I am using RoboHelp Classic 2019. When generating my project to Responsive HTML 5 output, the layout is not applied. It previously worked fine, but now I'm getting this when I generate it (without the layout). Any clues to why this is happening?
I'm working with Robohelp 2019 and am customizing the Azure Blue skin. Is there a way to delete a button? I'm not needing the glossary and I can't find where I can delete the icon.
Hi, I am currently using RoboHelp 2019 with Patch 8 release. I want a frameless ouput with Orange skin which I want to customize as per my project requirements. I have few questions around it: 1. Can we edit Orange Skin with source code or any editor? 2. How can I remove image from generated output. I just need TOC names to come as a list after publishing. 3. For our current project, we have used Charcoal Grey (HTML5) output, which we have got customized as per our current project requirements and branding guidelines. When we import this new Skin in New Robohelp tool after upgrading the project, similar HTML5 output is not coming. Do we need to get all customization again for this skin in upgraded robohelp or is there any other workaround solution?
Hi Peter and Amitoj: Was the multi level list issue above ever resolved? We use multi level lists extensively and they work fine in RH 2017, but when I upgraded to RH 2019 Classic and output to Responsive HTML 5 the formatting is off. I can't figure out how to resolve it in the code editor. The style sheet applies fine in RH 2017 and also in webhelp outputs and looks fine in the topic Preview.
Does anyone know what these package xml files in the whxdata folder are and why I might have so many of them? I did have about 1100 files in this folder and then something (I'm not sure what) happened and now I have 2444 files.
I am trying to generate printed documentation, but I get the message that a supported version of Word doesn't exist and to load a 2000 version or newer. I have a subscription for Word 2016. Is there a way to make it work?
In the responsive html5 online help we have the following structure:Plans chapter- topic A- topic B- topic CNew Plans chapter- topic A- topic B- topic CThe Plans chapter entails all help topics of the legacy module of the application. This co-exists with the new application module. The New Plans chapter holds the help topics for the latest development. The same functionality is available in the legacy application and the new application at the moment. Eventually the older functionality will be phased out.The requirement is that when the users search for topic A, it should ideally only fetch the topic A from the New Plans chapter. How can we achieve this?If I apply Exclude from Search for Plans chapter > topic A, would the search automatically pick topic A from new Plans chapter? That should be good then.Any thoughts?
Hi fellow Helpers. I am using drop-down help quite extensively in my project. However now when I generate the help, some of the drop downs are open (expanded) before they are clicked on. I've done a few experiments to see if there is a reason for this but I can't figure it out. Some of the drop down text is inside snippets and I'm not sure if this is causing the problem. I've tried saving and generating the help with the drop down boxes closed and I have got in the habit of resetting my browser history each time I view newly-generated help. It just seems pretty random to me. Short of resetting the drop down links to read "Show / Hide more info" rather then "Show more info" Im at a loss as to what to do. Any hints, tips / revelations to get my drop downs display "un-expanded" when the help opens, would be much appreciated. Regards john V
I have two questions about Sharepoint and RH 2017: 1. When working with project files stored in SharePoint, are you able to connect directly to those files in SharePoint and work with them in real time from Robohelp? Or does the process involved checking them out to local spot and working with the local copy then checking files back in? If I open a Word document from SharePoint while in Microsoft Word ... that file opens in Word and saves changes back to SharePoint directly for me until I close Word. Wondering if similar thing meant to happen in RH. 2. Anyone have instructions for setting up the connection between RH 2017 and Sharepoint? Specifically, what you entered in the SharePoint Site field of the Connection Details window? I did the following and can't get my Test Conncection to succeed after trying a few variations of what I thought was the correct URL for my company's SharePoint site. Only instructions I find when searching online seem to be RH 2019-based and talk
Examining the styles provided by RH 2019 in the default.css file via text editor and noticed a list style that doesn't get surfaced in the RH 2019 UI. Wondering if anyone knows what it's in there for (see blue text below - styles in gray provided for context/location in CSS). ol.minitoc-list { padding-left: 0; margin-left: 0; list-style: none;}ol.minitoc-list ol { list-style: none;}a.minitoc-list-item {}
Im using Robohelp 2017. Currently, working on webhelp content, where I dont need Folder or Topic icons/images in the TOC. Unable to find solution for it.
I am using RH6. I placed my cursor in the middle of a paragraph. I expected to insert text there (that is, I expected new text to appear at my cursor while preserving existing text). Instead, I was overtyping existing text (that is, as I typed, existing text was overwritten by new text). I searched RH6 Help and the Adobe site for "overtype" and "overstrike" but found nothing. Any ideas?
Hello everyone, I really like the functionality of the Adobe Robohelp User Guide site experience - https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/user-guide.html. Wondering if this was actually built using Robohelp? If so, would anyone be able to let me know if there exists any ready-made templates that are similar to it or get the actual project template from Adobe? I'm just trying to work on a short timeframe and want to get as much functionality from a UI standpoint within a template. Thanks,Karthik
Hello all, I'm experiencing a critical issue with the Frameless output. I use RH2019 update 9 (including the hotfix, but also tried without it). The project includes multiple merged projects. When I generate the project and test it offline, it works OK, but as soon as I publish it on a server and access the published site, the following issues occur:- The search does not return any results for content within merged projects when you initiate search from a topic within a merged proejct. On the home page or a parent project page, the search works correctly.- Navigation/opening topics: all elements, except the topic body, are loaded with a delay. The more merged projects the longer the delay. If I open the Chrome console, there are errors for every merged project:Failed to load resource: net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED projectdata.js:1The script doesn't get the path to the projectdata.js correctly, it looks into an absolute path that doesn't include the domain name: https://mergedPro
Hi,When I launch context-sensitive help topic in Chrome I get this Click here to see this page in full context option as expected in the top-right. It does not show up in IE. Any idea how to fix this? Is this an IE issue? Any workaround?
Hi,Need a suggestion here.We have help pages with mapIDs defined and they are launched as context-sensitive help pages on the web application on the respective web pages. So as always has been, the page is associated with the mapID.With Angular and HTML5 that the UI development team is now using, many operation happen on the same web page. So the page/URL stays the same but the content or tasks the users does on the page can change drastically. We have multiple tabs on the same page and each tab has some actions. So the mapID that calls a specific context-sensitive help page may not not show relevant content if the user is on a different tab, although the page/URL is the same and the page that is called is correct.Any idea how to handle this?
First Word import into RH2019 (same import works fine in RH2017). Kept all the defaults during import and it seemed to complete without error. However, after trying to view the resulting content and/or the index (which surprisingly is empty??) I get the following error in the lower right corner of RH2019:Indeed, after restarting, opening the previously, newly created project and attempting to browse the results of the import similarly fails and results in the above application error again. So, I guess RH2019 can't import the same Word document that RH2017 had no trouble with . And now the project seems broken enough to crash RH2019.This, after RH2019 has already seen two updates, does not give me any confidence in this new release (yikes). Unfortunately, I've already paid for the upgrade... Disappointing to say the least.
I'm using Robohelp 2019 and am wanting to use a frameless skin but that option is not showing up in the dropdown menu. The only ones available are New WebHelp Skin, New HTML5 Skin, and Import. I also want to design one from scratch but that is not an option either.
After publishing my merged project, I am facing issue with the Search, the seach box displays potential results, but when clicked on them nothing is displayed and this issue is with my Responsive HTML5 output locally as well as on Server.
Hi everyone, Since I installed RoboHelp 2019 back in July, I've always had the following issue with snippets: When trying to create a snippet, the snippet file is automatically named after either the project name or my Windows user name. In effect, it always becomes myname.htm. When I try to save the project after creating a snippet, it doesn't seem to save. The snippet doesn't appear in the snippet list. The only method that seems to work is to create one in the snippet folder itself. As it's a big part of single-sourcing, I absolutely need to get this sorted. It's not really viable to do it that way all the time. Thanks.
Hello, I am using RoboHelp2019. I would like to assign to each topic an English title and a German title. I have set two filters (English and German). The purpose is when I click the german filter, the topic title is shown in german and vice-versa. I added these lines in the HTML code, but that does not work:
We have perpetual license for Robo help 11.x, which has not expired. Can we use the existing license keys to download and install RoboHelp 2019? If yes, how to.
EDIT: Peter and Adobe are now aware of these issues, and I'm working with them to find a solution. If anyone else experiences the problems I've found, they're working on it. Any updates or workarounds will be posted at the end of this thread. I have tried to generate Word output from the RoboHelp Reimagined project, but the result has multiple issues. These issues concern both the use of a CSS to generate the word styles, as well the use of a Word template to map the Word styles to. I have created a test project, where I start off by creating Word output by CSS only, and then step by step use a Word template to map the styles, style by style. I have added a lot of screenshots to show which settings are used, and what the result looks like in Word and which styling is used. You can find this project and its description here:https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/109ytnkuZEcXCvrVYbHmu87TLnVLsQmvk Summary:When generating from CSS, RH also adds Heading1, Heading2, etc.
I am using Adobe RoboHelp 2019. I use to get the output in form of printed documentation (MS-Word).I have installed Microsoft Office Proofreading Tools. When I go through the output in MS-Word, I could see a lot of grammatical as well as other suggestions which RoboHelp Review option doesn't show or suggests. Following are such examples:Active/Passive VoiceSubject-verb agreementCorrect punctuation and spacingUsing simple and concise languageCapitalizationand many more. It becomes very tedious if I find something like this becuase after correcting or changing the content, I have to do the same changes in RoboHelp source file. Is Adobe working on it?
Hi,Is it possible to keep the TOC in the navigation pane of Online Help auto-expanded, so that the user doesn't have to click a book in the TOC to open rhe topics inside it? If yes, could you guide me with the steps to achieve it, please? Can a user view a book and the topics inside it by default with no click action needed on the book? Thanks and Regards,Arijit
