I followed the steps on Robohelp's help page and watched the video on how to generate a native mobile app. However, when I try to generate the app, it says: Error: "Unable to update the Android app project. Verify the Android SDK/JDK paths and refer to the output log."OK, I've tried to check the paths, but can't tell why they are wrong if they are wrong. I can see that I could have done many things wrong but don't know where to start.Any ideas?I'm a long-term user of Robohelp, but this is new to me. I've also started work for a new company that likes the idea of apps. I'm currently using the trial version of Robohelp and getting this to work smoothly would be a big incentive for my company to buy the software. Thanks in advance.
I am trying to import a Word document to RoboHelp, but my topics are getting bookmarked instead of being divided into individual topics. Can anyone tell me where I can find a detailed explanation of how to solve this issue? I am considering getting rid of Author-IT and adopting RoboHelp, but this would depend on RoboHelp's ability to import my word documents. I've been trying different solutions mentioned in the Help, but nothing seems to work. Thanks in advance.Iris
We're just upgrading to Robohelp 11 from RH9 and need some help with the following process.I'm currently working on a project where the project manager wants the PDFs auto generated out of RH totally finished. What I mean by this is that when RH generates a PDF, the PDF already has the formatted footer/headers and tables (i.e., the header rows repeat when the table spans page breaks), the correct paragraph styles, and the cover as required by the company standards. Currently, we have to format the docs manually using the following steps:generate a Word docattach the correct style template to the Word docInsert the formatted headers/footers in the Wordadjust the Word doc page layoutTables - Format the table properties to repeat the header row when the tables span page breaks and fix the table cell border to all have the same colorGenerate a PDFIn Adobe Acrobat, insert the cover PDF into the newly generated doc PDF.Am I missing a simple way to generate PDFs with the cover & styles th
I am trying some reorganization in a project and wondered if anyone has a simple way to move masses of topics into subfolders in the Project Files list. The Topic List pod is, I think, the only list that allows bulk operations but it doesn't support moving files around. The Project Files list in Project Manager pod seems to only support dragging one file at a time into a sub folder. Sigh. Do I need to grin and bear it?
I have a merged project that I use the same images in several topics in different projects. I use the resource manager but each time these images are being copied into each project. My merged project is getting so large it is taking forever to download. I hope I'm just missing a step to eliminate the redundant usage of these images.
For RoboHelp HTML 10 output, I have set the single source layout to use my custom glossary. However, it does not display in the .chm file. Is there some sort of plug-in required on my computer to display glossaries?
Hi all. Below is my initial wish list for new features in RoboHelp 12. Feel free to comment/contribute. At some point I'll forward a list to Adobe and/or add some of them suggestions via the official suggestions page.Note that I've been a FrameMaker (unstructured) user for years, so a lot of my questions a features I miss in the FM world. When making links, have option to make them dynamic, so that the link text is an attribute of the target, such as step number or heading text. (Like ParaText and ParaNum in FM.) When those are updated, so is the link text. This feature would make maintaining a lot of areas much easier. For a "ParaNum" example, say you have this (blue text are links): a. Do something. b. If something is not installed already, do these substeps, otherwise, skip to step c. 1) Substep. 2) Substep.
I generated Webhelp output from RoboHelp 10.When I open the Webhelp output in IE 10, the Table of Contents appears (see attached). When I open the Webhelp output in IE 11, the Table of Contents is blank (see attached). What can I do to fix this issue?
TCS5 | Windows 8.1My laptop's been rebuilt, so I've installed TCS5 and then re-installed TCS4. However, because I've done it in this order RoboHelp projects are defaulting to RH10 when opened, as opposed to RH11. I've tried changing the association through the usual "Open with" option, but it doesn't make any difference. Is there a way I can force projects to open in RH11 by default without having to uninstall everything and starting again?ThanksJonathan
I have RH10 projects that are manually committed to SVN. I will be upgrading to RH11 soon and am purchasing the PushOK SVN CSS plug-in to handle source control integration from within RH. However, will projects that are already committed to SVN be able to do this automatically? Should I do this integration before I install RH11 and upgrade the projects? I am just not sure of the order I should follow or any special things I need to do.
I generated WebHelp this morning and all screenshots were displaying correctly. A few hours later, I generated WebHelp again and all screenshots have been replaced with the fractured icon in Chrome. Can anyone advise please?
This is really weird. Moved robohelp to windows 7. Opened a topic and noticed that my images in design view are backwards. It is like looking in a mirror. When I compile and view the topic everything is fine. This doesnt happen on xp machine. Any ideas? Please help.
Hi, our RoboSource Control server was offline for a few hours, so I worked offline in several projects. In one of those, I most have clicked "Do not try to reconnect in the future" (or whatever that option was), because now there's no connection. Can someone please tell me how to reconnect the project to the files that already exist in RoboSource? I don't want to add the whole thing again....(Not that I think it makes any difference but I'm still using RH8 and RoboSource 3.1.)Thanks!
Our RB 10 out put is not showing up in the IE10 browser. It opens fine, however, when clicked on the Index or Glossary Tab, the Contents tab does not show the right pane at all. It is all blank. I tried replacing the whtbar and whskinfrm01 files from one of the patches that I found. It gets worst after I replace them.Kindly help.
I'm generating HTML help from RoboHelp 9, and when I click Contents, Index, and Search, the left navigation pane is blank, and I cannot search. The start page does appear, and I can navigate to topics from hyperlinks in that page.As of last week, this issue only occurred when viewing help in IE 11, but it is now occurring when I view help from IE, Chrome, and Firefox. Last Friday while it was still not working when I viewed my local copy, I tried uploading it and viewing it on IE11 from the Web, and it worked a bit better. I'm viewing it from the Web now and it's not working.Does anyone have advice for this problem?
I'm using RoboHelp 9.0.271.I consider myself relatively well-versed in localization issues when it comes to generating an html help (chm) from RoboHelp, but this one has me stumped. In the Russian version of our main help file, the Glossary tab has strange ASCII characters in place of expected Russian characters when the help file is viewed on an 32-bit system, like this:But notice RH's Glossary pod in the RH UI in the above capture. It displays the correct characters.Similarly, if it's viewed on a 64-bit system, it displays the Russian characters properly. My system locale setting in Control Panel's language settings is properly set to Russian. My .glo file when viewed in NotePad has its encoding set to UTF-8 (though I tried ASCII to no avail). My language settings in RH are set to Russian at the project level and at the single source layout level. My .hhp file has these glossary-related settings:[OPTIONS]...Custom tab="&Glossary", HHActiveX.GlossaryPane[WINDOWS]HtmlHelp="Файл справки
Various topics are missing and I cannot create new topics in the TOC. I'm using RoboHelp 7.
I have several procedures that use the same steps as part of the procedure to create something. I would love to use a snippet for these common steps. However, when I try to create a snippet of these numbered steps and then reuse them in the procedure list, the snippet step numbers all say 1 instead of picking up with the next available number in the existing list. For example, my list in the topic has steps 1-3. My snippet contains the remaining steps - which should be number 4-12. How can make this happen?
My previous project version was able to dislplay .swf files inside an html file at 100%. Now it displays them at about 20% regardless of what % the hight and width are set at, unless actual pixel dimensions are entered.
Hello everybody,I am using RoboHelp HTML 11 and I have a question regarding the use of multilevel lists in indented text. The main text in my topics is indented by 122.7px in order to leave enough space for text boxes that summarize the main text parts in the left margin. Now I want to create a multilevel list style so that I can use these lists in the indented main text. Therefore, I created a paragraph style "List_Style" which includes the indention of the main text (122.7px). Then I created a new multilevel list style in which each list level is based on the "List_Style" paragraph style. In my understanding the indention should be adopted from the "List_Style" style but unfortunately it doesn't. Can anybody please tell me why and what I have to do to make this work? Best,Mr. FoxPS: My output will be HTML5 Responsive Layout and Printed Documentation and I created all styles I am using in RoboHelp.
We recently updated some help topics for our web portal and published the updated help system to our QA environment.Users running Internet Explorer 8 cannot see the updated content in the help topics. They can see the help topics and navigating the help system with no problems--they just can't see the updated content inside the affected topics. We've had users change their Compatibility View settings and clear their browser's cache, but those steps have not solved the problem. Has anyone encountered this problem or have a suggestion on how to resolve it?Thanks!RoboHelp Version: 10.0.0.287Output: WebHelp
Not sure if this is the correct forum - feel free to move it where you will Peter!I am writing help for a web-based Java application that will be used on desktops and tablets. Has anyone used version 11 to produce tablet output that will be linked to an application (that is, not standalone ebooks or other options).
We have a project that we recently upgraded from Robohelp 8 to RoboHelp 11. We decided to generate Responsive HTML5 output for the project. It is a multi-language project as well. We support 19 languages. Each topic file has text in it in each of the languages and marked with a conditional build tag for each language. We have a TOC and Glossary file for each language. When I generate each language's help file and then view it in a browser, the the English TOC seems to work fine. You can click on folders and sub-folders and topics within the sub-folders and it seems to keep the TOC in sync with the topic I am viewing. But if I view one of the language help files, say German or Danish, when I click around in the TOC, the topics I click on show up in the right pane, but the focus in the TOC pane is not highlighting the selected topic. It seems like the focus has moved to something else, though nothing is highlighted. I am confuse
I've been trying out the new Headers and Footers feature in RH11 for printed documentation. When you create a master page to use as a basis for your header or footer there is are several buttons that appear on a toolbar when you view the header or footer for the master page. The buttons allow you to switch between header and footer, insert page numbers, and to insert the chapter name. When you insert the chapter name, the following HTML code is added to the master page:<?rh-variable_start name="pd-chap-name" value="<<PD Chapter Name>>" ?><<PD Chapter Name>><?rh-variable_end ?> When you generate your Word document this variable is converted into the Word StyleRef field code {STYLEREF "Heading 1"\*MERGEFORMAT} and added to the header or footer, so the header or footer will display the next Heading 1 in your document. Unfortunately you don't seem to be able to use any other variables apart fr
