As the title says, RoboHelp x5 TOC and index missing when the project is converted to RoboHelp 10. Any ideas for recovering or importing the x5 TOC and index? Before this is suggested, auto-create is not an option.
Is it possible to show the exact link when a topic is opened? I only found a workaround by opening the topic in a new tab, clicking the show ToC option and copying the link, but I would not suggest that method to our customers.
I get the x broken link in top right corner... I tried all the solutions from changing reader settings to IE settings... no luck. the chm links works fine when opened on windows 7 and the pdfs open in multi screen and epub output. This is definitely a Windows 8/IE/Adobe Reader issue and it needs to be solved very soon or I may not have a job...
Hi,does anyone have experiance with RH10 running on a Win 8 machine?Any problems?Best regards,Helene
If I change the minimum screen resolution for a screen profile (I want to make the minimum desktop resolution 1000 px wide) I get a message saying I need to "ManageMedia Queries in the Styles dialog box and map undefined media queries". I believe I need to edit a CSS file to do this, but which one? If I change the minimum resolution for the desktop profile do I also need to change the maximm resolution for the Tablet profile?
In the Table of Contents Pod, I can right-click on a topic/page and select "Create Book from Page." When I do so, the resulting "book" is not selectable. I have to bring in the page again and place it below the "Book" title. This can't be right! What am I doing wrong, or what should I be doing?
I am building RH10 Web Help that primarily consists of Captivate 8 Demos. I recorded a 900px x 700px region with my monitor set to 1024x700.When I insert the demo into an RH 10 topic and specify that the display window for the demo should be 900x731 (extra height to allow for space needed by Captivate play bar) the viewer has to scroll the window to see entire contents if their screen resolution is less than 1200x780.Scrolling bad.How can I make the Captivate demo auto-size so that it fits in the 900x731 window I gave it WITHOUT any need for user to scroll. Thanks,Ted
I want to get rid of the Nav Bar which contains Prev, Next Refresh and hide buttons. We can hide the buttons in that bar by commenting writeToolBar(); in whskin_mbars.htm file. But still unable to hide the complete bar. I am using RoboHelp 7 with WebHelp Pro. Thanks.
Using RoboHelp 9.0.2.27Windows 7 Professional, 64-bitChrome browser 32.0.1700.76Generating WebHelpCan someone help, PLEASE?I have searched the forum posts for hours with no success. However, I did find some fixes to other problems related to opening WebHelp using Chrome.I have a WebHelp project containing See Also links. The links use the (Choose topic from) Popup menu option for displaying the list of topics. The links don’t work correctly in Chrome. The popup menu is opened near the center or topic of the topic. The location of the popup prevents the reader from seeing the available links. In other words, See Also links are not usable in Chrome. The links work as expected in Firefox and Internet Explorer.I have tried the fix noted in http://forums.adobe.com/message/2207677#2207677, i.e., I used the modified ehlpdhtm.js. The modified file controls the location of the popup menu option and fixes some other issues related to earlier versions of Internet Explorer. The modified file has
I've published my two layouts, Phone and Tablet, to a folder called /help. When I link to /help/index.htm, that index file is supposed to "sniff" to determine which layout to present. From the tablet, i get /help/android_tab/homepage.htm which is the first page of my project. From the phone, I get /help/android_phone/Android/welcome_to_android.htm, which is my Default Topic, and already three pages in from what homepage.htm should show. From what I've read and understand here, the /help/index.htm file should feed through to /help/android_phone/homepage.htm. When I look at the folders, android_phone has no homepage.htm file in it. So two questions:1. Where is the /android_phone/homepage.htm file?2. How does it end up at the Default Topic if it should be going through the /help/index.htm? If the homepage.htm file is not there, it should give a Page Not Found error, not actually end up on a page. Thanks in advance,Helen

Hi. I have a user whose interested to see if search hits can be modified to look like this... (ie, the red bit is added):<breadcrumb path><topic 1><First severeal words of topic 1><breadcrumb path><topic 2><First severeal words of topic 2><breadcrumb path><topic 3><First severeal words of topic 3>...The user wants to be able to see the context of the topic via the breadcrumbs to help weigh the accuracy of the hit before clicking on it.Thanks.-Kurt
Hello,An AIRHelp stand-alone application with about 50 topics is taking about 20 seconds to launch and sometimes the navigation from one topic to another is delayed. I removed videos and external links and it runs faster and there are no broken links in the RoboHelp files; however, this sped the output application a bit, but it is still slow. Does anyone have any suggestions on how this can be made faster? Are there any formatting issues that would slow an AIRHelp application down when generated? Thanks,Jason
Hi all - I've inherited a Webhelp project with conditional build tags that was written in an earlier verison of RoboHelp. I've taken the following steps to upgrade it to RoboHelp v9: Made a copyLaunched RoboHelp v9 and selected the project fileClicked the Upgrade button when promptedRoboHelp confirms that the upgrade has been successfully completed, but none of the files are created in the project. The only things created are the conditional build tags. I'm working on a Dell Latitude with Windows 7 installed. The project files are on a personal network drive. Has anyone done a similar kind of upgrade and had success? i imagine my inexperience with this is the probllem, so any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks,L
I have a .hsp file from another product, can this be imported into Robohelp?
When using RH9 with the file structure located on a network drive we are getting all sorts of errors with reading or writing root.fpj.In the end, root.fpj is left corrupted/truncated and you are lucky when you have made a backup. This happens right in the moment when you want to add a new theme (CTRL-T). Once you have added the theme and you want to leave RH 9 you are getting a window, sayingBeim Speichern von Daten in<H:\Robohelp_deutsch\Robohelp-Projekte\Version-1.2.-folder\SomeFolder\Company-123\XYZ-000\root.fpj <5> ist ein Fehler aufgetreten.Clicking OK give the same error but with a <1>Then the same text, but while reading, and then you can kiss goodbye to your root.fpj--Christoph
robohelp 10 htmlwin 7 64 bitI can't follow the user guide explanation for broken links. If I double-click a "broken link" in "broken links folder" it opens a dialog that suggests there are broken index entries (key icon?). When i select a listing (delete is grayed out) I can't delete. If I click "restore" nothing happens, so my only option is edit. What am I editing? I don't follow what is in the edit dialog. To what does "references" actually refer? I've attached two screen shots. One for broken links shows that the "topic" is not missing (it is in ToC) and the other scrn shot shows dialog i find confusing. The third scrn shot (last) show the dialog when i select a listing and click "edit". I don't know what i'm seeing or what to do.I checked any links in the "broken link" topic (to other topics) and they work fine. Can you help me figure out what to do. If its an index issue, i would prefer to delete the index entries, but as i mentioned, delete is grayed out. Also, none of these listin
I'm currently working on a project that works like a brochure. Its just a simple presentation, navigating from one page to another and instead of images I used videos and simple text. Nothing really fancy. I'm using as3 for my scripts. The videos are in FLV formats that is loaded into flash via the FLV Player component. When test publishing in my PC the project works really well with no errors. Videos and buttons all working the way it should. But when I publish for Android and after installing it on my device some of the videos will play but not all. Using a file manager, I tried looking into the installed file on my android device (mnt/asec) folder but can't really tell if all the videos are there. The only file visible on my android device is the apk file installed. About the same size (999mB to 1gB) as the original apk file packaged by flash. I'm pretty sure I've included all the videos in the package. I tried it several times but end up having the same result. Is there a way to fi
Tech RoboHelp 10 (project upgraded from RH7, 8, and 9 over the years)Windows 7Connected to a VSS repository. IssueThe title describes what's happening, and I want to to know how to clear the Broken Links list of these links. Here's what I did Through the TOC sidebar, I added a page. (right click > New > Page). Through the New TOC pop-up, I added a New Topic. After adding the new topic, it showed up on both the project view and the TOC, as it should.I wrote a bit in the file:I created multiple files, some using templates and user-defined variables, others without anything more than your standard, blank page. There were no inbound (that I'm aware of) or outbound links. I went ahead and deleted both the TOC entry and the Project View entry. Here's what happened The file shows up in the Broken Links list. When I vew its properties, it says that it has no references. Clicking "Edit" does nothing. The issue happened with mutliple test pages, none of which linked to anything
When importing a project from HelpStudio, everything imports, but it seems that 2nd level TOC topics are not displaying vertical scroll bars when viewed in the CHM output.Has anyone else seen this behavior?Suggestions? ("Other than use another format")-Matt
Using RH10 and RSC, my files are getting corrupted. I am using Windows 7 64bit and I DID apply the 64 bit patch. We have been noticing small things going wrong recently and thought it was RH10 since no problems were observed in RH9.I know that RH10 made some network changes, could this be effecting my project? I am pulling everything possible out of version control to avoid further corruption. Some projects must be in Source Control. Is anyone else having this problem? Some corruption is local and some is remote.
I specifically need a license for v8, not an upgrade. If the purchase is not available from Adobe, then which vendor?(I thought pierrebuies may have been asking this question as well....)thank you for your help
I write a lot of service procedures. Our field people like the procedures to flow top to bottom only without hyperlinks all over the book to remind how to perform various procedures.Using snippets inside DHTML dropdown boxes, I can provide information to our field techs who need detailed steps and others can just perform the step without having to read a bunch of details they already know. Some snippet steps use information that is repeated all over the book so I would like to put a snipped within a snippet for the novice field guys who really need to know every last screw to turn step by step.RH9 will not allow putting a snippet inside a snipped. Further, if you have too many levels of DHTML dropdown boxes within other dropdown boxes, it gets confused. Once RH9 let me put a snippet inside a snippet and it worked for 5 minutes and then crashed our project. It took hours to undo that one but we finally got version control to go back in time and then we were
Our end users are getting lost in the open books - yes, I realize it's a whole different problem, but I have been asked to add a button to "reset" the TOC books to collapse all the books. We are using RH 10 and IE 8I've looked all over for existing javascript that would do that, but I can't find it. Is that something that someone else has done already? I am not a scripting person. Thanks!Laura
Hi,I'm using Robohelp 9 with TFS 2012. I've created the context sensitive help using the merged project method.I've created the merged help for English and Swedish as well using the chms of different modules and one Parent project (Where the chms are imported as baggage files and merged ToC is created). For English help, if I try to search for the different topics using the search option in chm file (I tried to enter words/topic names), it is working fine in both individual module project as well as for merged output. But if I try to search in Swedish chm file, the search is working in individual module chm, but not in merged project output. Due to this, if I want to go to another topic while working with the application (For which the Online Help is integrated), I cannot search for any topic of any module.Note that there are seperate merged projects for two languages (English and Swedish).Kindly help me in resolving this issue. Thanks in advance,Dipali
