I have a help project (RoboHelp 2017) and I want to change the heading at the top of each tab in the browser. I've changed the project name, tried a number of different things, and after generating the HTML WebHelp project, the old tab headings still display.
Good afternoon, I was trying to customize the Screen Layout Page for the homepage xml file to include whether html or a specific topic content, is there anyway to do so?Thank you Christele
Just upgraded from RH11 to RH2019 Classic, and my brain insists on seeing the "new" conditional tag highlighting as underlines, not overlines, so I keep panicking that random bits of text have somehow been conditioned... :S >:[ :@
Hi guys, so, stupid question. In RH2015, RH2017 and RH2019 (Classic) I used to be able to close open topic tabs by middle-clicking them with the mouse wheel (similar to closing browser tabs). However, that's no longer an option and I can't find a setting where I can set it. I just tested with the Classic, and it still works just fine in Classic, but on the new UI it's gone. I find it a bit annoying to have to finely click with the mouse on the little "X" on every open topic every time I want to close a bunch of topics (it happens quite a lot), and I was wondering if there's an easier way, or a feature I'm missing?
I have a Related Topics sections on each help topic. Typically we add 2 to 3 related help topics as links here. Is it possible to add a link to a book instead of a help topic?
I was using RoboHelp 2017 and I've decided to migrate to RH 2019. Besides getting in shock with new interface I clicked Upgrade RoboHelp Classic Project thinking it would be just adapting my project to RH 2019. However, when I tried to export to HTML5 my RH has collapsed. It has been freezing in "Patching topic" message for several minutes, so clicking on "Dismiss" was my only choice after 10 minutes waiting. Then it didn't generate my output in HTML5 and it even didn't give me an error message to understand why it happened. I didn't change any setting on RH 2019, just opened my project and tried to export it to HTML5 format. So I closed RoboHelp and tried it again, but the same happened again and again... I hope you can help me, thanks in advance!
Hi Folks, I have a TOC on the left pane and the content area on the right pane. While clicking one of the topics, every time a new page is displayed on the content area. The previous content is no longer available on the current page. Every topic content is separate from one another. BUT, I want to have all the content (for all the topics) to be displayed on a single page, i.e right pane. If I click on a topic from the left pane, immediately the cursor should go to the respective content and display in the content area. Look forward to your help. TIA
We recently upgraded to Robohelp 2019, and I've been converting our projects from previous versions. This was mostly fine, but one helpfile (our largest project - just over 1000 topics) is causing a significant drain on memory usage while using the new program (this was not an issue in Robohelp 2017 / 2019 Classic) In terms of memory usage, when first opened I'm seeing the project using about 1.2GB of memory in task manager. At this point, while the memory usage is quite high, Robohelp is still very much usable. However, each time I try to add a hyperlink, edit an existing hyperlink or fix a broken link, a few things happen:The hyperlink pop-up is very slow to load (taking about 10 seconds before it renders). The memory usage increases by 150-200 MB, and will not decrease, even after closing the pop-up. After editing about 6 hyperlinks, the memory usage has increased to about 2.2 GB, and continues to rise each time the pop-up is loaded - the only way to reduce this is to resta
I have a couple of older RH 11 Help systems that I need to move into RH 2019. I also have one RH 2015 Responsive HTML Help system to migrate to RH 2019. Any tips, warnings, advice?
I am trying to import FrameMaker documents into RoboHelp, but the results are not so good. While some it works fine - like breaking down into topics - other things seems shaky. My FrameMaker document holds a bunch of svg files which have been imported by reference. When I import that document into Robohelp, the svg files have become jpg files. There is an import option which should allow the referenced graphics from the FrameMaker document to stay in their original format, but I can't make it work. Jpg files is what I get, no matter what option I choose. But not only that. The jpg files have been cropped as per their cropping in the FrameMaker document and not per their original dimensions.Am I just confused or mistaken here or is this a bug?
Has anyone else found, after upgrading to Update 11, that the first time Classic is launched it takes about 15 minutes to open? Subsequent launches seem to be okay. (edited to clarify title)
I have lost the original source documents used to create a set of help files (.chm).Can I import them into latest copy of RoboHelp to allow editing?
I'm working with RoboHelp 2017, generating webhelp that is hosted on a server and also installed with our software. Our software is aware of whether or not an Internet connection exists, and will call the locally installed help in the event that there is no Internet connection (or in the event that the user has turned off the use of web-based help via the application setup). When the default browser is set to Microsoft Edge (tested in version 41.16299.334.0), local help runs into some problems. One is that the navigation panel is blank. This seems to be addressed by reloading the page, so it's not an absolute deal-breaker, although I'd sure love to fix it. The major issue, however, is that context sensitivity does not function at all-- the help simply opens to our designated default page. Context sensitivity works fine on the hosted help, and works on both hosted and local help in other browsers.Anyone have any insight on this? Many thanks.
Our new product version is going to be web-based. Earlier we were using .chm help file. Can anyone guide me on the options/procedure for creating/converting help for our new version of product.
We have published Update 11 for RoboHelp 2019. Go to Help > Updates to update your version. Here are more details about this update: https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/kb/fixed-issues.html.
I still don't understand what the best way to use lists is. What I am getting is that you should define your own styles and not use the list styles in Robohelp? Also, because I have imported some word documents that had the autoformating of bulleted lists on, now lists are not behaving correctly in those files. I cant seem to reapply new list styles? Even when I go into the code and try and delete the old tags, the new styles are not applied correctly. Am I going to have to reimport those word documents? Also is there some information on how to create your own list sytles in CSS somewhere? Thanks!
Where can I find the Update 11 Release Notes? I have looked in all the usual places but no luck.
In my project I have two image folders: images and images_draft. The images_draft is for rough placeholder screenshots that I need to do again, so I can easily find them. Once I have copied the final image over the original image in the drafts folder (with Windows Explorer), I move the finished image within the RH UI from the draft folder to the images folder, so that all links in all topics are updated. However, today I moved 20 or so images at the same time. One of the topics that had a link to one of these images is now 0 kb. I noticed more topics (and even a complete TOC) disappearing randomly over the past few weeks. Now is the first time I could pinpoint it.Not sure if this also happens when moving a huge number of topics themselves around. Seems to me like some kind of timing error that just stops writing a file that is being copied. If this can be reproduced this is a SERIOUS bug... My project is on my local disk, as is RH. So this isn't a network issue. Anyone else n
Hi,another question for printed documentation which drives me crazy. In my RH 2017 Classic project, I have multiple tables and table styles:* By default and in the table style "celum", the table should have all borders.* In the table style "no-border", the table should have no borders. I am using a dedicated css file for the print output (so no Word style mapping) and everything else works fine, but no matter which table style is applied to a table in my project, the borders are never present in the Word output, even though I am explicitly (and with !important) specifying the borders for all relevant table styles as well as the default table in the print.css:table { table-layout: auto ! important ; width: 100%; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif ! important; border: 1px solid #585858; } table td { vertical-align: top ! important ; word-break: break-word !important; padding: 5px ! important ; border: 1px solid #585858; } table th { vertical-align: middle ! import
Using RH 2019.0.10 - the front cover of a PDF is inserted at the start of the document AND also at the end of the document. This was not happening in 2019.0.9.This is messing with the page numbering if I delete the erroneous page so a quick fix is desirable. Is anyone else experiencing it? ThanksMichelle
When I generate to Microsoft HTML the CHM file does not show me the names of the topics because they are in cycillic, I only see those signs -, _, /.I have already set the language to Bulgarian in the Output Presets.
I made a short video for my RoboHelp topic and inserted it as MP4. After publishing the project, the video is not loading. Is there a specific format to upload video? I used inset>multimedia. Is there another way to do it properly? Thanks
When I import a FrameMaker 2019 document into RoboHelp 2019 the svg files which were referenced into the FrameMaker document, are converted to jpg files. I do put a checkmark in "Do not regenerate files" in the import setting. I was expecting RoboHelp to use the files used in the FrameMaker document, but it seems i generates its own. Why is that?...
Running RoboHelp 2019 new, update 10Generating Frameless output, with Orange skin Created a custom footer, as a topic in RoboHelp.Inserted several links to other topics I created in RoboHelp (e.g., Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Search Tips).Assigned my custom footer topic for the home page and topic pages in the skin editor.Generated output.Viewed output in web browser. The custom footer appears correctly when viewing/accessing home page and topics.Links in the footer are present, but if I click on any of them, I get following error: Your file was not foundIt may have been moved or deleted.ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND Here's the URL of the link target, copied from the browser address window:file:///C:/Users/RoboFan/Documents/My%20RoboHelp%20Projects/outputs/Trailfinder/Frameless/template/trailfinder/search-tips.htm Here's the HTML code for the hyperlink, as it appears in the footer topic in the RoboHelp project:<a class="topic" href="../search-tips.htm">Search Tips</a
I have imported some word docs to Robohelp with the Autoformat option still set. Now, even when I remove the bullets in the code, when I try to use the list styles in Robohelp, I still get double bullets and numbers in my lists? Does anyone know how I remove these?
