I'm having trouble using RoboHelp with SVN source control. One of these tools is renaming my files. The developer adding the help to the app tells me that bullet.png has been deleted from the output. I see it in my working copy. However, in the !SSL! file and published out put file, it has been renamed to bullet_nc.png. Therefore, it shows as missing when I commit. I then delete bullet.png because I think it is no longer used...and on we go. Why is the name correct in the working copy, but not in the published help? This keeps happening with graphic and html files and I look like an idiot to the developers. Help! Post branched as it is a different issue to the one it was tacked onto.
In Frameless output, the homepage displays all books in the TOC as topics in homepage which makes it long. When I tried to remove a book/topic from TOC, it doesn't appear in the final output at all. Is there a way to separate TOC from what popualr topics I want to highlight in help homepage?
We have combined several applications into a single "platform" web interface. The customer can buy separate licenses for the individual apps, and we don't want someone to see the help for an app they don't own. Since several of the apps interrelated, they share some help pages. I would like to have a single Robohelp project for the "platform" to reduce the Robohelp footprint and to allow me to share pages between app helps. I was thinking just creating separate TOCs would keep things segregated. However, since the search function searches the entire project, you could find information about apps you don't own in a search query. The only solution I can think of is to have separate help projects for individual apps. Does anyone have any suggestions on how they might approach the problem?
I am trying to create a preview version of an eBook: a selectively cut-down version of the larger one. So, I have used "hide in output" in each Topic's TOC property to exclude several topics, without deleting them from the eBook. When published as Responsive HTML5, as planned, these topics which are excluded intentionaly from the preview version are no longer displayed. I can also exclude the index successfully, so that readers of the preview version can not use it to navigate to index words in topic text in excluded topics. Problem is that I cannot find a way to completely exclude the search feature in the preview version. The reader can still search a word in the preview version, and upon clicking the result, even for an excluded topic, can still navigate to and view that excluded topic. Not sure if there is any way to disable all search? (If not, the only option would be to delete all excluded topics from the preview version, create a new cut-down version
Looking to add keywords, for search. to URL pages add to the ToC (these are not topics in the project manager). I am using Robohelp 2015. Has anyone had any luck doing this?
I'm using RoboHelp 19 Classic. The TOC books were working correctly until 2 days ago. I'm using Google Chrome is up to date Version 77.0.3865.90 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Researching/prepping the move to RH2019 with GIT as a version control solution for a mult-author enviro. Current Environment 4-writers (RH licenses/users) Currently running RH2017 with RoboSource Control + MS SQL Server Express 2005 (hey, it's been reliable!) I'm new to GIT. My understanding is that the default methodology for performing version control tasks (e.g. check-outs/check-ins) is provided via command line. Our writers are more writers than computer geeks; in our currnet version control enviro, they simply start editing a topic and it's auto-checked out. When they're done, they can check it in by clicking a single button (e.g., check in all from RH's collaborate tab). With GIT, I understand there are third-party GUI clients available that'll assist with many/most of the version control functions. Does anyone have any recommendations or experience with GIT GUI clients they can share (free or for purchase)? Or perhaps I don't fully understand how RH2017 + GIT ver
I installed a font and authored my content using RoboHelp 2019. My question - since I have installed a font for my content I just wanted to know if the font will render in the end user's machine.
Hello and TIA to all, We have an already developed internet-based application. I write the Help documentation in RH Classic 2019 and know nothing about C++/JS/other languages used. Our developers are looking to add a tip or help link to specific items in our window. I thought of context sensitive help in RH and have been researching it for about a week. I don't want to link these tips to our online WebHelp, they just want small popup windows with content in them. Am I right in concluding I should be creating a new project with each topic being the text for each popup, then go through the process to create the Map IDs and the .h file and publish it and finally, giving them the entire generated folder, the .h file and the Map IDs so that those files can be hosted with our application? If I'm not correct, please let me know what it is I'm supposed to give to the developers aside from the Map ID file and where this context-only published Help should then be placed. I've relie
We are interested in providing a project published in SharePoint to a client, so they can then edit the files and TOC of the project. How much of this is possible? Are there any recorded webinars on the subject? TIA...
Hi there, This query is regarding RoboHelp 2017. On the cover page, I have some text and an image. I want to send the image behind the text on the page. There are options to keep the text at the left, right and above and below the image. I tried adding the image on the master page and applied that master for the cover page topic, but it did not work. Please, could you suggest if there is any other option? Regards,Nagraj
Hi! I'm having a little problem with some of the pictures in my output after upgrading from RH19 Classic to RH2019 Reimagined. Some of the pictures are perfectly fine, while others only show up like this: Does anybody know what the problem could be and how to solve it? Thanks, /K.
This was a great review Jared(Review at https://community.adobe.com/t5/RoboHelp/My-RoboHelp-2019-Review/m-p/10645169#M126594)and I agree with you on many of your topics! I'm pretty new to RoboHelp and I thought I'd just give it a shot and ask you a question of mine. I've just upgraded a project from RH Classic to "Re-imagined" and I have trouble getting the "locate"-button to appear in the HTML helpfile (after generating the output). I have already "clicked" the "locate"-box in the Window Settings. Is there something else I can do to make the "locate"-button appear in my output again (just like it does in the Classic version)?I am really greatful for any answer you could give me. Thanks, K.
A fix has been issued for the following issues. The responsive HTML5 output in RoboHelp Classic removes parentheses (used in the content) from output. Topics in responsive HTML5 output contain blank space before topic headings. Script error is shown in the Console of Internet Explorer 11 for frameless output. The “.dotx” file type filter is missing from the Word Document Preset Properties. Word output generation fails on exceeding the maximum size of the output log file. In French, German, and Japanese locales, the character styles cannot be applied. It can be downloaded from the Adobe site. Hot fix for RoboHelp Update 9 (2019 release)
Hello Robohelp Community, In the Robohelp Project I am working on, we currently generate our content to a different folder than the Defualt !ssl! Output Folder. I was wondering if there is any problem or drawback to deleting the previously generated contents of this folder (right now it seems to just be taking up space and causing our backups to take longer). Will this harm the current project in any way? I appreciate any help. Thank you in advance.
I converted one of our large RH 2015 projects to RH 2019. Everything went smoothly up until I tried to generate the Responsive HTML5 output. For some odd reason, the styles aren't applying in the output. I checked the topics to ensure they're linking to the correct CSS file, and they are. Has anyone run into this issue before and resolved it?
Using Robohelp 2019.0.8, I'd like to use Condition Expressions to generate PDFs each of a single topic or set of topics from a large project typically used to generate a Frameless static help system. This does not seem to be working. From the Author view, I created a Condition Tag, applied it to a single topic by right-clicking the topic from the Contents list and selecting Apply Condition Tags. From the Output view, I created a Condition Expression to include using the Condition Tag. Then in the Printed Documentation Output, I selected the Condition Expression. When I generate the PDF, it includes everything, or at least much more than just the single topic. Any idea how to make this work so I can maintain the content in one location only? Many thanks!

We have 6 separate RH2019 projects all but one will generate output with no issues. The 6th project which is very large +2500 files,,,,The output process starts as we can see the output files being generated then at about 2200 files it just hangs...No errors, no response - let set 24 hrs on 2 different occassions. We were informed by Adobe Support this is most likely due to memory leaks. They are still researching for us to find resolution. This is critical for our RH2019 implementation. Has anyone else had similar issue and/or suggested fix? We are using the latest patch RH2019 (14.0.9) - For this same project the 14.0.9 patch did fix our issue of not being able to add this same project to our GIT repo.
RoboHelp 2019 outputs some images as black rectangles instead of images when producing HTML. Context We've upgraded from FrameMaker 11 and RoboHelp 10 to FrameMaker 2019 and RoboHelp 2019. Frame 11 and RoboHelp 10 are on a Windows 7 machine. Frame 2019 and RoboHelp 2019 are on a Windows 10 machine. See screenshot for visual. As always, any help is much appreciated.
Hi there, I have been using the index a lot in previous RH versions, and I also used to re-organize it quite often. I have tried doing the same in RH 2019 update 9 new UI, with no success. Here's what I want to do: I have a couple of index words already containing a couple of topics. Now I detect that I have taken the same word in different spelling in the index. I now want to combine these two index words into 1. Previoulsy, I could simply rename one of the index keys and give it the same name as the other one. I was then asked, if I wanted to combine the keys and have all topics in the new key. In RH2019, I get an error message that the new name already exists. Another thing is, I would like to be able to drag & drop topics from my project structure under an index word. In large projects, I do not know what I have already defined and what not. Furthermore, I am missing the proposal of already defined keys when adding keys to a project. So I have no way of knowing how exact
The spell check in RoboHelp 2019 is not working. It does not even find a single issue in the entire project. I tried making intentional spelling mistakes as well. Can someone help me understand if I am missing something as I installed RoboHelp last week.
Hi all,I suppose that the vast majority of the users haven't yet tried RH 2019, but maybe some of the beta testers can shed some light or guide my troubleshooting.I have installed a trial of RH 2019 and upgraded all my projects from 2017 to 2019. Now, with the exception of one project, I can't generate any output. I tried both WebHelp and Responsive, I tried recreating the output presets (SSLs), I tried rebooting several times, nothing works... As far as I can tell, RH manages to empty out the output folder, generates some JavaScript files in whxdata, then stops. I don't think the log is displayed in real-time anymore (or at least I couldn't find it), and if I try to view the log by right-clicking the output, I get an error. The samples generate without any problem. The only project I can get to work is the master, which has 3 topics and ~35 merged projects. Other projects (ranging between 10 and hundreds of topics) just fail silently.Edit: Considering that the samples do work, I unders
Hi All, I've done some searching and have the start of this. Per Subject, I would like to link to a provided index.htm file that is included in the release CHM directory. I searched the forum and found the following: describes the JS to get the relative URL https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/desktop/htmlhelp/example--link-to-a-file-outside-of-your-help-system?redirectedfrom=MSDN So here is what I tried. I created a script in the RH2019.Patch9 project. function URL_Parser(fn) { var X, Y, sl, a, ra, link; ra = /:/; a = location.href.search(ra); if (a == 2) X = 14; else X = 7; sl = "\\"; Y = location.href.lastIndexOf(sl) + 1; link = 'file:///' + location.href.substring(X, Y) + fn; location.href = link; } Then I simply added a Button1 URL as follows: <a onclick="URL_Parser('index.htm')" style="text-decoration: underline; color: green; cursor: hand">Link to QSG</a> Ho
