Fellow Forum Foragers,I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem or knows of a solution.  When I have the TOC pod open and I right-click on a TOC book or page, Robo shuts down and gives me the standard "send error report to Bill" message.  I am apparently trying to do something that I'm not supposed to do, and i usually do it when I am humming along on other work.  Obviously the big headache hear is the loss of any unsaved work when Robo goes to lunch like this.  Any suggestions?~Dave

Hello,My responsive HTML5 output has none of the following issues when viewed either from my hard drive or from our company's network drive.After our IT person pushed the file to our server on Edge, however, I saw the following issues when viewing the Help site from Edge:Some TOC entries were missing, but their corresponding topics were not: they were linked from and accessible from other topics in the outputFor one of the pieces of content that was present in Help (called, "ERP"), but not represented in the TOC, when I navigate to ERP by clicking a link within another topic, a different TOC entry (to a topic called, "E-verify") is highlighted. When I click the e-verify entry in the TOC, it takes me to the e-verify topic as expected.  Some TOC entries from a previous version of the TOC were displayed (but there were new items in there as well that were not created at the time)Some TOC entries were in the wrong TOC book (they had never been in those books in any iteration of the TO

Hello Everyone!I am new to Robohelp and have had no previous training but know fairly about how to use it. One error which is coming in my way of generating a printed documentation is that when the word file is generated, it is adding some additional blank pages which is not visible in word doc. But, when converting word file to PDF after final styling of the doc, the PDF file shows the blank pages. Have tried to resolve the issue but couldn't get through it! I had created an empty RH 9 project and had prepared it for our secretary in SVN. Instead of checking out the skeleton, she created a new project on her local drive and gave it another name. How can I best import that project into the correctly named one?--Christoph

During the attempt to rename a project (by edititing the hhp file and starting over ) it occured that the new TOC was empty. So I created a new TOC and imported an existing one into it.After that I now have two TOCs for choice. Just wanted to delete the old (empty one) since it's useless to me now. But the DELETE option in the right click menu is geyed out. So is not the DELETEoption for the TOC that was initially there. Strange, Whay can't I delete that one?

Hi - This may be a simple issue to resolve (most likely not I fear) but I just updated to a new hi-res 4k monitor and all the images, text, buttons in the RoboHelp 2015 application and help topics show up very small. CHM outputs also display poorly as does the web output.Are there any suggestions (besides setting the display to a lower resolution) to resolve this display issue? I was told to use scaleable images but we have 1000's of images in our help projects that would make this a daunting task. Is there some setting in RH that I'm not aware of that might help?We are considering upgrading this year to the 2017 Tech Suite - might that be an answer?Any help is greatly appreciated.

This is in a WebHelp output, published using RH 2015. It contains a handful of snippets, some of which contain links that open popups.In the output, when I click one of these snippets' popup links, the popup opens in the lower-left corner of the frame instead of adjacent to the clicked link. This means the popup frequently appears below the visible segment of the topic, as if clicking the link did nothing at all.How do I get snippet popups to appear next to their links, like regular content popups do?Thanks!

Hi All,I've spent a few days looking through the forums, and while some have come close, I need more specifics.  Let me try to describe what's going on:I recently 'inherited' a RoboHelp project a couple of thousand web pages deep that's probably 13 or more years old.  The original author and developer are no longer with the organization.  We recently upgraded to Rh 2015 and the conversion to the updated software (from Rh 11 to 2015) appears to have completed without incident.  (Let me add here that although I've been a Technical Writer for about 25 years, this is my first exposure to RoboHelp.  My 'training' consisted of a three hour crash course provided to me by my predecessor.  Unfortunately, she left a few things out...)I've learned to update content, generate and sequence the TOC, create books, and compile the project.  When I compile and pull it up in my sandbox, everything looks good, whether I'm looking at it in IE, FireFox, or Chrome.The PROB

When I generate Responsive HTML5 output the TOC only shows the book that is associated with the default topic that it opens to. How can I change this so that users can see all books in the TOC. Users could easily get the impression that the book that opens is the only content available. Multiscreen HTML5 output shows all books, while also indicating which topic is open but, Responsive HTML5 (where the UI looks so much better) is not allowing this default TOC to appear with all sections.The second screenshot is what I would like to open to--you can see how a user might not know that SECURITY, DISCOVERY, DATA SOURCE, and PREPARE sections are available in the first screenshot. The user will only get to that (5 book/section) view by clicking on INTRODUCTION TO PODIUM, which they might not intuitively know to do.

Hi,I have generated a .chm file (Microsoft HTML (primary help)). I have mapped the IDs with the specific HTML files accurately. I have placed it in the right path from where the application pulls the helps.Still, it is not working. However, for other helps (don't know who mapped the files, may be the Tech Writer worked before me) it is working fine. Also, I have tried to check whether the map file (.hh) is selected using the SSL output setup. But I could not view i. Please help. If there is any other possible ways to bring up the helps ], please let me know. Thanks!Regards,Subathra

Adobe RoboHelp 11 WebHelp output is not opening on system with Surface Pro. Is there any solution?

I just upgraded from RoboHelp 10 to 2017 (yes, a bit of a leap). While still using RH 10, I was asked to change all popup links in one of our projects to regular <a href> links that display in a window. Easy enough, searched and replaced, it was done.Now I've upgraded to RH 2017 and need to perform the same search and replace in another project. However, now the same operation inserts an id attribute with a unique number on each link, which appears to make a global search and replace impossible, at least within RH. I think it's inserting extra quotation marks, also, which isn't helping matters.Why can't I do a straight search and replace on the code without any HTML policing or whatever is going on? Or am I missing something?

I am planning help for a new product that will be used on desktops, tablets and phones. It will probably be in responsive HTML5.Can RoboHelp be used to create help that appears in an overlay (if that is the right term) over the app screens?  Here is an example:I am using RoboHelp 2015.If RoboHelp can't do it, is there another tool that could?Thank you.Juliette Curtis

Was hoping someone could help me resolve this issue. I get this error when I try to add to version control.I get this error after I Add to Version Control and select Team Foundation Server MSSCCI Provider. I recently had to update my work computer and now all the previously linked word files (that were linked to word files in a sharepoint server) are now broken.  I have only been able to fix them one at a time.  I think the issue was that I had to re-map the drive on my PC and this broke the links.  Does anyone know if there is a way to repair/find these links in a more expeditious way than right clicking each individual one in the Project Manager pane?  This seems to be a very tedious process especially when I have 100+ to do.   Thanks!

Hi there,We are having an issue with RoboHelp 10 and SVN (Subversion 1.7.5). Say, for example, I add three new topics to an online help project, close the project and commit the changes. My colleague performs an SVN update - she can see that the new files are brought down from the server. The new files are then visible in the physical RoboHelp project folder - so SVN has done its job. However, when she opens the online help project on her machine, the three new files are appearing with the red 'X' in the table of contents - suggesting RoboHelp cannot find the files (as per the image below). The files are also not displayed in the project manager pod. However, if we perform a manual import in the project manager, the files are added to the project manager and no longer displayed with the red 'X' in the table of contents.This has only happened since we upgraded to RH 10 from RH 9. Could it be that there is some setting that we need to configure?

HiWe are generating Responsive and Webhelp outputs from RH11.We have created a browse sequence to navigate between lessons (book) and between topics. The client expects these buttons to jump from the lesson to the first topic of that lesson and when they on last topic, it should take them to next lesson.For example, when the learner clicks Next button on Lesson 2 book, he should be taken to Topic 1 of Lesson 2. When he clicks Next button on the last topic of Lesson 2, he should be taken to Lesson 3 book. Same with Back buttons.We are generating browse sequence using levels in ToC. Is there a way to get the type of sequencing my client is expecting?SreekanthP.S.: Though we are facing this issue with a FM-based RH project, I believe this is a generic issue. I have had this problem a few times before and I need to get to the bottom of it.  I just aliased about 12 tabs in a dialog box and most of them worked. Hi all,I've been experimenting with CSH calls, and everything is working as expected thanks to Mr. Van Weelden's excellent web page. I'm not entirely happy with the way breadcrumbs appear on a mobile phone. Is there a way to hide breadcrumbs for this output? I'm using RoboHelp 2015, so I achieved breadcrumbs by adding a placeholder to the Master Page as directed in these forums.Thanks! Joe C.

Greetings!I'm a using FM2017 and RH2017. I've search through the help and the forums, but I haven't found the answers I'm looking for. If there's a thread I've missed or a page I've skipped, please let me know.I have a Book file with chapters in Frame that I'm converting to WebHelp. Everything is converting over nicely, except the hypertext links to external website (like the company website or the FTP site that contains the media required to complete the exercises). The text appears in the traditional blue link color, but there's no link there to click.In Frame, I would highlight the text, insert a Hypertext marker (message URL http://www.vyv.ca). When I save this as PDF, the hypertext is live and works great. When I convert it to WebHelp, the text appears in blue, but there is no link.What am I doing wrong? What am I missing?

I and a coworker both have copies of RH 2015.  An Adobe Support rep recently asked me to install the latest updates to fix an issue I reported.  I am now on version 12.0.4.460.  My co-worker is on 12.0.0.306.  When he clicks File > Help > Updates..., nothing happens.  I saw a "General Discussions" post, suggesting users check to see if an older update program might still exist (RH 7.0.1) and delete it using Add/Remove Programs.  No such programs exist.  Has anyone else had issues with the installer not updating?  If yes, do you know how to resolve this issue?  Thanks.  Tim

Hello all,I'm using RoboHelp 2015 (12.0.4.460) on Windows 10 x64 OS.In my projects, I use multiple CBTs.For example, here's the CBTs in one of my projects (our "Core" project).Somehow, the CBT colors have stopped showing their colors inside RH's Design view across multiple projects.For example:But the CBT references are in place:My .xpj file contains the references to both rhbuildtag.apj and rhcolor.apj:Both .apj files exist in the projects:The CBTs actually function when I build. It's just the colors don't appear inside of RH anymore.Any idea on what's going on and how to fix it?Many thanks in advance.

We use Robohelp 7 in my office.  I'm pushing for an upgrade to Robohelp 2017.  What can I say about the difference in features that might persuade management to go for it?
