Hi guys,I'm pretty sure this isn't possible, but I just want to confirm I'm not missing something.I want to add a topic TOC immediately below the first heading of every topic. The only way to do this is to manually add the placeholder to every topic (either through RH or via a find and replace on the html), right? It's not possible to do using a master page or anything? Thanks in advance.
I have been fighting with the RoboHelp command line for days. We have an existing help product that we can generate from the Project IDE consitantly. We set up our layouts, assign the ones we want to build in batch mode. Then build and validate them both generated in batch and one at a time. But when whe run the command line, "RHCL myproject -b" it does not generate the same results AT ALL. It looks like we are running the layouts that are assigned to be run in batch mode (we can see the out put going to the correct locations under the correct names) but the result is just not the same as we get when whe execute batch via the IDE.Does this actualy work? Is this a feature that only works properly in RoboHelp 10?Does anyone have any positive experiance running the RoboHelp from the command line ?
How do I remove, not just hide, "In This Topic" from my guide?
Using RoboHelp HTML 11.I've just started using Responsive HTML5 on a desktop in Internet Explorer 11. I was wondering why this layout had no sidebar on the left, until I happened to expand the browser window to nearly full width of the screen. That's when it finally appeared. Is there any way to control the point at which the sidebar appears or disappears?
i am trying to do a batch generate but nothing happens. I notice that the status says "out of date"out of date means location has changed since last batch generate.is there a way to point my project to the right location so that I can batch generate??
Greetings, When we opened RoboHelp (10) this morning, the Generate option had disappeared from the File menu. It was there and working yesterday when we closed the project. We have tried all the obvious fixes (File > Customize...), resetting to defaults, etc. The project will NOT let us simply drag the option back to the File menu or to the toolbar. I was able to create a shortcut key in order to gain access to the function, but I want it back in the menu as an option. Ideas, anyone? Thanks!!
I plan to use RoboHelp to generate printed output on various size papers.Where do I set the page size and margin widths?
On the Generate Native Mobile App screen, the SETUP tab wants to know where to find SDK's for PhoneGap, Android, JDK and Apache Art, but the default DOWNLOAD links have changed and don't lead to the expected pages. Can someone help with current URL's? Thanks much,Bill Arnold
I have an older Help project that is having formatting problems with non-IE browsers. I previously was able to work around those issues by using the "Convert RoboHelp Edited topics to HTML." However, RH11 is now adding a reference to "http://www,w3,irg/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd" in the output of every topic that is messing with the format. Is there any way to suppress RoboHELP from adding this reference in published topics? It is part of the DOCTYPE tag at the start of each topic. I can manually delete each reference, but I have hundreds of topics...
There is no provision for adding automatic numbering to the images in Robohelp 11
What I have in mind is a minimalist output that would just include the relevant topic and Table of Contents, but without the top bar. The Help files could then be accessed in the same way as standard WebHelp, but would have the required aesthetic style. Could anyone advise on the best way to achieve this in Robohelp please?
I am using RH 10, appropriately patched, running WIN7.And I am losing my tiny mind.I have maybe 15 map numbers that link to bookmarks within topics. They used to work. Now they throw this error :HHC3015: WarningI have:- destroyed the .cpd- burned the .xpj- recreated the project, phoenix-like, from the .hhpStill getting the error.Any ideas?Thank you for your time, Cara Bereck Levy
RH11 This question is about webhelp best design practices for tables. Is there a guideline for selecting table options that work best with browser displays, printing, and usability? We typically set tables to 100%, but are considering autofit. While 100% is consistent, "autofit to content" seems easier to read. If using both, when is "autofit to content" the best choice?Would appreciate your experience in choosing options and user feedback.Thank you
I'm importing topics from RoboHelp 9 to RH 11. I have a folder holding all the main & sub-folders (let's call it MAIN Folder). Nearly every time I import a topic into one of the lower folders, I get a MAIN Folder along with it, which I cannot delete, so I rename it Extra Folder1 (on up to 6 so far). Why is this happening and what can I do to stop it?Thanks.LonR
After implementing the solution provided for the question 'Responsive HTML5 Output: How to auto adjust the screen resolution for all devices?', the function bar in output does not appear and also another vertical scroll bar in the output. I edited the max-width value in the layoutfix.min.css file and fixed the function bar issue. How can I do away with the additional vertical scroll bar?
Using RH 11.0.4.291 (integrated with FM 12, although I'm not sure whether that's relevant)Hi allI've got a couple of child projects merged into a parent project, everything working fine in desktop view, but when I resize the window to check all is OK in tablet and/or mobile views, I'm getting 'File not found' errors when I click particular topics in the TOC. These same topics work absolutely fine from the desktop TOC.In case it's relevant, the offending topics are always the top level ones (which is obviously not good!). The 'File not found error' shows that the TOC link is failing to look in the correct mergedProjects folder for the topics, although it is looking in the folder that holds the child and parent projects... Other links, browse, search, etc, all seem to work OK. It's definitely something to do with merging as I've checked that the problem doesn't arise if I publish the projects to their own directories, rather than merging them.Any clues as to which file(s) I should look a
i'm currently developing output for Sharepoint and looking at using the Responsive output option. The only issue is when I publish a Multscreen output, and upload it into Sharepoint, and open the sharepoint multiscreen output it opens up within the sharepoint screen.BUT, if I publish a Responsive output, and once again upload the files into Sharepoint, and then open the index file, it opens it opens in a full browser view, not sitting in the Sharepoint screen. Is there a way to change it so it sits within the sharepoint screen? Thanks, Simone
I have a lot of image files that need to move them to a ScreenShot folder in the Project Manger, but I can't select multiple files with the Shift key for example and need to move them one by one? Is there an easier way?
Hi,Can someone show me where a list of releases/patches for RH and the release notes would be?I am current on the version of RH released, but I would like to find out when the last patch was applied and what it covered. I searched everywhere but must have missed this important information.thank you!
do we have a patch to remove cross site scripting issue from webhelp made using robohelp 9? The issue is robohelp 9 is not available and i am using robohelp 11. Any patches for that ? thanks.
Hi,I was doing some testing for TOC display errors I've been having in Chrome:WebHelp generated from RH11 has empty navigation panes when viewed in IE8, 10, 11, and Chrome. Any solution other than g…The TOC navigation pane is sometimes blank when viewing my own project in Chrome, locally, and usually, doesn't even display the first time I launch my project by clicking on the index file. If I click on my table of contents button, the TOC displays. I tested a sample project and I found these issues with Chrome:Project; SalesBuilder 2, webhelp. No changes were made to the sample.1. Search doesn't work unless I refresh the browser and it occasionally displays ,but sometimes doesn't display even when I refresh the browser. (by doesn't work I mean clicking on the search button does nothing!) 2. Repeatedly switching between content categories causes the navigation pane to suddenly be blank.3. When search doesn't display, it's almost always followed by an empty na
I have a publication that is made up of various sections embedded into other sections. The publication was generated from an .hhp file inherited from Help and Manual. I would like to turn some of these sections into child projects while retaining all of the existing links amongst the projects. Below is a sample of the publication structure for the purpose of illustrating this discussion. (For example, I would like to turn the section titled "What is System Five" into a child project). Any help would be much appreciated. I am working in RH11. Thanks!Gabriela
Actually have a couple of issues. We have a number of projects with lot of outside links so I found out that if I import instead of just converting everything looks fine. Takes a little more time because the TOC and Index have to be set up and all the topics need to be imported but the Webhelp output looks fine. This method works with all the projects but one. The problem project has spreadsheets that have to be made in excel and updated in alpha order a couple of times a month..on top of that it has lots, and I mean a huge amount of external links (over 100,000). First, I can't import it each topic in HTML....it locks up RH. I tried converting the HTML doc back to word and that locked up too. So first issue is how am I going to get the project from RH Word to RH HTML without causing RH to stop responding for hours. I know it is because of all the links. Some topics are 25 pages long and a few thousand links. Next, even
Hello,I am trying to create a merged help in RH 11. I am able to add the .chm child project to the master project (see snippet below). However, when I generate the master project, the child does not show. Is there an extra step after adding the .chm file to the master to allow the child to be viewed in the output? If yes, what is that step and how is it done? Thanks.(I should probably add that I have looked at Peter's recommendations re: setting up the merge (Merging WebHelp - RoboHelp 9 and 10). I am not sure, but from reading the instructions I suspect that the step I am missing is generating the .chm file. I am not sure how this is done. If this is indeed the step that I'm missing, please explain how to generate the .chm file after adding it to the master.)
I am using Robohelp 9, but will be migrating to RH11. In both cases, when I navigate in Robohelp to the folder that contains my Robohelp project, I can see folders, but the files in the project do not appear. The files do appear for one of my associates on her computer. Also, the various RH projects do not appear as they do on hers.
