I have an empty index and there are a couple words displaying in the online output. Why are they displaying if I have nothing in the index? Thank so much.Michele

Hello there, My Robohelp is now updated with the Update 4.  Great. I'm pursuing my testing with the translation agency to make sure the process will run smoothly when the moment has come.   In my previous post, I realized I missed to export the .glo and .toc files to xliff as well.So I did it now (with Update 4 installed), but Studio Trados gives an error while trying to import those files.... cf. screenshot. Moreover, when I look inside those files, I notice the glossary is missing the terms (it does include only the definitions), and the BookToc is missing some chapters too.... Any known issue about that? or have you received any other similar feedback?Thank you. Attached: screenshot of error.  I want to attach an example of xliff export of the .glo file, but the .xlf format is not supported here (I changed the extension into .txt or .xml, but I still get an error because content type does not match the file extension).  

Hi,   We are moving towards single sourcing through Robohelp to generate online help and PDFs and are trying to find the best way to set the PDF to show as it is generated from FrameMaker. Robohelp does not seem to give any control over how the bookmarks are generated from Robohelp. Also, can't find an easy way to create chapter title pages with topic links and style the TOC to look good. Basically the PDF from robohelp no where close to looking like what it does from framemaker. We have spent hours playing with options in the tools and have searched for content online, videos etc. but can't find a good resource we can use to get started. I am using the latest version of RoboHelp in the new UI and I am working with a new help project. I have a number of topics that appear in my table of contents more than once (e.g. one topic appears in the onboarding sequence of topics for two different procucts. I have created onboarding "landing pages" with links to the topics. When the user clicks a link to a topic that appears in the toc more than once, the toc opens to the first instance of the topic in the toc. Is there any way around this? Sometimes I want it to open the toc to the 2nd or 3rd instance of the topic in the toc. This is a significant issue for my beta release today...it is new software and help designed to resolve usability issues with our old software. My onboarding landing pages need to be solid and behave like my toc!!

I am using Rh2020.4.173 version.   I am using Responsive HTML5 output and wanted to create a new publish ProfileName.  The cogwheel settings icon is missing (see image).Anyone else seeing this??I went to Edit > Publish Profiles to create a new ProfileName.  Anyone know why they removed the cogwheel settings icon from Publish?

I am currently trying to digitize operating manuals for some equipment that our company provides. I want a way for clients viewing the operating manuals to be able to leave comments on sections they want revised, so we can see those comments and make changes to the documents. Also, I want to set up a notification that alerts us to when a comment is posted, so we can make the change. I'm quite new to RoboHelp, is this feature supported and if so what would be the best way to go about it?

Hi y'all,I have a master project with one topic (intro) and some child projects. Each child project shares  terminology with its siblings.If I build a glossary for each child project (such that I can link the terms to text in the topics), then the master project (which has no glossary of its own) when published has a combined glossary with terms duplicated. For example, the word "Widget" has two entries in the glossary in which the definitions are identical.If I build a single glossary for the main project and remove the individual glossaries from the child projects, no glossary is generated, and none of the text in the topics have links to the glossary terms.Is it possible to create a single glossary in the master project and link the terms to text in the child projects? If I could get the glossary to ignore duplicate terms, that would be OK too.Thanks!

HiI have been using Robohelp X5 in my desktop for last 10 years. Recently, I got a new laptop. I uninstalled it from my desktop and installed in the laptop.On opening, system prompts to Activate the robohelp x5. I could not activate it by online/email/phone or any means.I searched in google, all website links related to activating robohelp x5  are old and not working.Please suggest how to activate it or bypass the Activation window to use robohelp X5.I need to use Robohelp x5 to update my Help files.Kindly do the needful.Regards,Selvakala Bharathi  

I have a very large project in Robohelp 2019. Each month I generate a word document using Printed Documentation output. The generated word document is about 3000 pages. It normally takes about 6 hours to complete, but this month it started taking about 21 hours to complete. We have all of the patches applied for Robohelp 2019 and we doubled the memory, but that did not help. Any ideas on why it is suddenly taking so long to finish? Thanks in advance.

Hi All,I am having an issue with PDF-output using RH new UI 2020.4.173 with master page and tables.For a test, I created a file containing a table. The table width is defined to be 100%. I also created a new css-file containing a style for this table (here, no width is defined, just colors etc.). Then I created a new master page and assigned my new css to it additionally to the other css "book" and "default". When I run the PDF output, I use the layout setting "Page Margin = 15mm". However, the width of my table does not consider this margin but runs farther to the side. It only works, if my own css is not added to the master page. However, then of course my styles are missing. As soon as I add my css to the master page, the table grows too big. I even tried to define a margin for the body-part of the master page. This leads to the normal text having a too large margin, but the table is still too big. This has been working in version 2020.2.29. Can anyone point me t

I'm using RH2020.0.156 Well, this is an odd one. I have a topic that is shared between three applications (and we have four total): IC, Mobile, and Fusion (but not PG). The topic is tagged as Not_PG (meaning it will show up for IC, Mobile, and Fusion). Within the content, there are three tags: IC (only shows for IC output), Mobile_Fusion (shows for both Mobile and Fusion outputs), and Fusion (only shows for Fusion output). In all outputs, if the condition tag is included at the paragraph level instead of the character level, it's being ignored and showing up for all outputs. For example, this doesn't work, i.e. it's showing up for all outputs even though it's tagged for IC only: <p class="Note" data-condition="Others:InformaCast">Note: If you disabled the automatic import of certificates...</p> And this does work, i.e. it only shows up in the IC output: <p class="Note"><span data-condition="Others:InformaCast">Note:If

When I convert my existing Classic 2019 to the New UI RoboHelp 2019, the multi level list style does not apply to the converted project. My stylesheet converts with all of the styles defined in classic but the multilevel list style does not appear to be applied during conversion. Has anyone else encountered this? Does anyone have any idea how to fix it automatically? I have several projects to convert with many instances of multilevel lists. See one example below. I upgraded an older project to robohelp 2020. When I put my cursor in my already numbered text, the alignment option does not show up in the properties window. Only if I type in new text. Any suggestions?

I have read as many topics on this forum about it, even read Adobe's help. I am still confused how to implement context senstive help using Map IDs. I have generated them in my .h file. I have also exported my help IDs in .inc (Delphi Pascal) I am not programmer but some of my colleagues are and that's the programming language they use.  Well, we use to export help to Responsive HTML5 format, as well as its map of IDs. However, when the user clicks F1 in the software it always opens the main page (welcome page), we would like it to open in the page about each subject (when clicks F1 in "stakeholders" it will open the topic about it and so on). But from Robohelp I don't know if there is anything else we could do, or only in programmers side.  I believe there might be a way to link each topic ID to tables in Delphi. I just don't know how to solve it, because I am not programmer only technical writer. But I would like to help my workmates to make it work properly.&nbsp

Hi All, I am working on robohelp 2019 classic version. I have created several styles in my project and its a huge project with several styles such as:1. paragraph and character styles2. image styles and so on.While I was working yesterday, suddenly the newly created (2 weeks back) image styles and paragraph styles disappeared. However, I can see styles which were created 3 or 4 weeks back. I didn't recieve any error message on the screen when the styles got disappeared. Additionally, this same scenario occured with my project 3 or 4 weeks back and being unknown i did create the styles again. This scenario has occured for second time and it is too frustrating, incase I have to create styles and format whole project again! Can anyone please help me to retrive the disappeared styles. Any solution or hint would be of great help! Thanks,Nutan 

We have a specific look and feel that we have configured on a PoC project created by using RH 2020 - Frameless format. We cant other products to follow the same format. Is there a way to save a RH 2020 project as a template that others can pick up and continue?

Hi, Everyone. I'm using the RH 2020 online review feature for the first time. My reviewers have received the invitation link and have registered themselves for Adobe IDs.  But they get an error message when clicking the link:  “You can’t access this link”  I've tried both types of invitation:  Public and Invite-only. My reviewers get the same error with each type. Any advice for me? Thank you!

I upgraded a project from RH2017 to RH 2020.3.32. Now, in my word output, some of the images extend off the page. Before, in 2017, all images stayed in the margins.  Is there a default setting to make sure the images stay on the page? Is there a Max Image dimension setting? Thank you
