Good afternoon. Excuse my english. For some reason textures baked in marmoset look pixelated in painter. If you bake textures in the painter, there are no such problems. What's this? Why does this occur? How to fix it?
Hi I get the following message when baking from high to low in Substance Painter.[BakingProcess] Highpoly scene was required when baking Curvature Map from Mesh but could not be loaded.[BakingProcess] Highpoly scene was required when baking Thickness Map from Mesh but could not be loaded. I have 'by mesh name' enabled, the names of the models are correct. I am uploading FBX Binary files. I disabled 'Enable CPU raytracing'. I cannot find any advice online anywhere. Any advice would be appreciated.
Startup on two separate 2019 Mac Pros with macOS 12.5.1 takes several minutes. Same version launches almost instantly on Windows system. Is this normal?
Hi, Im working on a big model, that needs to be textured with tileable textures to preserve texel density. Because of that, the model has a lot of overlapping uvs and part of the model goes out of standart UV space. The original texture is from quixel bridge and it works fine in unreal engine and 3ds max, but when I import it in Substance Painter I get this weird looking errors on the model, it kinda looks like padding but it dont behave like it. This is happening purely in substance painter, every other program shows the texture correctly.I wanted to paint some dirt and color variations on the model. I know I could probably import a °1:1 plane and paint on it, but I want to see the results in real time.
I'm Attempting To Export Some Textures For A Model I've Been Working On For VRC, And Am Using A New Export Template That I Came Across In An Attempt To Get A Better Output. I Know Very Little About What I'm Doing And Am Just Using A Template That Was Reccomended To Me, What Is Wrong Here And How Do I Fix It?
i'm having an issue when using substance, I made this model and make sure It's uv unwarped i'm using 25 UDIMS on this model when I export it to substance it won't load. is there anyway to fix this problem? this is the normals
I just finished modeling this table also setup vertex color made sure everything is correct, i export it to adobe Substance Painter but when i beak textures it has weird artifacts ID maps and I tired to texture it but it doesn't work can anyone please help
Hi,I've seen some similar posts on the forums but not an actual solution, so:Substance painter is not responding on startup. I'm running the latest SP version on Windows 10 and it was working perfectly when I exited the application, signed out of adobe and signed in again, started the app again and suddenly nothing. Not sure what it went wrong there. I've tried closing all other apps in case there was a conflict, and restored the interface to its default layout (as recommended in the documentation), restarted the pc, unplugged the pc, still nothing. I've also sent an e-mail to technical support (or at least tried to, I never got a confirmation e-mail or anything of the sort), and I'd really appreciate a quick solution on this because I need it up and running for work. Thanks in advance!
Seems like the paint tool requires that the center of the brush is over the surface in order to have any effect. This means that using large, soft brushes for example to skim along the edge of a UV chunk using only the outer edge of the brush footprint for masking purposes is impossible. Would be nice if this worked a little better.
SP freezes constantly after startup, I am still able to perform some actions, but it freezes and I have to use the task manager and end task.I am unable to work. It started with 8.1.2 but continued with the update to 8.1.3.Also tried to run as admin, didn't work. Never happened to me before with SP... Technical details:Substance painter 8.1.3, on windows 10.
Saludos!
I still don't know the cause, it happens randomly. didn't happen the last time. Please find attached the log file,
Am I missing something, or do neither blend modes or levels work on a layer that has only roughness applied via a texture? I have some white lettering that's being 3D projected, via a PNG with transparency. If I duplicate this layer and plug it into a roughness only fill layer, I get the expected white values in the roughness channel. However, if I want this value to be black, I should be able to color correct only this layer somehow, such as by applying a levels effect with "invert" checked (to get a black roughness value). Or, setting the blend mode on the roughness channel on the layer to "subtract" should have a similar effect. Neither seems to work and my roughness values on the lettering stay white. It's as if the roughness channel is continuing to read values directly from the texture and ignoring any downstream processes. ???
I have a subscription to Creative Cloud and decided to start a trial of Adobe Substance 3D. However, when I downloaded it and started a trial, it notifies me about problem with subscription and internet connection (still connection is pretty stable). Help me to fix it, please, as I can't use my trial.
Hi everyone, I have a problem with exporting normal map from substance.I have some fill layer with a black mask on which I have applied a paint layer. But there's an issue when exporting a normal map: pratically the black mask's paint layer "delete" the parts of normal map where ther are paint brushes. The result is that when I render in Maya's Arnold there are some black patch where the normal map is deleted. There are some images of my problem with that. How can I resolve this?
so the model is fine i did baking , unwrapping and a bit of materials in it, and i let you to know this thing happenes everytime sometimes after couple of mintues ,sometimes when i initially open my project it is really hard to explain the artifacts that i am seeing so i leave you with these pictures , i can't find the reason nor the solution , undo dosent fix it , the only soultion was loading back into my previous save fileanyone else experienced the same issue ? or do you have any solution or even the reason why this happensmy pc isnt that powerful but i checked the task manager and everything including the ram and cpu are in their 50% of usage so i dont think it's a problem with my requirements , thanks for reading my version is 7.1.1 2021 platform is windows
The thumbnails for the brushes make it impossible to visualize the actual brush when its scaled over 350%Can you please fix this?
Heya,I am able to update the required environment variables within the scope of Substance Painter and its plugins (i.e. %SUBSTANCE_PAINTER_PLUGINS_PATH%, as well as the variable in substance_painter_plugins.path)After programmatically updating these variables (and also calling substance_painter_plugins.update_sys_path()), however, clicking the "reload plugins folder" option in Substance does not load up the new correct folder, despite the paths reflecting as correct when I checked via Python console. Just wondering if I am able to reload the plugins folder programmatically via the Python API. Thanks!
The program seems to be having trouble working with a simple plane(flat surface): it takes over 5 minutes to open even when there's very few layers, and it lags horribly while working on it. It does so with all of my plane files. It opens all my other 3D files normally though and works perfectly fine. Why is it having so much issue with a simple plane?
So recently I can`t export 2d view, no errors. Substance just exports full black images instead of 2d view. First export is always fast and i get the black image. Next exports take forever and the result is the same..My global settings are the same. I tried changing env map, tried diff padding, nothing works. No errors in the log also. Version 8.1.2 build 1782
I have no idea what just happened to my substance painter. I leave the software open over night. And this is what I saw in the morning. The painting mode is just like this(the attached photo). But the rendering mode is working properly. When I move the cursor, I can tell that the 3d model is in the right place but just the viewport is scaled down and moved to the left bottom corner for some none understandable reason. I have tried to reset UI, delete the folder under C - users - documents - adobe and the folder under AppData - adobe. I also tried to reinstall the software. And of course, reboot the computer. Looks no help at all. Please if you have had the same problem before, leave the message and if you have solved the problem. Please Please let me know. You will just save my life for sure.
Using UDIM workflow is actually NOT possible to increase the horizontal and vertical Offset value for UV transformations beyond -1.0 and +1.0 And values larger than these ones would be necessary in examples like the attached one (see image) I can MANUALLY move my map to that 1004 tile, yes, but my Offset value does NOT reflect that final position. It should be aproximately 3 and not 1 And since that visible value is constrained between -1 and +1, I can not be sure if it’s really 2.995 o 3.005 or so… In much other sliders, both for Painter and Designer, we can go beyond the default max and min values, but not here. I consider this a severe limitation (bug?), since I can not precisely located my maps. Or maybe is there some way to change this that I’m not aware? Thanks!
So I used to own substance before it sold out running on 7.2 which was splendid. But since the switch everything crashes. And I bought the subscription because of said switch. And I saw that Adobe can do rollbacks but that was from last year....so IDK where, or how to fix it even after going through the troubleshooting that was suggested and funny enough everything wasn't put out of place....from the environment variables which was fine to the NVidia control panel to changing everything, from reinstalling, to window graphic setting and adding it to run on my GPU, and even turing off software incompatabilities i.e google and my firewall....still it crashes....I have an up to dateNvidia 1080, AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core Processor Drivers
Installed from: SteamOS: Linux Ubuntu 20App: Substance 3D Painter 2022Problem: libqxcb.so: (libxcb-xinerama.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)I'm new to Linux might be easy to fix thanks in advance 😃If there is any more info I can give let me know!
