Hello, I am using full RH2020 (v2020.0.156) and publishing Indigo Responsive HTML5 Layout to RoboHelp Server 10.My question has to do with the Table of Contents. I tried manually creating TOC and auto generating TOC. Same problem occurs. I have Sections for example Administration and it is sourced to Administration Intro & Overview. I would expect that if a user selects the Adminisration section, then the sourced topic would display in left pane.  However, the links in the TOC only work if they are individual Topics and not Sections. See attached image.

Hello helpful community,I am using Robohelp 2020.0.156. Can anyone tell my why the h3 is formatting correctly (ie 14 pt) in the first image, but not in the second? I have the same issue before it is output (ie in the authoring panel.)Thanks kindly for any input, Dorothy 

It appears that topics have memory, are stubborn, and don't want to change.I create a new book in a project's TOC and linked the book to a topic so that clicking the book displayed the linked page as well as expanding to show the topics in the book. Then I decided to move some topics not originally included in the book into the book by clicking the right arrow on the TOC to have those topics become part of the book. The PROBLEM:  The topics that were originally in the book show the correct breadcrumbs. Those that were not, show breadcrumbs but skip the book name in their breadcrumbs, meaning they show the breadcrumbs as they originally were when not moved into the book. WHY, WHY, WHY????I believe this project that I inherited has had several tech writers working in it since it was first created. It also is the merged product of 2 previously independent projects, I'm told. I think these two projecters were simply compbined vs. merged. But the who thing is driving me nuts.

Using Mac version.Followed all of the instructions here:https://helpx.adobe.com/in/robohelp/user-guide.html/in/robohelp/using/git.ug.html When adding the project get the error below.  RoboHelp does add a .git and .gitignore file.  But cannot figure out why it fails to upload to repository.I am able to connect to Git from the command line successfully.  

RH2020 Update 2 - MAC Has anyone encountered an error setting up a GIT collaboration profile with bitbucket?  I am having an issue where i was able to set mine but but my co-workers, following the same steps, have not been.  My co-workers are hitting the following error as soon as they select their key in the collaboration profile:"SSH could not verify remote host.  External verfication may be required for successful SSH conntection."I should note RH briefly shows "fingerprint successfully added" before that error appears.  They are not clicking on save, it is as soon as they select their keys in the connection profile.  I have verified that they have the proper keys and those keys are in our repo in bitbucket.  In fact, we can push, pull, and clone from their machines using the CLI.All of the troubleshooting steps online are for windows.  We are waiting for adobe to get back to us but I thought i would check here to see if anyone can r

Using RoboHelp 2019 Release Version 14.0.14 (up to date). We have discovered that the frameless output for our two translated projects (Japanese and Spanish) are displaying garbled charactes when viewed in Internet Explorer and Firefox (no issues in Chrome or Edge). Looking back at local archived builds, this issue began towards the end of June 2020. Local archived builds prior to that display fine in all browsers. Builds produced after that display garbled characters in IE and Firefox (as attached). Language settings in frameless output are set correctly; encoding settings set to default, and neither of these settings changed prior to or after June. Changing them yields no effect. This does not affect our English project, only our Japanese and Spanish projects. Manually changing the browser Encoding setting to Unicode resolves this in IE, but does not resolve in Firefox. Has anyone dealt with this issue before? Anything come to mind that might help? I have published my RH project to HTML 5 and when attempting to access it via IE I get an error stating, "a problem with this webpage has caused IE to close and reopen the tab." The page goes blank and this error occurs "We were unable to return you to the page you were viewing." This does not happen in Chrome or Edge.

When (in a RH2019 project) I edit a LINKED Word file in the source and then go back to RoboHelp 2019 and try to "update" the file by synching from Source to Project, it does not update. It updates neither the TITLE nor the CONTENT of the Word file. Is this a reported bug? What should I do for proper synching ? Thanks, Ugur

Hi, dear RoboHelp community,we've run into a rather unusual issue that we can't get to the bottom of.First off: My colleague and I collaboratively work on a number of RoboHelp projects that we are checking into source control in SVN and each of us updates and commits changes to the projects regularly. We work in Robohelp 2019 Classic. Now to the issue:We use a merged project that combines 3 child projects into one merged parent projects. Inside child-project 3 ("work"), we are using a snippet (the snippet is used in 2 topics). Inside the snippet, we added a relative link to a topic in child-project 1 ("cloudAccount").When generating project 3 on my machine, the link works perfectly fine in all topics of the output where the snippet is embedded. However, when my colleague generates the same project on her machine, the link only works in one of the topics where the snippet is embedded, and fails in the other one. Here is the relative link inside project 3’s snippet – pointing t

When I drag a file to a folder the process seems to never stop. RoboHelp opens a dialogue telling that the file is being moved, but the dialogue never closes and I am not able to drag another file. The file IS actually moved, and links to pictures are corrected accordingly.  If I try to move more than one file at a time, only the first file is moved, and the dialogue keeps showing this first file. Is there a cure?   

Hi there -- Robohelp formatting seems quite buggy! I've been able to fix most of the errors in the HTML. Then I save. But the errors return when I go back into the editing screen.  Examples: incorrect numbering removed in the 1st example, incorrect numbering back in 2nd example. In the 3rd example, extra spacing has been removed, in the 4th example the extra spaces are back. Does anyone know how I make these fixes permanent? The 1st one I fixed by deleting <li> before and </li> after the paragraph. The spacing I fixed by removing space between </em> and </span> and </li>.Finally, I have no idea how to remove this numbering from in front of the word contents in the mini-TOC. Can you turn off HTML autocomplete in the HTML editor in RoboHelp 2020?

Hi All,I'd like to import my customized skin file to all my projects. There is an option in RH2019 in the Skins folder for import, but this is scanning for *.skz or *.slz file endings only. However, the ending of my skin file seems to be *.sknWill it be possible to simply copy all files from the skin-folder of one project to another?Best regardsKarin

I upgraded to RH 2020.3.32 and now, in either new or existing projects that have been upgraded, I can no longer reorder topics in a TOC using drag and drop:Has something changed? Has anyone else noticed this? 

Hi I'm using Robohelp 2019 classic. I've researched this and tried it o my own. Is it possible to add a hyperlink in the glossary? I want to link from the glossary to a topic. I don't think it is possible but I am EAGER for someone to prove me wrong. Also I can move to the new Robohelp 2019 if it will make a difference.

Hello,I am trying RH2020 on a new Robohelp project for  using the new translation mode and i wish to try first if the ftp publishing works as same as RH2019(i am trying with the rh project version by default). I always have the error message (picture above) and i'm not able to create a new ftp profile in RH2020 as i do it in RH2019.(all codes are the same only the server directory is different and is not yet created on the ftp sever ) :The ftp publishing in RH2019 works correctly. Has anyone encountered this type of problem?Thank you in advance for your response.MC

Hi, I am using the new UI of RH 2019. I have 4 outputs of responsive HTML 5 projects. One of them is the home page. This home page must present the links to the other 3 projects.  How do I link the home page to the default pages of other projects? 

I asked support, but I didn't understand their response. It came down to "that's just how RoboHelp now works," which isn't very helpful. I'm using RoboHelp 2020 and my code is full of the <span class="PdfCharStyle">  (the "pdfCharStyle" is followed by random numbers). After editing a topic, if I look at the code view, it is full of these span tags, often empty (Example: <span class="PdfCharStyle9"></span>).  Does anyone have a better explanation of this span tags?

I am using the Frameless 'Studio' skin and when I attempt to use the search box, some words will not appear even though my project mentions it throughout almost every topic. Along with this, the search box will sometimes get stuck when searching and won't display any of the searches.e.g.If I search the word 'Form' in my project using the 'Find and Replace' feature, it returns 802 matches from 40+ topics. At first I assumed this issue was due to the search returning a very large amount of matches, but with my second example ( see below ), a similar issue occurs.Another example is if I search the word 'Open' in my project using the same feature, it returns 28 matches. When searched in the skin search box, it displays that there are 13 matches, but will not display them:Thank you in advance for any support.

I'm using RH2020.3 and a Frameless Preset on a project that has a structure not suitable for the tiled home page, so I want it to open with the menus on the left at a specific start topic (i.e. no home page). When I uncheck the "Use skin home page", I get exactly what I need when generating the preset and viewing it from the local path. However, when I publish to IIS, it only works if I enter the full path to the file index.htm (e.g. https://domain/site/index.htm). If I point the browser to the site without including the index file (e.g. https://domain/site/) I get404 - File to directory not found.In IIS, I have index.htm set as the default page, so I'm certain there's nothing wrong with the web server. I think there might be a problem with the RH redirect script "./template/scripts/redirect.js" that called from index.htm. It's getting to index.htm the browser is then being redirected to the wrong URL by that script. In the browser, instead of seeing https://domain/site/

I am using FM2019. I created condition tags for each product chapter in my source FM document. Now I want to generate the Help via the Publish option, using the Indigo html5 skin. My goal is to have the full Help generated but have only designated chapters available (and the rest would be disabled/greyed out?). How do I specify my conditions before generating the output? Perhaps I just didnt see it but I explored the Publish/html5 settings and I am not seeing a way to set the conditions (where my previously created tags are the options). Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.-Bill 

Hi - I am working in a 2 column table. Column 1 is a little PNG # graphic. I am unable to center in the column. Seems I can only left or right justify... Are there any tricks to center a graphic in column  

RH2020.1* (want to test update 2 before deploying to entire RH2020 team) Testing the microcontent JSON output. Specifically, testing the ability to host/present a YouTube video that I have embedded in a topic. End-goal is to (provide JSON files to developers and work with them) display/present the video in a modal. I've seen the RH 2020 demos that include video in chatbot responses; expectation is that this functionality would extend to JSON output. Steps:In existing topic, use RoboHelp to insert a YouTube video (so users can play the video in the topic). Also inserted text above the video instructing the user to play the video.Save changes.Select instruction text and the video with cursor, right-click, and select Add to Microcontent.Select the microcontent group and intent.Save changes.View microcontent group in RoboHelp.
