Hopefully, this is my last question for the day.I'm importing a Word document into RoboHelp 2019 and seeing some odd numbering issues.In my project I have set up Heading 2s for topics, Heading 4s for procedures, which should initiate autonumbering that starts at 1).In the attached graphic, somehow the numbering is showing up adjacent to the Heading 2. Additionally, restart numbering at 1 does not occure after the second Heading 4, which is the expected behavior.All of this looks good in my Word doc, so I figure something weird is happening with the import. Right?

My FrameMaker book is linked to RoboHelp. Initially in the RoboHelp conversion settings, I set the FM numbered list styles to "Convert Autonumber to HTML List" and mapped them to BodyLevel1 and BodyLevel2. That worked fine for the 1st level steps (1, 2,3, ...), but the indentation of the substeps (a, b, c, ...) was weird. The substep text was indented correctly, but the a, b, c autonumbers were aligned directly under the 1, 2, 3 step numbers, leaving a big gap between the autonumber and the text.Then I set the FM styles to "Convert Autonumber to Text". That let me control the indentation of both levels of autonumbers, but there was no space between the autonumber and its text. Although I changed the indentation parameters in all sorts of ways, I could not create a gap between the autonumber and its text.Anyone have any idea about what I'm doing wrong or something different I could try?

I have some topics that have bad names. They contain an ampersand which doesn't seem to be a problem unless you're creating chm output in which case the ampersand and following character are missing in the chm's ToC.  I can ask to rename the topic and that does change the name of the htm file.  It does not, however, change the name of what appears in the contents panel or the choices available for building the ToC.  I've had the same problem renaming First_Topic to something meaningful.

We use SharePoint as our source control, and we each have a copy of our projects saved locally on our machine.I recently found out that anytime I create links, it is showing the local file path on my computer instead of creating a truncated link as it normally would. This has been going on since January, and it lead to over 60 broken links and a file that couldn't be published or closed.Before this started, anytime I created a link, It would show a truncated link, as you would expect: <a href = "../../filename.html"</a>However, now when I create a link, it is showing the file path for my locally saved version: <a href= "C:user.name/documents/helpfiles/area/prod/subject/filename.html." </a> The funny thing is, if I open the link in the RH Hyperlink editor, I just have to double click the exact same topic that is already selected in the destination windowand —*poof* — it magically fixes itself.What the heck is going on?

Hi all,After importing my Captivate demo and then inserting it into my topic, it's neither showing in the Preview nor generating in the output (Multiscreen HTML5). All I get is a wire frame box with the captivate logo (in preview) and a broken link image in the output (refer below for screenshots).PREVIEW:OUTPUT:Any guidance on how to fix this would be really appreciated.thanks.

Hi,Why, after 4 or 5 clicks or actions, in a Topic, RH has a 6 to 9 second delay, every time??Imagine clicking 400 times in RH during a day. That’s 100 X 8 sec. I wait over 13 minutes because of that. Add the Font selection wait and other waiting or reformatting. Pierre

I'm working in RoboHelp 2019. I downloaded this help topic from the online help.Was the help generated in RoboHelp? My team really likes the "ON THIS PAGE" area (see Red box), with links to the respective headings.If it is or isn't, how do I get this look?

Hi,When, at the start of an empty line (break);If I press backspace, it won’t delete the previous line. If I press delete, it won’t delete the line I’m on. I have to go at the end of another line and press delete to delete the next line, and this does not always work.I’m just trying to delete an empty line, why is it so difficult? There is no configuration or formatting or a type of character before or after or whatever else that should make it impossible to delete a simple line.Pierre

Hi,New issue with the Drop-Down Text "box".I use the D-D-T for a dictionnary of actions for our technicians. They click the name of the action and its description appears. Very usefull and makes the page seem less dense.I started the dictionnary a few weeks ago. Went back in to finish it. Went at the bottom of the list of actions and typed in the next action. Further in that same Topic, I copied the definition of the action, went back to the action name and selected it. I then clicked the DropDown Text option button (icon). Normally, the "Type your dropdown text here" appears directly under the Header. This time, and for all the others I created today, the insert section appeared under a previously created DDT. At first, I would cancel the insertion, delete the new Header, save the cancellation and try again. Image below.After a few times that it did that, I copied the text in the offered insertion section. Hi,I’m in a Topic that was imported from RH 2017. When I click in a line, the Font size will be shown, the Font type or the text format won’t. We should be able to see all the text information.Pierre

I've recently opened a project in RH 2017 but prior to loading it into RH 2017, my team has been using RH 11 for online help. When I open the .xpj file in RH 2017, some of my TOC pages are not able to be opened. The TOC pages that aren't able to be opened show up with a red x, as shown below.When I attempt to open that specific TOC page, it takes me to the TOC Page Properties window.Additionally, the logos/pictures I've added into those specific pages (the ones I can no longer open in RH 2017) show a s a broken link after compiling. Is there any way that I can make the TOC pages editable without deleting each and re-adding them?

Hi,As someone else already asked, “Why is there between 3 and 6 seconds delay when I click the Font scrolling arrow? You answered that RH had to verify the Font listing or group or available.When the Topic is open for edition, can’t it check the fonts available once and remember it? I’m pretty sure that 99% of RH users use the fonts offered.Pierre

Hi,I tried to click at the beginning of a Drop-down text title. I don’t know why, it selected the letter on the right. Tried to click anywhere else in the document, it selected the letter on the right all the times. I saved my work, closed the Topic and reopened it. I could now click at the start of a line or between two letters.It’s not the first time this happens. Why is this happening?Pierre

Good morning ladies and gents, it's me again, promising another highly annoying question (sorry)...First off, sorry for all the censoring on the images, I simply have to, I have no choice.  TO BUSINESS!So since Willam van Weelden​ and PeterGrainge​, among others (excuse me please if I forget someone) helped me to get custom TOC icons again in my landing page using the Indigo layout after Update 2, my documentation has really taken off.  People are impressed and everybody loves it.  It looks brilliant, and I'm really happy it turned out so well.However, I now have a new idea, and I would like to build on this idea of mine, if you would be so kind as to give it a read.  Our product is to be sold as a suite, comprising of 3 different sections:  A design studio, a customer portal and an online marketplace/app store.  Each one of these three "sections" will end up having it's own documentation, and I would like to connect them somehow.  This is what I have

Hi,I am creating a webhelp output in RoboHelp 2017.When we search for a keyword in the Help file, and the results are generated, the rank column appears with the relative ranks of the result. However, I have noted that if I drag the left panel, there is an alignment issue. The column header, 'Rank' stays stagnant, and the results in the columns below are fluid, and move along with the pane.Is there any way in which we can resolve this issue such that the column title is also aligned with the results?And can we reverse the order of the ranks, if required? Can we make any edits such that the user can see the ranks in a descending order?

We have an icon that is used for all our desktop shortcuts.  I know I can add it in the heading of a master page,  but it's small and I thought it would work embedded as a non-repeating background image for my h1 heading tag.  It looks great while authoring and appears as expected in the responsive HTML output, but the image is just missing in the chm output.  The heading is moved to the right to accommodate the image.  It just doesn't display.  Is this supposed to work?Jim

Hi,In my last discussion, I mentioned that gaps appeared in the text after I pressed the "Update type" button. I also mentioned that, on the right of the gap, part of the word would be underlined with dots. To remove the gaps, you right click the dotted part of the word and select "Ignore".Last friday, I created a new Topic, saved it and closed RoboHelp. This morning, I opened the project and that Topic.As you can see in the image above, ALL THE GAPS ARE BACK... I’ve just corrected the Topic, by doing the action of selecting "Igonre". I noticed that the Save changes asterisk (*) was not present on the Topics tab. I guess that ignoring the gaps is not considered a change.I saved the Topic, close it and RoboHelp to see what would happen…When I reopenned the Topic, the exact same gaps, as the image above, reappeared. Question 1 : Does this mean that I will have to completely REWRITE THIS TOPIC… AGAIN???Question 2 : Does this mean that I will have those Gaps in all my new Topics?Pierre

Hi,For some reason that I cannot grasp, if I click in a line, I will see the Font size (Type will show "p"). If I click another line, even the font size disappears (type will show "Span").Why “Span” for a paragraph and “P” for another paragraph that’s the same as the first?With my cursor still in a "Span" type line, I clicked the Update Style button, thinking that it would change it to "P", or stay the same, or it would open an option window, or something to help me.After I clicked the button, the entire Topic blinked once, the Type remained to "Span", but the entire Topic changed. Now, I have gaps between two words. There are also gaps inside words (ex.: appl ication). The size of the gaps are about two extra spaces.I tried the Undo button. It undid nothing.If I place my cursor on the gap’s right side and press Backspace, the gap will remain, but the letter on its left will be erased.Tried to erase a word that had that gap. Hi,It seems that inside a Drop-down text “box”, top and bottom margins do not work. I position my cursor at the beginning of the paragraph, insert the value (ex.: 6 pt for bottom or top, depending) and the paragraph stays the same. Left margin is possible (ex.: 14 pt).Pierre

Greetings!I need the forum's assistance with something silly which may be just a misconception on my side. Each time I open Robohelp 2019, it always defaults to Release. There's no option or prompt anywhere to switch to Classic. Any suggestions on how I can go straight to Classic each time I open RH?The only way I've been able to pull up Classic is by finding an .xpj file (one that was never converted to Release), and then double clicking on it. My goal is however to find a way to open Classic first, and then to be able to select from the list of recent projects. This way we don't have to ask our editors to go and look for the .xpj files each time. Thank you in advance for your help

RH 2019 Release 6 includes quite a few nice enhancements, one of which is the ability to enable/disable the "Highlight Search Results" checkbox on the Indigo skin/layout. Sadly, this is yet to be added to the rest of the skins/layouts. I have glossary items.  I have specified the glossary in the preset.  The chm gets generated and there isn't a glossary tab at all.  What have I missed?Jim

Hi,Want to report a glitch. When I fomat text, if I need to change the Font color and I use the "Pick color from screen" tool (see Image 1 - Pick color), sometimes, the color selector (see Image 2 - Color selector) will remain in the middle of the screen, it will be visible over everything.
