Hi there!I am still trying to learn about publishing a project to the RoboHelp server 9. We have the url and our server set up and everything and right now I am only working with two topics. I have them both mapped with their individual ID's. But when I go to generate and publish the project it will only display the default page. I even tried manually changing the mapping id in the url and it would still only display the default page. What steps can I take to get back on the right track?Thanks,Sabrina

In older versions of robohelp you could replace an image without losing the hotspots, how do you do that in robohelp 11

I am running VM ware with a automated floating desktop pool. I uses apps volume manager to create software packages and push to the clients machines. Robohelp will install and activate, but everyting the end user logs in he is prompted to activate the software with a license key. Is there a way to supress this activation?

Although I get a happy message in a dialog box that says HTML Help has been sucessfully generated, the Output view tells a different story: Fatal Error: Unexpected error from Microsoft HTML compiler. And, it does create a CHM, but when I try to open, it gives a Cannot Open File error. Then, when I try to compile again, I get an error that says "Cannot create compiled file. It may be open in another window...", which of course it is not, because I cannot open it. So....I close everything down, restart, and try again - have done this about 6 times with no better result. I am having way more problems with RH in the last 2 days than I have had with any software I can remember : ( - My company is building a V1 Enterprise level product, still in Alpha testing, and it's more stable. Arggggh.... Should I reinstall RH? Scrap the project and start from scratch? (no......too many hours investing in TOCs, settings, importing, templates, css, ect) Any insights? Suggestions? Going home now.

I apologize for starting another string, but I've search on 'translation' and 'localization' to find answers to my questions and have come up with nothing.So...We are localizing our online help project (Robohelp 11 compiled as RoboHTML) into several languages. When we did this several years ago, we just uploaded the entire project to the translation vendor and it came back localized.Apparently they no longer use RoboHelp, or even know what it is, so they want us JUST to send them the .HTM files. It seems though, that they would need more than that for the glossary, index and TOC. I can include the .glo, .hhc and index file - but is that enough?Does anyone have an actual process of doing this that they could share - that includes what files from the project need to be sent to the translation vendor?Thanks for any help you can give us.

I'm doing some prototyping with WebHelp in RoboHelp 11, but documentation on certain features seems to be a bit scarce (as far as I can find), and I have a few questions.First and most important is Multi-User environment. I understand RoboHelp supports this feature, but I can’t seem to find much information about it, especially in regards to WebHelp. The ideal scenario would be to have the files on a shared drive, and have multiple users access it whenever needed. Is this at all possible? If yes, what would I need to do to set it up? If no, is there another alternative (preferably one that doesn’t involve SQL servers)?Secondly, I have a minor problem with a style sheet. Once imported into RoboHelp, certain styles are categorized in the “Other” section, and do not appear in the “Styles and Formatting” pod at all. I can still call these styles in the HTML code, though their formatting is strange, and not what it should be.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It isn't listed under the pod options. My layout doesn't seem to match the one described in the help files. How can I insert breakcrumbs into my file?

Hello! I'm new to TCS 2015 (and Adobe products in general) and I've created a book in Framemaker that I would like to link to Robohelp. It has 8 chapters, anywhere between 30 and 90 pages per chapter. In trying to link this document into Robohelp, Robohelp shows "Scanning..." for a while and then "Out of Memory," after which the program crashes. I don't know a way around this - can someone give any advice?Some other bits of info:- The Framemaker content has been imported from Word 2013, using the "Copy into Document" option- All images (screenshots - quite a bit of them) were also copied into the document, not imported by reference. Any advice is greatly appreciated!-Sam

I inherited an Online Help system and have had to make many updates - including renaming topics to more logical names. But when I go into a topic's properties, often times there is more than one topic name in the Assigned Map IDs field. But, no matter how I try, I cannot get rid of the extra topic name that does not belong there.I've even tried manually editing the BSSCDefault.H and whcshdata.js files, but the topic name does not appear in either file. Where does RH get these topic names if not from these two files?Thanks.

According to a comment that I received, JAWS should announce something like "New page opening" each time a new online help page is selected/opened. Is there a way to add something to trigger an announcement each time a new help page opens?Using Robohelp HTML version 10, with WebHelp as the output.Thanks

I have a style sheet in my project and some styles will attach correctly, while others default to none or normal. I am copying the txt from Word but am clearing the Word style before copying it over. I have a numbered list style but it won't attach to my numbered list.

I am facing an issue in the HTML output RoboHelp 11. The issues is with numbering and bullet points. Actually I m creating a help file for an mobile application. Whenever I view this output.html on web browser, it is working perfectly fine. The issue is the space between number or bullet point's format is getting disturbed. But when I view this help file on Mobile, it is getting disturbed. Kindly suggest me how to solve this issue

Hello All,I am working on Robohelp 9,  i have updated TOC, and generated WEbhelp for the same.When i open SSL folder in the  Project folder, Index file(.htm -  through which we actually view the output) is not getting updated with the updated TOC of the project. however, if i generate the webhelp at different location, TOC is getting updated but it don't get updated in SSL folder.Is there any way to update the SSL folder - Index.htm with modified TOC ?Thanks,Nutan

Hi allI've had a number of poor results with autonumbered lists during conversion from Frame to RoboHelp in Technical Communication Suite 2015. First it didn't seem to matter which option I chose, convert to HTML list, multilevel list or convert to text, all my list items were returned with the number 1. Each list item was starting over again at the beginning. Then I finally removed a property from my numbered paragraph style that RoboHelp had placed, unknown to me, into my CSS. Unfortunately I can't remember exactly what it was as I was desperately trying many options at the time, but it did have something to do with x-list. This is not a CSS property as far as I know, so it's some RoboHelp command. Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to sync up RH11 with SharePoint on Office 365. I know RH and SP are compatible, but unsure whether it will work if SP is on Office 365. When I create a SP site on 365, I of course have full control. I go into RH11, in version control and try to add the website and I get an error - 'Error 403: The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.' Is 365 and RH incompatible? If there's any resolution or confirmation that it will not work, please let me know. I've been at this for a few days now... thanks!

Using Robohelp 10.0.1.292, Webhelp generation hangs/crashes at the 'Updating files' stage, one one project only. Why might this be, please?

We recently updated from TCS5 to Release 2015 and now we have a problem.The RH project is linked to FM. There are some pictures that are set with a Conditional Build tag. Those pictures in RH are created with a black box around the  edge.  If I remove the CBT in FM, the black box goes away in RH.In FM, there is a setting for CBTs to "Show Condition Indicators" where, if enabled, places a colored frame around each flagged picture.  That is off in FM, but it seems to be stuck on in RH, and I cannot find anyway to turn it off.If the Anchored Frame in FM is empty, then RH does not add the box.  If I add anything into the Anchored Frame, the box returns.If I turn off the option in RH to "Use Distiller to Generate Image", the image quality drops precipitously, and the box is now displayed within the image frame itself.If you edit the picture in RH, it shows that the black frame is part of the image, so something is being added during the import.This did not happen is any

WebHelp | RH2015I'm struggling to get my RH styles to pull through into my printed documentation. Does anyone have experience of mapping RH list styles to Word template list styles?I've created a new list style in RH but it doesn't appear for mapping in the Print Document Appearance step of the Printed Documentation wizard.Can list styles be mapped? I used to be able to print...but not now.  I've tried all I know to get it to print.  Help !!  It keeps saying "no pages selected" !!!  I just can't figure out what happened.

When calling multiscreen help over the URL then most of the times (not always) the  navigation pane only displays a "Home" link and a search field. Is this a known issue?I am using IE10 and have been using the Desktop_knowledge layout for testingThe call I have been using is the following: file:///C:/<path_to_project_folder>/!SSL!/Multiscreen_HTML5/index.htm?rhcsh=1&rhnewwnd=0&rhmapno=<mapnumber> I have also tried to define a window in RH (with the navigation elements such as TOC etc. activated) and then specify it in the call (&rhwnd=<name>) but this does not work at all for me either.

In RoboHelp 2015, how do you create a hyperlinked pop-up window that appears within a topic (that is, the pop-up window appears when the hyperlink is clicked)? I have a screen that appears when a button is clicked and want to show that screen in the same topic.

I could not find anything about calling the responsive and multiscreen output formats of RH11 via API. Is this simply the same as for webhelp?The API is documented rather well so I was astonished not to find anything concerning the new HTML5 formats - or did I overlook something?Robert

I am trying to use RH11 to convert a bunch of .dita files to .html, but so far have had no success.  I have DitaOT installed in my program folders.I've been opening robohelp, selecting new project -> import -> ditamap file.  select the ditamap to use, create a new folder for the project, hit next.In the replace default XSLT file for conversion field, I put in the dita2html-base.xsl file.In the DITA Open Toolkit home directory field, I navigate to the location of the DitaOT root folder, select it, and click finish.When I click, finish, robohelp almost immediately gives me an error message saying "No error occurred", leading me to believe that I filled out all of the required fields correctly, but when I check the output folder I created, it is empty.Any tips on things to try/ what I should change would be very appreciated (or if i'm trying to force RH to do something that it isn't normally able to do, that would be appreciated as well).
