RoboHelp 2017 (13.0.2.334)Windows 10, 64-bit (version 1709)Our app uses C# with XAML. We want to display the Responsive HTML5 layout in an embedded window inside our application. This will eventually allow us to show our help side by side within our app, pin or collapse the help window to the side, etc.We have created a container window in our app to do this. But we are running into some problems with the WebControl that MS provides.Some problems we're experiencing:- Problem 1) Some topics don't appear at all.- Problem 2) Search doesn't work (already mentioned in this thread and might be a RH issue).- Problem 3) In topics with drop-down contents, our twisty link that appears at the top of those topics don't expand drop downs. (But manually clicking on individual drop downs still works.)Has anyone done anything similar with an embedded window in their app that displays their responsive HTML5 help content?Is there a better WebControl we should use?

How to allocate more RAM for pdf generation?I noticed that only 17 % of  CPU is utilized during PDF generation hence it takes more time to generate a document. I need to generate a single document as a requirement for a product which is large (nearly 350 MB). Is there a way to speed up this PDF Generation?I also noticed a message ïn output view as below which has RAM 2048 M Bytes, I am not sure how this value is set"Printed Document Generator Environment: Word 16.0.10730,  OS 6.2.9200, RAM 2048 M Bytes"

Hi Wise RoboHelp Folks! We are having an issue with help files produced by Robohelp 2017 v13.0.2. We are using a WebHelp output and Robohelp’s loadprojdata.js script contains the following line: window.gProjDataFile = "{{MSM_PROJ_DATA.PROJ_DATA_FILENAME}}";This appears to be a templated value which should be replaced with actual values, but that is never happening. Eventually that makes its way to these lines: var projDataFile = rootRelPath + "/" + gProjDataFile;xmlJsReader.loadFile(projDataFile, callbackProjDataLoaded, projDataCBObj);An attempt is made to access a file with the literal name "{{MSM_PROJ_DATA.PROJ_DATA_FILENAME}}", which fails and produces an error in our website’s log file. Could we delete this file safely without impacting anything?Thank you for any help!

Hi there,I want to add custom JS code that is executed each time the user selects a filter in the filter pane (RH 2015, HTML5 output). Unfortunately, most of the code dealing with the filter pane is minified (common.min.js and rh.min.js).  Has anyone tried this before? Is there a suitable "entry point" to add custom event code for this? (Tried OnPageClick in ehlpdhtm.js, but that doesn't seem to work since the event.target doesn't change after the first click event for the filter pane is fired).

I am developing what we call workflow-based help and, so far, I have 12 workflow topics created.I have created seven browse sequences, and (so far) one help topic is in 2 of the browse sequences.Here are the specifics:"Creating" topic goes to "Opening" topic in the Configure browse sequence."Creating" topic is supposed to go to "3D View" topic in the Select browse sequence.However, in both cases, the "Creating" topic goes to the "Opening" topic.At this time the workflows are not the same, and I would like the browse sequences to be treated as different.Is there any way to  make this happen, or is the logic simply not there to distinguish between two browse sequences?Thank you!Cindy

Hi. Does anyone have experience of using Using Etteplan's STE (Simplified Technical English) checker with RoboHelp please? I would be really interested to know whether you found it very off putting that the STE checker cannot cannot be integrated into the RoboHelp interface. Also, if you could let me know if you have found an efficient workflow that allows you to check your content before publishing from RoboHelp, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Basically the context help works. But if I press F1 and there is no open dialog with a stored topic, the default topic does not appear.  The URL looks like this:... /index.htm?rhcsh=1&rhmapno=131201The same German help works normally. Here is correctly mapped to the default topic. The URL then looks like this:... /index.htm?rhcsh=1#t=General%2FProgramwindow%2Fthemen_hauptfenster.htmWhy is the default theme not displayed when no context theme is available?Thanks for your help.Dieter

Hi Team,We are facing an issue with the opening search box while clicking on the "search" navigation tab from the left side navigation in safari browser(version: 11.0.2 ), well then I had checked with different browsers like Chrom, IE11, Mozilla FireFox it worked properly for all of them.Even it worked properly when I checked with safari browser(version: 5.1.7 ).We have also tried to update the RoboHelp with the available updates and had a look at the generated OUTPUT locally as well and we found the same issue.Here I am attaching the files with the issue and without issue, please have a look: Looking forward to the positive response from your side.

Hi,We use master pages in 2017, that include headers and footers.I've just upgraded one of my projects to 2019, and noticed that the headers and footers have been converted to HTML in the new topics.This means when you apply the master page at compilation, you end up with TWO headers and footers.Oops.So, I came up with this solution, rather than going through every topic and deleting the extra header and footer. If anyone else has a better solution, I'd love to know as at the moment I'm in the experimental stage of using 2019, and have a lot of projects that will need conveting in the (looong) months to come. Some of these have a great many topics.Create a new master page  with nothing in it (delete the autotext)Select all files and apply the empty master page.Open each and every topic to make sure the new master page applies, and removes the header and footer.Save and close.Open 2019 and convert.Delete the “new” master page, and apply the original master page to the output.Cross

Hello, I've created a map file and auto-mapped all of my topics (22) but the whcshdata.js file is missing the mapping code. RH 2015 Version 12 for windows.Reviewed forums and found similar issue whcshdata.js file is empty in CS WebHelp output but my RH settings menu does not have a Content Categories area where I can check off the BSSCDefault.h fileWhat's the solution to this issue?Thank you for your help!

Clicking on the HELP menu on the website - brings up a RoboHelp system of files - and unfortunately, as you know - the menu tree has issues working in Chrome. A previous vendor created the help system in RoboHelp, and no longer supports this customer - luckily, we received 4 large ZIP files, containing the 4 main folder structure created by RoboHelp.  If I load these files locally, I am able to find INDEX.HTML inside of the folder named "!SSL!/WebHelp" and the help system operates normally in both IE and Chrome.Thus I am not sure about the suggestion editing "whthost.js" - not sure that will apply in my case.Without using WebHelp or RoboHelp, just utilizing the HTML output I currently have, do I have any options moving forward?

I created a test project in Responsive HTML 5 I experiment with, and use to store different designs. Now I want to create the real project, and import a screen layout from the test project. Online help just says the following: "To import a screen layout, select Import and specify an SLZ file name."There is no illustration, and no instructions on where to go to locate "Import," which I don't see anywhere. In older versions it used to be under File, but it isn't there in 2017. When I look for .SLZ files in the Robohelp project directory, nothing displays.How do I do this?

In RH responsive html5 output can we gather user information about which help topics are accessed? I.e., generate reports on usage?  And also, can we gather customer feedback such as “Was this topic helpful”?

When I try to generate ah HTML5 layout out of my project, it looks like below.  I'm also getting the error:  "The variables titleColor, backgroundColor, logo, and fontFamily are not available in the usersettings.js file.You must upgrade your responsive HTML5 layout to the latest version to include these variables, so that the layout appears fine in the generated output.Visit http://www.adobe.com/go/learn_rh_upgrade_html5_layout_en page for information about upgrading your layout." even though when I went to the web page and checked the files against the fixes, they appear to be fixed.I need this ASAP, no kidding.   Having no end of problem with this and don't know why.I have another project that works fine, and I don't know what the difference is.

Hello, Does anyone have any experience of moving the 'Back' button in the Indigo layout? The 'out of the box' position for the Back button is actually at the top of the page on its own line (position 1) but I've managed to work out how to change the CSS so that it isn't taking up an entire line by itself.However, it's now displayed first when I would I would prefer it was displayed last (position 2). Does anyone know how to move it to position 2?Thanks,David.

I am using conditional build tags to create US and UK versions of my help. So I will have two outputs, one for each, and we will deliver the relevant one depending on the location of the user. I want our support team to be able to see both versions so they can be sure they are seeing the same help output as the user they are helping. I am already creating a third output for the support team, which includes all sorts of info marked with an 'internal' tag so I thought it would be nice to include dynamic content filters for UK and US so the support team can easily switch between language versions. But if I add these filters, I think they will show up for everyone. I only want them to show for the support team. How can I achieve what I want?Using RH2017 (and new to it).

I lied! I'm back, and hope this is the last time. I prefer lurking.When spot checking after publishing to my 2012 r2 server (I was previously using an old 2003 server), I noticed an oddity.At the top of my topic pages, I always have a link to my application, so they can read, then click and enter. In some cases, I have other links to other websites. I am finding if I click a link which should open in the frame, nothing happens. If I right click and choose open in new window, or set it to launch in a new window there is no issue. Reproducible in chrome, safari, IE and firefox. This is true for any external website as well. Links within the KB referring to another page are fine.Went back to 2003 and confirmed it's fine. Was there some change in 2012 that I can no longer do this?Thanks again...Anahid

I have several KB's I've created and published over the years, and only have this issue with one. Since I'm moving to a new windows server, i'd love to resolve this issue. On the old server, I always had to type wpahelptest.mot-mobility.com/index.htm to get it to open. I still have to do this, and it's annoying. I can partially solve it, but would love to understand what's wrong and how to resolve.The first page is named "welcome"After uploading to the new, I had the same issue. So I added welcome.htm & welcome.html to my IIS default document.Now, if I enter just wpahelptest.mot-mobility.com, the page opens, but the frame & contents are not here - I have to click on "show"

I recently upgraded from having separate RoboHelp and FrameMaker products (2017 version) to the TCS suite (2019 version). I've been able to use FrameMaker 2019 no problem, but when I attempted to import my document from RoboHelp, I can no longer see a FrameMaker import option. The only options available in the Import menu are Word and Captivate. I've looked up the import instructions for importing a FrameMaker document and they are the same for RH 2019 as they have been. Does this mean my RoboHelp install is defective? Below is a screenshot of my File menu with the import options.

Hi,We have a scenario where we have a Windows server on which we have the help hosted on Apache Tomcat web server. This Windows machine is a dedicated help hosting server. Technical publications team can generate the help output manually and copy and paste the output folder to the help hosting server by doing a remote desktop connection. This however is error-prone and not the best way.Can someone throw some light on how the Publishing options FTP and/or HTTP would work?
