RoboHelp

I am planning help for a new product that will be used on desktops, tablets and phones. It will probably be in responsive HTML5.Can RoboHelp be used to create help that appears in an overlay (if that is the right term) over the app screens?  Here is an example:I am using RoboHelp 2015.If RoboHelp can't do it, is there another tool that could?Thank you.Juliette Curtis

Was hoping someone could help me resolve this issue. I get this error when I try to add to version control.I get this error after I Add to Version Control and select Team Foundation Server MSSCCI Provider. I just recently noticed this after upgrading from RH 10 a few months ago.Here is my Robohelp version.Thank you!

I recently had to update my work computer and now all the previously linked word files (that were linked to word files in a sharepoint server) are now broken.  I have only been able to fix them one at a time.  I think the issue was that I had to re-map the drive on my PC and this broke the links.  Does anyone know if there is a way to repair/find these links in a more expeditious way than right clicking each individual one in the Project Manager pane?  This seems to be a very tedious process especially when I have 100+ to do.   Thanks!

Hi there,We are having an issue with RoboHelp 10 and SVN (Subversion 1.7.5). Say, for example, I add three new topics to an online help project, close the project and commit the changes. My colleague performs an SVN update - she can see that the new files are brought down from the server. The new files are then visible in the physical RoboHelp project folder - so SVN has done its job. However, when she opens the online help project on her machine, the three new files are appearing with the red 'X' in the table of contents - suggesting RoboHelp cannot find the files (as per the image below). The files are also not displayed in the project manager pod. However, if we perform a manual import in the project manager, the files are added to the project manager and no longer displayed with the red 'X' in the table of contents.This has only happened since we upgraded to RH 10 from RH 9. Could it be that there is some setting that we need to configure?

HiWe are generating Responsive and Webhelp outputs from RH11.We have created a browse sequence to navigate between lessons (book) and between topics. The client expects these buttons to jump from the lesson to the first topic of that lesson and when they on last topic, it should take them to next lesson.For example, when the learner clicks Next button on Lesson 2 book, he should be taken to Topic 1 of Lesson 2. When he clicks Next button on the last topic of Lesson 2, he should be taken to Lesson 3 book. Same with Back buttons.We are generating browse sequence using levels in ToC. Is there a way to get the type of sequencing my client is expecting?SreekanthP.S.: Though we are facing this issue with a FM-based RH project, I believe this is a generic issue. I have had this problem a few times before and I need to get to the bottom of it.  I just aliased about 12 tabs in a dialog box and most of them worked. Hi all,I've been experimenting with CSH calls, and everything is working as expected thanks to Mr. Van Weelden's excellent web page. I'm not entirely happy with the way breadcrumbs appear on a mobile phone. Is there a way to hide breadcrumbs for this output? I'm using RoboHelp 2015, so I achieved breadcrumbs by adding a placeholder to the Master Page as directed in these forums.Thanks! Joe C.

Greetings!I'm a using FM2017 and RH2017. I've search through the help and the forums, but I haven't found the answers I'm looking for. If there's a thread I've missed or a page I've skipped, please let me know.I have a Book file with chapters in Frame that I'm converting to WebHelp. Everything is converting over nicely, except the hypertext links to external website (like the company website or the FTP site that contains the media required to complete the exercises). The text appears in the traditional blue link color, but there's no link there to click.In Frame, I would highlight the text, insert a Hypertext marker (message URL http://www.vyv.ca). When I save this as PDF, the hypertext is live and works great. When I convert it to WebHelp, the text appears in blue, but there is no link.What am I doing wrong? What am I missing?

I and a coworker both have copies of RH 2015.  An Adobe Support rep recently asked me to install the latest updates to fix an issue I reported.  I am now on version 12.0.4.460.  My co-worker is on 12.0.0.306.  When he clicks File > Help > Updates..., nothing happens.  I saw a "General Discussions" post, suggesting users check to see if an older update program might still exist (RH 7.0.1) and delete it using Add/Remove Programs.  No such programs exist.  Has anyone else had issues with the installer not updating?  If yes, do you know how to resolve this issue?  Thanks.  Tim

Hello all,I'm using RoboHelp 2015 (12.0.4.460) on Windows 10 x64 OS.In my projects, I use multiple CBTs.For example, here's the CBTs in one of my projects (our "Core" project).Somehow, the CBT colors have stopped showing their colors inside RH's Design view across multiple projects.For example:But the CBT references are in place:My .xpj file contains the references to both rhbuildtag.apj and rhcolor.apj:Both .apj files exist in the projects:The CBTs actually function when I build. It's just the colors don't appear inside of RH anymore.Any idea on what's going on and how to fix it?Many thanks in advance.

We use Robohelp 7 in my office.  I'm pushing for an upgrade to Robohelp 2017.  What can I say about the difference in features that might persuade management to go for it?

We just upgraded to RH 2017 from RH10 and when I try to open an existing source controlled project, I'm prompted to upgrade the project. When I select to proceed with the upgrade, I get an error message: "Cannot checkout all the files that needed to upgrade this project." I double checked source control and all of the files are checked in. I'm stuck! HELP!

I have help defined for a number of applications.  I generate different outputs from on-line help to more traditional documentation and it works well.  I want to be able to link my application help files to support my call center.  Has anyone ever done this?  I have applied conditional build tags to all of my files but if I link my help files can I use the dynamic content filters in Robohelp 2015 to assist them in filtering on application and have it filter on the search as well?

Hi everyone,I need to output to both HTML5 and to PDF.I have two questions:1)     In the top menu (pictured below), what is the difference between "Printed Document" and "PDF Output"?2)     It seems that the TOC in the PDF output is built not from (not mirroring) the TOC in the HTML5 output, but rather, it's built from the files and their names in the Project Manager pod, and in the order in which they appear in that pod. I've been continuing my war with linking Word docs into my RoboHelp project. This has me baffled.First, I ran a Word macro that puts the name of the style assigned to the paragraph in brackets. <[AHCISListNumberLevel01]> means Word style AHCISListNumberLevel01 is assigned to the paragraph, and <[AHCISListNumberLevel02]> means Word style AHCISListNumberLevel02 is assigned to the paragraph. What I can't wrap my head around is when I look at my HTML5 output, step 1 shows the <[AHCISListNumberLevel02]> style as left-aligned with the number 1 (which is wrong) but under step 3, <[AHCISListNumberLevel02]> is indented (which is correct). I'm using Robohelp 2017 on Windows.When I use the Replace option, with "current project" selected, it works fine as long as I don't interrupt the process. For example, if I click Find, then Replace, then Find then Replace, several times, it works fine. But if I interrupt the process at all, for example, to go and manually change something I've noticed in one of the files, the Find starts again at the beginning. Is there any way to stop it doing this?Thanks in advanceLaura

Why can I not see my images folder (IMAGES_ web) when viewing the folders in the Project Manager tab?Might it be because I probably created the IMAGES_web folder when I was in Windows Explorer?Is there a way to make the IMAGES_web folder viewable in the "PRoject Manager" tab in the RoboHelp project?(I'm using RoboHelp 2015. This is a project that I opened from RoboHelp 8 and have been adding, updating and deleting the contents of project -- htm files, image files, etc. in this recent version -- 2015 -- of RoboHelp)Thank you!

Greetings!I'm starting to get a handle on the HTML5 layouts, but there's something that irks me. When the window is opened full-screen, the text gets splayed out across the entire width and it looks really fugly. I would prefer that the text be restricted to a certain width and appear in the middle of the Body page. For an example of what I mean, take a look at this: Particle Guides | Connecting over USB or see below:Is this a Master Page issue, or do I need to define the left/right margins for all the paragraph tags in play (presumably in RHStyleMapping.css)? Is there a way to define a page size within the Body frame that restricts the text layout so that it doesn't go rampaging across the width of a maximized window?

Before I adopted Robohelp (at times of RH X 5 office or even earlier?), I had a look at DocToHelp and at that time we decided for RH.Anyway, is there a mechanism to convert a given Word document, that has a table of contents (in free form) and subsequent numbered pages, into a RH project structure and derive topic pages from it easily?--Christoph

I explain the problem:- 4 years ago I created a manual with FrameMaker (may be FM10, I don't remember) and created on-line help with RoboHelp.- 2 weeks ago, I needed to upgrade the manual and have added some parts with FrameMaker2015. Similarly, I imported this manual to RoboHelp2015 as a new project (I have changed my computer). The results was very strange: The new chapter located at the beginning of the manual was very fine and some old parts was fine too up to a specific line highlighted in green in the RoboHelp project. The figure1 shows the frontier: above the text and figures are not highlighted in green color and the text/figures are perfect: see figure2. All the manual below this frontier has some problems with images: they are shifted to the right, see figure 3. If this has been dealt with already, please provide a link.I'm working with a Framemaker book and I'm generating the online help in the Responsive HTML5 layout. I'm having a couple of issues with the output, but one of them is that the bottom part of the topic gets cut-off in the browser window (Chrome).I have dragged the scroll bar down as far as I can, but the bottom of the scroll bar is also cut-off. The only way I can see the bottom of the window is to go full-screen, which is super annoying.What do I need to modify so that the entire topic can be viewed (using the scroll bar) if the online help is not full-screen?--JD HickeyDocumentia Inc.www.documentia.ca

I am using RoboHelp 2015. RoboHelp stopped working while I was in the middle of a project. When I reopened the project, several folders went missing from my Project Files list. Is there a way to bring them back without recreating the folders and reimporting the content?
