Yesterday, I installed a trial of Robohelp 11 on my personal Windows 7x64 machine in an attempt to learn the program for a potential job. Fresh install and when I opened the program, it immediately closes. No error message. I have spent probably 3 hours troubleshooting on my own and 45 min chatting with Adobe support. So far, no resolution. It is completely baffling me. My userid on the computer is in the Administrators group, and I have no problems installing other software. This is all that has been done troubleshooting:1) I have changed the shortcut properties to run as Administrator (Shortcut tab-Advanced-Run as Administrator and Compatibility tab - Run this Program as an Administrator) as well as right clicking on the shortcut and choosing Run as Administrator. 2) I have tried running in compatibility mode as XP with SP2 and 3.3) I have completely uninstalled the program, downloaded it again, and reinstalled.4) I have looked in Event
Hi,I'm trying RH10 on a Win 8 x64 system, trying to get the generate for mobile devices, Android to work. I've installed the Android SDK (part of the complete ADT) in a "Development" folder in the C drive, installed JDK for Win 64, added the PhoneGap and ANT unzipped folders to the "Development" folder and then in the RH10 dialog to generate the Android APK, I've pointed set the correct paths to these tools. (All installed tools are correct for my OS, Win 8 x64.)No matter what I try, using a sample file (EmployeeCare, Salesbuilder), I get an error message at the very end of the build process. Please see the screenshot showing the error message and the relevant part of the log which looks like the ANT path is not working correctly. The build fails every time. I've tried to do some troubleshooting online and for example, came across setting the environment variables for the ANT folder, which I did, but with no
I Work From Home (WFH) a couple times a week and am working in RH with one other writer and we are tracking our changes in SC. Since the network is really slow, I thought I could work on the topics offline and then check them in when I go into the office, however, whenever i make a change to a topic, I get an error box like this:I can't make any changes to any topics or snippets, and I've checked my rights as a SC user -- I have all rights. I've also tried checking out files but no can do. I thought I was able to do this offline when WFH. Is there another setting I'm missing? I've looked in the Help and there's not much about working with topics offline, so I'm really not sure what my restrictions are.

Is anyone else experiencing the issue of RH 10 not saving new glossary terms?
I have updated a .hpj RH 8 project to RH 11 html but I am having a lot of trouble with most of the links. For example, most of the links in my Table of Contents, in the Index and in the topics themselves do not work.... I have looked on the forum but haven't found anyone yet with the same problem.. Thanks so much for your help!
when i create a topic and generate as webhelp, i am able to view the topic, but when i open the SSL Folder and try to view the change is not getting displayed....
I have recently updated my project file with DUCC concept using the trial version of Robohelp 10. After generating the project, I have submitted the webhelp for hosting. When the concerned person tried to host the webhelp folder to the server, it is indicating that the whproxy.js file is missing, though it exists in the hosted webhelp folder. Please help me out with this.
Whenever I attempt to take an action that requires the Windows "open" dialog, RoboHelp starts to hang and eventually crashes. My only thought: I've seen other .NET applications have issues like this where the framework steals window focus from the Windows dialog. Could this be happening here?Has anyone ever seen anything like this? Any ideas? Many thanks!
I have customised my skin with buttons (e.g. print, show all, hide all) in RH10. These are visible when I generate. When I publish to RH9 server the only buttons visible are the default. Contents, Search, Index and Glossary. Can anyone help me.
I am a techie, and I am at a complete loss for what is happening. I am trying to install a trial version of Adobe Robohelp 11. I have tried installing it on a Windows 7 (64bit) and on Mac OS Mavericks. On both OS's, i get to the point of the install where you click the Install Now button and then a pop-up comes up asking if you want to Cancel or Open. I click Open...and nothing happens. Again, I've tried it on two OSs and tried Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. They all behave the same. Any ideas what is happening? I have very little hair left.
When creating a Printed Pocumentation layout, RoboHelp 11 won't allow me to map RoboHelp styles to styles in my Word template that are defined as Linked styles. What's a Linked style in Word? A horrible feature in Word that allows styles to be defined as "Linked" which means that they can be applied either as a character style or a paragraph style in Word depending on the context you apply them. You can see which styles in Word are defined as Linked because they have both the paragraph symbol and the character style displayed next to them in the Word style pane. The problem is that most of Word's built in styles, like Body Text, Footer, etc are Linked styles. And no you can't change this and change the style back to a simple paragraph style. You can't even do this with VBA. Once a Linked style, always a Linked style it seems. This means I cannot map a RoboHelp style called BodyText to the Word style Body Text for example, like I used to in RoboHelp 10. When I try to map RoboHelp styles i
Hi,I get an error " The graphics filter was unable to convert this file ....xx. htm" while generating word document.I repaired microsoft office suite 2010, but again I get the same error.Kindly help me.Regards,Nalini
I am using RoboHelp 10 with the latest WebHelp fix.I copied the files in the fix to the specified folder in the instructions, regenerated the Help, and tested my WebHelp on IE 8-11.When viewed locally, the WebHelp output seems fine. The Help is accessed by our users from a web server, so I put up the newly generated output on our web server and tested the output and this is what I found:IE 8: Index and Glossary take 3-4 seconds to load, which i guess i okay.IE 9: Index and Glossary take 3-4 second to load. Index entries are too big and use a different font.IE 10: When you click a topic in the Search pane, you get a blank page. When you click an entry in the Index you get a blank page. After using the Index/Search and then go back to the Contents page, you get a blank page.IE 11: Index entries are cut offHas anyone else run into these issue? I can live with the issues on IE 8/9/11, but the blank pages on IE 10 are unacceptable. Does the fix not resolve these issues or am I doing somethin
I'm trying to design a custom robohelp skin. However, I'm seeing a repeating logo, as shown below. It appears to be repeating below the line that separates the top area from the rest of the panel. Does anyone have any idea what's going on here and how I can stop the second image?Note that the image is also duplicated at the far right of the top area, so its repeating horizontally and vertically.Note: I apologize if this has been asked already. I can't seem to find the search window in the forum UI any more. If you can help here too, I'd appreciated it.
It will be really great if you could help me with my query. I am using Robohelp 8. I have created a topic page and linked a pdf file to it as a bagge file so that when one clicks the topic in the TOC, the pdf file opens. When I generate the output, the pdf is opening in IE 8, 9. However, the pdf is not opening in IE 10. Please suggest a solution.
My entire robohelp project paragraph indent has shaken. I cannot see first line of my paragraph. It has gone in left alignment and half hidden. Now I am aligning every paragraph one by one, there are 500 pages. Is there any way I can fix this problem in few clicks.
After accessing my HTML Help files from an application, the text "Empty Chapter" appears in the Help tab. (See the attached screen shot.)The Help is built by linking FrameMaker 11 files to RoboHelp 10."Empty Chapter" does not appear in the original FrameMaker files, nor in the RoboHelp files: I checked both the WISIWIG and HTML views. As well, the correct text appears in the <title> tag.The app calls the Help content through context IDs.Any ideas why "Empty Chapter" is appearing in the tabs?
RH 9.0.2.271Windows 7 64-bitThis "Object doesn't support property or method 'Activate' ehlpdhtm.js error all of a sudden started popping up when I view any of the chms I build from my file system. I initially through it was a 64-bit problem because if I view the chm from my file system I get the script error. But if I copy it to a 32-bit PC or run it from within RH (after it's compiled for example) or a 32-bit version of our software, it runs fine. (However, one of my co-workers tried it on her 64-bit machine and didn't receive any error.) In any case, it seems to be happening on my machine only.Anyway, it's not on every topic, but on every one that calls the ehlpdhtm.js script with this line of code, it appears to be happening:<script src="ehlpdhtm.js" type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript1.2"></script>I don't think hhactivex.dll plays with this js at all, but just in case, I unregistred and re-registered that dll to no effect. I also tried explicitly adding in ehlpd
Hi,I have done the following in robohelp 11 from Adobe Technical Communication Suite 51) select file|new|project2) select import tab3) Select the FrameMaker Documents option iconThis works quit well. I get a new RoboHelp project.I would like to do the same via a RoboHelp extendScript but I can't get it to work.Does anyone have some hints or good exampels to be inspired from? Thanks Alex
My developers were curious about how RoboHelp HTML outputs run searches. They noticed that a search for a plural word, such as "lists," returned both singular and plural versions of the word. In other words, it returned both "lists" and "list."These results are consistent for all words ending in "s."The developers are concerned that users are getting too broad of search results returned. Is this by design?
Hard drive crash and need a copy of RoboHelp version 9. Can I get a copy?
It's possible to create a preloader with percentage of loading? Thanks.
Our company is planning to upgrade the RH that we are using due to the issue on Chrome browser not displaying the TOC and search function not working. We have been using Robohelp for Word in version 6. I know it's outdated but it was working for us and as they say "if ain't broke don't fix it" or some such things. The chrome related issue might have been there for a long time but it just came into out attention recently.I am trial testing RH 11 and my main issue is the link in TOCs to most of the topics are missing. I've posted 2 discussion but not fixed yet.Can anyone please advise the best way to tackle this scenario? Do I convert the Word to HTML in RH 6 first before upgrading to RH 11? Is there a list of task to do to prepare my projects in the upgrade to RH 11? Any help would be highly appreciated.
We display our help on a touch screen PC. Is it possible to run the on screen keyboard to enable a search string to be manually entered on the Search page?Any guidance would be appreciated, including alternatives.RegardsMikeL
