We are using RH 10. Much of our text contains curvy quotes (ascii character set is & # 8 2 1 7 ; without the spaces). If a user performs a string search that contains a straight single quote (ascii character set is & # 3 9 ; without the spaces) in place of the curvy single quote (e.g., "customer's assigned branch" with single quote in the search box to find "customer’s assigned branch" with curvy quote in the topic), the WebHelp search does not find the topic.Questions: Is there a way to make the search treat the single quote and curvy quote the same (or ignore the single quote altogether)? If not, what is the best way to go about performing a search-and-replace, keeping in mind this is likely to require multiple updates to just about every topic in the RH project? Thanks!
In robohelp 11, is there a way to assign a window specifically to a topic page like there is in Robohelp 7? When in robohelp7, if you go to Topic properties for a Topic, and in the general tab you will see a "Window" field with a drop down... We are wondering if robohelp 11 also has this?
My system is authored in English and translated into 12 languages. Language number 13 is Hindi. How do I go about this for a system using MultiScreen HTML5?
I am trying Robohelp 2015. I have MS Word 2007 installed. While trying to output a printed documentation, I recieve error: "Cannot Find Microsoft Word Installed on Your System"
Hello,I am trying Robohelp 2015 on Windows 7. It could not work with Word 2007, so today I've updated to Word 2013. RoboHelp HTML 2015I dropped my mouse. Project was open and I was editing a topic. I dropped my mouse . . . and here's what happened. I exited without saving and came back in . . now all topics display as this. Any idea on how to restore to Normal view?
I’m using RoboHelp 10 HTML to publish WebHelp onto a network server. I have 11 merged projects consisting of about 3100 topics. After several years of using this method, all of a sudden, I am unable to link to topics within other projects merged under the same parent. I can create external links outside the merged help as usual. This occurs regardless of the project I’m working on. When I use the Hyperlink dialog, I select Link to: ‘File’ and browse to the desired topic. I click the ‘Open’ button to return to the Hyperlink dialog. When I click the ‘OK’ button, nothing happens, except a change of color indicating I am making contact with the button. I have searched the forums and none of the scenarios/solutions seem to match my dilemma. I reinstalled RoboHelp on my PC. I tried deleting the old CPD file. None have resulted in a solution.
Just wondering if Adobe is offering any comparable alternative to the CHM output file (as Microsoft Security Update 896358 will not allow CHM's to work when placed on the network)?I'd install it locally, but as I understand the security issue, the CHM remains a security risk if installed on the client.WebHelp is not currently an option in my situation (can't host the files). I know there are workarounds, but I'm not to enthused about the registry edits outlined in the link below, either, and as this post points out, the CHM remains a security risk even if you are willing to engage in registry edits:CHM Files Not WorkingAnyone know if Adobe has, or is planning to, provide another option? Thanks,Josh
Where can I go to format the spacing between bullets and numbers and the text that follows them? Thanks
Robo help 10I would like to ask How to change the version number in the title window bar, the window that appears when generating the chm the title does not change...Any help?i Really need some helpthank you
While comparing our BSSCDefault.h to the client's list of map IDs, and found that some IDs listed in the RH Edit Map IDs dialog do not appear in the BSSCDefault.h file.I didn't find this exact problem in the archives, but in a few other Map ID topics I found that Peter Grainge suggested checking the Map ID Report (e.g.Re: Mapped topic names missing in Map ID dialog). When I look at the report, the ID is there. Peter, are you saying that looking at the BSSCDefault.h file in an external text editor is not accurate, and it will work as long as it is showing in the report?
I'm using RoboHelp HTML11.I've been looking for a way to isolate changed files from a generated projectThe team currently sends everything, old & new, to the server guys in a zip file. The server guys have asked us to send them only new files repeatedly. My current fix is to publish to a local directory, which is preserved, and use excel Macros to take any files newer than a timestamp (which I set just before generation). Then it's zipped and sent off as before. Can't publish directly to the server. Don't have the permissions, and can't get them . Policy reasons as I understand it.Is there a better way to do this?I'll probably be switching to a shell script if robohelp can't do it on it's own.
Hi all,I'm curious if this is 'By Design' or something I'm doing...? I have a project that is an in depth Administrators guide. I've used Conditional Build Tags to block out most of the Administrator and Support information (server names, API data flow charts etc) to create a Users guide for the app as the GUI and app behavior is covered along with the back end information.I can publish this project to it's own folder set (Pathed \\server\share\RH_Projects\UserGuide... as opposed to \\server\share\RH_Projects\AdminGuide...) when I publish and set the conditional build and it seems to work well. The TOC is correct and the additional information and topics don't show in the project. However, if I search for an API name or a server name it still pulls up the topics that were tagged to NOT be included in the build. Looking in the UserGuide folders I see the topics that I didn't want in the build are still being moved into the output folder and am wonderi
I am trying to generate a .docx file using RoboHelp HTML version 11, but RH keeps getting stuck at 'Saving <file name>. Any ideas?
Hi,Did a quick search to see if this question has been posted and answered before in a RoboHelp forum. I'm sure Peter Grainge, the RoboHelp guru, will know the answer.I'm having scripting problems trying to print a .chm file on my computer. Not all .chms on my computer have the problem. Only this particular one that a developer gave to me that he produced from Sandcastle. I want to print the entire .chm contents to PDF.When I click Print on the .chm toolbar and choose "Print the selected topic" in the Print topics dialog box,All works as expected. I can choose the Adobe PDF printer as my printer and create a PDF.However, if I try to print by selecting Print the selected heading and all subtopicsI get a ton of scripting errors, like this one:Is this something I can fix on my side or does the developer need to change settings in Sandcastle? I thought it might be the hhctrl.ocx Active X control on my machine, but it exists on my machine and seems to be registered.I know this a RoboH
Hey folks,Today, when trying to delete a file, my system began complaining of an "Invalid Parameter". After this, although links to the file are deleted, the file still appears in the Project view. Additionally, when trying to check in my changes, the system complains that the "ImageSize.Width" parameter is set to 272, and the value should be from 1 to 256. But I haven't touched any images today. In fact, all I've done today is work on a Table of Contents and Conditional Build Tags. This error is brand new, and I'm not even sure where it's coming from. (I did a search for "ImageSize.Width" and didn't find anything in any file.) This error appears every time I try to delete a file now. I've tried this with 4 different files, and it happens with all. After the error appears, I can't even check in my changes to my versioning system (TFS); I have to restart the application to check changes in. Additionally, the file remains in the project manager. Any help is appreciated.
Can someone please explain to me, how we can create What's this? (fields, buttons, icons etc) help with Robohelp, without the need to define a topic for each and every field in the application?
I upgraded my computer to Windows 10 and now has lost my Robohelp 7 activation. Adobe does not allow re-activation as it reports that the maximum activations have been reached. This is not the case. It seems that Adobe sees the upgrade as another computer. What can I do to re-activate my account?
Whenever i import my word document into RH all the styles and settings that i have applied in word are either lost or garbled How to import a word file without losing the styles and settings applied in word?
Current project: Web Help currently in RoboHelp for Word 10 with a lot of conditional text, many see alsos and related items, and multiple single-source layouts. Upgrading to RH 11 and will use Responsive HTML layoutI thought it might be best to first convert the RH for Word 10 project into a RH HTML 10 project, then upgrade it to 11. Since I haven't found anyone who has actually done the conversion, I thought I'd check here to see what y'all have experienced.
Years back I maintained a Microsoft HTML Help project and a What's This Help Composer project for a desktop application. In 2005, I converted my Microsoft HTML Help project to a WebHelp project and it went up on the Web. To save on translation costs, the What's This Help project was removed from the application. Now, customers have indicated that they want the old field-level What's This Help back again? My questions are:1. Using RoboHelp 7, I am under the assumption that I cannot integrate a What's This Help project into my WebHelp project (correct me if I am wrong), but can I create a standalone What's This Help project?2. Can I publish a standalone What's This Help project to the Web like I did with my WebHelp project? Or, must the What's This Help project be installed on each PC locally?3. If the What's This Help is not a viable option, what are my other field-level help choices? Right now, I have help topics in my WebHelp project mapped to the Help but
Is it possible to get the "Robohelp 2015" upgrades through the Cloud and can the Robohelp application be shared between users? As the same way as the Photoshop application that is available through the Adobe Creative cloud and licence can be re-attributed to users. Thanks
Technical info:RoboHelp 11 patch level 11.0.4.291Windows 7 OSI'm a bit new to context sensitivity in WebHelp. I have a reasonably large WebHelp project so I'm adding CS to it. I asked the developers to create topic IDs for the various interface pages however I'm not sure how to use what I received from them.I was expecting something in the format:(Web interface page) Setup... (Map ID) XYZ, (Map Number) 1234What I'm seeing is in the format:(Web interface page) Setup... (URL) http://example.example.com/blah/settings.cfm?blah=1&blahh=1 (help index) 12345678Can RoboHelp use this format and if so how? I had a look at Peter Grainge's site (thanks Peter) but I got the impression that I should be seeing either a URL or context ID (any misinterpretation of that is entirely mine).
In our product, we had the old help set up so the user could hit F1 on a field, and it would display a small pop-up describing the field, etc. Now after converting the projects to Microsoft HTML help, opposed to WinHelp (HPJ), when a user hits F1 on the field, the proper topic opens up but the entire help opens with it. The topic is being displayed in the main frame. We just need to know how to get the topic to open up by itself as a mini-pop up like our last help did before conversion. The screenshot below shows how the old Winhelp opened up in our application. Again, now when we hit F1 the proper topic displays, but is opened in the main frame with the entire help project. How do we get this pop up to open up like it did below in our newly converted HTML help?ThanksZach Bell
Hello,When I generate output files using the RoboHelp 10 HTML Printed Documentation, the pages on screen contain code for all headings on all pages. When I print the document, the code is gone. Does anyone know how I can not display the code on the screen?Thank you.
