We have two related projects (RH10) that have two types of dropdowns. H2s are dropdowns that have twisties. There are also dropdowns for "for example" and "show screen" that have a separate hyperlink style that includes an image -- I'll call these "other dropdowns".In my project, all works just peachy. In my coworker's project, some of the "other dropdowns" don't work in the output (they're fine in the preview).Long story short to condense an afternoon of frustration testing scenarios:She remembered that she added conditions to her project. There is no conditional text in any dropdowns, however there is conditional text in the topics where these dropdowns are not working. If I generate without applying the conditional expression, all the dropdowns work fine.If I generate with the conditional expression, the "other dropdowns" do not work in any topics that have conditional text (but do work in any topics that have no conditional text). Many thanks for any ideas from anyone whose brains ar
I am using Robohelp HTML 11 and I am receiving the Get Latest Version prompt for files for which I already have the latest version. We are using SharePoint as our content manager. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I would appreciate any help.
Is there any control that will decrease the space between the bullets and sentences? It looks fine on the desktop, but when viewed in all three browsers there's too much space. I am using RoboHelp 11 with WebHelp as my primary layout.
Are these versions compatible? I have checked in the registry and the MSSCCI connector is listed there.
My RoboHelp problem is the demo which was supplied with the purchase of RoboHelp 11 fails to compile as instructed. The link given for the RoboHelp Demo can be located at:http://help.adobe.com/en_US/robohelp/robohtml/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d11aff59c571-7f39.ht mlI followed the demo instructions exactly but the code would not compile. I traced most of the errors and found them to be reference errors and I corrected them. The only error to date I could not immediately fix was the compile error:Error 1 Interop type 'MSXML2.XMLHTTP30Class' cannot be embedded. Use the applicable interface instead. Hello allRH10 to webhelpI just received a call from an ongoing client. He's reporting that they are experiencing TOC caching issues in IE only. A topic and a book in the TOC that we removed in the latest updates are still appearing in the TOC, but obviously are dead links to topics that no longer exist. He said they cleared the folder and replaced it entirely with the new output files. They clear the cache but they keep showing up. He says they don't have this issue in Chrome.Any ideas? Thanks,Laurie
I have a project with about 150 topics that will soon grow rapidly for some of the following reasons. My project is basically a technical reference guide for a suite of software applications that Clients can implement all together as a comprehensive solution or individual components. Currently the project contains information for all the components divided into sections for each. Clients can easily navigate via TOC to the sections that cover theinformation for the components they have implemented, but they usually just use the search to find what they are looking for. This has worked fine so far, but the problem is that the main (base component) is completely changing while the other components will remain the same (although they will continue to be upgraded with new enhancements). I would like to replace the old content on the main component with new content and just do away with the old, but that is a no go, because our organization will continue to support the current version of tha
Good morning,I have a project created in RH 7 which I just converted to RH 11. Have not worked on this particular project before. WebHelp was generated with no issus (so far), but when I tried to generate a CHM, I see the TOC, Index and Search panes but no topic content displays when a topic is selected. Where should I be looking to find out what the problem is? I have not worked on this particular project - was created by another writer and I'm just taking it on.Thanks for any help.Diane
In the company where I work for, we deal with RoboHelp 9.I have been working at this company for less than a year, so I don't know exactly how they did to install it, but I know who did it. We would like to upgrade RH 9, but the question is: Is it possible to upgrade RH 9 to RH 10, only by entering the Adobe ID that acquired its license?I can't see it, because I don't have the password. But some workmates said maybe it is necessary to have another license of RH 10... I don't think it will be necessary, but I am not sure, that is why I am asking you. Do I need a new license or can we just upgrade to new versions by logging with our Adobe ID?Thanks in advance! PS: Is there many differences to newer versions of RH? I would like it could be more flexible, I mean, for improvements in searches and so on. I am used to RoboHelp 9, so I am still not aware about the updates.
Hello there,I am currently using RH 9 without incidence until today.I can't seem to publish my project to the server. The only thing I have done differently with this project is import word documents as topics rather than creating from scratch. Is there anything I need to do when importing work documents that makes publishing differen? This is the message I get when trying to publish: Warning: Failed to publish to "EPR eManual". reason: Cannot connect to server: http..Thanking everyone in advance.Natalee
We just downloaded RH 2015 for a new writer in our company. I would like to know the ramifications as the rest of us are using RH11.After setting him up, I had to upgrade my project to 2015 on his workstation so he could work on it. My URGENT question - will I also be able to continue working on the same project in RH11?Thanks.
I've applied all of the Adobe fixes but still get the blank page in IE 11. It even says "Blank page" on the title bar.Chrome works fine. FireFox not at all (even with the Adobe fix added). Not sure what else to do. My initial configuration when I got TCS4 was with IE 8. That was fine. Then, with the company mandated upgrades from IE, it started to give blank pages. All of the Adobe fixes - RH10.zip, FixForRH10Install.zip, IE11Fix_RH10.zip, whutils.zip (FireFox) - have added up to:Not working with FireFoxIE 11 opens a blank page. On the software it's in, there are two help options -- to open the help at the initial page, or to open it at the specific dialog box you're in. It doesn't open the initial page, but will open the individual dialog help pages. No problems with Chrome. Is this an Adobe issue, browser issue, or my own lack of understanding issue??I had a developer look at it briefly, and below are his initial comments.Any insight as to what to do would be appreciated. Thanks, dan====
I was finally able to reload my Help project in Robohelp 10 after discovering that it had become read only for some reason. I had been getting the "Open project was cancelled or the application was unable to load database for" [path to my RoboHelp project\MyRoboProject.CPD] error message. However, now it won't let me save. Instead, I get the following error message. Does anyone know what is going on here? Thanks
I have created a multilist style, but when using it in RoboHelp 9 (also tested in RoboHelp 11), I am unable to create a new list with that format without the numbering continuing from the previous list. Numbers continue even if I try to change them to 1. When I change it to 1 (which is already selected under the format bullets and numbering), the number disappears and the style is set to normal.Following is the coding for the list:rh-list.Basic1 { x-lvl-2-type: lower-alpha; x-lvl-4-type: decimal; x-lvl-4-format: "&o<x>&c"; x-lvl-5-format: "&o<x>&c"; x-lvl-6-type: lower-roman; x-lvl-6-format: "&o<x>&c"; x-lvl-7-format: "<x>."; x-lvl-9-type: lower-roman; x-lvl-1-pfx-class: rls-1-Basic1; x-lvl-3-type: lower-roman; x-lvl-3-format: "<x>."; x-lvl-2-format: "<x>."; x-lvl-1-format: "<x>."; x-lvl-5-type: lower-alpha; x-lvl-7-type: circle; x-lvl-8-type: disc; x-lvl-8-pfx-class: rls-8-Basic1; x-lvl-7-pfx-class: rls-7-Ba
In chm output generated by Robohelp, when I click the Home button the message "This program cannot display the webpage" is displayed.
I can see from the CSS file that the tabs are considered list items. First of all, why? Second of all, is there a way to change this? For some reason, it's taking the bullet styles from my topic CSS file and applying it:CSS below:/*Created with Adobe RoboHelp 10.*//************ Framework CSS ************/html,body { width: 100%; min-width: 920px;}/* Required to set a maximum width to make the sidebar look good. Do NOT change. */body { font-size: 14px; margin: 0 ! important ; padding: 0 ! important ; font-family: "Lucida Grande", Arial, sans-serif; background: #ffffff url(../../Help_Images/USBank_logo_reversed.png) no-repeat ! important ;}/*background-color: #ffffff ;*//* Background on body to force the sidebar to the bottom of the screen. *//* Set background here for optimal resizing */a { color: #000077;}a:hover { text-decoration: underline;}div.floatholder { width: 100%; min-width: 920px; min-height: 100%; height: 100%; margin: 0 auto; padding: 0; height: 100%; over
Hi there!I am still trying to learn about publishing a project to the RoboHelp server 9. We have the url and our server set up and everything and right now I am only working with two topics. I have them both mapped with their individual ID's. But when I go to generate and publish the project it will only display the default page. I even tried manually changing the mapping id in the url and it would still only display the default page. What steps can I take to get back on the right track? Thanks,Sabrina
I'm generating Printed Documentation from RoboHelp 10 HTMLHelp and I'm missing a topic. The log shows that it is starts to process the file, but doesn't finish, and therefore no explanation of why.I looked at the source for the file and it's identical to the file processed immediately prior, which is processed correctly. Any suggestions?-mHere's the log. I bolded the text that I referred to earlier:Starting to build Printed Documentation...Printed Documentation processor 10.0.0.287Building C:\build\SyncDoc_src\syncDoc\mergedProjects\Syncref\all\!SSL!\BookTOC\File\BookTOC.doc ...Preparing to create Printed Documentation...Clearing output folder...Preparing files for Print Document...Copying files...Updating files...Finished preparing in 2 seconds.Preparing environment...Printed Document Generator Environment: Word 14.0.7151, OS 6.1.7601, RAM 0 M BytesBuilding Printed Documentation 'BookTOC'...Building Single Document 'BookTOC.doc'...Building 'Title Page'...Building 'Tab
In older versions of robohelp you could replace an image without losing the hotspots, how do you do that in robohelp 11
Hi Everyone, I recently came across this help layout on a RoboHELP 2015 page. Please can someone tell me how this layout was created. here is the link http://help.adobe.com/en_US/robohelp/2015/robohtml/index.html#t=book%2Frob_layouts_la%2Frob_layouts_la-36.htm%23XREF_WS2d2a17056e219198280ed11Thanks
I am running VM ware with a automated floating desktop pool. I uses apps volume manager to create software packages and push to the clients machines. Robohelp will install and activate, but everyting the end user logs in he is prompted to activate the software with a license key. Is there a way to supress this activation?
Although I get a happy message in a dialog box that says HTML Help has been sucessfully generated, the Output view tells a different story: Fatal Error: Unexpected error from Microsoft HTML compiler. And, it does create a CHM, but when I try to open, it gives a Cannot Open File error. Then, when I try to compile again, I get an error that says "Cannot create compiled file. It may be open in another window...", which of course it is not, because I cannot open it. So....I close everything down, restart, and try again - have done this about 6 times with no better result. I am having way more problems with RH in the last 2 days than I have had with any software I can remember : ( - My company is building a V1 Enterprise level product, still in Alpha testing, and it's more stable. Arggggh.... Should I reinstall RH? Scrap the project and start from scratch? (no......too many hours investing in TOCs, settings, importing, templates, css, ect) Any insights? Suggestions? Going home now.
I apologize for starting another string, but I've search on 'translation' and 'localization' to find answers to my questions and have come up with nothing.So...We are localizing our online help project (Robohelp 11 compiled as RoboHTML) into several languages. When we did this several years ago, we just uploaded the entire project to the translation vendor and it came back localized.Apparently they no longer use RoboHelp, or even know what it is, so they want us JUST to send them the .HTM files. It seems though, that they would need more than that for the glossary, index and TOC. I can include the .glo, .hhc and index file - but is that enough?Does anyone have an actual process of doing this that they could share - that includes what files from the project need to be sent to the translation vendor? Thanks for any help you can give us.
I'm doing some prototyping with WebHelp in RoboHelp 11, but documentation on certain features seems to be a bit scarce (as far as I can find), and I have a few questions.First and most important is Multi-User environment. I understand RoboHelp supports this feature, but I can’t seem to find much information about it, especially in regards to WebHelp. The ideal scenario would be to have the files on a shared drive, and have multiple users access it whenever needed. Is this at all possible? If yes, what would I need to do to set it up? If no, is there another alternative (preferably one that doesn’t involve SQL servers)?Secondly, I have a minor problem with a style sheet. Once imported into RoboHelp, certain styles are categorized in the “Other” section, and do not appear in the “Styles and Formatting” pod at all. I can still call these styles in the HTML code, though their formatting is strange, and not what it should be.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It isn't listed under the pod options. My layout doesn't seem to match the one described in the help files. How can I insert breakcrumbs into my file?
