Does Adobe CC have at solution for making HTML5 interactive online magazines? (not a FLASH solution from indesign)
Short version: Breadcrumbs in CHM files do not display the styles I've configured in RH.Long version:Am running RH11.Working in an HTML project, generating a CHM for output.I have a Master Page for the project, in which I have generated a breadcrumb placeholder. I removed the formatting code from the placeholder, so what I have left looks like this:<?rh-placeholder type="breadcrumbs" ph-align="0" sep-char="&gt;" home="Home" usetopicformat="0" ph-style="" ?>This Master Page refers to the default CSS file: <link rel="StyleSheet" href="default.css" type="text/css" />Each topic uses this Master Page.Via the Project Manager, I double-click the default.css file in order to modify the appearance of the breadcrumbs. I make changes via these settings:Upon saving this, RH places the following code into the default.css file. *Note (below) that it fails to specify the font I've selected - odd.a.breadcrumbs:link { font-size: 8pt; color: #808080;}a.breadcrumbs:visited {&n
Hi there,I am trying to insert a snippet (I have tried adding new ones and using existing ones) into a topic. The snippet displays in the editing pane and also in the pdf for review output and in the preview topic pane. However when I open the html file directly from windows explorer, the snippet doesn't display. One of my outputs uses these html files and I am keen to make the most of the snippet functionality.Any Tips? Thanks,Caroline
I am using RoboHelp 11.0.4.291 to generate Responsive HTML5 help for web applications. The web designers in my company have reported the following security vulnerabilities. Is there a fix?1/ Cross Site Scripting Vulnerability via DOM Redirection========================================================= File: loadcsh.jsFunction: redirectToTopicLine Number: 117 (target.contentWindow.location.replace(gTopicURL);)The mechanism RoboHelp is using to display the (context sensitive) help file is not secure because the passed in URL is not being sanitised, therefore it's trivial for an attacker to trick the user into executing code by clicking on a link e.g.http://PATH_TO_ROBOHELP_DEFAULT_FILE.htm#t=javascript:alert(0)The above URL will cause a pop-up in Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox and Opera (Safari is untested). This is a definite issue that needs fixing by Adobe as illustrated by the following URL which prompts the user for their credentials and sends the details to the attacker: http://
hello i removed all comma Punctuation from packxml.js for example :<wd nm=\"مخفية،\" rd=\"471,0:23351:0|1084,0:27251:0\"/>using find and replace tools converted to :<wd nm=\"مخفية\" rd=\"471,0:23351:0|1084,0:27251:0\"/>but now i have two string contain the text "مخفية" in different locations like so :<wd nm=\"مخفية\" rd=\"471,0:23351:0|1084,0:27251:0\"/>and<wd nm=\"مخفية\" rd=\"1243,0:5338:0|1244,0:31737:0\"/>the search script chooses only one of them i can modify it manually to merge two tags in one like this:<wd nm=\"مخفية\" rd=\"1243,0:5338:0|1244,0:31737:0|1243,0:5338:0|1244,0:31737:0\"/>but i have too Manny string cant modify it manually so how can i detect the same string in in different tags <wd nm> ??
In RH 2015, how can I add custom ActiveX DLL's to the list of available ActiveX controls so that the custom DLL or OCX is listed on Insert ... HTML ... JavaScript ... ActiveX Controls dialog? Where does RH get this list?
Hello, This is the same question asked here for Theme_1 Standard: the answer was For that layout:Desktop: div.wTOCTreeMobil: div.wTOCNodefrom William van WeeldenI don't see the same properties in either of these places:Does anyone know what the right properties to change to make the TOC font smaller for the Charcoal_Grey Layout? I'm afraid that if I start to mess around with it I will do something irreparable. On that note, if I want to copy the entire project so that I do have a test environment, is there a SAVE AS type functionality, I only see RENAME (apologies for the two-fer-one question). Thanks,Anne
What's unfortunate is that I'm not a seasoned veteran at RoboHelp so there's likely much that I don't know, which may or may not be common to RH users. I'm in a hard spot though as I've encountered a known issue regarding a corrupt .cpd file issue when trying to boot up the project: "Your project file is corrupt and cannot be opened. Try deleting this file and reopening the project". ..I tried deleting the .cpd file and reopening the project, but then it displays "An error occurred while trying to read data from (P:/... [the network drive the project files are located on]... and mentions a specific 'report_information.fpj' file] " Then it says an occurred trying to read data from a 'rhfontset.apj' file (this is all occurs in a row when trying to load the project after deleting the .cpd file).... It seems that this is a common resolution (or at least a commonly advised one) so I'm simply reaching out to the experts to see what my options are for someone that is not an expert in the soft
I created a Responsive HTML output with an RH 2015 trial. Output lives on a webserver. When testing in Safari on iPad, there are delays of a few seconds up to 20 seconds with respect to entering search terms in the search field of the help. Lag time between when I tap out the search term letters to when the letters I typed show up in the keyboard and search fields. There is less of a dealy when I use Chrome on iPad.Has anyone else experienced this? I had a colleague of mine try it on her iPad and she sees same delay.
Why do i receive a script error when i use CSH test tool in Robohelp HTML?
Hi,The TOC books of the Published Web help does not open in any of the browsers(Firefox, Google Chrome and IE9). It even does not work on local machine. I'm working on RH11. I've never faced this problem in RH8. Please suggest a solution.ThanksPriya
Hi there,I need help with my Robohelp Webhelp. Our Software, for which I am writing an online help with Robohelp, consists of different modules that contain a variety of sumbodules, e.g. Module A contains the submodules 1 and 2. I have created a topic that is supposed to give an overview of the entire module A. In that topic I have put Drop-Down-Hotspots for each submodule explaining the purpose of the submodule in short. In each Drop-Down-Hotspot I inserted a bookmark. My intention: If the user opens submodule 1 in the software and presses F1 he should be forwarded to the overview page and there to the related bookmark while opening the Drop-Down-Hotspot. Therefore I downloaded this “link to drop down” script. When I generate the webhelp everything seems okay. I go to Submodule 1 and press F1 and I am getting forwarded to the bookmarked Drop-Down.Now, I want to get information on submodule 2 (which I configured the same way as submodule 1). So, in the navigation pane, I cl
Hello,We are making our help in hebrew. I made a test by translating a topic in Hebrew and compiled the chm file.I tried this chm on a hebrew Windows 8 and it is not displayed from right to left. How can I do?
I am using Robohelp 11 and have published a project to the webhelp layout. When I access the published file in Chrome and increase the width of the navigation pane, selecting the Hide Navigation Component button does not fully close the pane. any thoughts on how to fix?Gene
The Style, Font and Font Size dropdowns in the upper left of the RH11 window (above the project manager panel) begin blinking back and forth, in time with the cursor, as soon as more than one Design/HTML tab is opened. Attempting to drop one of those menus to change the selection results in the scroller constantly jumping back to the currently selected option if I try to scroll and usually ends up causing RH to crash.I am on Windows 7 64bit.The project I'm currently experiencing this problem in was originally created in RH9. I converted it to RH11. When I first converted and opened this project yesterday, I did not experience this problem, this just started happening when I opened it this morning. I did not notice any Windows updates in that time.
I have RH10 (recently upgraded from RH9) and WebHelp projects are having issues displaying the Search box within the Search tab on Chrome as well as IE with Chrome Frame installed. Instead of getting a search box, I get what almost looks like an index of numbers with associated hyperlinks. The search box appears and behaves fine on other browsers such as Firefox, Safari and IE without Chrome Frame. I assume this is JavaScript related since all of my tests point in this direction, but no idea how to get it to behave. Attached is a screen shot of how it appears...Any suggestions?!?
The ToC lists topics by page numbers, but the topics themselves do not have page numbers, so the ToC page numbers are fairly pointless, aren't they?Thanx!'Lon
This post is two fold.1) A question to see if these bugs have been fixed in later versions.2) And if not, a call to action for the RH staff to fix these bugs.(Note. I use RH 9 on Windows 7 x64. Maybe these have been fixed, but I doubt it. I seem to remember from my tests of the most recent trial that these still happen. Maybe someone can test for me since my trial is no longer active.)Background:We have several help outputs as compiled html helps (chm). One is our "Core" help. This Core help is a master help and holds references to several other chms as a merged help system. To build the Core chm and the non-Core chms, I use batch files (.bat) that use the RoboHelp Command Line (RHCL) to build the different outputs once a day. (I like to use batch files over the RoboHelp batch build option, because I can continue to use the same RH project while it builds the help.).Here's my rhcl code in my batch file:echo ...building the core help...rhcl.exe "d:\hg\pcdmisqa\pcdlrn\help\coreh
RoboHelp 11 (11.0.4.291) / Windows 7 / 64 Bit /RoboHelp Server 9 / WebHelp ProHi,Recently I performed a Find/Replace function in all topics replacing the phrase 'multi-contractor contract' (--silly, I know--) with 'master contract'.It seems now if I search for master contract, zero results are found. However, if I search for 'multi-contractor', the phrase that was replaced, then it actually finds all the appropriate 'master contract' topics. I have attempted the following:Manually located all instances of the word 'master' and re-typed it - somehow thinking this would really force the system to recognize the word.Performed another find/replace function to replace 'master' with 'master' - again thinking that it would somehow override the system to recognize the word 'master'.Generated a new WebHelp Pro layout.Created new master page for all topics.Published with Replace All option set.One more thing, when I view locally, the search for 'master' works - it only breaks when I
I am using RH9 and Firefox 41.0.2.The webhelp project is integrated in our software and when I request a CSH item, the page is blank. It is working in IE9 and Chrome and was also working in a previous version of FF.Apart from downgrading FF, is there another solution? Will the fix for RH 2015 work here?Got a message from William that the fix for RH 2015 does not work. Hopefully there are other solutions!
We are sharing a RoboHelp 11 project between two authors, and have noticed that the conditional build tags that are set by one author are not seen by the second author who is accessing the project via version control. I think the file containing details of the conditional build tags has not been added to version control, and as a result the second author cannot see these details. Does anyone know what this file is called, so I can add it to version control? Thanks very much.
I am trying to create a topic that links to a webpage in Robohelp 2015 using the responsive HTML5 output; however, whenever I view the output and select the topic, I get the error listed below the TOC Page Properties screenshot. The link works if I paste it into a browser, though. Can anyone help me understand what I'm doing wrong? I often do this in Robohelp 10. Additional info: I want this webpage to be displayed without opening in a separate window. Thanks in advance for your help! Where I'm pasting the web addressERRORThe page cannot be foundThe page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please try the following:Make sure that the Web site address displayed in the address bar of your browser is spelled and formatted correctly. If you reached this page by clicking a link, contact the Web site administrator to alert them that the link is incorrectly formatted.Click the Back button to try another link.HTTP Error 404
I am using the Trial version of RoboHelp 2015. I successfully generated Responsive HTML5 output, except the default start page is somewhere in the middle of the Help rather than the first page of the TOC. Is there a way to edit the default start page either within the settings or the output? Also, I am not seeing a previous/next page control within the output frame or header, is there a way to add them?Thanx for any help provided.-William
When I print a pdf using the Printed Documentation option, a few of the items in the table of contents are out of order; both the Project List and Table of Contents are identical.Any ideas?Thanx,Lon
Any way to copy a RH text table to FM, maybe with intermediate steps in another application (Excel? Notepad++?).
