Caveat: I'm a very new RoboHelp users, somewhat self-taught, so my questions may be very rudamentary, but I can't quite find them in the (very meager) Adobe help.In a previous version of the Help (created by my predecessor), the local Help (.chm) looked like this, i.e., no skins:The online Help looked like this--i.e., it had the skin:First question: why doesn't the local help have the skin? Is this a setting?Second question: In a newer version of the help that I created, both versions of help look like the local Help above--no skins.  How do I make the skins display?Third question: We localized to French. When I open FR online Help and right-click a help topic (to open in a new tab) the page displays as below, with the "Montrer" standing in for what is "< Show Contents" in English (see below). This content is incorrect in French, and should be "Afficher le sommaire" ("Show Summary").  Where do I find the source for this piece of content, so that I can correct it?  I'v

My remote access Help TOC (and there for, help in general) gives display errors in IE11 on Windows 8 platform. First time you access Help, it displays.  The second time, it gives a script error; the third time a blank page.  Anyone else seeing this?  Suggested fixes/workarounds?

My department is upgrading two of seven RBH 9 licenses. If I open a RBH 9 project, does it convert it so those still on 9 can't open it?

HiPlease can someone help?I am trying to generate a PDF version of our Robohelp file (in Robohelp 10) for users to download (the file is a Help file for our software).However, when I generate this via the 'Printed Documentation' option in Single Source Layouts, whether as PDF or Word doc, it only generates a two page document with the Printed Documentation Name on the first page, and 'No table of contents entries found' printed on the second.The file was imported from an earlier version of Robohelp, if that helps.Many thanks in advance for your help.Dan Wait

Using RoboHelp 11, I click on Help\Contents & Index in the RoboHelp IDE and I am sent the "Adobe Communities" site. I sign in and search for RoboHelp and get no results. I scroll down and find the Forums link so here I am. Is there no actual online help for RoboHelp? Kind of mind boggling since this software is for creating online help!

I see how to disable the Options button, but I don't want to do that. I only need to disable the Internet Options menu item. Can anyone tell me how to do that?This is required by several of our customers. Thank you.

HELP!When I import a CSS into RoboHelp 11 and then try to map FM12 paragraph styles to the selectors in the CSS, RoboHelp can't seem to see the styles in the CSS. Here's a very simple example from the CSS I'm using to test: .Heading1{ font-size:1.75em;       margin-bottom: .4em;      font-family:AvenirHeavy;       color:#f00;} .Heading2{ font-size:1.5em;       margin-bottom: .4em;      font-family:AvenirHeavy;      color:#f00;} .Heading3{ font-size:1.2em;      margin-bottom: .4em;      font-family:AvenirHeavy;color:#f00;  }.Heading4{ font-size:1em;     margin-bottom: .4em;      font-family:AvenirHeavy;     color:#f00;}The FM para tags are Heading 1, Heading 2, etc., but I can't map them because I can't see the styles in the CSS. HELP!

I am using RH10 to generate webhelp output and I have the following issues on ipad:1) For chrome browser when clicking on search icon, there's no input field and search button; it looks similar to search function if "Section 508 compliant output" check box is checked when generating the output.  I was able to fix it by replacing the following codes in the generated files (ehlpdhtm.js & whver.js)Replacing var gbChrome             = (gstrBsAgent.indexOf('chrome')!=-1);withvar gbChrome             = (gstrBsAgent.indexOf('chrome')!=-1) || (gstrBsAgent.indexOf('crios')!=-1) ;2) Even though I was able to make this simple fix, the search function still have problems on both sarafi and chrome on ipad.  After issuing a search on a keyword, the result is displayed in the result pane but because the content is long it displays in one single line (On desktop browser

Are there any compatibility issues with doing this?   I have some Robohelp 7 files to work with and am wondering if I should upgrade to Robohelp 11.   Thanks!

Hi,We are using FM12 and RH HTML 11. We recently upgraded from TCS 4 to TCS 5.We would like to dynamically link our FM books in RH. However, the option is greyed out. We encountered the problem with TCS 4, so I don’t think it is related to the upgrade. Any suggestions you have as to how to activate this option would be greatly appreciated.

Is RoboHelp 9 compatible with Office 2013?

When trying to generate a help output, RH keeps showing a message box: "Your project contains tracked changes. Do you want to continue?"How can I find what topics have the tracked changes? I don't see it as one of the reports and the track changes toolbar doesn't have anything either.I'm using the latest RH 9.

Hello,I have a custom 404 "file not found" page that I use in web-based help outputs. I would like to be able to use it in compiled .chm help. Does anyone have experience with this? Or is it not possible?The scenario is that we have several related .chm files. All clients will have the help file for the base product but may or may not have the other help files, since those products require special licensing. We'd like to link the .chms. In old WinHelp days this would be easily done through the .cnt file, and clients just wouldn't see the external links in the .cnt if they didn't have the help system. But since I can't link the .chm help systems in this scenario without possibly having broken links, I'd like the broken link page to provide an explanation of why the user doesn't see help. If anyone has handled a similar situation, I'd be interested in your ideas.Thanks in advance.

I'm using RoboHelp 10 - Version 10.0.0.287 and the Operating System is Windows 7.I've spent considerable time creating styles in the linked Word documents that are my source files. Most everything is working and looking fine. Now I've tried to create a Master Page to add a logo as a header and a Copyright notice as a footer on each topic. When I apply the master page to the topic the content that is loaded into the "Body" placeholer within the Master Page is stripped of all of my formatting. Everything comes in in black text and is left aligned instead of have indents as called out in the styles used. Am I doing something wrong or will I need to add my logo and copyright info to each source document instead?

We have been experiencing an issue while attempting to generate layouts with user defined variables (alternating between a couple variable sets) through the Command Prompt.The user defined variable sets do NOT apply. The output is the same no matter what variable set is selected. Does anyone know why this may be happening? Could it possibly be a bug?We are using Robohelp 8. When generating through the UI, the variables are applied correctly with no issues.I saw a comment from an older forum post that may begin to explain this...https://forums.adobe.com/message/662914#662914 (comment 6 in the post):"On a side note, in one of my projects variables resolve correctly in my output (HTMLHelp) when compiled through the RoboHelp GUI, but do not when compiled via the command line. Hello forum!A help project in RH 9.0.2.217 is having problems with conditional build tags. Five CBTs but two of them in particular are being applied apparently by RoboHELP. Seems like every new day, when editing a topic, a different build tag starts populating itself. Can edit the topic in HTML view and all's fine, but when the view is switched to Design view, conditional build tags are applied throughout the topic.We were using RH9 until last week when the issue started. Installed the 9.0.1 and 9.0.2 patches, and the problem stopped for two days, but now it is back. RH9 now is also spontaneously adding bold and italics to text. It's now proceeding with adding bold text and italic text to the project. Reported to Adobe yesterday as bug # 3752233, but I do not have a really warm fuzzy feeling that we'll get a response in the next week. What I really need to know:1. Why is this occurring?2. I have FrameMaker 10 and RoboHelp 9.  When I convert a Framemaker document that has superscript text into RoboHelp, Robohelp skews the text.  The html reveals that it is not placing the "end superscript" commands correctly, it places it at the end of the sentence instead of after the superscript text.Any help?

I have RoboHelp 9 Help projects, that will only display the caption "HTML Help" regardless of what I enter in the Window configuration screen.I have tried deleting all existing Wndows and then compiled the help without any window being defined. When opened, the chm displays in the top-right with a default caption of "HTML Help". I then created a new window, called it FRED, entered the string BILL in the Window Caption field (the caption display read correctly in the preview window). All other settings were left at the defaults. When I compile the help, still the default caption "HTML Help" displays.I created a new, blank HTML project and gave it a custom Caption, again only the default caption will display.If however, I amend the caption of an existing project, where the caption displayed is as defined in the Window Properties screen, the new chm displays the amended caption. I have compared all the settings in both Window configuration screens and they appear to be identical.This prob

Some images import and others do not. The only way to make them appear them is to delete the topic and reimport it. As a result the table of contents always has to be redone. This occurs for random topics each time I start Robohelp 10, so you never know what is and is not missing until compiled.I have a series of 1500 page projects and this is extremely inefficient.

HiI am creating a settings file (ISF) for importing FM book into RH. When I create a left-aligned table style, I noticed that the table is on the left side, with too much gap on the right.  I checked the HTML code and saw that the width is set to 622. I changed that to 100% and the table got resized properly.Now, my question is where do I define that 100% in the style properties/ CSS? Is this 622 coming from FM? If yes, any idea where? I checked the FM style and did not see anything relevant there also.Thanks for your help.Sreekanth

We are using FrameMaker 11 to author our documentation. We have some cross-reference links that do not work when the FrameMaker book is imported into RoboHelp. Upon import, the href information is not included in the link in the HTML code. The text looks like a link, however. When the help is generated, the text is not a link.  The following is an example of a non-functioning link: see <a>Link</a>.</p>Here is an example of a cross-reference that is functioning correctly:<a href="#XREF_90399_Heading_Text">Link</a>There are no errors in FrameMaker. The cross-reference is updating correctly in FrameMaker. In addition, when a PDF is made form the same book, the cross-reference works in the PDF. Initially when we installed the RoboHelp Server (Version 9), we set it up as what seemed to be the easiest and most relevant: IIS7 pointing to the Tomcat application as described in the installation guide. This made sense since the company mostly uses Microsoft products.However, I've realized that the integration between IIS and tomcat is less than perfect. For instance, I was never able to get "pretty URLs" working, as attempting to do URL Rewrite fails. This is because they're not "the same server", which I do understand. Yesterday I tried messing around with getting custom 404 pages working because I want to get a notification in some form whenever a page is not found (at the moment, this is generally because we're re-writing our software from scratch and the documentation suffers the same fate, so some pages just haven't been written yet). This doesn't seem to work even if I did follow IIS customerror tutorials to the letter.So what I'm wondering is... is there a better combination

My customer has a requirement for my RoboHelp headings to mimic the numbering scheme in their Word document (which I'm converting to online help). Each main "chapter" of the document starts with a Heading 1, then Heading 2 for sections, and finally Heading 3 for subsections. In trying to get this to work in RH, I made a multi-level list style, with levels mapped to headings. I've got a Heading 1 at the top of the topic with 1. [chapter title], then 1.I. [section title], and 1.I.A., 1.I.B, etc. [sub-section title]. As I suspected, the next topic I created started over at 1 for Heading 1. Thinking I could highlight that number and set it to start at 2, the numbering just went away instead of changing. Is there a better way to do this?
