I recently got a windows 7 machine and moved robohelp 8 to it. at first it didnt work but the a couple of patches were applied and now i can at least open my projects. problem is the TOC pod does not display at all. It does not show up in the pod list so I cant select it (obviously) any help greatly appreciated.my version is 8.0.2.208thanks

I am new to RoboHelp and I am trying to write some more text in an existing project in design view. I use Track Changes and have set the text to be Times New Roman 12pt. When I made a line italic it turned into Arial. I tried to change it to Times once again by selecting the text to format and then choose Format/ Font/ Times New Roman but it won´t change, it is still Arial. Earlier in the text I managed to make a line italic and Times New Roman. Anyone who knows what to do?(I use RoboHelp 10 with Windows 7 Professional.)

1st, as new here, hope this is posted in the right place.Starting a month or so ago, I noticed a new behavior with Flash.  Whenever I would switch to another window, the flash web application I was running (game, advertisement, whatever) would stop, leaving me with a grey window and an 'f' in the middle. Lol, so appropriate. What's the deal? What's the fix? I should be able to tab to another window, minimize, or bring some other window in front of that browser page and still let the thing run "off screen" or hidden.  Why does it stop? Typically I have to login again to the application or restart the demo or application that was running flash.  Very annoying.

I have admin privileges on the file. It's checked out of TFS. I am trying to add a conditional build expression and define it. I can add it but can't define it. The option to define any conditional build expression is grayed out.

I would like to have my Navigation pan to be 200 pixels and my content pane to be 800 pixels..I do not want the text to flow on either side of the panes.Is that possible?I might have use a table for the content in the past to limit the flow. But I am looking for a more elegant way to set a project's dimension.

My company uses RoboHelp HTML version 9. We are going through a rebranding effort and are now trying to change our Help system to match the company's new fonts and colors. I created a new CSS to match the company's style, but fonts that I selected when setting up the CSS do not appear in the font drop-down menu in the Design view. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this would occur and what I could do about it?Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Hello, I have RoboHelp 10 and  I'm running Windows 7. I have administrator priveleges on my machine. We use IE 9. I am publishing webhelp directly to our webserver (i have write access to our output folder on the webserver). We have a merged project environment. Once we re-view the site after i have made a change to the content, we are not seeing the change unless we reset IE's settings to factory default settings. I understand this more and likely is not a RoboHelp issue but any information regarding this fix would be much appreciated. I also want to mention some of the child projects have the thumbs.db file auto created in them; not sure it matters but want to mention. I read that the web server may be caching the content which means refreshing and hard-refreshing IE will not help show the updated, published content but i find it weird that if I reset IE's settings to factory, then everything displays as it should. Hello,Is there a reason that a popup that worked in RoboHelp HTML 9 would generate an ehlpdhtm.js error after the project was converted to version 10? Whether there's a reason or not, how can I get it working again? The only difference between this particular popup and other similar ones on the page is that it was added to the project later and resides in the project root folder, while the others are in subfolders. This is the same organization that existed when the project was in RH9, and no changes have been made to the topic or the popup itself. OS is Win 7, output is chm.Thanks!Beth

Hi, A UI designer at my company is using Bootstrap 3 to create the look and feel (CSS and skin) to be used by new SW products. Does RoboHelp 10 allow me to import or link to a CSS created with Bootstrap 3? Or can I copy and paste portions of the Bootstrap CSS into the RoboHelp project CSS?Thanks!Gabe

So just about 30 minutes ago, I downloaded the newest version of adobe flash player. I went to youtube and clicked a video. It said "blocked plug-in" so i clicked that and it said "The version of 'Adobe Flash Player' on your system does the include the latest security updates and has been blocked. To continue using  'Adobe Flash Player', download an updated version from adobe's website". I've downloaded the newest already. What is the problem? I have a macbook air btw. What should I do to be able to watch videos again?

I am using TCS4 (FM11, RH10).In FM, I add images (import by reference), set the anchored frame to "Run into paragraph" and have it right-justified.  Looks good, and publishes to PDF fine.RH imports it and ignores the anchored frame spacing.  If the text is not deep enough to span the depth of the image, RH overlaps the image, preferring to manage spacing through the text.  Pictures on top of pictures.How can I tell RH to honor the anchors put into FM? Hopefully its a setting in RH, since there are a lot of pics and it would be a pain to have to modify all of them individually.Help.      

I have a client experiencing 3 distinct problems with their Chinese-localized Fm files:The SimSun TTF font used in the source Fm files is "uninstalling" itself. This requires reinstallation of the font on a regular basis (every few days).The colons used in index markers in the Fm source files are not being parsed as Level1IX, Level2IX, etc. in the RoboHelp project. Instead, they are recognized as colons. In other words, the first level marker in Rh is XXXXXXXX:XXXXXXX:XXXXXXX. The same is true for the semicolons.The conversion settings for the Chinese project do not allow for mapping to individual CSS elements and classes. This means that all of the formatting is controlled via the supplemental CSS generated from the FrameMaker formatting. IOW, the formatting all uses the class="FM_ definitions.Has anyone had success working with Chinese characters in a FrameMaker to RoboHelp workflow (either linking or importing)?Anyone else seen any of these issues in Chinese or any other fonts?I'm t

Hi Everyone,Question: does anyone know if it is possible to have an image repository that sits outside of the help SSL such that multiple Webhelp systems can reference a common image repository?I'm using Rh10 to write help in English which then gets translated into many languages.The problem we face is that our installation DVD is now huge thanks to all these different help langauge resources.The images are repeated within each different language output. Thus I was asked recently if there are any efficiencies possible here - for example by sharing images (that are common to each language output) in one central folder.It makes a lot of sense, but as far as I can see it's not possible in Rh10.Can anyone confirm or deny?Many thanks in advance.Cheers,Andy

Hi, When I generate webhelp in RoboHelp 10 the 'Previous' and 'Next' arrow buttons are missing from the webhelp skin I have created. The buttons are present when I preview the skin....Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?Thanks,Louis

I'm using RoboHelp 8 to generate WebHelp output from a Windows 7 system.My help project includes a handful of user guides in PDF format. The PDF files have been added to baggage files and I link to them from help topics without any issue. The PDF files appear in the webhelp search results and when clicked from the search results, a 404-Page Not Found error appears in the right pane.  It seems that the path to the file includes a backslash (\) just before the filename instead of a forward slash (/). If I open the link in a new window and manually change the path to use a forward slash then the PDF file opens. I am working on a large Robohelp 7 HTML project (3,280 files in db), that was cloned from an existing project.  Whenever I open it, it hangs at "Loading DB Info..." for an hour or more.  It's CPU Usage swells to 50-60% of CPU capacity, and the Memory Usage will stay bloated at 185MB (vs. about 4MB for the old source project).Also, when I "Save All" the first time each day, it hangs up for an hour or two.  After that, "Save All" (and everything else) functions normally...  I notice that the cloned project now has 2 .cpd files (and 2 corresponding .brs files)--a normal-sized one (4MB) carrying the old source project's name, and another humonguous .cpd file (85MB) with the new cloned project's name.  Could this be a symptom or cause of my opening and saving problems?

I assigned the Map IDs and associated the project with that Map ID file.In the CSH Test, I chose Offline and navigated to a file. In the Map Number field, I browsed to the Map ID file and clicked on the dropdown arrow to locate the corresponding Map ID. I then clicked OK and nothing happened.

I'm trying to use RoboHelp 10 to create some context sensitive help files for my Java App.I've included robohelp_csh.java in my project and am aware of the CSH API call:     RoboHelp_CSH.RH_ShowHelp(0, "C:/my path to rbh output/index.htm", RoboHelp_CSH.HH_HELP_CONTEXT, 1002);I've become aware that this will work only with 'published' robohelp output and possibly only with Web Help or Flash Help output.RH_ShowHelp appears to just try and locate and load IEXPLORE.exe and pass a url. It loads internet explorer even though this is not my default browser. Annoyingly, this prompts me to enable scripting every time I load a help page. It also loads it into a new instance. Hello all- I've been working on a project in Robohelp7/HTML for about a week. I come in today and try to open my project and receive the error "Unable to create database. Check that the directory is not read-only.". I've done the obvious of checking the folders and files within and they are not marked read only. When I create a new project, I receive the same error. I'm stuck at a standstill and can't figure out why Robohelp has decided to deny me access to my project or the ability to create new ones. I went so far as to uninstall and reinstall, to no avail. Has anyone encountered this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

In fact, I can open the pdf file when the chm file is opened just after its edition.But when I open again my chm file , the pdf file doesn't appear. There is just a small square with a white cross inside.Thank you.

When we go into the software and hit F1, it goes into Chrome.  All you see it a white screen and the web page address.  If you copy the address and put it in Internet Explorer it will open.  We think it has something to do with the latest Chrome update.  We use RoboHelp 10.  Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm using RH 9, and for some reason, in our printed output, the white space between ordered lists and unordered lists doesn't match the equivalent lists in the printed output. Here's what it looks like in the online output. This is the amount of spacing we want between our paragraphs:But here's what the printed output looks like. The list items are too close together. Obviously, I can fix it post processing on the .doc file, but why is this even happening. Shouldn't it look the same if I'm using the project style sheet for both outputs? Am I missing something? I would like to create an image map using certain text that resides in the same topic as the image. I do not want the user to see the text when viewing online; I only want them to see the pop-up when they click on the mapped image. I do, however, want the text to print if the user chooses to do so. I've been playing around with bookmarks and conditional flags but can't seem to get it to function properly. Can what I'm trying to do be done?
