HiI have installed Robohelp 9, and is now trying to upgrade a version 6 project to version 9. When I press upgrade in Robohelp, I keep getting the error "Your project file ...cpd is corrupt and cannot be opened". I have tried to delete it and open the xpj-file again, but there is no difference. Then I found something about a file called rhvariable.apj. I copied this file from a project that I already have upgraded and which were fine. But this gave no solution either. I also read something about deleting the cpd-file and the xpj-file and then edit the hhp-file. The problem is that my corrupt projects - I have 3 at this point - have no hhp-file. So there is a difference.Could anyone help me? I have search and search Best regardsElse
How do you "retire" or archive an article from the project in RoboHelp 11?
I embedded a video (.flv) into a webhelp project and while it plays online, the video is not as sharp as the original. It doesn't matter if I play the webhelp online or local. I don't see any controls to set video quality. If I play the video in VLC, I can make it full screen and the video is razor sharp.Ideas?
Can the "Show" (all topics) text be changed? If so, where do I change it?
Hey folks, My team and I are running into a little issue which I assume has something to do with RoboHelp, but it may be our versioning system. We're not sure. Once in a while -- maybe once a week, sometimes more -- RoboHelp insists that we're trying to delete topics, usually when we do a "Get Latest All". It's usually the same topics, but sometimes new topics are added. (The current list runs at about 10.) We cancel this request, then have to go into TFS to roll back any pending changes. Steps: 1) Open a project connected to TFS. 2) Do a "Get Latest All". 3) See a pop-up asking whether we want to check in the changes involving the files being deleted. Click Cancel and continue with the Get process. 4) Close RoboHelp. 5) Open TFS. See that all those files have a pending change of "Delete", and are checked out by the current user. 6) To fix this (until next time), we Undo Pending Changes in TFS. At this point, if it happens to one team member, it'll happen to ALL team members who touch
I'm not an experienced RoboHelp user. I provide general I.T. services to a small company with 5 employees. They exclusively produce documentation using RoboHelp.I say this to explain that I don't have any experience with using RoboHelp or generating documentation. I'm just trying to help my client find a solution. They are currently having an issue where compiled RoboHelp documentation does not displaying properly in Internet Explorer (and gives different results on different workstations).User number 1 & 2 are on RoboHelp 11 and Internet Explorer 9. These two are still on IE9 because they still have some RoboHelp 9 projects they have not converted over yet. User 3 is on RoboHelp 11 and Internet Explorer 11.For Users 1 and 2, one of these two users would compile the project. When viewing in Internet Explorer, the main window would display properly. When they open a hyperlink in the project, the resulting pop-up window would display empty.&nb
Robohelp HTML v11 generated as WebHelpOur help system is context-sensitive Webhelp that resides on proprietary hardware with a modified browser that supports Webhelp. It is a relatively small (300 topic) system, but is translated into 15 languages (by an outside service). This means (of course) that we have 16 separate folders, one for each language as an autonomous help system. The software on this piece of hardware is getting to be too large for the storage and I'm being asked to find ways of consolidating space. I'm removing images, and every word has to justify its existence, but it's not enough. We cannot host the help on a server because the hardware is not always connected to the internet. When it is, it can sometimes be with a dial up connection. Can anyone think of any suggestions for consolidating space? The developers look at a lot of my files that are not content and say, "Can't these be reused between translations?" I've been giving the "Not if you want it to work" answer, b
I am using RH11 and converted projects from RH6.We were previously using RoboHelp Server but decided to host our help documentation on a simple IIS server using Webhelp layout. Here is the issue:One RH projectI have about 30 different layouts: 15 versions of the product each one being available online or on a BluRay diskI have to publish each layout to different locations and our IIS servers are load balanced so for each layout I need to publish to two different locationsResult is I have about 60 different publishing locationsI read in the following post about issue of slowness in RH8 when more than 3 publishing locations are configured in a single project Re: Single Source Layouts Slowing RoboHelpI did not see any resolution to this and now getting very worried as RH takes forever to open and selecting and opening layout takes 3 to 4 minutesI batch generate all my layouts and let it run and publish over the weekend so having all the publishing locations prepopulated is of utmost import
Hi,I output my RoboHelp project to iOS app successfully, but the only problem is how to save changes for html files. For example, if I check on a checkbox when next time I reopen the app it is still checked. Can anyone help me on this?
I started receiving the error "Cannot find Microsoft Word Installed on your system" whenever I tried to generate printed documentation from RoboHelp 10. This occurred after I installed Open Office 3.4.1.Clicking the "Printed Documentation" option in the SSL pod generated the error. However, right-clicking on the "Printed Documentation" option, selecting "Properties", then clicking "Save and Generate" did work. Go figure.I am using Word 2007.All of these suggested solutions to resolve the problem didn't work, unfortunately.Uninstalling and reinstalling Open Office with the correct option selected for file associations as suggested here:http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/printing/print_issues.htm#other_issuesTried reinstalling the MPJ2DOC.DLL as suggested here:http://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/kb/error-cannot-find-microsoft-word.htmlTried all the suggestions here:http://forums.adobe.com/message/4173839Spent 2 hours with Adobe support (they were helpful but could not fix the problem) un
I'm using the Robohelp trial. I've just started tinkering. The Robohelp window is set to always on top. I'd like to change that so that I can flip back and forth between various programs without minimizing Robohelp (tutorials and such). I can't seem to find a setting that will change this behavior. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Using RoboHelp 2015 (12.0.1.338), and seeing this issue in both IE and Chrome. When I generate and view my WebHelp output locally, its Search feature works fine. However, when it's checked into Microsoft Visual Studio (TFS) and then deployed to a website, the Search feature might work once or twice, but on the 2nd or 3rd search, the search progress bar shows 100%, but no results appear and the page crashes.Seems similar to the issue reported for RH9 in the discussion linked below, but I'm using a much later version of RH, and I'm not sure the RH9 fix applies. Anyone know what's going on?Problem with latest Security Update
Hi,Few of the HTM files in the project are appearing under the URLs section in the Robohelp Project.I am not able to open the file for Edit. If I try to import the file, message - File already exists in the project folder. Please suggest a fix. Thanks in Advance.Regards,Mangai Sivakumar.
I've successfully installed a Print button in the toolbar (thanks to Peter Grainge!), but what I need is to be able to print all the topics, rather than just the one. Is there a way to do this? Thanks,Lon Richardson
How do I create a third and forth level for a TOC without creating a new book? I want to put a topic under a topic. When I click the arrow moving the first topic to the left and try putting a topic under it, it moves the second topic above instead of below and the arrow is greyed out to move the first topic to the right.
We are using RH10, and for some time, we have been trying to convert Excel tables in Robohelp, but it seems that RH will not adjust the size of the table to fit on the page. Even when we update the table size properties to 75%, RH does not respond. It also does not respond when we try to manually adjust the table size. The table remains too wide to fit on the page, which causes users to have to scroll across to find the information they need. What is the most effective way to make Excel spreadsheets resizable, and editable inside of Robohelp?
I have two technical writers working on the same RH 11 project. They've been awesome about keeping their projects in sync. We have run into an issue, however, with the map IDs. One of the writers created all the new map IDs to the existing project. They worked together to import the map file into the main project. While this seemed to work, I suddenly discovered that when I exported the map file to Java/.properties format, lots of map IDs were not appearing in the Java version of the map file. This included new and previously existing map IDs. So my developers made their .properties match to ours, which is wrong and caused a LOT of CSH breaks. My workaround for this is to send my developers the .h file, which includes all the correct map IDs. For the sake of my sanity, I'm trying to figure out why this issue occurred and why the map file is not exporting with all the map IDs. Did my team not import all the correct files or components? Any assistance is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
The DHTML and links within my RoboHelp 11 wysywig are not working when I click on the view button. Is this a setting? What can I do?
Is there a way to add a screen tip to an HTML drop down or expanding hot spot? The hot spot displays as green text on the help screen, but short of writing an instruction within the help screen to have users click on the text, I haven't found any other way to convey this. A screen tip is preferable to a written instruction on the page because when I publish a user guide from the help, I have to painstakingly go through the document and remove all these references to "clicking on the green text". It would be ideal to have a mouse-over screen tip like there is for a hyperlink. Is there a way to do this? If not, can Adobe think about adding this feature? Thanks.
We just upgraded to RH 2015, and I've been looking at the responsive layouts that come with the product. I've worked with the multiscreen HTML5 layouts in the past, and tried out one of the responsive layouts from RH 11. It seems to me that there has been a complete redesign of how the responsive layouts work in RH 2015 that make it virtually impossible to edit them without using the built in editor. For example, looking at the Azure_Blue layout, only the Topic.slp page is present. The TOC, Index, Glossary and Search .slp pages no longer exist. In addition, the layout.css file is now one gigantic string on a single line instead of a more traditional .css file with the classes and divs broken out.I've done a good amount of customization on our current Multiscreen HTML5 layout, and was hoping to incorporate some of the new features of the RH2015 responsive design (such as displaying the search results in the sidebar), but from what I've seen it doesn't seem as if this will be possible wi
Hi GuysJust tried to install RSC on Server 2012 and can't get pst ".NET Framework 2.x is not installed). Anyone managed to get it working?TIAmark
In connection with upgrading our environment, I have a few questions I need your help with:We are about to update our many RH 9 Projects to RH 11. Will the TFS source control be upgraded with the project? Our TFS is now 2013. Should we updtate the client's MSSCCI to Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2013 & 2015 MSSCCI Provider 32-bit?Any important input re. transferring client environment to new client with Windows 8.1?Thanks
TOC/Index/Search features not showing once file has been generated. The 'fix' files were already in the correct folder and it still doesn't work. We recently converted to IE11 and are running Robohelp 10. Nothing seems to work.
I'm using RH2015 and have a Merged Project that I want to use a new Responsive layout with rather than current Webhelp output.I have made no other changes to the structure of help so all that is new is the new layout type. When the developers add it to the application if you click on Help – Main the help opens at the correct opening page and you can navigate using the TOC, Index etc. This is the help page URL that is displayed…. index.htm#t=mergedProjects%2F00main%2Fhelphome%2Fhelp_home_page.htm But when you are in a screen within the application and click the help button to get CSH (screen level help) the help page URL is being changed by something. It is adding the help home page details at the end of the page call as per.... index.htm?#mergedProjects/10act/act/acts012/acts012.htm=&t=mergedProjects%2F00main%2Fhelphome%2Fhelp_home_page.htm This means page level help is not being displayed only the help home page. As a test I have reissued
Hi!I've used RH 10's epub output to generate an epub from our online help, but I haven't been able to find a ereader app for mobile that supports the expanding hotspots (DHTML) that we have scattered throughout our thousands of help topics.Calibre works great for this purpose, but is only available for PC and Mac. I'd love to be able to single-source many of our client-facing documents (release notes, courseware, etc.) from our online help since it already contains every procedure for operating our software, but I'd like for customers to be able to see and use these ebooks on their mobile devices. CHM readers also work great, but are not right for mobile applications because they're not reflowable.Does anyone know of any app or browser-based app that can support expanding hotspots? Thanks!Dawn
