I have been struggling with the Table Style of my CSS for quite awhile now. I am hoping the RoboHelp Community can help me resolve my final issue. I've created a table with all 1px lines, but my top row keeps doubling up the rows. It doesn't seem like any changes to vertical lines for the top row impact it positively. Please let m know if you've had additional problems. I'm including the table shot and code for the CSS.Thanks in advance for your help!table.table_template { padding: 0px; border-top: Solid 1px #000000; border-left: Solid 1px #000000; x-border-spacing: 0px; x-row-pat-1: 1; x-row-pat-1-name: t1Row; x-row-pat-count: 2; x-row-pat-2: 1; x-row-pat-2-name: t2Row; x-1st-row: 1; x-1st-row-name: t1st; x-1st-col: 1; x-1st-col-name: t1st; border-bottom-style: Solid; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-bottom-color: #000000; border-right-style: Solid; border-right-width: 0px;
Once open a time, I generated WebHelp, uploaded it to our company site, dubbed it a noble Knowledgebase, and there it sat, accessible to all. It was the Best Beloved of people desirous of viewing Help via Google Translate. And so, the years passed, and the poor WebHelp Knowledgebase was forgotten and fell into disuse. Even the Fairy DocMomma (that would be me) ignored it.It was rediscovered by an intrepid explorer. And it was decreed that the Fairy DocMamma would wave her magic wand and update Knowledgebase in renewed glory....THUNK!!! You hear that?!!! That is the sound of the Fairy DocMomma's headdesk: THUNK THUNNK!!!So, RoboKnights--what do you recommend? What is the best, most foolproof method and format for putting Help on the Web?What dragons might rear up and bite the DocMomma in areas not mentioned in publick support forums...?Using RoboHelp 10, updated + patched.I actually generated an AIR output, and had it uploaded...just AIR, not the AIR for browser...and it seems to be OK. Hi,I am using RoboHelp 10 and publishing using FlashHelp Pro.I am entering the Output Folder and Start Page name as shown below:The project is compiling as follows:vizbybis2.htm is being added as the start page and I can not find where to change it. vizbybis2 is the orginal name of the project.Thank you in advance!
Hello,I am using RoboHelp HTML version 11.0.3 and have just finished my second help project, which I need to publish in Responsive HTML5 format. I had already published one project for some new software designed to run on iOS devices using the Responsive HTML5 format for that as well. Despite some issues with the Theme1 screen layout being corrupted, which I was able to resolve by importing another screen layout, I was able to get that project released. When I compiled this latest project, however, I get several errors stating that "The Search Results widget is not allowed in the Topic Screen layout page. No Search Result layout page is present in the screen layout - the search textbox will not work as expected."Long story short, when the project is compiled and I view the result, there is no search control to open a search page see first image below). Instead a search field is displayed at the bottom of the initial page (see second image) and sure enough, if I enter a term in there an
I am trying to work on a topic, but RH 10 is "flickering"... the lower right hand corner status (at the very bottom of the PM pane) is flickering between "Pagination" and "Displaying". The font and font size is flickering, and the Paragraph and Character Styles pod list is flickering from "Normal" thru the list and then back to "Normal" in a split second. I cannot work in the topic...This seems to be happening no matter what topics I'm in... as well as if I create a new topic.I did some PM organization of images and topics... and it was fine until then. I have made all the updates I can find, restarted my system, uninstalled and reinstalled RH and reapplied the updates. What the heck is going on? HELP!
What I want to do in Robohelp seems like it should be possible but I cannot seem to figure out how to do it. I have a single project file that contains multiple folders, one for each application in a suite of related applications. Currently in webhelp there is one file called index.htm that contains the index for all folders in the project. I need this, but I also need an additional .htm file in webhelp that contains the index for a single folder of my project. Why do I need this? I want my users who are using one of my applications to be able to view an index file just for that application, not for all applications of the software suite. How can I do this in robohelp? If this cannot be done then this is a serious limitation of Robohelp. And please don't tell me I need to make one project file per application in order to accomplish this.
RH11 Webhelp Chrome browserFirst, thanks to Peter Grange for his topic on conditional text in tables. This problem doesn't seem to be there, so thanks for help. The terms in my table (such as "Print button") are dhtml drop-downs to which I want to assign multiple conditions. Assigning one condition and generating for the condition displays the term correctly in the generated webhelp.Assigning multiple conditions and generating for the conditions causes the term to not display at all. Is this a dhtml limitation?
Hello,we have been working with RoboHelp and SVN for several years now. We manually check in projects out of Robohelp. As only one author works with one project at a certain time, we don’t have any problems. But now we have only one RoboHelp project and 4-5 authors working with this project, so we have to change our working method.I would like to integrate RoboHelp with SVN using PushOk plugin as described here:http://www.adobe.com/devnet/robohelp/articles/robohelp_subversion.htmlBut I’m worried because we will be dependent on a third party (PushOk Software). It seems they have not provided any updates for a while now. What do you think? Would you recommend using PushOk plugin and SVN? Or would you recommend another method or another version control system?I look forward to learning of your experiences. Thank youMelanie
I receive an AppCrash error saying "Adobe RoboHelp 11 has stopped working" every time I try to insert the See Also or Related Topics button in a webhelp topic. I am using RH 11 version and Windows 7 OS. I have been using this feature before. Experienced this issue for the first time. Any idea why?
When printing a responsive layout from RoboHelp 11.0.3 in Internet Explorer 11 the PDF just shows the title, first line or two and scroll bars, see image. The pages print normally from both Chrome and Firefox. We have checked and this seems to occur with a brand new project straight out of the box.Any ideas how to get round this would be great appreciated.
Good day everyone,For the last few years, my company has been working towards single-sourcing the documentation we create (e.g. user manuals and integrated program help) for all of our products. We have one big product and quite a few smaller products, with each one having its own user manual and integrated help. We use Adobe FrameMaker 11 and RoboHelp 10 to create and manage the content for our user manuals and integrated help respectively. We also use Perforce P4V for version control. Content typically is authored in FrameMaker first before being exported into RoboHelp as a .book file, which is then used to build our integrated help system.Currently, half of our smaller products are single-sourced while the rest are curated by hand. We'd eventually like to have all of our products be single-sourced. However, even with the products that are already single-sourced, we're having some issues with how our authoring software interacts with our version-control software. We
In my project, I have few topics that contains the hyperlinks of approximately 10 topics. Now, I drag individual page from the TOC to the topic page to create automatic hyperlink. However, I want to select multiple pages in the TOC and drag them at once to create appropriate hyperlinks at once. This will save my time in creating various links.Charudatta M.
We are finding that sometimes "breadcrumbs" used in our RH11 help project do not show the entire path we took to get to the current topic. I am guessing RH11 uses "location-based" not "path-based" breadcrumbs. This would mean in RH11 help projects, we would only see where the current topic is stored in a TOC or project hierarchy, not a trail of steps taken to arrive at a particular topic or page. Am I correct in this assumption?
Hi There,I'm a new RoboHelp user, and whenever I generate my layout I don't see any of the toolbar content (Contents, Index, Search) in the IE window that shows the help.I have chosen the TOC I created from the list in the layout properties window.Any suggestions?
I am trying to use contextual help with a merged help project. I use RH11. My help project SSL is Microsoft HTML Help. I find no way to get the contextual help to work for topics inside the children projects. Either I can display the topic but the TOC does not follow, or it is the other way round....
I am using Robohelp10. We use glossary terms in some of our html help pages. When I am opening the pages in IE10, some of the terms get expanded while some others dont. What might be the problem?
I want to know if it is possible to change the folder location in the hyperlink address of all the links in all the topics in the project at once. I have one project at particular location with hyperlinks created from a particular location. Now, my client asked me to create the same project from scratch and reply the hyperlinks. Here, I have created the project in a new folder. However, I have to manually check each and every hyperlink in the topics and update the hyperlink according to the new folder. Is it possible to do it once? -Charudatta M.
I am generating an html user manual using Robohelp. Now, we are trying to generate localized versions of the same manual. We sent my original files to the translation agency and received localized versions of the html pages. However, the agency did not generate the entire help file. In order to generate a localized help with localized skins, index, TOC etc, I generated a copy of my entire user manual folder and have replaced my original html files and associated images generated by Robohelp with the localized files and images. The names of the files remain the same in all languages. For the most part, this strategy worked when I opened up the project in Robohelp. In the designer view, I am able to view and edit the localized files. I did have a number of issues that I was able to resolve by directly editing the files. I have changed the project and topic settings to the language of interest and have been able to generate a localized skin, TOC, index etc. The only issue is that some of
So our marketing department really wants to customize the skin of the new webhelp to match our new product design and color scheme... some of the skins in the gallery are close, but not close enough. I know how to change the icons and buttons, etc. But theyw ant to be able to change the "bars" or "sections that appear as background to the icons and buttons. I cannot find any way to change those. I don't see anything in the help for RH 10 except how to change icons, buttons, etc... but nothing about changing the background.I have attached a screen cap of one of the skins to show the area to which I'm referring that needs to be changed. Thanks,kb
I have created an Image Map which includes hyperlinks to display in frame and also in auto-sizing popups. These links work correctly if the topic is opened from the table of contents but if the topic is opened from a link within another topic the image map links don't work: when the display in frame link is clicked no message is displayed and the topic closes; when the popup link is clicked the following Script Error is displayed: The helpfile was created in an earlier version of Robohelp, version 7 I think, and I have now upgraded to Robohelp 11. In the previous version the popup links in the image map also did not work but the display in frame links did. I’ve tried creating a new helpfile using Robohelp 11 and both links work correctly. I read a previous post about ‘popups not auto-sizing’ and wondered if the following fix would resolve my issue but it didn’t have any effect: After investigation we found out that the issue was w
My developers want to know if Bootstrap (http://getbootstrap.com/css/) was used in the development of the Responsive HTML5 layout. The answer may determine whether we upgrade to version 11. Does anyone know?
I have been using RoboHelp - currently RoboHelp 11 - for many years now. For some unknown reason, suddenly now my CHM files are displaying NOT according to my CSS stylesheet, which has not changed recently. Fonts and styles are completely different than CSS specifications, and my images are not getting pulled into the CHM output (just showing placeholders). I checked the stylesheet, and it still has the same font as we've had, which is Arial - the CHM is showing Times New Roman..I am running Windows 7 Professional, by the way, with my RoboHelp 11..Also the CHM is showing up correctly for the other users here. SO I'm suspecting there's something corrupted in my environment locally, my local install. Could it be the HH.EXE that's corrupt? Which source file should I look for, and I'm assuming it's within my Adobe > RoboHelp directory.I would appreciate any help for where I should look and ideas about what I should do.Also, note that my WebHelp output is fi
Hello members,Any help will be much appreciated.Platform: Win 7, RH 11, Word 2013 however, using an existing Word Template that was created in Word 2007.HISTORY: Six months ago, an upgrade of RH8 to RH11 took place (smooth, no issues reported). Please note, I have no "easy" way to verify if there was a problem in RH8 (all projects are upgraded, and old builds are backed up on IT server). There are existing Styles created in RH and in the Word Template (e.g., Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3, Normal, normal_bold, etc.). These existing Styles have no mapping issues hence, RH CSS recognizes their corresponding Word Styles.ISSUE: RH11 CSS does not recognize New RH Styles and Word Styles. NOTE: Styles are the same type. “For example, character to character, paragraph to paragraph, table to table, and multi-level list to multi-level list” (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/robohelp/robohtml/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d11aff59c2a0-7ee4.html#WS21E2B5E4-C4AC-47b2-9D4B-D548EA9E3C04).Things Tried:Converted
I'm attempting (failing) to publish my Help project to an assigned virtual directory: "publicaccessnow.com" with user id "taxhelp" and a verified password. I've attempted a few field variations based on some previous suggestions in this community thread, all with no success. I opened the Edit Destination window in RH 10 and completed the following fields: Descriptive Name = "publicaccessnow.com" Connection Protocol = "FTP" Host Name = "http://publicaccessnow.com" Port = "21" User ID = "taxhelp" Password = [password] Server Directory = "/taxhelp" I also tried leaving the server directory blank and entering "2021" in the Port field. Anyone see any obvious mistakes? Thanks for your help! Chad from Thomson Reuters
