Greetings. We're using the latest RH 2017 (13.0.2.334). We have a very large merged help Responsive HTML5 Help system with about 20 child helps. The largest child is our main (or Core) help with 2300+ topics. The help system resides on our web server. We're in our final week of putting localized help content together prior to our commercial release in about a week, and we're noticing inconsistencies in the search results. For example, if we type the search phrase "updating the software" (w/o quotes), on my machine, I get 392 results. My colleague searching with the exact same phrase gets 6978 results!Umm.... why?I would think we would get the exact same search results given that we're searching on the exact same phrase on the same merged help system. This is very concerning for obvious reasons.
We have a large Responsive HTML5 help system with multiple child helps that is stored on our web server. We're using the latest RH 2017 (13.0.2.334).Some of our beta users are complaining that they can't just scroll to the section they want. What's happening is that when they first access the Index tab, it loads in about a page of keywords. Then when they start to scroll down, it starts to load in a little more, instead of just loading in all the index keywords at once. How can I make it load in all the data at once so they don't have this delay in scrolling? It takes me ~34 seconds to scroll all the way down to the bottom because of this.
We have recently begun using RoboHelp 2015 with Git and we are seeing some strange behavior when we change local repositories and then open the project in RoboHelp. As we would expect, when we change the active repository in Git we can see the project files in our local project directory change, based upon what the active repository contains. The problem is, though, when we then open the project again, after changing the active repository, RoboHelp is displaying changes from the previous active repository. Here is an example from yesterday:Create a new local repository called "Deleting old topics" and delete a bunch of unused topics.Close RoboHelp.Commit the changes in the local repository. In Git, switch to the local master (or to an existing local repository that hasn't been touched in weeks).Verify in Windows Explorer that the deleted files have returned (expected behavior because those files/topics weren't deleted in this repository).Open the project in RoboHelp. The topics deleted i
Help systems behave just fine in Chrome. In IE 11, nav pane and content pane just display spinners.Followed the solution on this link: https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/kb/robohelp-output-issues-ie-11.htmleven though the replacement js files were older than the ones I have. Didn't work.Tried replacing my custom layout with the same layout from a co-worker's system that isn't experiencing the same issues. That didn't help either. And even weirder, one of my systems that I publish from the same project using the same layout works just fine in IE.And ideas on something to try? I haven't actually uninstalled / reinstalled yet. Would rather not if I don't have to.- Laurin in NC, on a Friday night, without the Scotch that really should be by my side right now.
I'm using RH 2019.0.4. I have a project that needs both HTML5 and printed output. The HTML5 is fine, but the svg files do not show up in the printed documentation. Does anyone have any suggestions? The svg files are a big improvement for the HTML5, which is why I upgraded to RH2019, but I can't use it if those same image files aren't supported in the printed output.
I couldn't find this information anywhere, though I would imagine I'm probably not the first person to encounter this issue... I have some topics where the steps in procedures are presented with numbered lists. I'm using Conditional Build Tags on some of the numbered steps to filter them out when specific filters are applied in the Responsive HTML5 output. When I look at a topic in the preview mode and apply filters, the list numbers automatically renumber to avoid skipping numbers. However, when I generate the output and then apply the filter, the rows disappear as expected, but the numbered lists skip the filtered numbers. For example:This filters as shown in the preview:But in the generated output, the numbering is way off:Is there any way to make this number correctly?
I've seen several approaches on this forum for ways to create a help topic and mask it from specific users, or from everyone except via a link. However, all those approaches seemed to require creating the help topic in a specific way. We have a situation where the topic already exists, and we would like to hide it from all users temporarily. The existing topic is out of date and needs to be revised, but we are unable to revise it until some decisions are made by administrators. In the meantime, we don't want people misled by the old procedures. Is there a simple solution for this? Many thanks in advance.Amelia KetzleBusiness Intelligence & Technical ServicesSIU Foundation
Does anyone have any insight into when Adobe will be upgrading RoboHelp Server 10 to remove the Admin tool's dependence upon Flash? I know Flash end of life is scheduled in 2020. I'm concerned as we publish our help project for all versions on RoboHelp Server and if I need to change direction by 2020 I need to start soon. Thanks!Nita
Hi all, Hope you might be able to advise. My colleague and I use RoboHelp 2015 and have 45 projects, version controlled using SVN. We have a working copy on our local machines and we check in and out to the repository regularly, which is on a server elsewhere in the organisation. We have multiple build tags in all projects, some projects alot larger than others. We noticed a few issues with missing tags over the last few days as we were doing a build for our next release. However, we realised this morning that tags are actually being deleted from multiple projects. We had initially hoped it might have been limited to one project but looks like its more widespread than that. We are currently trying to find out the extent of the problem. Its a very serious one for us as trying to recreate the tags and retag the correct material appropriately would be one hell of a challenge if even fully doable.First off, has anyone experienced this before - tags being deleted randomly from projects? Any
I have two Help file Projects and both are to generate as .CHM with Context-sensitive mapping. For one of the .CHM, the context-sensitive works. For the other, it does not. Both .CHM files are identical with slight changes in terms of the contents and they can be used for the same program because the Map IDs are the same. It is just wording in the topics that differs.I have checked on the .hhp file and I see that the ALIAS and MAP sections are there and the Map ID files (with extension .h) are also there. What else do I need to check?
I used the Related Topics feature in Robohelp 2017. Converting the project to Robohelp 2019 gets rid of those, and there doesn't seem to be a "Related Topics" option. Am I missing something? Is there something in RH2019 that replaces that feature?
Hello all, I was wondering if there are any substantial differenced between the RH 2019 (classic) version and the RH 2019 version. I noticed that when importing projects to the new version, they lose retro compatibility, and updates are the same for both versions...Does the RH 2019 (classic) version have less features than the RH 2019 version?
I have about 800 topics in a RoboHelp HTML help project. I need to send the files out for translations, so I need to get a word count. Is something in RoboHelp that will generate a word count on all files in a project?
Hi guys,I recently updated to RH2017 and started using the Indigo layout. I found some really good ideas around it and pitched them to colleagues. One of the main "pro" points for the change to the new layout was the customizable book/topic icons. Then with the new update (Update 2), I see this was removed, with no way for me to actually change the icons now, which is a big problem for me. It makes the update (and the cost incurred to do it) a lot less "worth it", so to speak, and I was wondering if there would then be a way for me to roll back to Update 1, for example? I can't seem to find any solid information on the roll back, and trying to DL the "older" version seems impossible. Can anyone please assist?
Using RH2019 to generate a PDF.All I get on a test upgrade is "Failed to combine files into PDF".I've tried:Changing the output path.Changing the pdf file name.Removing spaces.Creating a new, small toc.Creating a new output preset. What else should I try? (The help suggests I should get a warning icon next to the preset which opens a log file, but I get no such thing. In fact, mostly I have to kill the project with extreme prejudice to stop it "generating" after I close the error dialog box.)It generates fine in RH11. And the new sample projects generate fine.
Any update from when Adobe 2019 is going to provide users to generate a MS-Word document.
As with new Adobe Update 4, I am able to generate PDF file. However, in Header I am getting characters as  . And in Footer, I am getting page number as 25/223, even though I had never defined page numbers in any Master Page.
We are using RoboHelp 2015 to generate webhelp. Don't know how long this has been a problem, but was just reported after a service pack release of our software. When the user is in the 'full help' screen and either clicks on the 'Search' button on the left or types something into the search field at the top and clicks 'Go', the following message is displayed:That line in whutils.js is just a comment. Any ideas?Phil
Hi,I can't find the way to add and use the Italian Spellcheck. It was there in Robohelp 2017 and now disappear.Anyonw can help?I just have those:thanksMichele

Hello,I modified the Publish property of the Responsive HTML5 output by having it automatically point to my departments test server. when i access it via any browser, it loads like this:it looks like the output within the output. if i use the left-hand side TOC it will eventually fix itself. but if i start using the TOC in the inside, it will continue to navigate to other topics without fixing itself. any thoughts on why this loads this way? and any recommendations on how to fix it?when i View Result, and it loads locally, it doesn't show this issue.thanks for any help.robohelp 2015 (12.0.2.384)
I'm receiving two JavaScript errors in my compiled Help project:1. The value of the property 'registerListener' is null or undefined, not a function object2. Object doesn't support property or method 'trim'Using: RoboHelp 2017, HTML - compiling as WebHelp. Background: Each year I edit the header/footer file and update the year, then recompile and republish the project to our server. I installed a new version of RoboHelp this year, and evidently hadn't worked in the project until I went in to update the year, so I was prompted to upgrade the project (which I did). I'm not sure if the upgrade caused the issues but it seems suspicious. After publishing, the javascript errors started.#1At first, we were receiving the error 'gbAIRSSL' is undefined. A coder reviewed the error and asked me to insert this line (var gbAIRSSL=false;) in the header of whver_nc.js file. It fixed the original issue but created the registerListener issue.#2From our Help menu in the program, we have a few single topic
Could any one list me out all the pre-requisites for generating a PDF file , in Adobe Robohelp 2019.Where is default.htt?I am not able to generate even with files having no images.
After I generate a web help successfully, and transfer the whole output folder into different location. In the new location, which file in Output shall I open so that Web help opens as it displays at the time of generation.
Oggi è mercoledì 9 gennaio 2019 e tentando di avere una comincazione via chat con adobe ottengo questo messaggio:qualcosa non va..potete verificare?salutiMichele
