User can access WEbhelp generated by accessing index.htm. How does user access Microsoft help generated by robohelp? I do not see htm file and cannot find answer in the manual?
We are using WebHelp option from RoboHelp 10.And in the mid of creating the help for our purpose and suddenly it expires. What is the procedure to extend(use for another 30days on my machine) the Expired RoboHelp 10 free trial version. When our product get ready we will be purchasing RH10 license to deploy it at client end. Thanks in advance.-Anil
I am using TCS 4 and RoboScreenCapture has for some unknown reason stopped working - it will not start. Rebooting/ restarting the PC does not fix the issue.Unfortunately it does not seem possible to uninstall and reinstall it without uninstalling the entire TCS. When I ran the TCS installer there were no options to reinstall just RoboScreenCapture.I do not want to reinstall the entire TCS if avoidable.Has anyone experinced this before, and know if it is possible to simply reinstall RoboScreenCapture?Cheers Mark
Hi,I'am using RH 10 to generate a printed documentation output. What i notice is that the book marked cross references are broken in the Printed Documentation output. Other cross references are linking fine, but, the bookmarked cross references do not link to their destination.I generated a chm file for the project and the bookmarked cross references appear fine there. Is there anything that could be tried to rectify this problem. Please note that i'am using HTML files as the source files to convert to a Word output. Thanks,Rupesh
When I set the server folders to publish to in WebHelp, it won't save them. If I click Save and Generate, it generates the help, but won't publish. When I go back in to WebHelp settings, my folders are gone. If I set the folders, click Save and then exit out. When I come back in, the folders are gone.
Hello,I know this is simple, but I am a total Robo newb.I have created the TOC and pages and then linked those pages to the TOC.When I click "View Item", all I see is the page without any TOC.What preview option should I use that will show me the TOC along with the pages that are linked to it?Thanks!Jeff
I've got an old WinHelp4 project that has been neglected for years and now we are trying to bring it current.I've deleted the old TOC it had and created a new one with just a couple of entries to start with (just to make sure everything gets put together ok). I've run into an odd thing. After generating the help files, if I click on the button to "Review Primary Layout" or generate the help file and click on "View Result" I get the old version of the TOC. That is, 10 books in the Contents Tab window. If I double click in Windows Explorer on the actual generated .hlp file I get the correct Contents. It appears to me that RoboHelp is "remembering" something that deleting and recreating the TOC did not reset. I went trough all of the files that I saw for the RH project but didn't see anything that had the old book names in them.I'm using RH for Word 10.0 on Win7 Pro (64-bit).This is w WinHelp4 project. The plan is to move to HTML. But can't do it n
Hello everybody, I'm pretty new to RoboHelp HTML 9 and I am still in the learning process, so my question might seem a bit trivial. In Word there is this "Building Blocks" feature that allows to save standardized content for future reuse. I use this feature a lot, especially to insert standardized tables for Warnings and Notes. These tables are fully formatted and have the symbols already integrated so that I only have to add some text.My question is: Is there a similar feature in RoboHelp? Is there a feature that allows me to store these pre-defined tables somewhere and reuse them with one click? As far as I understand, the Snippet feature might not do it because it doesn't allow me to add customized text to the tables.Thank you for your help in advance!

View Selected Item now displays a dialog instead of automatically opening a topic in view mode. How do I set a default browser for this and stop the dialog from displaying. Using RoboHelp version 10.0.1.292 .
When i deploy the Help files. The formatting of the Numbering/bullets are affected and it is parts of the help files that i have not changed. Is there something else that i need to do to fix it?

I have been converting a FrameMaker 9 document to WebHelp with RoboHelp 8, and I just upgraded to FrameMaker 9 and RoboHelp 10. When I try to convert the same FrameMaker book, I now have problems with the position of table captions: they appear to the left of the header row instead of above it. This occurs when viewing the help with FireFox.I attempted to map my tables to something other than [source] in the Conversion Settings dialog box, but the pull-down list does not give me any choices. How can I change the way that the table titles get displayed? The FrameMaker paragraph style for the table title used to be converted to a <p> element, but now gets converted to a <caption> element, but I don't see how to control the <caption> output.
Hi,I use RH10 to create an HTML help from several Word documents.I have a problem with Word hyperlink that is not converted in the HTML output. In my RH10 project, i have 2 link word document. I created with Word an hyperlink with bookmark in a document called docA.docx on another Word document called docB.docx. The docB.docx document contains the bookmark called by the docA.docx document. The hyperlink property in Word is "docB.docx#myBookmark". This hyperlink works fine with Word, when i clic on the link in the docA.docx the docB.docs document is open by Word.Problem appears when i update the word document in RH10 to generate HTML document. The HTML hyperlink token href="" is generated so there is no hyperlink on the HTML output. When i remove the bookmark in the Word document the HTML hyperlink token href="docB.docx" is generated. So i don't know if it's a RH10 bug or if this feature is not supported by RH10.For information, i used hyperlink with bookmark because cross-reference is n
is there any way to add search, print and back/forward functionality to a page without using RH's pre-configured options? for example, I want to add Search, Print and Back/Forward buttons into the header of the master page, so that it displays on every page. is this possible, and is scripting the answer?
Hi,When i have a Word document with a bookmark defined but not used in any cross-reference, this bookmark is not generated in the HTML output by a anchor tag (<a name="MyBookmark">I'am a bookmark</a>)If one cross-reference is defined on this bookmark the anchor tag is generated in the HTML.Is there any option to activate this generation in HTML output ?Regards,
I currently have an issue when I try to import a 'saved as: 97-2003' or 'MS Word' doc or docx into Robohelp 10, I receive the following error: Any assistance with this would be appreciated. In the meantime I've been converting everything from a doc/docx format to a pdf and then importing. However, it would be nice to know why I can't perform the task as I have shared PS...With regards to the error statement: "Please install Microsoft Word 2000 or newer"? I have Microsoft Office 2013 installed (and not the student or home version). "I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed", so to speak but I would think that Word 2013 would pacify the requirement of MS Word 2000 or newer...?Thanks.Message was edited by: Words2Technology
I am trying to generate a review PDF of a handful or topics. It generates, but first I get an error: (I have Word 2013 installed.)Then the PDF generates, but it is A4. I never use metric for anything, so where it is picking up A4 I can't imagine. I have all my PDF settings to letter. I checked Edit > Properties > PDF settings > Advanced settings, everything. It's all set correctly. Even all of my Word templates (which I am not using for this project anyway) are letter. Like I said: No metric pages or units of measure used ever. Not in Word, not in FrameMaker, not in Acrobat. Why does RoboHelp default to A4? And why does it not consider Word 2013 "newer" than Word 2000?
I know this sounds familiar, but it is a different issue than this discussion: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5745727. I deployed the fix for that issue and viewing the webhelp now works. However, this issue is when I generate a child project, it publishes successfully; however, when I click on the folder from the table of contents, the refresh loop starts and the content won't display. This is only seems to be happening for me, not the other 2 technical writers that use RoboHelp. Any ideas??
I'm using TCS 4 with RoboHelp v10.0.1.292 and FrameMaker v 11. I created some dummy DITA files in FrameMaker11 using the default choices and organized them in a ditamap to learn how to work with multiple topic levels. My ditamap has 3 topic levels. All 3 levels display in RoboHelp's Project Manager, however only the first 2 levels display in the automatically generated TOC. (After generating WebHelp output, I can do a search and find the 3rd level content, but the 3rd level topics are not displayed in the WebHelp TOC either.)First graphic: 3rd level files in Project Manager pod match how they are arranged in FM, and where they failed to show up in the FMTOC pod.Second graphic: I found that I can get the 3rd level to display in the RoboHelp TOC and in WebHelp output if I click the TOC pod AUTO-CREATE TOC icon - is this the solution or is there something I just haven't got set up yet? If regenerating the TOC in RH is the solution, how do I get th
I have just gone through a Robohelp class. Main purpose is to make an HTML online version of my Framemaker book. Upon import from Framemaker to Robohelp, I designated my Framemaker Heading 3 into a Robohelp Heading 2. My understanding from my class was that this would break out the level 3 topics so that they would get their own online help page. However, the structure of the original Framemaker book was retained upon import with each topic starting with Heading 1 and containing Heading 2, 3 and 4s. Original Framemaker book chapters started with a Heading 1 and contained Headings 2, 3, and 4. Is there a way to break out the Heading 2 and 3 from the Heading 1 chapters so that the online help pages aren't so long?Edit: I found a similar discussion thread which states to use the Pagination option upon import. Well, now that I have already imported my Framemaker document, is there an easy way to chunk up the Framemaker chapters in Robohelp? Thanks and sorry for the double posting.
I am trying to insert a swf file into a topic, using Insert/Adobe Captivate Demo and then browsing to the chm file on my local disk. When I chose the file and click open I get a runtime error. The thing is, I have already successfully added two Captivate Demos into the Help project using exactly this method. The only difference I can see is the file size of the swf file. The two files I managed to insert were 6 and 10 MB, and the one that's not working is just over 17 MB.Is there a size limit for inserting these files?(I'm using RoboHelp 7. Not sure what version of Captivate was used but could probably find out.)Thanks.
