Hello,Is it possible to rename or duplicate a CSH map file in RoboHelp 11 HTML? I have been working on a project which uses a CSH map file called "WebHelp_CSH_10_17_2015.h" - it includes the date in the map file name. I want to change or remove this date from the map file name. Can this be done in the RoboHelp UI? (If so, I can't figure out how to do it).FYI, I tried going directly to the project files in Windows Explorer, copy/pasting the map file and renaming it there to get rid of the date. Then I imported the renamed map file into my project in the RoboHelp UI, but when I opened its Edit Map IDs modal, I found that none of the map IDs were copied along with the file and it seemed that they would have to be recreated (my project has over 520 IDs that would have to be recreated). It seems like a CSH map file name cannot be changed after the map file is created and that the map file cannot be duplicated - that any changes at that level required a brand new map file to be created and al
Hi RoboHelp Community! My name is Scottie and our team is working with RoboHelp 15 generating Responsive HTML5 help. Our software's installer picks up our compiled help files nightly and we test our files using different web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, and IE). We noticed help updates were not always showing up until we reloaded or refreshed the the browser page.We cannot force users to manually refresh/reload and our developer recommended adding the following to the html:<meta http-equiv="cache-control" content="max-age=0" /><meta http-equiv="cache-control" content="no-cache" /><meta http-equiv="expires" content="0" /><meta http-equiv="expires" content="Tue, 01 Jan 1980 1:00:00 GMT" />This works, but I'm not sure if:A. Do or can we create a master page with this code and then apply it to each page in our projects?B. Anyone else has had a similar issue? If so, how did you resolve it?!Thanks for any time and help!Scottie Gearing
We're running RoboHelp v10, but would upgrade if needed in order to integrate with SF...
Hi, all.I'm working in Windows 7, RH 11. I've generated Web Help, and while the Table of Contents appears in IE 11, it does not appear in Firefox.Has anyone run into this? Any suggestions for fixing it?I thought Web Help was going to solve problems like this ...--Nancy
How do I delete defunct "Shared Locations" from the Insert>Image>Resource Manager>Select Image File dialog? Also, I know that shared locations become invalid whenever the project or image directory gets relocated, but I swear I've seen it "just happen" for no apparent reason, no reason apparent to me anyway.
I'm using RH2015 and can't figure out why a recently created project won't display the ToC when it is opened on our website. It opens just fine in my browser (IE11).Thanx!Lon
I am trying to upgrade a project that a former co-worker "owned". We use Visual Studio 2010 TFS Source Control for version control. Currently I've run into an error with upgrading because there are files locked by the other person. Okay, I get that and I've got someone on it. There are also several files with a status of "edit" by the other person, but not locked. Will RoboHelp 2015 upgrade the project with this status? I'm just wondering if I need to have all of those files fixed as well. (Most likely "Undo pending changes" because I don't think her files are available, which I guess doesn't really matter much because her updates then have been missing since last year and no one has complained. )Aaaargh... and I really only need to add 3-5 words to one topic. Thanks!Kimberly
Hello,I used RH 11 to generate CHM for different applications.I create pop-up by hyperlink to a topic using the 2nd hyperlink Option (in french : Afficher dans la fenêtre contextuelle à redimensionnement auto).Until now, I never had any problem with the pop-up display, but today somebody tests an application with the CHM on a Windows 10-64b and when clicking on an hyperlink that display a pop-up, the pop-up appears blank with nothing on It!From an application installed on Windows 10-32b : no problem! If the CHM is open directly from Windows (10-64b) Explorer : no problem!I have no Windows 10 on my computer, I'm running through Windows 7 enterprise Service Pack 1.If any people could help me...Have a nice day.CG
Hello Experts,Background:I am new on RH and currently using RH10.The project that I just took over is an Online Help (OH Production) which was originally created in RH10 (so no upgrade) and it already had a release and it used WebHelp layout. The Online Help uses auto-sizing popup. The release works fine on my IE11, which auto-sizing popup window appears perfectly next to/below to the linked (hyperlinked word) word on IE11 and Chrome.I currently use the same project as the base by making copy of the project and renaming it to different name, a working project Online Help In Work (OH In Work).I don't have any changes on this OH In Work project, just try to generate WebHelp output to my local computer drive to test preview .I have to use "Display auto-sizing popup" to open a small window (frame) next to the linked word, not a new browser/link page. Both "Display auto-sizing popup" or "Display custom-size popup" have given the same result, which is the problem I need to get fi
I work on some RH projects with two other tech writers. My PC's hard drive failed. I suspect I may have had some RH topics checked out at that time in RH 10.My replacement PC came with RH 2015, but did not have RH 10. I copied my local RH folder copies from a backup of the old PC to the new PC. I upgraded some of our projects from RH 10 to RH 2015 successfully. On other projects, when I tried to upgrade from RH 10 to RH 2015, I got the message, "Cannot checkout all the files that needed to upgrade this project." (and, yes, that is the exact wording of the message). Our project admin determined that I had the files checked out (probably on the PC that had failed) that were preventing the project from being upgraded. He removed the locks from those files in source control. I tried to upgrade the project again, and I got the same message. I took a new copy from source control, tried again, same message. I changed the read-only property
I see that the AND and OR boolean operation works well. When should you select Display results with all search words? What other features can you use to search topics?
Hello,I have a project (in RH 11), where the final "master" chm has several merged chm files in it. Now the merged chm files have been updated. So I delete the old chm files from the project, and add the updated versions to the master project. All seems good so far. However, when I search for something in the updated chm, I see, in the search results, both the old and the revised topics of the merged chm files. Clicking on the old topics actually shows me the old topic content, and clicking on the new topic, shows me the updated topic content. How do I get rid of the old versions, so only the revised topics from the merged chm files are shown in search results. Thanks
I am working on a help project using RoboHelp 10. This is an old project (pre-CSS) that supports a legacy product. It uses a lot of inline styles. It is really massive (900 Mb). Therefore, a recoding effort is not worth it for the last coulple of years that this product will be around. (I am updating it for use in a Service Pack.) The context-sensitive topics that are linked to the application include a Related Topics button. When I insert inline styles to correct the inconsistent formatting in some text links (hyperlinks) and then recompile the project, RH inserts several extra <font> </font> tag pairs. This has the effect of enlarging the font size of some of the link text. Why is this happening? Does it have something to do with button code? Thanks for any insights.Steve BairdIngersoll Rand
Robohelp 2015, using source controlI can not create a custom skin or import a skin. I also can not even choose a skin from Robohelp's gallery. It appears to work but I can never get a new skin to appear in my Robohelp project. This has worked before 2015. Any suggestions?

I've created a project and the output is WebHelp. Can I display the TOC in an expanded format automatically?
Hello, In order to ensure that we are complying with the Global Data Privacy regulation, we need to know if the WebHelp projects we have customers access are saving any cookies to their PC. If so, we need to determine the domain name, type of cookies, source, purpose, expiry and information on how to block them. Can anyone provide info on if/when/how WebHelp saved cookies to a customer's PC and how I may find the above information about them if so?Thanks so much...Julie
Hi,In RH 2015 is it possible to isolate the files that are published (i.e. files that have changed since last build)? What I'm trying to do is distribute just these files. We are in the situation where we distribute our application that is locally installed on our clients machines. We do this by sending a zip file for each build that overwrites changed files. Help falls in to one of these files, but sending a new CHM each time that is going to grow seems a but inefficient. What I'd like to do is distribute the help as html that is stored locally. But rather than resend the entire build, I only want to send the files (and folder structure) that has changed from the previous. Is there any way to get these files without manually trawling my own publish location? Thanks,Nick
Thank you!
I upgraded to RoboHelp 2015 from RoboHelp 10 and I am experiencing sluggishness while editing text, opening topics, and everything else. It is very frustrating to the point of being unusable. This is in the same project I was working on in RoboHelp 10. Other applications, such as Captivate, are working fine. Here are my system specs:Operating System Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1CPU Intel Core i5 660 @ 3.33GHz Clarkdale 32nm TechnologyRAM 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 664MHz (9-9-9-24)Motherboard Dell Inc. 0D441T (CPU)Graphics DELL U2410 (1920x1200@59Hz) DELL U2410 (1920x1200@59Hz) 1024MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 330 (Dell) Storage 232GB Western Digital WDC WD2500AAJS-75M0A0 (SATA) Optical Drives TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-H653GAudio Realtek High Definition Audio
When I generate webhelp, I get no errors but when I view the output, the navigation pane is empty.I'm using RoboHelp 10 and the problem occurs on IE 11 and Firefox 44.0.2. It doesn't open at all in Chrome but we don't support that anyway. What should I be checking? Thanks
Robohelp recognizes and displays .png files; however, in RoboHelp 2015 > Tools > Graphics Locator, .png is deemed "Not a valid graphics file." You can search for .png in the Search For field above - and it will locate all the files - but it will not display a preview of the file in the Graphic Preview box. Can anyone comment as to why?
Hi All,I generated my WebHelp to be 508 Compliant, but unfortunately it's including the names of images and bookmarks (see below). Is there a way to set the options for the WebHelp so that those things are excluded from the output?I was also wondering how RH comes up with the numbers displayed in 508 Compliant WebHelp. I thought it could be the number of times the character/word is included in the help, but that proved to be false after searching my document. I also thought it could be the number of pages that the character/figure appears on in the WebHelp, but that also wasn't true. Does anyone have an answer on this? Thanks!
