Given my problem with HTML5 layouts (sections not linking to topics), converting project to Frameless.I feel like an idiot - but I can't seem to add the company logo to the Header (using Oceanic as base). Have Header > Logo selected.In the BACKGROUND section, I have updated the image path to company logo (white png, with transparent background). Image is in content>assets>images.Specified image size (204 px x 82 px)No shading. With Header > logo-box selected, specified the same Image Size. I assume I don't select an image here (although I have tried it both ways).. The company logo simply does not show up in the preview or help. What am I missing? Thx.  

Hi all,Have one issue I can't resolve. I have a RH project that contains several outputs based on person's permissions in app. So, when I type some words in search field under one permissions, I can also see the search results from other output. Could anyone tell me how can I disable search options, so it works only within logged in permissions? Thanks!

Hello! I'm using the "indigo" skin for a repsonsive HTML5 layoour and I've pretty much customised it to a point where I'm happy. However, there is one thing I haven't been able to do and that is to customise the ToC buttons on the main page to use a custom image, such that each item will have a different image that I can define. Below is how it looks now: And here is how I'd like it to look (apologies for the poor mockup!): As you can see, the "book" icon has been replaced with a unique custom image for each of the three items on the main page. I've checked the Indigo settings and it only permits me to choose a custom icon for only ONE book or item and that icon will be used for everything of that type, which is obviously not what I want. I can't see any easy way to do this - and note that the main index page could have upwards of 30 items and I'd like a custom image for each of them - so was hoping that someone here can help me out!Thanks!

Hi, Everyone. In RH 2019, new UI, I'm trying to avoid inline formatting/styling as a best practice. But if I use the buttons in the toolbar to create, say, an unordered bullet list or a table, is that in-line styling? I ask because when I look at the code view, I don't see <span> tags around them.  Thank you!

I have created my connection profile but when I try to add a project I get the following error: Failed call with repositoryClient: Unauthorized. Check your authentication credentials and try again. I can access this repository directly in Visual Studio and create new projects so I am not sure why my authentication credentials are not working.

We use a lot of images. Many of them can be used in multiple topics for different reasons. Is there a way to keep track of previously generated images for future use. We currently recreate images for diffrent topics because we don't have a method to find the original and reuse it. We are using RoboHelp 2019.0.12

Hi everyone!I'm new to technical writing but will be taking over the primary help text authoring duties at my workplace in a couple of months. We use RoboHelp, and I've been learning a bit of it on my own, but I learned yesterday that there may be some training dollars available for me to take an actual RoboHelp class. I'm interested in learning everything I can but with the intent to publish a lot of content in the Responsive HTML5 output. I have no background with HTML, CSS, etc.I found a few courses through searching the web, but I am a bit in the dark about which one would be the best. Given my goals and level of experience, does anyone have a recommendation? Either from the list I have below, or another course that you know of? Hi all,I am looking for a way to disable search auto-complete in a Responsive HTML5 output in RoboHelp 2019 Classic (Charcoal Grey layout). The issue is that the auto-complete also suggests the name of the images in the project (which contain "_" in the file names) - and the solution is not to rename all the images.Do you maybe have any idea on how I can disable the search auto-complete? We have many images that appear in multiple places in the project. I am looking for a way to update all instances of an image when I modify the original image. I am using RoboHelp 2019.0.12

I have a number of links to windchillhelp KB so I only have to update in one place. I cannot open links to windchillhelp with the setting: Display in frame: Page Default (none). This works in Internet Explorer without issue, but does not work for Chrome, FireFox and MS Edge. I just upgraded to robohelp 2020 and having major problems with the product not displaying my help correctly. The upgrade went smoothly, and when I first display the output the TOC displays. However, the index and search does not work. When I go back to the TOC after going to the index, now the TOC no longer displays. Any ideas?  Could this be an IE problem? IE is the default browser here so it has to work for IE.thanks to all that  respond

I have a HUGE project that I've been editing in RH 2019 Classic (though it has been developled over MANY years). But now our IT guys say I need to upgrade it to regular(?) RH 2019. I've let it run overnight twice, and it still only makes it through about 10%. It looks like it's hung, and it's still using almost 18% of my CPU. I have no idea what to do. Any thoughts?Thanks!

Hi All I am a Technical Writer and used robohelp before about 5 yeas ago.  I am learning the latest version 2020. Here are some initial questions i have that I was seeking help on:   1  I cant find information on how to create a style from scratch can someone please send me the steps?2. When you you actually publish your project?3. Has anyone tried the publishing output to Zendesk and if yes do you like it?4. I was able to merge my older robohelp file and generate it in this version of Robohelp. When i generate my project samples to various outputs, the only one that works with my pop up glossary definitions is webhelp? The other outputs generate and my links work but not my pop up conditional help any idea why? 5. Please remind me when I use map ID's. They are seperate from glossary pop up right? is that the conditional help? I am getting confused between expanding text, drop down text, glossary popup. I'm using RH 2020.0.156. I just set up my Git connection and successfully added my project. However, since then, I've made changes, tried to commit, and run into two errors:The first time I tried to commit, the commit just spun and spun, but never finished (or comitted). Thinking this was some sort of bug, I closed and reopened RH.The second time I tried to commit, the Commit window showed that no files were available to commit. I closed and reopened several more times, made a few superficial changes, and RH never showed there were changes that needed to be committed. 

Hi all,I am testing the update 12 for RH 2019 new UI on a virtual machine. For most of my projects, the responsive HTML5 output is working. However, it is NOT working for my parent project and also not for new projects.What I did:I created a new project. I just use the existing default topic. I did not add any css, master pages or the like. I used the output path Documents\My Robohelp Projects\ (this path is working for the other projects). When I start the HTML5 output (I also created several of them, not always using the same one), it says "Starting generation" and this is it. This message is displayed for hours. If I try to dismiss the output, the message to the bottom left disappears, but the output is still trying to generate. The log is offered in the context menu, but cannot be opened. Does anyone have similar issues? Any ideas where I might search for the problem? Thanks and best regardsKarin

In RH 2020.0.156, When creating a hyperlink to a bookmark, I search for the bookmark by name and nothing comes back. Other objects that contain the same word do come back, like images and topics. To be sure I copied/pasted the bookmark name into the search box and can't find it. If I browse the Contents instead, finding the topic then the bookmark, I can select it fine. Why doesn't the search find it?

As above - working in the source, and added the following (because - other paragraph styles in middle of list): <ol start="3"><li>Click <span style="font-weight: bold;">Submit</span> to remove the user. Notifications are sent out to delete the user ...</li></ol> It seems to have no effect in the output (at least, using preview), and there is no simple right-click option as in previous versions to edit numbering attributes.  I assume making a change to the list style itself would be propagated through all lists with that style.

Hello,I recently received a report from one of our partners that the Search feature does not work with Microsoft HTML Help files (CHM) localized in Chinese or Japanese. Some research shows that the issue is likely related to a mix of character and encodings (ANSI) and Windows libraries not registered for computers outside those regions (DLL issues). However, all the articles to resolve these issues appear to be around 10 years old and not applicable to Windows 10.  I have tried the solutions in the old articles anyhow, but still cannot get search to work with Chinese or Japanese CHM files. Is there a modern solution for this issue? I realize CHM is very long in the tooth, but the client software has deep integrations with map IDs, etc., that only work with an embedded CHM. Thank you in advance!

Hi, Everyone. I'm trying to edit the ordered list style. I want to increase vertical spacing between list items. In the styles editor, I click the increase-vertical-space button. And it gives me what I want. (See screenshot, below.) HOWEVER, the period after the number has disappeared. How do I add it back? Thank you! 

We would like to use the Studio frameless skin for our project but we do not want the header, since the generated content will be embedded in our web portal that already has a header of its own.  I have looked at this post: https://community.adobe.com/t5/robohelp/is-there-a-way-to-remove-the-header-desktop-completely/m-p/8091667?page=1But the solution offered does not seem to work with frameless skins.Can anyone help me?Thanks.

Is there any schedule of when the first update for RH2020 will be released? While I don't expect it to fix all of my woes, I'm sure some have been addressed. Looking forward to seeing what drops. 

I am using RoboHelp 2019 Classic, and a long-time RoboHelp user.  We had a similar problem before with tic marks and quotes, but this time it's Copyright and Registered Trademark symbols. It appears to be happening only when help gets launched from our company's web application in Chrome. Issue is that direct display of the topic from output or File Explorer is fine, but when launched and displayed from within our application it has the dreaded A^ before the symbol.I do see that in the HTML there is a RoboHelp tag surrounding the symbol - <?rh-symbol_start name="Registered" ?>®<?rh-symbol_end ?>So the symbol appears OK in the project and output - but just NOT from our application.I also tried using the HTML codes, both the number and entity, of "®"  and "®" for registered, within the RH tag.  But these get automatically resolved into the symbols.  And then still display wrong in the application. I have seen other posts similar

Using trial of RH2020 (upgrade from 2017) and it is ... unintuitive and somewhat buggy. Couple of questions/notes based on my experience so far. 1) Related Topics - Where are they in the user interface Standard Toolbar? They appear to have ported over from an upgraded topic, but I don't see any RELATED TOPICS icon in the toolbar. Goes Glossary > See Also > Microcontent. I see mention of "Related Topics" in the help and in posts in this forum, but damned if I can figure out where the icon is to create new related topics. 2) What is it with combining lists and paragraph styles? Say I create an ordered or bulleted list - when I apply a paragraph style TO that list, I get double-paragraphs between each list entry (instead of a single paragraph) in the Author UI. It does appear that you should be applying formatting to the list (not the paragraph), but I'm having trouble aligning the left margin/indent. 3) What is it with upgrades? I click on Help > Check for Up

Hi all,I am using RH2019 new UI, update 14. I am generating a responsive HTML output using a master file with breadcrumbs. Until update 12, my breadcrumb separators had a space in front of them on all "levels" (e. g. Home > First_Folder > Second_Folder > Current_Topic). That is how I want it to look like. Since upddate 13, the space is only applied in front of the first separator after "Home", for the others, the space is missing. My breadcrumb now looks like this: (Home > First_Folder> Second_Folder> Current_Topic). So, the space between "Folder" and the separator is missing. Is there anything I can do to get it back? I have been playing around with the master page, but with no luck so far.Thanks and best regardsKarin
